The Lord gives life! And only He decides when and to whom to be born. Therefore, for many childless couples, prayer to Him is the only hope of being heard and receiving the honor of giving birth and raising a worthy person. There are cases where even in the most hopeless cases from a medical point of view, a miracle happened and the woman became pregnant. The main thing is to prepare correctly and read the prayer rule so that a miracle happens as early as possible.
How to prepare and read prayers correctly
Before you start praying for the gift of a child, it is recommended to visit a temple and holy places that are famous for their healing properties.
It is advisable to confess and receive communion; it would also be a good idea to fast for a week beforehand. It is better to read the prayer during the period of ovulation. Under no circumstances should you give up what you started; you need to pray in cycles of 21 days. Light candles in front of the images. Pray not only on your own behalf, but also on behalf of your spouse. At the same time, you need to have unshakable faith and a sincere desire to conceive and give birth to a healthy baby. Do not read prayers in a negative state of mind or in a bad mood. This must be done consciously. The text can be read from a page, but it is better to learn the prayer by heart, so you can better understand its meaning.
Don't tell anyone that you are going to pray for a child. It is enough to simply believe that your prayer will be heard and the Lord will have mercy on you. After praying, turn in your own words to the patron you are asking for help.
Before turning to this or that Saint with a request for conception, collect as much information about him as possible in order to have an idea of his life, and also to know in what cases he is approached.
In addition to conception, ask for good health and patience to survive all difficulties.
Who to pray for the conception and birth of a healthy child
In Orthodoxy, there are certain Saints who are usually approached when a woman wants to conceive and give birth to a healthy child. Special prayers have been written for this.
Prayer to the Lord God
The most powerful and effective prayers are to the Lord. He always hears us and helps in solving any problems. God protects us from life’s troubles; the main thing is to sincerely believe.
I listen to You, our Almighty. We appeal to all saints. Hear the prayers of me and my husband, Your servants (your name and the name of your spouse), Lord, Merciful and Almighty. Yes, answer our prayers, send Your help. We beg you, come down to us, the Almighty, do not ignore our prayer speeches, remember Your laws on the prolongation of the race and the multiplication of the human people and become our patron, help with Your help to preserve what You have predicted. God, You created with Your mighty power everything out of nothing and laid the foundation for everything in this world that has no edges: You created the human body in Your likeness and awarded the marital union with the church with the highest secret. Our Lord, have mercy on us, united in conjugal marriage and trusting in Your help, may Your Most High mercy come to us, may we also be ready for reproduction and we will be able to become pregnant with a girl or a boy and look at our children, up to the third and up to the fourth generations, and we will live to a very old age and come to Your Kingdom. I ask You, hear me, O our Almighty Ruler, come to me and give my womb a child. We will not forget Your grace and will serve You obediently together with our children. Amen
Spouses who want to ask the Lord for a child must cleanse themselves of sinful passions and open their hearts to God. It wouldn't hurt to get married. In this case, the marriage will be blessed by the Almighty himself.
Prayer to the Mother of God for conception
In Orthodoxy, the Virgin Mary, the mother of Christ, is the patroness of all women. Those who want to get pregnant, as well as those who are already carrying a child under their hearts, turn to her with prayer. She is an intercessor and protector. Women ask Her for the birth of a healthy baby and the well-being of the family.
