The meaning of the akathist to Daniil of Moscow
The fourth son of Alexander Nevsky is known for the fact that he never acted as a conqueror of foreign lands. He was reserved in character and had a kind heart. There is a known case when one of his relatives wanted to deprive the prince of his possessions and called on the Tatars for help. Prince Daniil of Moscow came out to meet the Tatars to protect what belonged to him. He did not need foreign land. He abandoned the conquest mission. When the victory was won, the prince showed unprecedented brotherly love and did not remember the evil done to him. For this, the people respected him, he was rightfully known as a wise ruler.
The akathist is read to the blessed Daniil of Moscow if there is a threat of enemy attack or there are any internecine strife, when resolving controversial issues and conflict situations. The akathist is also read if the body is overcome by a serious illness, when there have been no children in the family for a long time. Most often they turn to the reading of the akathist in order to solve housing issues - they ask for the grace to acquire their own living space.
March 7 and September 12 are called saint's days of remembrance. These days, it is recommended to visit the temple with the relics or simply read the akathist in front of the icon of Daniel of Moscow. Every prayer should begin with thanksgiving to the Almighty, and only after praise proceed to requests. Prayers of gratitude give glory to God and help to tune the heart into a spiritual mood, renounce worldly worries and turn in faith to higher powers for help.
