Some recommended (sunnah) actions to be performed even before entering into obligatory prayer

When the time for prayer approaches, the adhan is announced - the call to prayer.

The procedure for announcing the adhan:

Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, (Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest)

Ashhadu ala ilaha illallah, (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah)

I testify that, verily, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Ashhadu anna Muhammad-rrasulullah. (I testify that, verily, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)

حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلاةِ Hayyya 'ala-salat (h), (Hurry to prayer)

حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلاةِ Hayyya 'ala-salat (h). (Hurry to prayer)

حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلاحِ Hayyya 'alal-falah, (Hurry to salvation)

حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلاحِ Hayyya 'alal-falah. (Rush to the rescue)

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. (Allah is great, Allah is great)

لآ إِلهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ La ilaha illallah. (There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah).

When announcing the morning adhan, after both “Hayya 'alal-falah” the following is read twice:

“Assalatu khairu-mmina-nnavm” (Prayer is better than sleep). It is advisable for the one who announces the adhan to read “Salavat” and dua after it. It is advisable for the person who hears the adhan to repeat each phrase after the muezzin. After the words “Hayya 'ala” they say:

لا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إِلاّ بِاللهِ

“La havla wala quwwata illya billah.” (There is no strength and power to refrain from bad and do good, except from Allah Almighty). When calling for morning prayer, after the words of the muezzin “As-salatu khairun mina-nnavm” they answer:

صَدَقْتَ وَبَرِرْتَ

“Sadakta wa barirta.” (You told the truth, you are the owner of good). After the announcement of the azan, salavat to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is read (more valuable - “As-Salat al-Ibrahimiya”), then this special prayer:

“Allahumma Rabba hazihi-dda'vati-ttammati vassalatil-kaimati ati sayyidana Muhammadanil-vasilyata wal-fasilyata, wab-'ahu makaman mahmudani llazi va'adtahu, warzukna shafa'atahu yavmal-kiyamati innaka la tuhliful-mi'ad." (O Allah! Lord of this full-fledged call (adhan) and prayer performed, grant our master Muhammad the degree of al-Wasilat and bring him to the level of Maqam Mahmud, which You promised him. Grant us the intercession of the Prophet on the Day of Judgment, verily You do not break promises ).

It is advisable to read this dua to the one who announces the adhan and to the one who hears it. Afterwards, you can ask the Almighty for other wishes, since the prayer between adhan and iqamat is accepted. If you read salawat to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and this dua after the adhan of the muezzin, then you will undoubtedly receive the intercession of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The dignity and order of answering the adhan

The procedure for answering the adhan to those who are in the bathhouse or in the toilet during tawaf

It is also advisable for those in the bathhouse to answer the adhan. It is also advisable to respond to someone who has impurities (najas) on his body other than his mouth. It is advisable for him to respond by clearing his mouth, if not much time has passed since the call. It is also advisable to answer the adhan for those who do not have ablution, who must do full ablution (bathe), as well as for women during the period when it is forbidden to perform namaz.

It is condemned to answer the adhan to someone who is in the toilet and performing marital duty.

At the end, if not much time has passed since the adhan, it is advisable to answer.

It is advisable for those on tawaf (circumvention around the Kaaba) to respond.

It is not advisable to answer the azan to a person performing Sunnat prayer: if he answers only four (haya ala...) or says “Sadaqta wa barirta,” his prayer will be spoiled. But after completing the prayer, again, if not much time has passed, it is advisable to answer.

For anyone who enters the mosque on Friday during adhan after the imam has begun reading the khutbah, it is advisable to first answer the adhan while standing, then perform two rakats of tahiyat prayer (the prayer of entering the mosque).
