Hour One.
Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, have mercy on us. Amen.
Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.
Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, souls ours.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (Thrice.)
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our iniquities; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name's sake.
Lord, have mercy (three times). Glory, and now:
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, as it is in Heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Also, Lord, have mercy, (12), Glory, and now:
Come, let us worship the King our God.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God.
Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God.
Psalm 5:
Inspire my words, Lord, understand my calling. Listen to the voice of my prayer, my King and my God, as I pray to You, Lord. Tomorrow hear my voice, tomorrow I will appear to You and see me. For God does not will iniquity, Thou art: the wicked shall not dwell in Thee; the wicked shall abide below Thy eyes: Thou hast hated all those who practice iniquity. Destroy all those who speak lies: the Lord abhors a man of blood and flattery. But through the multitude of Thy mercy, I will go into Thy house and worship Thy holy temple, in Thy fear. Lord, guide me in Your righteousness, my enemy, for my sake, straighten my path before You. For there is no truth in their mouth, their heart is vain, their grave is opened, their throat is open: their tongues are flattering. Judge for them, O God, that they may fall away from their thoughts; because of the multitude of their wickedness, forgive me, for I have grieved Thee, O Lord. And let all who trust in Thee rejoice, may they rejoice forever, and dwell in them, and let those who love Thy name boast in Thee. For you have blessed the righteous, O Lord, for you have crowned us with weapons of favor.
Psalm 89:
Lord, you have been our refuge forever and ever. Before even the mountains existed and the earth and the universe were created, and from eternity to eternity You are. Do not turn man away into humility, and you say: turn, sons of humanity. Like a thousand years are before Your eyes, O Lord, like yesterday, like the past, and the watch of the night. The humiliations of their summer will be. The morning will pass by like grass; the morning will flourish and pass away; in the evening it will fall away and become hard and wither. For I have been consumed by Your wrath, and have been troubled by Your wrath. Thou hast laid down our iniquities before Thee: our age is for the illumination of Thy face. As all our days have become impoverished, and through Your wrath has disappeared, our summer has become like a spider. The days of our years are, at the bottom, seventy years, and yet we are able, eighty years, and we multiply their labor and sickness: for meekness will come upon us, and we will be punished. Who will tell the power of Your wrath, and out of Your fear, will consume Your wrath? Tell me Thy right hand, and those who are bound in heart in wisdom. Turn back, Lord, how long? And beg for Thy servants. In the morning we were filled with Thy mercy, O Lord, and we rejoiced and rejoiced, all our days we rejoiced, for the days in this day you humbled us, in the summer in this day we saw evil. And look upon Thy servants, and upon Thy works, and instruct their sons. And may the Lord our God be upon us, and restore the work of our hands upon us, and restore the work of our hands.
Psalm 100:
I will sing mercy and judgment to You, Lord. I sing and understand on the path without blame, when will you come to me? I walked in the gentleness of my heart in the midst of my house. I did not present before my eyes a thing that was unlawful: I hated those who committed the crime. Do not my obstinate heart cling to me; I have not known the evil one who turns away from me. He who slanders his sincere secret, I drive him out: with a proud eye and an unsatisfied heart, I do not eat with this. My eyes are on the faithful lands, plant them with me: walk on the blameless path that serves me. If you do not live in the midst of my house, you create pride, you say unrighteousness, and you do not correct yourself in my sight. In the morning, all the sinners of the earth were slaughtered, and all those who practice iniquity consumed from the city of the Lord.
Glory, and now:
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, glory to you God. Three times.
Lord, have mercy, three times.
Glory, troparion for the day.
And now: Theotokos :
What shall we call You, O Blessed One? / Heaven, as if you have risen as the Sun of Truth. / Paradise, as if you have vegetated, the color of incorruptibility. / Virgin, for you remain incorruptible. / Pure Mother, as you had in your holy embrace the Son, all God. / Pray to him for the salvation of our souls.
Direct my steps according to Thy word / and let not all iniquity possess me. / Deliver me from the slander of men, / and I will keep Your commandments. / Make Thy face shine upon Thy servant / And teach me by Thy justification.
Let my mouth be filled with Your praise, O Lord, / for I will sing of Your glory, / Your splendor all day long.

Kontakion: To the victorious Voivode, / as having got rid of the evil ones, / let us write thanksgiving to Thy servants, O Theotokos, / but as having an invincible power, / free us from all troubles, let us call Ti; / Rejoice, Unbridled Bride.
The rite of the priest
At the beginning of the Divine service, and at the first exclamation, the psalmist says the psalm:
Bless the Lord my soul.
Whenever the charter indicates the liturgy of the antiphons for the holiday, then the hours are spoken all together.
