Text of the prayer “Virgin Mother of God Rejoice” in Russian with comments and recommendations

Having gone through the sacrament of the birth of the Son of God, the Virgin Mary became the Mother of God. Ascending to heaven after death, she began to be called the Queen of Heaven. Christians treat the Mother of God with special respect and gratitude. They praise her for her kindness and care for the laity.

The prayer “Queen of Heaven” stands out from a number of texts, which were compiled in large numbers by different priests to address the Mother of God. This is a song glorifying her and a plea to turn her gaze on the common man, to help him strengthen his faith, to protect him with a veil from the manifestation of even forces.

Why do they pray to the Queen of Heaven?

After the birth of Jesus Christ, the Mother of God devoted her entire life to him. She was always close to the Savior, preached the Christian faith along with the apostles, and helped in all matters. When her soul went to heaven, she took a place next to her son.

Jesus loves his mother. He tries in every possible way to please her, fulfilling her wishes. The Mother of God, in turn, is devoted to her son, and at the same time she strives to help all people on earth, as if she were her own children. This makes prayers to the Mother of God strong and quickly fulfilled.

Most often, women turn to the Queen of Heaven. It is believed that their problems are closer to her. In fact, a prayer read by a man does not go unnoticed. Our Lady hears her and passes her on to the Savior.

The entire earthly life of the Virgin Mary is well known. She was born into a family of believers. From an early age she believed in God and was singled out among other women. On the Feast of the Intercession at the age of 8, she was brought into the temple, where no woman entered. Still just a child, she asked serious questions to the priests and amazed them with her meekness and knowledge.

The girl Maria grew up at the monastery. She was given in marriage to a worthy man who was chosen as her wife. All the time, Mary lived a righteous, sinless life, worked hard and completely devoted herself to the faith.

Trouble comes when you don't expect it. Is illness for believers a test or a punishment?

When diseases develop, especially severe ones, they first think about treating and eliminating the physical causes of their occurrence. If the disease cannot be treated, they resort to prayer. In such cases, a deterioration in health may indicate that a person has moved away from God, since he turns to him through prayer only when his state of health changes.

But diseases also develop in those who regularly turn to the Almighty. Then how can we understand why our health is deteriorating? In fact, there are 2 reasons: violation of God's commandments; a test that the soul needs to go through that will help it change. Believers most often cannot independently understand why illness is given, because this is God’s plan, which not everyone can know.

For this reason, all changes must be accepted,

happening to the body and spirit, because in any case this is done for the good of the soul.

Moreover, it is important to go through the trials of illness with gratitude, without resorting to despondency. You need to constantly turn to God, you can do this through the Mother of God. A prayer is read to the Mother of God for the health of yourself or your family. But the Almighty forgives sins, therefore they separately turn to our Lord for repentance.

Prayer “Queen of Heaven” in Russian

The prayer text “Queen of Heaven” has been translated into Russian, composed into verses and is easy to remember. You can not only read it, but also hum it to a simple melody. The Mother of God will hear any sincere appeal composed independently by the person praying. But it is better to read the canonical text.

Prayer in Russian is read by believers in cases where moral support is needed. If a person feels that his faith has weakened, that he himself is unable to resist temptations, flattery, the temptation of sin, he should turn his attention to the prayer to the Queen of Heaven and read it.

The Blessed Virgin Mary will understand and hear everyone, regardless of their language. But every person praying must understand the meaning of the text, pronounce each word clearly and correctly, and place emphasis. Therefore, it is best to read the prayer in Russian.

My prayer is my story: “Healing my wife”

“I’ll tell you for my wife, because she is still recovering. Several years ago, a tumor was found on her, and in cases of women’s diseases, they first confirm whether it is malignant. It turned out to be benign and needs to be monitored. That’s what she did, went for examinations every six months, took tests. But a year ago she felt unwell at work and was taken to the ambulance with bleeding. During the examination, it turned out that the tumor had grown sharply; when the results of the study were received, it turned out that it had turned into cancer.

Alexey, 44 years old, Perm

They performed an operation and removed the tumor. After this, a long period of treatment began. There was a lot of chemotherapy and examinations. When they realized that there was little hope, the wife asked to be taken to church to confess. After that, I took communion and began to regularly go to talk with Father.

