Bible Questions and Answers
Published 09/06/2011
If you really want to understand when the world will end according to the Bible, then this article is for you. In this article, the author examines the prophecies contained in the New and Old Testaments, then coming to conclusions. Many people want to get the exact date of the end of the world, but let's not rush, but rather take a deeper look at this issue.
When we read passages in the Bible (Gospel of Matthew chapter 24), we can immediately assume that Jesus is talking about His Second Coming and prophecies about the coming of the end of the world. This assumption may be based on the questions that the apostles asked Him, as written in Matthew 24:3 “And while He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately and asked: Tell us, when will this be? and what is the sign of Your coming and the end of the age?” Also, the very wording of answers, such as these, pushes us to this conclusion:
“And suddenly, after the tribulation of those days, the sun will darken, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven; and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory; and He will send His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other” (Matthew 24:29-31).
Wow! Jesus must be describing the end of the world, right? Let's not rush to conclusion.
Date of the end of the world.
Certain date.
If you look at history, especially the 19th to 21st centuries, many people or organizations (Christian and non-Christian) have set dates for when the world will end.
Among the most famous:
- William Miller (the Millerist movement) set the date as 1843, which was subsequently moved to another year several times. Some of the disillusioned separated and the Seventh-day Adventist movement was founded.
- Charles Russell - (founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses organization) predicted that the Second Coming of Christ would be October 1, 1914. Subsequently, the date was set several more times.
Looking at these dates, we may have different opinions regarding those people and events, but in reality, people who believed sold their property, houses, did not sow their fields, quit their jobs, and when the date came and the end of the world did not come, greater disappointment came , depression and some lost their minds.
What does the Bible say about dates?
No one knows about that day or hour, neither the heavenly angels, nor the Son, but only the Father. (Holy Gospel of Mark 13:32)
CONCLUSION: The Bible says that none of the people, angels, or even Jesus Christ himself knows the date, and only God the Father knows the date.
Therefore any date is:
- Deliberate deception. For example, if you have 10,000 followers and you tell them that Christ will come this year, you no longer need housing - sell and donate to our organization and then you will definitely go to heaven.
- Human delusion. Well, a person wants to express himself in some way from others, so he predicts.
I am sure that many more times dates will be set, many more times on television you will hear that some tribe or fortune teller has announced that they will make another film about Armageddon.
Why is this being done? The answer is very simple - So that people stop believing that the end will come someday. After all, after another unfulfilled date, you will say: “Let there be no end of the world.”
Signs of the end of the world.
We cannot know a specific date, year or even decade, but the Bible tells us about the signs of the end times. Matthew 24:4-14, 2 Timothy 3:1-7 and other passages.
There are many signs, I want to give my opinion two main ones:
- The gospel will be preached throughout the whole earth (Matthew 24:14) . Today, missionaries have brought the Gospel to the most remote places; with the help of television, radio, and the Internet, anyone can listen to the Word of God. As of today, this has almost been accomplished.
- Mark (Revelation 13:16-17) (I will talk more about this later). Even 20 years ago this could have been looked at as science fiction, but today it is already a reality and it will not be many years before this can be realized, given the rapid growth of technology.
The Bible does not say when the events of the apocalypse will occur; they may already have occurred.
Although in the popular consciousness the apocalypse is a book about mystical events, trumpets and angels, biblical scholars and historians have many different ideas about the meaning of the text. There are these versions:
Revelation veiledly tells about the past . There is an opinion that in the years of John the Theologian it was simply dangerous to write in plain text about events important to the Christian world. But the apostle could not help but retell them. Therefore, he chose a complex symbolic language. Surely, the text was understandable to the apostle’s contemporaries, who formed the circle of his like-minded people.
Revelation tells about the events contemporary to the apostle . In the first chapters of the apocalypse, a strong emphasis is placed on the problems of churches contemporary to the author. So why would a text become prophetic? For example, archaeologists Matthew Adams believes that all the images in this manuscript go back to the then situation of the Jews and tell about the impending uprising against Roman rule. Actually, the Armageddon area is quite a significant confirmation of the archaeologist’s version.
The Book of Revelation may well be about events that have already passed.