Psalm 102/>
Bless the Lord, my soul, and all that is within me, His holy name. Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget His rewards. Who cleanses all your iniquities, who heals all your illnesses. He who delivers your belly from decay, who crowns you with mercy and bounties. Whoever fulfills your good desires, your youth will be renewed like an eagle. The Lord creates alms and destiny for all those who are offended. Moses told His ways to the sons of Israel His desires. The Lord is generous and merciful, long-suffering, and abounding in mercy. He is not completely angry, he is never at enmity. He did not cause us to eat because of our iniquities, nor did He reward us to eat because of our sins. As the height of heaven from the earth, the Lord established His mercy on those who fear Him. The east is far removed from the west, and our iniquities have been removed from us. As a father gives generously to his sons, the Lord will provide generously to those who fear Him. As He knew our creation, I will remember as the dust of Esma. A man is like grass, and his days are like the flower of the field, so he will blossom. For the spirit will pass through it and will not be, and will not know its place. The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him. And His righteousness is upon the sons of sons, who keep His covenant and remember His commandments to do. The Lord has prepared His throne in heaven, and His kingdom possesses all. Bless the Lord, all His angels, who are mighty in strength to do His word, to hear the voice of His words. Bless the Lord, all His might, His servants who do His will. Bless the Lord, all His works, in every place of His dominion; bless the Lord, my soul.
Is it the Liturgy, we say according to the 2nd exclamation, Psalm 145/>
Praise the Lord, my soul; I will praise the Lord in my life; I will sing to my God until I am. Do not put your trust in the princes of the sons of men, for in them there is no salvation. His spirit will depart and return to his land; on that day all his thoughts will perish. Blessed is the God of Jacob, his helper; his trust is in the Lord his God. Who created heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. Keeping the truth forever, bringing justice to the offended, giving food to the hungry. The Lord decides the chained, the Lord makes the blind wise, the Lord raises up the downtrodden, the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord protects the stranger, accepts the sire and the widow, and destroys the path of sinners. The Lord will reign forever. Your God is Zion forever and ever.
Glory, even now.
The clerics sing:
The Only Begotten Son, and the Word of God, are immortal, deigning for our salvation to be incarnate from the Holy Theotokos and the ever-Virgin Mary, immutably made human; crucified, O Christ God, and coming death upon death, the One and the Holy Trinity, glorified by the Father and the Holy Spirit, save us.
At the end of the singing, the canarchist says blessed, according to the charter.
Whenever you come to the kingdom of Si, remember us, Lord. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for to them is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who cry, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Blesseds of mercy, for there will be mercy. Blessed are those who are pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for these shall be called sons of God. Blessed is the expulsion of truth for the sake of them, for those are the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who revile you, and destroy you, and say all sorts of evil things against you for lying to Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is abundant in heaven. Glory, and now
.
Apart from the Divine Liturgy, let us therefore read:
Apostle and Gospel.
Also, we say:
Remember us, Lord, when you come to the kingdom of Xi
(bow)
.
Remember us, Master, when you come to the kingdom of Xi (bow)
.
Remember us, Saints, when you come to the kingdom of Xi (bow)

The face of heaven sings to Thee and says:
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts, fill heaven and earth with Your glory.
Come to Him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be ashamed. The face of heaven sings
to You and says: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts, fill heaven and earth with Your glory.
Glory:
The assembly of saints, angels and archangels, with all the heavenly powers, sings to You and says: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts, fill heaven and earth with Your glory.
And now: Confession of the Orthodox Faith, First Council.
I believe in one God the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God, the only begotten, who was born of the Father before all ages. Light from Light, true God from true God, born, not created, consubstantial with the Father, by Him all things were.
For our sake, man, and for our salvation, came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary became human.
Crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered and was buried.
And he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures.
And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father.
And again the coming one will be judged with glory by the living and the dead, but His kingdom has no end.
Second Council:
And in the Holy Spirit, the true and life-giving Lord, who proceeds from the Father, who is worshiped and glorified with the Father and the Son, who spoke the prophets.
And into one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the remission of sins.
I hope for the resurrection of the dead.
And the life of the next century. Amen.
We don’t say this in the liturgy:
Weaken, forsake, forgive, O God, our sins, voluntary and involuntary, even in word and in deed, both in knowledge and not in knowledge, even in mind and in thought, even in days and nights, forgive us all, for it is good and Lover of humanity.
Also, Our Father. And after the exclamation or prayer of Jesus, the kontakia are spoken, first to the temple, and then to the day: the same, the holy one.
Glory:
With the saints is peace, O Christ, the soul of His servant, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but eternal life.
And now, Mother of God:
Unashamed intercessor of Christians, immutable intercessor to the Creator, do not despise the voices of sinners’ prayers, but advance as if there is Good for our help, those who truly cry out to Thee: hasten to prayer, and strive to entreat, interceding ever since the Mother of God for those who honor Thee.