Oh, Great Martyr, Most Holy Mother of our Most High Father, our protector. I submit my prayers to Your face and bow with sincere faith. Our most humble one, look into my eyes, which have sinned more than once, I fall before Your face. I want to ask, may my unforgettable prayer be heard by you. I pray that they trust in Your Son to illuminate my darkened darling with the face of Divine grace and may he help to cleanse my mind from dark thoughts, may he pacify my yearning heart and heal the deepest wounds on it. May he put my thoughts in order, direct me to all sorts of good deeds and strengthen my darling with healthy thoughts, may I be forgiven for all the evil I have committed. I ask you, O Glorious Mother of God, deliver me from torture and beg Your Son, may He not deprive me of His Heavenly Kingdom, may He descend to me. As a mother, I rely on you, Healer. Do not refuse my request, help me find the miracle of Heaven, give me the desired child. Oh, our Holy Great Martyr, You complained to everyone to turn to You with purified and sincere faith. Do not let me drown in the deepest routine of my grave sins. I complain about You and sincerely believe in my salvation and hope for Your protection, O Glorious Mother of God. I thank and glorify our Lord for sending boundless marital happiness to me. I beg you, Most Holy Virgin, only through your prayers will the Almighty send a miracle from Heaven to me and my husband, the long-awaited child, may God bestow fruit on my womb. May he be strengthened in me by the will of the Lord and for His Glory. Change the grief of our souls for the happiness given to our parents. Amen.

She distributed her house and property to the poor, dressed in men's clothing and began to call herself by her husband's name. She said about herself that Ksenia died. During her righteous life, she acquired the gift of foresight. She predicted the death of Emperor John Antonovich and Empress Elizabeth. The houses she stayed in received blessings. Oh, holy all-blessed mother Ksenia! You who lived under the shelter of the Most High, who was led and strengthened by the Mother of God, who endured hunger and thirst, cold and heat, reproach and persecution, received the gift of clairvoyance and miracles from God and rested in the shadow of the Almighty.
Now the Holy Church, like a fragrant flower, glorifies you. Standing before the image of your saints, as if you were alive, we pray to you who are with us: accept our petitions and bring them to the Throne of the Merciful Heavenly Father, as you have boldness towards Him, ask those who flow to you (names) eternal salvation, and for good deeds and undertakings our generous blessing, deliverance from all troubles and sorrows. Stand before our All-Merciful Savior with your holy prayers for us, unworthy and sinners.
Help, Holy Blessed Mother Xenia, illuminate the babies with the light of Holy Baptism and seal the gift of the Holy Spirit, educate the boys and girls in faith, honesty, fear of God and grant them success in learning; heal the sick and ailing, send down love and harmony to families, honor monastics to strive for good deeds and protect them from reproach, strengthen pastors in the strength of the Holy Spirit, preserve our people and country in peace and serenity, pray for those deprived of communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ in the dying hour.
You are our hope and hope, quick hearing and deliverance, we send thanks to you and with you we glorify the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen

Oh, holy great Archangel Gabriel, standing before the Throne of God and illuminated by the illumination of the Divine Light, and enlightened by the knowledge of the incomprehensible mysteries of His eternal wisdom!
I earnestly pray to you, guide me to repentance from evil deeds and to strengthen my faith, strengthen and protect my soul from seductive temptations, and beg our Creator for the forgiveness of my sins.
Oh, holy great Gabriel the Archangel!
Do not despise me, a sinner, who prays to you for help and your intercession in this world and in the future, but an ever-present helper to me, may I unceasingly glorify the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, the power and your intercession forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Matrona of Moscow and the conception and birth of a healthy child
Matrona was the fourth child in a family of poor peasants. The birth of a girl was preceded by miracles. Her mother, in order to get rid of the extra mouth, wanted to give the child to an orphanage, but somehow she dreamed of a bird with a human face, whose eyes were closed.
The woman took this as a sign from God. The dream turned out to be prophetic; the girl was born blind. From early childhood, Matrona helped people with prayer. In gratitude they brought her food, which fed the whole family. At the age of 17, the girl lost her legs. After the revolution, she was left homeless because her family abandoned her.
I turn to our Blessed Matronushka. You, the Most Humble One, always accepting and listening to those who have renounced everything, listen to the prayers and hear me, the grief melting in my soul, bowing before You. Even now Your compassion towards me, a sinner and disobedient woman, will not be taken away. I pray, help us heal the illness of our friendly and sincerely believing family, deliver us from torture and unclean things, help us convey our Cross, given by the Lord God to us. Our most blessed one, trust in the Almighty, pray to him to have mercy on our sinful souls, may he forgive us for all the evil we have done. May he forgive us our sins, anger, hatred, resentment and unclean thoughts. Hope he gives us a healthy and kind boy or girl. We believe and lament the condescension of Yours and our Lord God to have a strong family that looks correctly into the future and exudes warm feelings towards all our neighbors. I turn to the Blessed Matrona. Hear our prayers, do not refuse us our request. Amen.