Revelation tells of a future for the author that has already passed . A number of researchers point out that the first centuries of our era fit very well into the descriptions from the apocalypse. That is, the book could have been prophetic for the contemporaries of John the Theologian, but today these events have already come true.
Revelation foretells a future that is yet to happen . Orthodoxy mainly supports this version. Still, the descriptions of the Last Judgment, the Second Coming and other events suggest something grandiose that can be interpreted unambiguously. Although not everything is smooth with interpretations either:
- Some interpreters believe that the book tells about literal events . In this case, everything is simple: the beast will really come out of the abyss, angels will rush across the sky, etc.
- Other interpreters are confident that the book is encrypted . This opens up incredible scope for speculation. Any image from the Book of Revelation can be interpreted this way or that way, which, in fact, is what many are doing today.
Chronology of the events of the end of the world.
Theologians identify three, some five main versions, the difference in them lies in the sequence of actions and the explanation of those events, but everyone agrees that these events will happen.
I will present events according to version (pretributionism). This version was the very first and main one in Christianity, later some Christians changed their minds and other options arose.
Let's look at the picture and try to figure it out.
- Now we live in the period from the Resurrection of Jesus Christ to the rapture of the Church into heaven (I repeat, no one knows the dates when this will happen).
- At one moment the Church is raptured into heaven.
- The “Judgment Seat of Christ” and the “Wedding Feast” take place in heaven.
- At the same time, the “7 years of Great Tribulation” are taking place on earth.
- After 7 years of the Great Tribulation, the second coming of Jesus Christ to earth comes with the Church and the Battle of Armageddon takes place.
- After the battle comes the resurrection of those killed for Christ during the 7 years of tribulation and the thousand-year reign on earth begins.
- After the thousand-year reign, Jesus' final battle with Satan and Satan is forever thrown into fiery hell.
- White Throne Judgment: Unbelievers are forever in the lake of fire.
- And now the end of the world!
Differences between other versions.
Midtributionism - the difference is that the Church is admired not before the beginning of the great tribulation, but in the middle of the great tribulation, 3.5 years after the beginning.
Posttributionism – The Church goes through all 7 years of the Great Tribulation and raptures after the Tribulation at the second coming of Jesus Christ.
If you look in general and don’t delve too deeply into it, the main differences in the versions are:
- The church will or will not go through the Great Tribulation.
- The 1000 year kingdom is literally 1000 years or not.
LET'S LOOK AT EACH OF THE POINTS IN DETAIL.
From the Resurrection to the Rapture.
16. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17. For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. (Holy Gospel of John 3:16,17)
Jesus came to earth approximately 2000 years ago, was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, was crucified on the cross for the sins of all people, was resurrected and ascended to heaven. Now, thanks to His sacrifice, everyone who believes in Jesus will come to Him in repentance and accept Jesus as their personal Savior - salvation is freely given, and the opportunity to spend eternity with God in heaven.
This period of time is called: the time of grace, the time of the Church, the era of the Holy Spirit, the last time. This is the time from the moment of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our days, and we still don’t know how many days, years until the Rapture of the Church to heaven.
All this time, forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ and the opportunity to be among the Church that will be in heaven are available to any person on earth.
Also passages from the Bible: John. 6:40-47, John 11:25-26, John 20:31, Acts 4:11-12, Acts 16:30-31, Gal. 2:16, Eph. 2:8-9.
The Rapture of the Church.