Lord have mercy 12
.
Also
the All-Holy Trinity...
If Lent is great, it says:
Lord have mercy
40
.
Glory, even now
.
Most honorable cherub... (great bow)
.
Bless in the name of the Lord, father. For the prayers of the saints, our fathers... Amen. And we make three great bows with the prayer:
Lord and Master to my belly...
And other throwings (12).
Therefore ,
Trisagion
.
And according to
Our Father... Lord have mercy
12
.
Also, this prayer:
The All-Holy Trinity, consubstantial, unpossessed power, and the indivisible kingdom, which is guilty of all good things, be kind to me in this present hour, a sinner, and all my defilements, and enlighten me with the meaning, as I always sing praise to Thee, and praise and say: only one is Holy, There is one Lord Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father, amen.
Blessed be the name of the Lord from now to eternity (three times with bows)
.
Glory, even now.
Also, Psalm 33/>
I will bless the Lord at all times; I will make His praise in my mouth. My soul will glory in the Lord, that the meek may hear and rejoice. Magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. Seek the Lord and hear me, and deliver me from all my sorrows. Come to Him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be ashamed. Behold, the poor cried, and the Lord heard, and saved him from all his sorrows. The angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear Him and deliver them. Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man who trusts in Nan. Fear the Lord, all your saints, for there is no hardship for those who fear Him. Those who become poor and hungry are rich, but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good. Come, children, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is a person who even lives, loves the days and sees good things; Keep your tongue from evil, and do not speak flattery with your lips. Turn away from evil, and do good, seek peace, and marry, etc. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are upon their prayer. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to consume their memory from the earth. You have exalted the righteous, and the Lord has heard them, and delivered them from all their sorrows. The Lord is near to those who are broken in heart, and will save those who are humble in spirit. Many are the sorrows of the righteous, and the Lord will deliver me from all of them. The Lord protects all their bones, and not one of them will be broken. Death is cruel to a sinner, and those who hate the righteous will sin. The Lord will deliver the soul of His servant, and all who trust in Nan will not sin.
It is worthy to eat, for truly you are blessed, the Mother of God, ever-blessed and most immaculate, and the Mother of our God. The most honorable cherub, and the most glorious truly seraphim, who without corruption gave birth to God the Word, the real Mother of God, we magnify Thee. And bow to the ground all the same.
Glory, even now.
Lord have mercy
(twice)
.
God bless. And three bows.
Also, let go of the initiative. Upon dismissal, the clergy sing:
Amen.
God preserve many years, and have mercy on the Russian state, God save, and have mercy on our lord, His Eminence, the Metropolitan (name of the rivers)
and the father of our spiritual ones, and all Christians, Lord, save.
Lord have mercy (three times)
.
And the usual initial bows.
Hour Three.
Come, let us worship the King our God.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God.
Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God.
Psalm 16:
Hear, O Lord, my righteousness, listen to my prayer, bring my prayer not into flattering lips. From Your presence my destiny will come, let my eyes see righteousness. You have tempted my heart, you have visited me at night, you have tempted me, and iniquity will not be found in me. For let not my mouth speak of the deeds of men; for the words of Thy walls I have kept cruel ways. Make my steps in Thy paths, and let not my feet go astray. I cried, because you heard me, God, incline your ear to me and hear my words. Surprise Your mercy, save those who trust in You from those who resist Your right hand. Save me, Lord, like the apple of your eye, cover me in the blood of Your wing. From the face of the wicked, who have enraged me, have conquered my soul. You shut up your fat, your mouth speaks of pride. Those who cast me out have now despised me, and have cast their eyes upon the earth. Having declared me like a lion ready to hunt and like a skiman who dwells in secret places. Arise, Lord, precede me and stifle them, deliver my soul from the wicked, Thy weapon from Thy enemy’s hand. Lord, from the little ones of the earth, I divided them in their bellies, and filled their bellies with your hidden ones, being satisfied with sons, and leaving the remains for my own children. But I will appear before Thy face with righteousness, I will be satisfied, and Thy glory will ever appear to me.