All her life the saint hid, moving from place to place. Believers looked after her, hiding her in their homes. Before praying, visit the relics of Matrona and pray there.
Prayer to the righteous Joachim and Anna

Oh, the ever-glorious righteous women of Christ, the holy godfathers Joachim and Anno, standing before the Heavenly Throne of the Great King and having great boldness towards Him, as from your Most Blessed Daughter, the Most Pure Mother of God and the Ever-Virgin Mary, who deigned to be incarnate!
We, sinners and unworthy, resort to you, as a powerful intercessor and a zealous prayer book for us. Pray for His goodness, that He may turn away His anger from us, righteously moved against us by our deeds, and may, despising our countless sins, turn us to the path of repentance, and may He establish us on the path of His commandments.
Also, with your prayers, preserve our life in the world, and in all good things, ask for good haste, all that we need from God for life and piety, granting us from all misfortunes and troubles and sudden deaths through your intercession, and protecting us from all enemies, visible and invisible, for let us live a quiet and silent life in all piety and purity, and having passed this temporary life in the world, we will achieve eternal peace, where, through your holy prayer, may we be made worthy of the Heavenly Kingdom of Christ our God, to whom, together with the Father and the Most Holy Spirit, belongs all glory , honor and worship forever and ever. Amen.

Oh, Alexander, who helps all those who suffer, assistant to the Heavenly guardian angels, God-bearing, humble servant of our Mother of God. We, like others who live with Thy mercy, with faith and sincere feelings towards You, turn to prayers for help. Prayer to Seraphim of Sarov
O wonderful Father Seraphim, great Sarov wonderworker, soon an obedient helper to all who come running to you! During the days of your earthly life, no one was tired of you or comforted by your departure, but everyone was blessed by the vision of your face and the benevolent voice of your words. Moreover, the gift of healing, the gift of insight, the gift of healing for weak souls has appeared abundantly in you. When God called you from earthly labors to Heavenly rest, none of your love is simple from us, and it is impossible to count your miracles, multiplying like the stars of heaven: for all over the end of our earth you appeared to the people of God and granted them healing. In the same way, we cry out to you: O most quiet and meek servant of God, daring prayer book to Him, reject no one who calls you! Offer up your powerful prayer for us to the Lord of hosts, may He grant us all that is useful in this life and all that is useful for spiritual salvation, may He protect us from the falls of sin and may He teach us true repentance, so that we can enter without stumbling into the eternal Kingdom of Heaven, where you now in everlasting glory you shine, and there sing with all the saints the Life-Giving Trinity forever and ever. Amen.

The meaning of Saint Alexander of Svirsky in Orthodoxy
The saint was born in the village of Mandera, on the banks of the Oyati River.
The parents of the future ascetic were simple peasants. They really wanted God to give them a son. After long and earnest prayers, we heard the voice of God: “Rejoice, good marriage, you will give birth to a son, in whose birth God will give consolation to His Churches.” In 1448, a boy was born, named Amos. A quiet and meek child from childhood, he was distinguished by his good disposition and spiritual zeal.
The boy observed the fast so strictly that his mother was worried about his health. In adolescence he showed interest in monasticism. At the age of 19, the young man went to the Valaam Monastery. At first he was a novice, and soon became a monk with the name Alexander. From the very beginning of his spiritual life, the monk strove for solitude, prayer and righteous work. Humbling his flesh and spirit, he went to a remote island and lived in a cave, where he dug a grave for himself. This place has remained in its original form to this day. The monk lived in the cave for seven years.