I could barely find a place for myself. I noticed that I didn’t go to bed without praying for my wife’s health. So she and I came to God, without noticing it ourselves. I found a prayer that helps cancer patients, and that’s how I learned about the miraculous icon of the Mother of God. I went to see her myself, read a prayer, my wife knew, but then because of the chemotherapy she could no longer walk, she was weak. When the last course of treatment had already been completed, the next step was an examination. And here a surprise awaited us - no cancer, remission. So to this day I never tire of thanking the Virgin Mary for her help in healing.”

Interpretation

The text of the prayer “Queen of Heaven” is not simple. It is not read when fulfilling the morning prayer rule. The prayer, composed in poetic form, has choruses and verses. They involve an appeal to the Mother of God for moral help. The Great Martyr is asked to help strengthen her faith, to protect her, to protect her from temptations and sinful desires.

The Most Holy Lady Theotokos is an example of a righteous, sinless life and service to God. She, being an earthly woman, experienced many attempts to tempt her with unclean people, flattery as a way to awaken pride in her, to make her sinful. The Mother of God, like no one else, understands the suffering and doubts of a mere mortal.

She is constantly next to Jesus Christ and asks him for all people to help them and forgive their sins. The Queen of Heaven directs the gaze of the Holy Spirit to those who suffer and ask for spiritual support, believers. So that he would condescend to them, strengthen them in faith, and deliver them from sinful thoughts.

The Song to the Queen of Heaven is a prayer of repentance. In each of its verses there is a request to hear a Christian, guide him along the right path and teach him to atone for his sins in order to appear at the Last Judgment and without fear appear before God, to worthily take a place in the Kingdom of Heaven, in paradise.

Prayer

Oh, Most Holy Lady Lady Theotokos, you are the highest of all Angels and Archangels and all honest creatures, you are the Helper of the offended, the hopeless hope, the poor Intercessor, the sad consolation, the hungry Nurse, the naked robe, the healing of the sick, the salvation of sinners, the help and intercession of all Christians. Oh, All-Merciful Lady, Virgin Mother of God and Lady, by Your mercy save and have mercy on the most holy Orthodox patriarchs, the most Reverend metropolitans, archbishops and bishops and the entire priestly and monastic rank, and all Orthodox Christians through the robe of Your honest protection; and pray, Lady, from You, without seed, Christ our God, incarnate, may gird us with His power from above against our invisible and visible enemies. Oh, All-Merciful Lady Lady Theotokos! Raise us from the depths of sin and deliver us from famine, destruction, from cowardice and flood, from fire and sword, from the presence of foreigners and internecine warfare, and from vain death, and from the attacks of the enemy, and from corrupting winds, and from deadly plagues, and from all evil. Grant, O Lady, peace and health to Thy servant, all Orthodox Christians, and enlighten their minds and the eyes of their hearts, leading to salvation; and we, Thy sinful servants, have been made worthy of the Kingdom of Thy Son, Christ our God, for His power is blessed and glorified, with His Beginning Father and with His Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Troparion, tone 2

A warm prayer and an insurmountable wall, a source of mercy, a refuge for the world, we diligently cry out to Ti: Mother of God, Lady, advance us and deliver us from troubles, the only one who will soon intercede.

Troparion, tone 8

The secretly commanded reception in the mind, in the blood of Joseph, with diligence, the incorporeal one appeared, saying in an unartificial manner: He who bowed down by the descent of heaven is invariably contained entirely in Thee; Seeing Him in Your wombs, having assumed the form of a slave, I am horrified to call You: Rejoice, Unmarried Bride.

Kontakion, tone 6

The intercession of Christians is shameless, the intercession to the Creator is immutable, do not despise the voices of sinful prayers, but advance, as the Good One, to the aid of us who faithfully call Thee: hasten to prayer and strive to supplicate, ever interceding, the Mother of God, those who honor Thee.

Kontakion, tone 6

There are no other imams of help, no other imams of hope, unless You, Lady, help us, we rely on You and boast in You, for we are Your servants, let us not be ashamed.

How to pray correctly

The song to the Queen of Heaven is repentance and a request to heal spiritual wounds. The text is read to strengthen faith and heal from terrible illnesses. Cancer patients often resort to its power. You can also read powerful prayers for cancer.

Usually, after the prayer rule, a candle is lit in front of the icon of the Mother of God in the crown - the Queen of Heaven, and the test is read or sung several times. If repetition three times is not enough and mental relief is not felt, the number of readings should be increased. At the end of each prayer, you should bow from the waist and cross yourself three times.