Psalm 24:
To You, Lord, I have lifted up my soul, my God, in You I have trusted, so that I will not be ashamed forever; let my enemies laugh at me, for all those who endure You will not be ashamed. Let the wicked be ashamed in vain. Tell me Your ways, Lord, and teach me Your paths. Guide me in Your truth, and teach me that You are the God of my Savior, and I have endured You all day long. Remember Your bounties, O Lord, and Your mercies, as they have been since time immemorial. The sin of my youth, and my ignorance, do not remember; by Your mercy, remember me, for the sake of Your goodness, Lord. The Lord is good and right; for this reason He will give a law to those who sin along the way. He will guide the meek in judgment, He will teach the meek in His way. All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth, to those who seek His covenant and His testimonies. For the sake of Your name, Lord, and cleanse my sin, for there is much. Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will lay the law on his path according to his will. His soul will settle in good things, and his seed will inherit the earth. The Lord is the power of those who fear Him, and He will show His covenant to them. I will lift up my eyes to the Lord, for He will pluck out my eyes from the snare. Look upon me and have mercy on me, for I am the only begotten and the poor. The sorrows of my heart have multiplied, and lead me away from my needs. See my humility and my work, and forgive all my sins. My enemies have seen how they have multiplied, and they have hated me with unrighteous hatred. Save my soul and deliver me, so that I will not be ashamed because I trusted in You. I cling to kindness and justice, for I have suffered Thee, Lord. Deliver, O God, Israel from all his sorrows.
Psalm 50:
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your compassions, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; For I know my iniquity, and I will bear away my sin before me. I have sinned against You alone and have done evil before You, so that You may be justified in Your words and triumph over Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have shown me Your unknown and secret wisdom. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. There is joy and gladness in my ears; the bones of the humble will rejoice. Turn away Your face from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create a pure heart in me, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Give me the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked your way, and wickedness will turn to you. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; my tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a contrite and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then take pleasure in the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; then they will place your calf on the altar.
Glory, and now:
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, glory to you God. Three times.
Lord, have mercy, three times.
Glory, troparion for the day.
And now: Theotokos :
Mother of God, You are the true vine, / Who has grown for us the Fruit of life, / We pray to You: / We pray, O Lady, with the saints, the Apostles / to have mercy on our souls.

And now, the Mother of God: Unashamed Intercessor of Christians, immutable Intercessor to the Creator, do not despise the voices of sinners’ prayers, but precede those who faithfully cry out to Thee for the Good to help us: hasten to prayer, and strive to entreat, interceding ever since the Mother of God for those who honor Thee.
Lord have mercy (12). Also the All-Holy Trinity.
If the fast is great, the verb is: Lord have mercy (40). Glory, even now. Most honorable cherub (great bow). Bless in the name of the Lord, father. For the prayers of the saints, our fathers... Amen. And we make three great bows with the prayer: Lord and Master to my belly. And other throwings (12). Therefore, Trisagion.
And according to Our Father: Lord have mercy (12).
Also, this prayer: The All-Holy Trinity, consubstantial, unpossessed power, and the indivisible kingdom, which is guilty of all good things, be kind to me in this present hour, a sinner, and all my filth, and enlighten me with the meaning, as I always glorify Thee, and glorify and I say: there is one Holy One, one Lord Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father, amen.
May the name of the Lord be blessed from now to eternity (three times with bows).
Glory, even now.
Also, Psalm 33
Lord have mercy (twice). God bless. And three bows.
Also, let go of the initiative. Upon dismissal, the clergy sing: Amen. God bless us for many years, and have mercy on the Russian state, God save us, and have mercy on our lord, His Eminence, the Metropolitan (name of the rivers), and the father of our spiritual ones, and all Christians, Lord, save us.
Lord have mercy (three times).
And the usual initial bows.
Hour Six.
Come, let us worship the King our God.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God.
Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God.
And psalms: Psalm 53:
God, in Your name save me, and in Your power judge me. God, hear my prayer, inspire the words of my mouth. As strangers rose up against me and sought my soul with strength, and did not offer God before them. Behold, God helps me, and the Lord is the Protector of my soul. Turn away the evil from my enemies; consume them with Your truth. I will devour You, I will confess to Your name, Lord, that it is good that You have delivered me from all sorrow, and that my eye has looked upon my enemies.
Psalm 54:
Inspire, O God, my prayer and do not despise my prayer. Listen to me and hear me: I was grieved by my sadness and was confused. From the voice of the enemy and from the oppression of the sinner, who turned away iniquity against me and in anger enmity me. My heart is in turmoil and the fear of death attacks me. Fear and trembling came upon me and darkness covered me. And he said: who will give me a krill like a dove, and I can fly and rest? He went away in flight and settled in the desert. I hope for God, who saves me from cowardice and from storms. Flood, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for you have seen lawlessness and strife in the city. Day and night he will walk along its walls. Lawlessness and labor are in the midst of it and untruth. And his wealth and flattery did not become scarce. As if the enemy had reviled me, I would have suffered slaughter, and if the hater had spoken against me, I would have hidden from him. But you, indifferent man, my master and my friend, who so much enjoyed being with me, walked in the house of God with like-mindedness. May death come upon her, and may they descend into hell and live, for wickedness is in their dwellings, in the midst of them. I cried to God, and the Lord heard me. Evening and morning and noon I will tell, and I will proclaim, and he will hear my voice. He will deliver my soul in peace from those who approach me, as they fought with me in many troubles. God will hear and humble me, who was before the age. For they will not change, as if they did not fear God. Stretch out your hand for retribution, profaning His covenant. His face was separated from the wrath, and their hearts drew near, and their words were quenched more than oil, which are arrows. Cast your sorrow upon the Lord, and He will feed you, and will not give the reputation of the righteous forever. But you, God, have brought them down into the state of decay; men of blood and flattery will not spend half their days. But, Lord, I trust in You.