The abbot of the Valaam monastery blessed the saint for hermitage. Alexander went to a remote lake, on the banks of the Svir River, where he settled among the rocks. The ascetic fasted, prayed, and adhered to strict rules of serving God. Over time, many people learned about the righteous man and flocked to him. In place of the secluded refuge, a new monastery arose - the Alexander-Svirsky Monastery.
Due to his spiritual exploits, the monk was honored with a special Divine mercy - the appearance of the Holy Trinity. The ascetic strove for solitude and prayer, but God in a vision ordered the saint to build a church and take over the management of the new monastery. The monk did not dare to disobey the Heavenly Father and became the head of the brethren. Although he still continued to humble his body and spirit: he worked on an equal basis with other monks, humbly served the monastery, and instructed his flock in the Orthodox faith. The abbot introduced himself in 1533, surrounded by faithful disciples.
What do they pray to Alexander Svirsky for?
The monk was canonized in 1547. Saint's memorial days: April 17 and August 30. The relics of Alexander Svirsky were found incorrupt. The saint became famous for his miracles during his lifetime. However, even after his death, he gave his help to Orthodox Christians.
The traditions of the monastery record many stories about miracles that occurred through the heavenly intercession of the elder. Thus, many times people who came to the relics found healing from serious illnesses. Such a case happened with the nobleman Andrei Antonov. The young man fell ill with insanity and body relaxation. His parents took him to the relics of St. Alexander, and soon the sick man became well.
People pray to Alexander Svirsky for healing of infertility. Even in the old days, a certain peasant Afanasy and his wife Evdokia could not give birth to a son for a long time. Then the family went to the monastery, to the relics of the saint. Soon after fervent prayer, the couple had a boy.
Saint Alexander of Svirsky helps those suffering from obsession. Ioann Susov, a resident of a local settlement, who traveled abroad, led an idle life, was struck by a demon. Returning home, the unfortunate man fell into unconsciousness and delirium. The relatives decided to take the suffering man to the monastery of the monk. As soon as John touched the sacred shrine, he immediately regained his sanity.
People in prison can count on the help of an ascetic. St. Alexander delivered Russian soldiers from captivity. They were captured by the Tatars and kept in prison. When the soldiers were praying at night, an old man appeared to them in a miraculous radiance and ordered them to seek the help of the Monk Alexander of Svirsky. Through the prayers of the soldiers, the Greeks soon ransomed them from captivity, and the captives ended up in their homeland.
How to Pray for the Pregnancy You Want
A baby is a gift from God, and in order to become worthy of receiving it, you need to come to the Lord and reunite with Him. Prayer helps us with this, because it is a kind of dialogue with God. Faith without good deeds is dead, so prayer alone will not be enough; you need to combine it with deeds to achieve maximum effect.
People who ask God for a long-awaited child must change spiritually and try to get rid of sinful passions. Confess at least once a month. A person is constantly exposed to temptation, so it is very important not to forget about it. Sincerely believe that the Lord will help and you will become happy parents of a healthy child.
Inexhaustible Chalice
Legends are formed about the icon “The Inexhaustible Chalice” among believers. It is impossible to confuse this icon with another: the image depicts the face of the Mother of God and the Child of God, located in a bowl standing in front of the mother, both with their hands raised up. Believers all over the world offer prayers looking at this icon, because it is considered the most effective for treating alcoholism.
It is believed that the bowl depicted on the icon represents:
- tempting cup;
- a cup of destructive influence on the family and human destiny;
- a cup that destroys a person’s personality and consciousness.
There is a special prayer for drunkenness, calling on higher powers to save a person. Like the icon itself, it is called “The Inexhaustible Chalice”:
The words of this appeal to the Mother of God have truly miraculous power; millions of sufferers were not only cured of a malicious illness with the help of this prayer, many eyewitnesses confirm that the healing sent down is also accompanied by a change in the worldview of drunkards. After getting rid of the shackles of alcohol, many former alcoholics change their lifestyle, take the right path and themselves begin to help others give up their addictions.
