We usually turn to God Jesus Christ for help when bad weather has already entered our lives and we cannot overcome it on our own. It is precisely turning to God in the morning, immediately after waking up, that will protect you from any troubles in life and fill the day with Divine energy. This will give you strength and faith for a successful day, filled only with light and goodness. The Orthodox prayer for the coming day will help the laity with this, which is usually read in the morning, as soon as a person wakes up.
Daily Morning Prayer
A person in whose soul a place has been assigned to God and His Saints also devotes the beginning of the day to serving the Almighty. Just like going to bed, cooking, any activity is accompanied by sacred texts. In the morning we ask for help in the coming day, bright thoughts and pure intentions. And in the evening we express gratitude to God for the given day, successful and successful throughout the entire time.
Prayer for the coming day allows a person to tune in to spiritual grace and carry this feeling throughout the day, illuminating with spirituality everyone with whom there is a need to meet. Below we present the main text of the prayer for the coming day. It will help a layman free his mind from material thoughts and tune in to spirituality for the whole day.
Prayer text
Lord, let me meet with peace of mind everything that this day will give me.
Lord, let me completely surrender to Your Holy will. Lord, at every hour of this day, instruct and support me in everything. Lord, reveal to me Your will for me and those around me. Lord, whatever news I receive during the day, let me accept it with a calm soul and a firm conviction that everything is Your Holy will. Lord, Great, Merciful, guide my thoughts and feelings in all my deeds and words; in all unforeseen circumstances, do not let me forget that everything was sent down by You.
Lord, let me act wisely with each of my neighbors, without upsetting anyone or embarrassing anyone.
Lord, give me strength to endure the weariness of this day and all the events during it. Guide my will and teach me to pray and love everyone unfeignedly.
Amen.
There is some rule in saying the morning prayer. Before pronouncing the main text of the prayer, it is necessary to say phrases in which the person does not ask for anything, but simply praises the Almighty, expressing gratitude to Jesus Christ for his attention and help in all his affairs. After which, you can proceed to the main text of the prayer for the next day. In it, a Christian hopes for the blessing of the Lord, the salvation of a sinful soul and help in everyday troubles.
Five blessings for the coming day
Every new day is a blessing from God. Each day that comes brings new opportunities for us to grow spiritually, experience God's goodness, and become more like Jesus. Aren't you happy to be alive today?
Every morning we are given the opportunity to decide what to do in the coming day. Will we greet the new day with joy, knowing that God made it, or will we greet the day with sadness? Are we eager to accomplish everything God wants us to do today, or are we worried about the bad things that could happen at any moment today? May God help us to honor Him every waking moment and begin our day strengthened by His strength. The following Bible verses will help us start and live the day ahead on the right foot.
Seek God every day. Matthew 6:31-34
“Therefore do not worry and say, “What shall we eat?” or what to drink? or what to wear? because the pagans seek all this, and because your Heavenly Father knows that you need all this. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things: each day’s own troubles are enough.”
Stay in God's Word daily. Joshua 1:7-9
“...just be strong and very courageous, and carefully keep and fulfill all the law that Moses My servant commanded you; Do not turn away from it, either to the right or to the left, so that you may act wisely in all your undertakings. Let not this book of the law depart from thy mouth; but study in it day and night, so that you do exactly everything that is written in it: then you will be successful in your ways and will act wisely. Here I command you: be strong and courageous, do not be afraid and do not be dismayed; For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Receive God's mercies daily. Lamentations 3:22-27
“...by the mercy of the Lord we did not disappear, for His mercy did not fail. It is updated every morning; Great is Your faithfulness! The Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will trust in Him. The Lord is good to those who trust in Him, to the soul that seeks Him. It is good for him who patiently waits for salvation from the Lord. It is good for a man when he bears the yoke in his youth.”
Communicate with God Daily - Matthew 6:9-13
“Pray like this: Our Father who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen".
Rejoice daily in what the Lord has done. Psalm 117:19-24
“Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter into them and glorify the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous will enter into them. I praise You that You heard me and became my salvation. The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner: this is from the Lord, and is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the Lord has made: let us rejoice and be glad on it!”

The beneficial effect of prayer on the coming day
Reading a prayer in the morning and turning to God helps a person throughout the day. Charging it with good luck and pushing misfortune aside. Next, we will outline the basic rules for morning prayer texts.