Psalm 90:
Living in the help of the Most High, he will dwell in the blood of the Heavenly God. Says the Lord: You are my protector and my refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. For He will deliver you from the net of the trap and from the words of rebellion, His splash will overshadow you, and under His krill you hope that His truth will surround you with weapons. Do not fear from the fear of the night, from the arrow that flies in the days, from the things that pass in the darkness, from the grime and the demon of the midday. Thousands will fall from your country, and darkness will be at your right hand, but it will not come close to you, but look with your eyes, and see the reward of sinners. For You, O Lord, are my hope, You have made the Most High your refuge. Evil will not come to you and wound will not approach your body, as His Angel commanded you about you, to keep you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their arms, but when you dash your foot against a stone, you will step on the asp and the basilisk, and cross the lion and the serpent. For I have trusted in Me, and I will deliver, and I will cover, because I have known My name. He will call to Me and I will hear him, I am with him in sorrow, I will destroy him and glorify him, I will fulfill him with the length of days and show him My salvation.
Glory, and now:
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, glory to you God. Three times.
Lord, have mercy, three times.
Glory, troparion for the day.
And now: Theotokos :
For not the imams have boldness for our many sins, / You who are born of You pray, O Virgin Mother of God, / for much more can prayer be more motherly for the goodness of the Lord. / Do not despise the prayers of sinners, O All-Pure One, / for He is merciful and able to save, / Who is willing to suffer for us.
Let Your compassions soon precede us, O Lord, / as we are so poor; / help us, O God, our Savior, / glory for the sake of Your Name, Lord, deliver us / and cleanse our sins, for Your Name’s sake.

Lord have mercy, three times. Glory, and now:
The most honorable Cherub / and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, / who gave birth to God the Word without corruption, / the real Mother of God, we magnify Thee.
Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, have mercy on us. Amen.
The same prayer of St. Basil the Great:
God and Lord of hosts and all creation to the Creator, Who for the mercy of Thy unconditional mercy Thy Only Begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, sent down for the salvation of our race, and honorable By His Cross the handwriting of our sins was torn to pieces, and thus the principles and powers of darkness were conquered. Yourself, Lord, the Lover of Mankind, accept us sinners, these thanksgiving and prayer prayers and deliver us from every all-destructive and dark sin and all those who embitter us who seek visible and invisible in rag. Nail Thy fear into our flesh and do not turn our hearts into words or thoughts of deceit, but wound our souls with Thy love, yes, always looking to You and shining light on You. We place You, the unapproachable and ever-present seeing Light, to You we send unceasing confession and thanksgiving , To the Beginningless Father with Your Only Begotten Son and Your All-Holy, and Good, and Life-Giving Spirit, now and forever, and to the ages of ages, Amen.
“Some issues of modern practice of celebrating Obednitsa”
Nowadays, a situation often arises when a priest, having served in one parish, is forced to serve in other churches on the same day. Often we have to give communion to people in the second (third) church. However, sometimes a priest cannot serve the liturgy due to health reasons, but he prepared to receive communion himself and can give communion to parishioners.
This rite presupposes the communion of parishioners at mass without performing the liturgy, which, according to the compiler, is in demand in modern practice. The rite has added the popular litanies with remembrance of health and repose, undoubtedly necessary for the divine service performed in the parish church instead of the Divine Liturgy.
The rite of the monastery with reading of the Gospel and communion
Deacon: Bless, master! Priest: Blessed be our God... First antiphon. Psalm 102. Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Glory, even now: Prayer of entry: Sovereign Lord our God, enlightening the world with the light of Your Gospel, enlighten us with the entrance of Your saints to hear Your Divine words. For all glory, honor and worship are due to You, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.[1]Entrance with the Gospel. Troparions for a holiday or day. Glory to Thee, Lord, glory to Thee. Serious (and funeral) litany.