Having read the prayer to the end the required number of times, you should thank the Mother of God: for everything you have, for future help, and you can go about your business. There is no need to blow out the candle, let it burn out. It must be placed in a place where it will not fall and cause trouble.

Before reading the prayer text “Queen of Heaven,” you should be in the right mood. There should be no bad thoughts left in your head. If you offended someone, then you need to forgive him and ask for protection for yourself, imagining your future without the negative influence of enemies.

For spiritual enlightenment and confirmation in faith, while reading the prayer, you should imagine your pure righteous life after the soul finds peace, doubts go away and faith becomes strong, unshakable by temptations and flattery.

Questions for the priest

The origin of the title of Queen of Heaven and why is the Mother of God called that?

The name Queen of Heaven has ancient roots that stretch back to paganism. In the pre-Christian period, some goddesses were called this way. The treatment options were different: Lady of the Sky, Mistress of the Sky, Lady of Heaven. Several goddesses were awarded this title: Hera, Hathoor, Inanna, Anat. More often than others in mythology, the goddess Isis is mentioned under the name of the Heavenly Queen. She represents the first goddesses who were worshiped in Ancient Egypt. When Alexander the Great conquered the country of the pyramids, the image of Isis was combined with Demeter, revered in Greece, and they began to pray to her as the Lady of Heaven.

In his eleventh book in the novel “The Golden Ass,” Lucius Apuleius described scenes of his characters praying to the “Queen of Heaven.” In the same book, in chapter 47, the ancient Egyptian chronicler describes a case when Isis herself answered his prayer to the Queen of Heaven.

Herodotus is a Greek scientist, back in the 5th century BC. e. described Isis as the only goddess who was called the Queen of Heaven and was prayed to her only as such.

With the advent of Christianity, pagan polytheism disappeared into oblivion. But people still remember the appeal to the most important and powerful goddess on Olympus, “The Queen of Heaven.” When the Virgin Mary completed her earthly journey and Archangel Michael carried her soul to heaven, the old tradition was revived. The Most Holy Theotokos began to be called the Heavenly Queen.

For the first time such an appeal to Mary was used in the appeal of Archangel Michael, when he descended to earth and announced the birth of the Savior. In many prayers, the Mother of God is called the queen.

The prayer text “Queen of Heaven,” addressed to the Mother of God, in the form of a repentant song, belongs to ancient prayers. In its first version in ancient Greek, it appeared in the first century after the birth of Christ. Having undergone some changes, through the centuries it came to us in the form of a song to the Most Holy Mother of God, the main woman next to God.

Listen to the choir

A beautiful song with the prayer text “Queen of Heaven”, when played in the house, will cleanse its space of negative energy and fill it with light and grace. On the Internet it is easy to find performances of the song by different church groups.

You should listen to the prayer online while standing in front of the images, facing the icon of the Mother of God - our Heavenly Queen.

Reading the prayer text “Queen of Heaven” will replace repentance in church for a Christian and strengthen him morally. If it is not possible to visit the temple, and your soul is heaviness and turmoil, recite the prayer of repentance or listen to it regularly at home.

Prayer for healing from cancer

The text is read in front of the miraculous icon. At the same time, the prayer hopes for help in healing ailments, the protection of the Ever-Virgin with her omophorion, as well as deliverance from despair in a serious illness. The person praying calls on the Mother of God to soften hardness of heart and strengthen him in case of weakness. They also ask for the blessing of the minds and hands of the healers, so that through them the Mother of God will heal the sick person (newborn or adult).

O Most Pure Mother of God, All-Tsarina!

Hear our much-painful sigh before Your miraculous icon, brought from the inheritance of Athos to Russia, look upon Your children, those who suffer from incurable ailments and fall to Your holy image with faith!

Just as a winged bird covers its chicks, so You, now and ever-living being, have covered us with Your multi-healing omophorion. There, where hope disappears, awaken with undoubted hope. There, where fierce sorrows prevail, they appear with patience and weakness.

There, where the darkness of despair has settled in the souls, let the ineffable light of the Divine shine!

Comfort the faint-hearted, strengthen the weak, grant softening and enlightenment to hardened hearts. Heal Your sick people, O all-merciful Queen!

Bless the minds and hands of those who heal us, may they serve as an instrument of the all-powerful Physician Christ our Savior.

As if You are alive with us, we pray before Your icon, O Lady! Extend Your hand, full of healing and healing, Joy to those who mourn, comfort to those in sorrow, and, having soon received miraculous help, we glorify the Life-Giving and Indivisible Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

Amen.