It is customary to read a prayer for the coming day before starting any business. A believer feels the need to thank the Almighty immediately after waking up for the gift of a day that can be spent in serving God and people. In the modern world, it is rarely possible to provide the morning with enough time to spend in prayer, reading sacred scriptures, church texts in front of the home altar with the faces of the Saints. In this case, the laity are given the opportunity to recite a short version of the prayer for the coming day, which can be read even while still in bed. God will definitely hear your request and fill the previous day with spirituality. Welcoming the new day with morning prayer, Jesus Christ gives the layman peace of mind and fills his thoughts with purity and righteousness.

God's Promises for the Christian
The Bible contains many of God's promises to believers. The main promise for a Christian is eternal life.
“The promise which He promised us is eternal life” (1 John 2:25)
Christianity is not a way to improve only your earthly life. First of all, this is a way to improve the state of the soul and destiny in eternity. The Bible aims us at the Kingdom of God. People who come to God only to receive something have not yet become truly disciples of Christ.
We need to set our priorities correctly: the eternal, then the temporary. At the same time, Scripture says that God knows what we need and is able to take care of and bless us.
How promises work
Promises tell us what God wants to do or give to us. However, they do not act unconditionally. There is our part, which we fulfill, and God fulfills His. Christianity is based on a relationship with the Creator.
For example, consider the promise from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
“So do not worry and say, “What shall we eat?” or “what to drink?” or “what should I wear?” Because the pagans are looking for all this, and because your Heavenly Father knows that you need all this. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Holy Gospel of Matthew 6:31-33)
Here Christ teaches about trusting God. Heavenly Father knows our needs and invites us not to worry, but to trust Him and put His Kingdom and righteousness first. This is our part. His part is to make sure that everything else follows. If this order is reversed, the promise does not work.
Characteristics of God's Blessings
A person can achieve everything on his own, but there is an important difference between the blessings that God gives. Look:
“The blessing of the Lord makes you rich and brings no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22)
This is a perfect gift. He meets our needs and does no harm. How does it work? Let's look at the example of wealth.
Scripture says that the root of all evil is the love of money. If a person is motivated by it, he may accumulate wealth, but in the end money will become a net in which he will become entangled and lose his soul. However, God can give us wealth if He knows that we will use it correctly and it will not spoil us. For example, Abraham and Job were wealthy people, but faithful to the Lord.
When God blesses, it is a perfect blessing, there are no flaws or pitfalls in it. In the letter of James we read about this:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning” (James 1:17)
There is a short story in the Old Testament about a man named Jabez. It is given only two verses, but the prayer of Jabez is known throughout the world. It is said about him that his mother gave birth to him in suffering, and his life was marked by pain. But he cried out to God to change his fate.
“Jabez was more famous than his brothers. His mother gave him the name Jabez, saying: I gave birth to him with illness. And Jabez cried out to the God of Israel and said: Oh, that You would bless me with Your blessing, enlarge my borders, and Your hand would be with me, protecting me from evil, so that I would not grieve!.. And God sent down to him what he asked ” (1 Chronicles 4:9,10)
Jabez speaks important words: “If You would bless me with Your blessing.” He understood that only God's blessing is perfect, and he sought it.
You can achieve everything without asking God for His will. But it is much better to trust Him and His promises. Put His Kingdom first, and then the rest will follow and will not bring sorrow with it.
What God Promises in His Word
The Apostle Paul expressed God’s amazing desire to bless us this way:
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)
God loves us so much that He paid the ultimate price for our salvation. We can be sure that He will give us everything we need. He is a generous God and He wants to bless us. These are some of His promises.
Blessing of Abraham
God made a promise to Abraham:
“And I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing; I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you; and through you all the families of the earth will be blessed” (Genesis 12:2,3)
Indeed, we see how the Savior was born through the descendants of Abraham, and all nations were blessed because of this. However, Scripture calls Abraham and the believers children, so this promise applies to us. The church has spread over the entire face of the earth, and all nations are being blessed through the preaching of the gospel.
We can also apply the promise to ourselves personally. The conditions under which Abraham's blessing operates are faith and obedience to God.