51. I tell you a secret: we will not all die, but we will all be changed 52. suddenly, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will rise incorruptible, and we will be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:51,52)
In an instant, all the “real” believers in Jesus alive at that moment will be taken by God from earth to heaven, and the dead believers will be resurrected and go to heaven together. No one knows the time and date; there will be no special signs that would precede this. Jesus himself will not come to earth at this time. There will remain on earth those who did not accept and believe in Jesus Christ, as well as those who went to church, said that they believed, but in fact never sincerely believed in God and did not live according to the Bible. In support of the opinion that the Church will be taken away before the Great Tribulation, passages from the Bible:
34. Take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with overeating and drunkenness and the cares of this life, and lest that day come upon you suddenly, 35. For it will come like a snare upon all those who live on all the face of the earth; 36. Therefore, watch at all times and pray, that you may be counted worthy to escape all these future disasters and to stand before the Son of Man. (Holy Gospel of Luke 21:34-36)
And just as you have kept the word of My patience, I will also keep you from the time of temptation that will come to the whole world to test those who live on the earth. (Revelation of John the Evangelist 3:10)
Christian saints often described in detail the events of the apocalypse
Some saints wrote a lot about the end of the world. For example, Ephraim the Syrian described it in detail:
“Gold and silver are scattered in the streets, and no one touches them, because everything is frozen. But everyone is in a hurry to run and hide, and there is nowhere for them to hide from grief; on the contrary, in times of hunger, sorrow and fear, carnivorous animals and reptiles will bite. Fear within, trepidation without; Day and night there are corpses on the streets. The stench in the haystacks, the stench in the houses; hunger and thirst in the fields, hunger and thirst in the houses; the voice of weeping in the haystacks, the voice of weeping in the houses; noise on haystacks, noise in houses. Everyone meets each other with sobs: father and son, and son with father, and mother with daughter. Friends on the streets, hugging friends, end their lives; brothers, hugging brothers, die. The beauty of the face of all flesh fades, and the appearance of people is like that of the dead. Women's beauty became disgusted and hateful. All flesh and human desire will fade away."
And John Chrysostom reflected on the topic of how the Antichrist would manifest himself:
“Who will he [Anitichrist] be? Is it really Satan? No, but there is a certain person who will receive all his power (ένέργεταν). “And it will be revealed,” he says, “the man of sin, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above everything that is called God or that is holy.” He will not lead to idolatry, but will be an opponent of God (άντίθεоς), reject all gods and order to worship himself, instead of God, and will sit in the temple of God - not only in Jerusalem, but everywhere in the churches. “Giving oneself away,” he says, “as God.” He did not say that he would call himself God, but that he would try to show himself as God. He will do great things and show wonderful signs.”
The horrors of the apocalypse culminate in the Last Judgment.
(painting “The Last Judgment” over the hall of St. Isaac’s Cathedral, artist F. Bruni). Photo: cdnimg.rg.ru But no matter what horrors the saints and Holy Scripture promise us, the end of all these events, according to the will of God, will be happy. This is what Saint John of Damascus writes:
“We will be resurrected, since souls will again be united with bodies that will become immortal and put off corruption, and we will appear before the terrible judgment seat of Christ. The devil and his demons, and his man, i.e. Antichrist, the wicked and sinners will be consigned to eternal fire, not material, such as we have, but such as God alone knows. And those who have done good will be enlightened, like the sun, together with the angels in eternal life, with our Lord Jesus Christ, eternally contemplating Him and being themselves contemplated by Him, and enjoying the joy that flows from Him, glorifying Him with the Father and the Holy Spirit to the endless ages of ages.”

The Judgment Seat of Christ and the Wedding Feast.
Does a believer come to judgment or not?
After the rapture, the Church comes to
the Judgment Seat of Christ . There are many disputes here: some say that the Church does not come to judgment, others that it does. Naturally, all opinions are taken from the Bible, but the problem is in a superficial understanding; if you delve into this issue, then everything becomes clear, because the whole point is that there will be two judgments:
- The trial of the Church is the Judgment Seat of Christ.
- Judgment of the world (non-believers) – Judgment at the white throne.
Now we will deal with the Judgment Seat of Christ, and in point No. 8 we will talk about the white throne court.
Let's look at two passages from the Bible:
He who believes in Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the Only Begotten Son of God. (Holy Gospel of John 3:18)
for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what he has done while living in the body, whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:10).
The first says that a believer does not come to judgment, and the second says that believers need to appear before the judgment seat. This discrepancy is explained quite simply, the whole point is that we read the Bible in translation and when we look at the original Bible, we will see that in places where judgment is spoken of, three different words are used, which were translated into Russian as court or judgment seat (now it is It’s easy to check, search Google for “biblical interlinear translation”, go to any of the sites and check).
Phronos is the throne of the king who pronounces judgment (Revelation 20:11). Krino is a place of judgment, a judge's tribune, a jury bench (1 Cor. 6:2,4,6). Vima - (Rom. 14:10, this passage is interesting because it uses “krino” and “vima” in the same verse). This word was used to name the platform in Greek amphitheaters, on which the head of the arena sat and from this place he awarded the winners. And to this day, athletes are awarded medals on the pedestal for the winners, and this place is never used for disputes and to judge who won and who lost; they go onto the pedestal not for trial, but for awards.