Remember us, Lord, when You come to Your Kingdom. Remember us, Master, when you come to Your Kingdom. Remember us, Holy One, when You come to Your Kingdom. The Heavenly Face sings to You and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts, fill Heaven and earth with Your glory. Verse: Come to Him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be ashamed. The Heavenly Face sings to You and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts, fill Heaven and earth with Your glory. Glory: The Face of the Holy Angels and Archangels, with all the Heavenly Powers, sings to You, and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts, fill Heaven and earth with Your glory. And now: the Symbol of Faith, the priest opens the antimension, places the chalice and paten on it, makes a prostration, takes out the required amount of Spare Gifts from the tabernacle, puts particles on the paten, pours warmth into the chalice, censes the star and shrouds, covers the Gifts on the paten together with the chalice air, cense. Bows down. Weaken, forgive, God forgive our sins, voluntary and involuntary, even in word and in deed, even in knowledge and not in knowledge, even in days and in nights, even in mind and thought: forgive us all, for you are Good and Lover of Mankind.
Litany of Petition: Let us fulfill the prayer until our Christian death... Priest: And grant us, O Master, with boldness and without condemnation to dare to call on You, Heavenly God the Father, and say: Chorus: Our Father. Priest: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Lik: Amen. Also: Peace to all. Lik: And to your spirit. Deacon: Bow your heads to the Lord. Lik: To you, Lord. The priest prays: We give thanks to You, the invisible King, with whose innumerable power you have wrought all things, and by the multitude of your mercy you have brought all things from non-existence into being. Yourself, Master, look down from heaven upon His head bowed to You, not for bowing flesh and blood, but to You, the terrible God. You are the Master, who is present for all of us for good, according to each of your needs: float to those who swim, travel to those who travel, heal the sick, Physician of souls and bodies. Proclamation: By the grace and compassion and love of Thy Only Begotten Son, with Him art Thou blessed, with Thy Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Lik: Amen. Look forth, Lord Jesus Christ our God, from Thy holy habitation, and from the throne of glory of Thy Kingdom, and come and sanctify us, who sit on the mountain with the Father, and dwell here invisibly for us. And grant us, by Your sovereign hand, Your Most Pure Body and Honest Blood, and to all of us. He also bows three times and exclaims: Let us go. Holy to holies. The priest takes off the air and receives communion (if he has not received communion before) with a particle of the Spare Gifts. If the priest received communion on this day, he reverently pours the particles into the chalice. Reader: All-Holy Trinity, Consubstantial Power, Undivided Kingdom, the Wine of all good things, be kind to me, a sinner, strengthen, enlighten my heart, and take away all my filth. The priest, having presented the Gifts, takes the holy paten, hands it to the deacon, the deacon, without saying anything, goes into the offering and delivers Them. The priest, having bowed and received the holy chalice, says secretly: Blessed is our God, and turning to the door, in vain to the people, exclaims: Always, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Lik: Amen. May our lips be filled with Thy praise, Lord, for we sing Thy glory, for Thou hast made us worthy to partake of Thy Holy, Divine, immortal and life-giving Mysteries, keep us in Thy shrine all day long and learn from Thy righteousness. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Having brought the chalice into the offering, the priest rolls up the antimension and blesses the people: The blessing of the Lord is upon you: Blessed be the Name of the Lord from now on and forever (three times). Hour Nine.
Come, let us worship the King our God.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God.
Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God.
Also psalms. Psalm 83:
If Your village is beloved, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs and ends for the courts of the Lord, my heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God. For the bird will find itself a temple, and the turtle dove a nest where it will lay its young, Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. The blessed ones who live in Your house will praise You forever and ever. Blessed is the man, whose intercession is with You; Put the ascent in your heart, in the vale of tears, in the place of the hedgehog, for the one who lays down the law will give the blessing. They will go from strength to strength: the God of gods will appear in Zion. Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer, inspire, O God of Jacob. Our protector, see, O God, and look upon the face of Thy Christ. For it is better to have one day in Your courts than a thousand: I wish I could wander into the house of my God rather than live in the villages of sinners. Because the Lord loves mercy and truth, God will give grace and glory, the Lord will not deprive the good of those who walk in kindness. Lord God of hosts, blessed is man who trusts in Thee.
Psalm 84:
Thou hast favored, O Lord, Thy land, Thou hast returned the captivity of Jacob: Thou hast forsaken the iniquities of Thy people, Thou hast covered all their sins. Thou hast tamed all Thy anger, thou hast returned from the wrath of Thy wrath. Bring us back, O God of our salvation, and turn away Your wrath from us. Are you angry with us forever? Or will You spread Your wrath from generation to generation? God, You will return to revive us, and Your people will rejoice in You. Show us, Lord, Your mercy, and give us Your salvation. I will hear what the Lord God speaks about me: for He speaks peace against His people, and against His saints, and against those who turn their hearts to Him. Moreover, His salvation is near to those who fear Him, to bring glory to our land. Mercy and truth have met, justice and peace have kissed each other. Truth has risen from the earth, and righteousness has risen from heaven, for the Lord will give goodness, and our land will yield its fruit. Justice will go before Him and set its feet in the way.