Promise of Prosperity
God knows that we need food, clothing, a roof over our heads and other material resources to live. He is ready to give it to us in abundance, not only to meet our needs, but also so that we can give to those in need.
“My God will supply all your need according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19)
“But that you may remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to obtain wealth, so that you may perform His covenant as it is today, which He swore to your fathers” (Deuteronomy 8:18).
There are conditions for this promise to be fulfilled. We named one of them - to seek first of all the Kingdom of God and righteousness. The second is humility and fear of the Lord.
“Following humility comes the fear of the Lord, wealth, glory, and life” (Proverbs of Solomon 22:4)
To be humble means to think of ourselves according to what God says about us, no more, but no less. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, it is written elsewhere in the book of Proverbs. This is the fear of sinning and upsetting the Lord. To have the fear of the Lord means to value your relationship with God and revere Him.
“The Lord will open to you His good treasury, the heavens, so that it may give rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hands; and you will lend to many nations, but you yourself will not borrow” (Deuteronomy 28:12)
Longevity and prosperity
Among the Ten Commandments there is one that contains the promise of longevity and prosperity on earth. This is a commandment to respect parents.
“Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, so that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you” (Deuteronomy 5:16)
This is God's recipe for a long and happy life.
Help from God
In our lives there are difficult and dead-end situations, resistance that is difficult for us to overcome. We so need God to be with us and help us. And there's a promise about it in the Word.
“I will go before you and level the mountains, I will break in pieces the bronze doors and break the iron bars; And I will give you the treasures kept in darkness and the hidden riches, so that you may know that I am the Lord, who calls you by name...” (Isaiah 45:2-3)
These words are addressed to God's anointed ones. Scripture calls believers anointed, so they include us.
Fulfillment of the heart's desires
God knows everything, including our dreams. When they do not contradict His commandments, He fulfills them.
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 36:4)
Be comforted, that is, find peace and pleasure in the Lord, and then your desires will not lead you away from Him.
Bottom line
God's promises are a declaration of His intentions to bless us. If we follow Him, He will abundantly enrich us with His gifts—eternal life and blessings on earth. The words of Holy Scripture apply to all the righteous:
“The righteous blooms like a palm tree, and stands tall like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord, they bloom in the courts of our God” (Psalm 91:13-14)
“To all he said, If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and FOLLOW ME...” (Luke 9:23) “...When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced, and urged everyone to HOLD ON THE LORD with a sincere heart. …” (Acts 11:23) “…Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you; Cleanse your hands, you sinners, straighten your hearts, you double-minded…” (James 4:8) The heart of every born-again believer has an insatiable hunger for greater and greater intimacy with God. But there is only one way to fulfill this desire placed in our hearts by the Lord: read His Word, meditate on it and constantly proclaim it! There is a constant need in each of our lives to hear and speak God's Word, to be renewed in faith, and to discover His wonderful promises again and again. How to read this book? Each month we look at a specific topic: THE WORD, FAITH, PROSPERITY, THE NAME OF JESUS, BLESSINGS, LOVE, FREEDOM FROM FEAR, HEALING, THE HOLY SPIRIT, PRAISE, SALVATION! What to do if the topic “Prosperity” is being discussed in March, and right now you need to get rid of fear? Jump into scriptures and confessions about freedom from fear and don't worry about falling behind or losing your rhythm! Place this book so that it is always with you, and re-read certain passages several times. You'll see what happens. Read each daily confession several times a day until the Word of God cleaves to your bowels or penetrates your heart! Start with a Bible verse. Read it out loud so that you can hear it yourself: “Faith therefore comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). You may want to take your Bible and read a few more verses before and after it to understand this verse more fully. Then you can be deeply imbued with him in spirit! When we are driving in a car or flying on an airplane, one of us reads a scripture related to daily confession. After that we discuss it. It is amazing the light that is shed on us through this simple communication. Try it yourself! Typically, unsaved neighbors can be reached with this simple message if they try to explain how they understand God's Word! There are times when we read ALL the promises daily! What a blessing it is to see families strengthened through these confessions as they read God's Word together. Dissatisfaction, complaints and arguments will give way to praising God and loving Him and each other IN JESUS NAME! This is one of the most powerful changes that have occurred in our lives - so let it happen in yours too!

Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Troparia Trinity
Having risen from sleep, we fall down to Thee, the Good One, and cry out to Thee, the Mightier, the angelic song: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O God, have mercy on us through the Mother of God. Glory: From bed and sleep You have raised me up, O Lord, enlighten my mind and heart, and open my lips to sing to You, Holy Trinity: Holy, Holy, Holy are You, O God, have mercy on us through the Mother of God. And now: Suddenly the Judge will come, and every deed will be laid bare, but we call with fear (4) at midnight: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O God, have mercy on us by the Mother of God. Lord have mercy. (12 times)
Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity
Having risen from sleep, I thank Thee, Holy Trinity, for for the sake of Thy goodness and long-suffering, Thou hast not been angry with me, lazy and sinful, nor hast Thou destroyed me with my iniquities; but you usually loved mankind and in the despair of the one who lay down, you raised me up to practice and glorify Your power. And now enlighten my mental eyes, open my lips to learn Thy words, and to understand Thy commandments, and to do Thy will, and to sing to Thee in heartfelt confession, and to sing Thy all-holy name, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages. centuries. Amen. Come, let us worship our King God. (Bow) Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ, our King God. (Bow) Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God. (Bow)
Psalm 50
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; for I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me. I have sinned against You alone and have done evil before You, so that You may be justified in Your words and triumph over the judgment of You. Behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have revealed to me the unknown and secret wisdom of Yours. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. My hearing brings joy and joy; humble bones will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me. Reward me with the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; My tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a broken and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; Then they will place the bullock on Your altar.
Symbol of faith
I believe in one God the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only begotten, who was born of the Father before all ages; Light from Light, true God from true God, born, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, to Whom all things were. For our sake, man and our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became human. She was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried. And he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. And again the coming one will be judged with glory by the living and the dead, His Kingdom will have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-Giving One, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who spoke the prophets. Into one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. I hope for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the next century. Amen.
First prayer of Saint Macarius the Great
God, cleanse me, a sinner, for I have done nothing good before You; but deliver me from the evil one, and may Thy will be done in me, may I open my unworthy lips without condemnation and praise Thy holy name, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages Amen.
Second prayer, of the same saint
Rising from sleep, I bring the midnight hymn to Ti, Savior, and falling down crying to Ti: do not let me fall asleep in a sinful death, but be gracious to me, crucified by will, and hasten me lying in laziness, and save me in standing and in prayer, and in sleep Rise up nightly for me a sinless day, O Christ God, and save me.
Prayer three, of the same saint
To You, Lord, Lover of Mankind, having risen from sleep, I come running, and I strive for Your works with Your mercy, and I pray to You: help me at all times, in every thing, and deliver me from all worldly evil things and the devil’s haste, and save me, and bring us into Your eternal Kingdom. For You are my Creator and the Provider and Giver of every good thing, and all my hope is in You, and I send up glory to You, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Prayer four, of the same saint
Lord, Who through Your many goodness and Your great bounty has given me, Your servant, the passing time of this night without misfortune to pass away from all evil that is contrary to me; You Yourself, Master, the Creator of all things, grant me with Your true light and an enlightened heart to do Your will, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Fifth prayer, Saint Basil the Great
Lord Almighty, God of hosts and all flesh, living in the highest and looking down on the humble, testing the hearts and wombs and innermost parts of men, the fore-foreseen One, the Beginningless and Ever-Everlasting Light, with Him there is no change or overshadowing; Himself, Immortal King, accept our prayers, even now, boldly for the multitude of Your bounties, from the bad lips we create towards You, and forgive us our sins, whether in deed, word, and thought, knowledge, or ignorance, we have sinned; and cleanse us from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. And grant us with a cheerful heart and a sober thought to pass through the whole night of this present life, awaiting the coming of the bright and revealed day of Your Only Begotten Son, the Lord and God and our Savior Jesus Christ, in which the Judge of all will come with glory, to whom he will give to each according to his deeds; May we not fall and become lazy, but be watchful and raised up for the work that is to come, and prepare for the joy and Divine palace of His glory, where those who celebrate the unceasing voice and the ineffable sweetness of those who behold Your face, the ineffable kindness. For You are the true Light, you enlighten and sanctify all things, and all creation sings to You forever and ever. Amen.