When the Bible speaks of the judgment of the Church, the word "vima" and never "phronos" or "krino". And when the Bible says that believers do not come to judgment, the word “phronos” is there and it means that a believer does not come to judgment at the white throne.
Judgment Seat of Christ.
At this trial, the issue of salvation, eternity in heaven or hell is not decided; here they will not ask about your sins and judge you for them.
If you find yourself in this court, then your eternity has already been decided - FOREVER WITH GOD IN HEAVEN. So what is this court for?
for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what he has done while living in the body, whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:10).
Let's look at what this Bible verse says:
- The word “will appear” in the ancient Greek “plywood” is translated as: to be revealed, to be revealed, to be revealed, to appear, to be revealed. This means that at this trial the true motives of each believer will be publicly revealed when he performed good deeds and served God on earth.
- Our deeds will be examined, whether they were good or bad (evil). And here the question arises: “how did I get to heaven if my deeds are evil?” And again, it’s all a matter of translation, in the original there are three words that were translated into Russian as evil, bad deeds: “Kakos” and “Poneros” - moral evil (deception, theft, drunkenness, enmity, etc.).
- “Faulon” - unimportance, vanity, obscenity, emptiness, uselessness.
Based on this, we draw a brief conclusion: At this judgment, God will reveal the true motives of our deeds and service to God. And based on our deeds, everyone will receive a reward from God, and those who had no deeds or had bad deeds will not receive a reward. And all eternity that we will spend with God in heaven, some will have rewards, while others will not.
Also passages from the Bible: 1 Cor. 3:10-15, Matthew 12:36, 1 Cor. 9:25, 1 Thessalonians 2:19,20, James 1:12, 2 Timothy 4:7,8, 1 Peter 5:4, Matthew 5:18,19.
Wedding feast.
The Bible describes the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Church as that of a bride and groom (John 3:29, 2 Cor. 11:2, Eph. 5:25-33, Rev. 19:7-8).
At the rapture of the Church, Jesus Christ will appear to her as a groom who takes his bride to him. And there will be a wedding feast in heaven.
7. Let us rejoice and be glad and give glory to Him; For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. 8. And it was given to her to be clothed in fine linen, clean and bright; The fine linen is the righteousness of the saints. 9. And the Angel said to me: Write: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said to me: these are the true words of God. (Revelation of John the Evangelist 19:7-9)
Theologians agree that the wedding feast will take place between the rapture of the Church and the second coming of Jesus Christ to earth.
The fourth seal - the coming of the fourth horseman of the apocalypse
The fourth seal opens the way for the last of the horsemen of the apocalypse:
“And when He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature, saying, Come and see. And I looked, and behold, a pale horse, and its rider, whose name was “death”; and hell followed him; and power was given to him over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, and with the wild beasts of the earth.”
(Rev: 6:7–8)
In the original, the color of his horse is pale green, but the translators felt that for the Russian reader, pale would be more associated with death, since this color corresponds to the impression that a pale green horse made on ancient readers.
Hell is a mistranslation. In the original - hades, that is, the kingdom of the dead in principle, and not a place where sinners languish.
By the way, this is the only rider whose name (meaning) is given.
On the Polyptych of St. John (1470s) Hans Memling depicted, instead of hell, which follows the 4th horseman of the apocalypse, a certain demon - the personification of hell. This is an illustration of the breaking of the fourth seal. Photo: fermer.ru
Seven years of the Great Tribulation.
While the Church is raptured into heaven and at the wedding feast on earth there will be a period of great tribulation, it will last 7 years.
...for then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, nor will there be. (Holy Gospel of Matthew 24:21)
Time of Great Tribulation.