Psalm 85:
Incline Your ear, O Lord, and hear me, for I am poor and needy. Save my soul, for I am holy: save Thy servant, O my God, who trusteth in Thee. Have mercy on me, Lord, as I will cry to You all day long. Make glad the soul of Your servant, for I have taken my soul to You. For You, Lord, are Good and Meek, and Most merciful to all who call on You. Inspire, Lord, my prayer, and listen to the voice of my prayer. On the day of my tribulation I cried out to You, because You heard me. I am not like You in God, O Lord, and I am not according to Your work. All the nations that you have created will come and bow before You, Lord, and glorify Your name, for You are Great, and You work wonders, You are the only God. Guide me, Lord, on Your path, and I will walk in Your truth; Let my heart be glad to fear Your name. I will confess to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forever: for Your mercy is great upon me, and You have delivered my soul from the lowest hell. God, the lawbreakers rose up against me, and a host of powers sought my soul, and did not offer it to You before them. And You, Lord my God, Generous and Merciful, Long-suffering, and Much-merciful and true, look upon me and have mercy on me, give Your power to Your servant, and save the son of Your handmaid. Do a sign for good with me, and let those who hate me see and be ashamed, because You, Lord, have helped me and consoled me.
And again: Create a sign for good with me, and let those who hate me see and be ashamed, because You, Lord, have helped me and consoled me.
Glory, and now:

For Thy Name's sake do not betray us to the end, / and do not destroy Thy covenant, / and do not leave Thy mercy from us, / for the sake of Abraham, beloved by You, / and for Isaac, Your servant, / and Israel, Thy holy one.

This prayer is from the Great Basil:
Master Lord, Jesus Christ, our God, long-suffering for our sins and even to the present hour has brought us, hanging on the Life-Giving Tree, to the prudent thief who made the path to paradise You have destroyed the entrance and death of death: cleanse us, sinners and unworthy Thy servant Because we have sinned and are lawless and are not worthy to proclaim our eyes and look up to the heights of Heaven, we have left behind the path of Your righteousness and walked in the wills of our hearts. But we pray to Your immeasurable goodness: spare us, O Lord, according to the multitude of Your mercy, and save us in Your holy name, for having disappeared in the vanity of our days, take us out of the hands of the resistance naked, and forgive us our sins, and put to death our carnal wisdom, yes Having put aside the old man, let us put on the new and live for You, our Master and Benefactor. And so, by Your subsequent command, we will reach eternal rest, where there is a home for all who rejoice. For You are truly the true joy and joy of those who love You, Christ our God, and we send glory to You with Your Beginning Father, and the Most Holy, and the Good, and the Life-giving Spirit, we never, and ever, and unto ages of ages, amen.

I
believe in One God, the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible.
And in the One Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only Begotten, Who was
born of the Father before all ages;
Light from Light, True God from True God, begotten ,
uncreated
,
Consubstantial with the Father, to Him all things
were
.
For our sake, man and our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became human. I
was crucified for us under Pontus

Pilate, and suffered and was buried.
And he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and is now seated at

the Father.
And again judgment

both living

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-Giving One, Who proceeds from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son I

The performance of divine services by the laity in the absence of a priest
According to the instructions of the Divine Service Charter, in the absence of a priest, church services can be performed by lay psalm-readers in the so-called “secular rite” according to the liturgical books, in the order of reading and singing the psalms, stichera, troparia and canons prescribed by the Charter. However, it should be remembered that the laity, under no circumstances(!), have the right without a priest: to dare to perform the Divine Liturgy; the rites of the Church Sacraments (with the exception of the Sacrament of Baptism “fear of death” - which will be discussed below); wear sacred vestments; perform any sacred rites; teach peace and blessings; use the Missal and Breviary; read secret, purely priestly prayers; pronounce exclamations and litanies - so as not to fall into the grave sin of sacrilege and not be condemned by God.
There are statutory rules, guided by which the laity, in the absence of a priest, can perform daily, weekly and annual services, as well as prayers, religious processions, memorial services, litias and funeral services for the dead. We list the most important of them:
1. All services in the absence of a priest are performed outside the altar (the altar is closed, the curtain of the Royal Doors is drawn, the surplice is not worn).
2. All priestly exclamations in all cases are replaced by one: “Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us. Amen".
3. For the litany, in all cases, only “Lord, have mercy” is said: for the great and petitionary litany - 12 times; for a special one – 40 times; for small - 3 times. Instead of an exclamation at the end of the litany, the following is said: “Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers...” (see above).
4. The laity may recite prokemenons, alleluaries and “God is the Lord...” with verses, as a canonarch is supposed to do at a divine service.
