It is not appropriate for a Muslim to skip the obligatory prayer, because for leaving it and neglecting it, severe punishment is promised by Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The difference between us (believers) and them (non-believers) is the performance of prayer. Anyone who stops reading it will fall into disbelief" (1) (hadith reported by Imam Ahmad, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasai and al-Hakim in Mustadrak).

You should also perform prayers so as not to fall into the number of those about whom Allah said the following: “Do you really believe in part of the Book and disbelieve in another part? The fate of those who act in this way will be humiliation even in worldly life...” (Surah al-Baqarah, verse 85).

Theologians do not discuss the question of whether Allah accepts the fast of a fasting person or not, for this is the prerogative of the Almighty. We hope that Allah will accept the fasts of all who observe them. However, the fast of a praying Muslim has a greater chance of being accepted by Allah than of one who does not pray.
As for the validity of fasting, despite the fact that a Muslim who does not pray] exposes himself to great danger, despite the fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) expressed himself in relation to such a person with the words “fall into disbelief” and despite the negligent attitude towards religion, because prayer is the support of religion, fasting is considered valid! And the performance of prayer is not conditioned on the validity of fasting. Leaving the obligatory prayer is one of the great sins and a Muslim should not dare to do this. And let the one who has abandoned her until now hasten to bring repentance to the Almighty.
Allah is above all and knows best.

(1) Here we are talking about the person who left the prayer without attaching importance to it or not considering its fulfillment as obligatory. If a person does not pray because of laziness, but being convinced that its fulfillment is obligatory, he does not become an infidel, but falls into great sin.