In order to understand how long and when the great tribulation will occur, we need to return to the prophecy from the book of Daniel:
24. Seventy weeks are appointed for your people and your holy city, so that the transgression may be covered, the sins may be sealed and the iniquities may be blotted out, and eternal righteousness may be brought in, and the vision and the prophet may be sealed, and the Holy of Holies may be anointed. 25. Therefore, know and understand: from the time the commandment goes out to restore Jerusalem, until Christ the Lord, there are seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; and the people will return, and streets and walls will be built, but in difficult times. 26. And at the end of sixty-two weeks Christ will be put to death, and will not be; and the city and the sanctuary will be destroyed by the people of the leader who comes, and its end will be like a flood, and there will be devastation until the end of the war. 27. And the covenant shall be established for many for one week, and in the half of the week sacrifice and offering shall cease, and the abomination that makes desolate shall be upon the pinnacle of the sanctuary, and the final predetermined destruction shall befall the desolator.” (Daniel 9:24-27)
I won’t explain everything specifically; let’s briefly go over the main points that relate to our topic:
- This prophecy refers to Daniel's "people" and Daniel's "city", which are Israel and Jerusalem.
- It speaks of two "lords", the first Jesus Christ and the second, who will "establish the covenant"
- The entire period is 70 weeks, and they are divided into three smaller periods: 7, 62 and 1 week.
- It is said that after 69 Jesus will be killed.
- It is said that in the middle of the week, the ruler will break the treaty with Israel.
Now I will briefly explain what this means (if you are interested in more details, you can search on the Internet, only Adventists can interpret it “specifically”):
- Each week means specifically 7 years.
- 69 to the death of Jesus Christ, we begin to count from the “command to restore Jerusalem” - The order to restore Jerusalem came from King Artharxerxes approximately 450 years before the birth of Jesus Christ (Nehemiah 2:1-9). — Jesus lived on earth for 33 years. — We count 450+33/69=7.
- 69 has already passed, only 1 remains. The prophecy does not say that everything should go continuously, but it says that between 69 and 1 there will be war and destruction.
- The last 70 weeks will begin when “the second leader confirms the covenant with Israel.”
- It is said that in half (that means after 3.5 years) he will break the contract, which means the last seventieth week is divided into two 3.5 years.
Many assume that this last week is the 7 years of the Great Tribulation, and it has not yet come, but must come. Also, from the moment of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, it is believed that the period of the relationship of “God with Israel” and the period of the relationship of “God with the Church” , and this period will last until the ascension of the Church to heaven and then God will again turn to Israel to fulfill the promises given to the Patriarchs in the Old Testament Bible.
Predecessor, Beginning of Tribulation.
The main sign of the beginning of the Great Tribulation is the rapture of the Church to heaven.
Here it is worth dividing into “the whole world” and Israel, because many events will be associated with Jews.
A MEGA politician will come who will be able to reconcile Israel with other nations, will be successful in many areas and will be accepted with admiration by all people as someone who can solve many global issues.
- The Jewish people, having not accepted Jesus Christ, are still waiting to this day for the Messiah, who should come to them, deliver them from their enemies, become their king, with whom they would build a strong state. And they will wait for him! A strong leader, a strong politician and with many other qualities will come who will be able to achieve a lot politically for Israel. He will be able to help build a temple in Jerusalem (today this is impossible, due to the lack of an ark, and information about the exact location of the temple, besides, a Muslim mosque now stands on the proposed site of the temple), after the construction of the temple, the service will resume. The Jews will be delighted with him and accept him as their messiah, but after 3.5 years he will sit in the temple, proclaim himself “God” and order him to be worshiped. Then the Jews will “open their eyes”; they will understand that they were mistaken in mistaking him for the messiah, and they will refuse to worship him. From this moment on, a strong persecution of Jews will begin, with the desire to completely destroy them.
- As for other inhabitants of the earth. This leader will be able to reconcile everyone, lead the global economy and “establish life on earth.” Maintains a unified payment system and, to “improve” the payment system, conducts “drafting” of people. They will force everyone to worship the Antichrist, although most people themselves will admire him, worship him and joyfully accept the “mark.” All those who are objectionable and who have not accepted the “mark” will be destroyed.
16. And he will cause everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17. and that no one will be able to buy or sell, except whoever has this mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Revelation of John the Evangelist 13:16,17)
Source of sorrow.
- Most of the moments of this period will be related to Israel and the first source of tribulation, which will mostly concern Israel, is Satan, his prophet and the beast, who will persecute the Jews in rage. As for other people (the whole world, except the Jews), there will be oppression of everyone who refuses to accept the “mark” (every person will have a chip implanted) and worship the Antichrist.