5. The laity can read the Parimia, Apostolic and Evangelical Conceptions from the lectern in the middle of the church (not from the pulpit, and especially not from the altar). All preceding and subsequent priestly exclamations (“Let us hear”, “Peace to all”, “Wisdom, forgive”, “And be honored with us...”, etc.) are omitted. Only the name of the concept is pronounced, for example: “The Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to Thessalonians reading”, “Reading from Luke of the Holy Gospel”, and then the text of the concept is immediately read. In the absence of a liturgical Apostle and the Gospel, the texts of the beginnings can be determined by the numbers of chapters and verses, and read them according to the ordinary text of the New Testament. When reading, no imitation of a deacon's or priest's voice intonation is acceptable - you need to read simply, clearly, loudly enough, observing semantic pauses and intervals.
6. Censing is performed only with a manual (home) censer. A piece of incense is placed on a hot coal and made the sign of the cross with the prayer: “In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen". Each movement is performed with a three-time cross-shaped movement of the hand with the censer: a) twice vertically - from top to bottom; b) once horizontally – from left to right ( ). During long censing, the 50th Psalm is usually read to oneself. During a small censing, the same prayer is read as at the beginning of the censing: “In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” Amen".
7. Instead of a liturgical dismissal, a short minor dismissal is pronounced: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, prayers for the sake of Your Most Pure Mother, * our reverend and God-bearing fathers and all saints, have mercy on us. Amen". On dismissal, after commemorating the Mother of God (*), you can also remember the temple saint (to whom the temple is dedicated); a daily saint (to whom the day of the week is dedicated); the saint to whom the service was performed (“we also celebrate his memory today”); and all the saints who are celebrated on this day (“they are also commemorated today”). At the end of the service, the worshipers themselves venerate the Holy Cross, which for this purpose is first placed on a lectern behind the pulpit, or in the middle of the temple next to the temple icon.
Guided by these simple rules, as well as the instructions of the Divine Service Charter (Typikon), every layman, if necessary, if there is no way to be in church, can read church services at home every day. For example, during the years of atheistic persecution, the laity almost everywhere performed secret divine services. In particular, in villages remote from the center and close supervision of atheistic authorities, “informal” houses of worship almost always existed, i.e. Orthodox Christians simply gathered in one hut on great holidays and prayed, composing the service as best they could. This was especially common when someone died in the village - all the churches in the area, for example, were closed, and people could not say goodbye to the person without prayer. And so, the old women read and sang the funeral rite, omitting the priestly exclamations and prayers. This was the case, for example, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, where both Orthodox and Old Believers had similar houses of worship. Another example can be given - until quite recently, many elderly parishioners knew what Obednitsa was. Now this is becoming less and less common. And “Obednitsa” is another name for the part of the Liturgy of the Catechumens – the Figurative (“Sequence of the Figurative” - see the book of the Book of Hours). “Ruling the Obednitsa” is a very ancient tradition of hermits and monastic hermitages, where there was no priest. In the first centuries of the existence of monasticism, monks rarely took orders, and if they did, it was after many years of ascetic practice. To celebrate the Divine Liturgy, monastic communities invited a presbyter, and the rest of the time they prayed on their own, performing the scheduled services without a priest. Under the atheistic government, which closed churches and destroyed the priesthood, many Orthodox people returned to this ancient tradition. The recently deceased oldest parishioner of the Danilov Monastery, Schema-nun Daniel (in the world Praskovya Emelyanovna Machkina), who survived all these terrible persecutions, and in her old age, due to weakness, was not able to attend services in the church, read them at home every day, and not only the Obednitsa, but everyone 24 hour services. And now among the parishioners there are many who are interested in the Divine Service Rules and want to learn statutory prayer. Of course, the divine service performed by the laity alone is not complete in the statutory sense (however, the ancient monks probably did not think so), and certainly cannot replace the main divine service - the Divine Liturgy, performed only by a bishop or priest . However, a good skill and habit of participating in divine services also helps the lay readers themselves - it teaches them to competently handle liturgical books, instills an interest in the Church Charter and liturgical texts. When the Octoechos, Menaion and Book of Hours become not a “dark forest”, but sources of knowledge and prayerful inspiration, not only our understanding of the service changes, we ourselves change - after all, these texts, these books were compiled by great ascetics of the faith and joining them provides everyone with enormous spiritual benefits . Christian prayer hymns teach us the correct way to turn to God through the experience of holy ascetics, introducing us into the world of true prayer, into the spiritual life of Orthodoxy. This is especially necessary in our evil, pre-Antichrist time. The Holy Fathers predicted to us that the last Christians would have to take refuge from persecutors and save themselves without their usual native churches. Just as the first Christians hid and prayed in the catacombs, so the last Christians will also have to save themselves in the catacombs and secret settlements. The last Christians will be like the first - without churches and sometimes even without priests.