Bible Scriptures: (Rev. 12:13-17; Rev. 13:7)
- But the “great tribulation” is the punishment of God on people, so the main source of tribulation will be the outpouring of God’s wrath on the earth.
15. And the kings of the earth, and the nobles, and the rich, and the captains of thousands, and the mighty, and every slave and every free man, hid themselves in caves and in the clefts of the mountains, 16. And they said to the mountains and stones: Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits. on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb; 17. For the great day of His wrath has come, and who can stand? (Revelation of John the Evangelist 6:15-17)
Also Bible passages: Revelation 11:18; 14:7,10,19; 15:7, 16:1,7,19; 19:1-2.
From all these scriptures we can conclude that this will be a period of outpouring of God's wrath and judgment on the earth. These will be punishments that God has sent, even if sometimes they will be carried out through man or Satan.
The purpose of the great tribulation.
- Prepare the people of Israel to receive the messiah Jesus Christ.
27. And the Lord will scatter you among all nations, and you will remain few in number among the nations to which the Lord will lead you; 28. And you will serve there gods, made by human hands of wood and stone, who do not see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. 29. But when you seek the Lord your God there, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. 30. When you are in sorrow, and when all this befalls you at the end of time, you will turn to the Lord your God and listen to His voice. 31. The Lord thy God is a merciful God; He will not leave you and destroy you, and He will not forget the covenant with your fathers, which He confirmed to them with an oath. (Book of Deuteronomy 4:27-31)
Also Bible passages: Jeremiah 30:7; Ezekiel 20:37; Daniel 12:1; Zechariah 13:8-9; Gospel of Matthew 24:9-26.
The goal is to bring as many Jews as possible to Jesus Christ, who will enter the messianic 1000-year kingdom.
- Pour out judgment on unbelieving people and nations. Since the creation of the earth, there has been a lot of evil, injustice, murder, violence in the world, and many more lawlessnesses that have been and are happening on earth can be listed. During this period, God will pour out his judgment on the earth for all the evil that people have committed.
9. And when He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been killed for the word of God and for the testimony that they had. 10. And they cried out with a loud voice, saying: How long, O Lord, Holy and True, do you not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth? (Revelation of John the Evangelist 6:9,10)
This place says that people who were killed for Christ (Christianity) and now being in heaven ask God to give fair judgment. And this is only one of the many evils that have been committed on earth.
Great Tribulation Judgments.
The Book of Revelation of John the Theologian speaks of such judgments as: seals, trumpets, bowls. These are all different courts and each of them includes many different types of courts.
All judgments are described in Revelation 6,8-11,15-16,18-19 chapters.
I won’t take on the interpretation of all these punishments, and theologians do not always agree. One thing I can say with confidence is that this will be the worst time in the history of the earth, with many disasters, diseases, and deaths. The time about which it is said that all the inhabitants of the earth will dream of death.
Armageddon / Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
13. And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs: 14. These are demonic spirits that perform signs; they go out to the kings of the earth throughout the universe to gather them for battle on that great day of God Almighty. 15. Behold, I come as a thief: blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his robe, lest he walk naked, and lest they see his shame. 16. And he gathered them to a place called in Hebrew Armageddon. (Revelation of John the Evangelist 16:13-16)
My opinion: (I assume that this will most likely happen, but this is not a fact) when people experience all the judgments of God (and there will be many of them, one after another), people, as always, will want to find someone to blame for “their troubles . And at this time, their super leader will be furious in destroying the Jewish people and he will point them to a “scapegoat” , saying that all your troubles are through the Jews (as has happened many times in world history). And then all the armies of the world will begin to gather to go to war against Israel, and at the moment when this army is about to destroy Israel, Jesus will come with his heavenly army.
“The kings of the earth from all over the world” will unite through the activities of the infernal trinity (the devil, the Antichrist, the false prophet) in a battle called “the war of that great day of the Almighty God” :
This battle will take place in the valley called Armageddon (Rev. 16:16). Mount Megiddo, located west of the Jordan River in north-central Palestine a few tens of kilometers south of Nazareth and about 30 kilometers inland from the Mediterranean coast, was in the wide plain of Ezdraelon, on which many Israeli battles took place.
Here God will bring judgment on the nations for their persecution of Israel (Joel 3:2) , for their sinfulness (Rev. 19:15) and for their ungodliness (Rev. 16:9) .
In general terms, it is generally accepted that the battle of Armageddon is a separate event that will take place right before the second coming of Christ to earth. But the magnitude of this event can only be seen when it is realized that this will not just be a single battle, but most likely a military campaign that will culminate in the gathering for the final battle at Armageddon at the second coming.
Armageddon participants. Four major world powers will take part in this battle:
- A union of ten kingdoms under the rule of the Beast; this union will be the final form of the last world empire;
- Northern Alliance (possibly Russia and its allies);
- Kings from the east, Asian peoples from beyond the Euphrates;
- King from the South, (possibly a North African power;)
- The Lord and the heavenly army.
Results of the Armageddon War.
- The armies of the beast will be defeated by the Lord at the second coming; (Rev. 19:21)
- The Beast and the False Prophet will be thrown into the lake of fire (Rev. 19:20) ;
- Satan bound (Rev.20:2)
Millennium Kingdom.
4. And I saw thrones and those sitting on them, to whom judgment had been given, and the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received the mark on their foreheads or on their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. 6. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection: the second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. (Revelation of John the Evangelist 20:4-6)
You can write a lot about the thousand-year kingdom, there are many verses in the Bible that talk about the 1000-year kingdom, I will try to briefly talk about the main points.
- We don’t know for sure whether it will be literally 1000 years or perhaps figuratively; many theologians conclude that it will be literally 1000 years.
- In the 1000-year kingdom, Jesus Christ will reign with the Church.
- Since Jesus Christ himself will be the ruler on earth, there will be no wars or cataclysms on earth, people will live in peace, justice and economic prosperity, there will be a fair trial and there will be no corruption, there will be no curse.
- In the 1000-year kingdom, all the promises that God made for the people of Israel, the patriarchs of Israel, will be fulfilled. This refers to all the promises given by God to people and prophecies that are written in the Bible and have not yet been fulfilled.
- Nature will be changed.
- During the period of the 1000-year kingdom there will be no devil, it will be a world full of the presence of God, but this is not heaven, this is still earth, so not all people will be perfect and without sin.
The Second Seal - the arrival of the second horseman of the apocalypse
If there are questions with the first rider, there are usually no doubts about the second. It is identified with war:
“And when he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, Come and see. And another horse came out, a red one; and to him that sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another; and a great sword was given to him"
(Rev. 6:3–4)
These are the horrors of the last times that the Word of God promises - but this is just the beginning!
Last fight.
7. When the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, and gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 8. And they went out into the breadth of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. 9. And fire fell from heaven from God and consumed them... (Revelation of John the Theologian 20:7-9)
At the end of 1000 years, the devil will be released from the prison in which he was placed after the Battle of Armageddon and will begin to deceive people again. And no matter how surprising it may be, people who lived in a perfect kingdom, where God himself rules, where there is prosperity, peace, no diseases, well, in a word, everything is perfect, many will still be dissatisfied. And the devil will gather them for the last battle, it is written that their number is like the sand of the sea, I think we can easily assume that there will be millions or even hundreds of millions of them. I can’t understand how a person who lives in an ideal world is still dissatisfied!?
I think the outcome of the battle is clear to all of us: God won, the devil has already been thrown into the lake of fire forever, and people who did not believe and did not accept Jesus are going to trial.
White Throne Judgment.
11. And I saw a great white throne and Him sitting on it, from whose presence heaven and earth fled, and no place was found for them. 12. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged according to what was written in the books, according to their deeds. 13. Then the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and hell gave up the dead that were in them; and each one was judged according to his deeds. 14. Both death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15. And whoever was not written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation of John the Evangelist 20:11-15).
As we remember, there has already been a trial of the Church. The white throne judgment is the judgment of unbelieving people (people who did not believe and accept Jesus Christ. John 3:18 ).
- All people who have lived from the beginning of mankind until the trial itself come to this court.
- At this trial there will be no acquittals, here the verdict will be pronounced: GUILTY (Fronos is the throne of the king, which pronounces the verdict).
- Unfortunately, from this judgment people are sent to the lake of fire forever, where they will suffer forever.
About the Author of the Book of Revelation
The book of the Apocalypse was written by Christ's beloved disciple John. The youngest of the Apostles, he saw the Transfiguration of Christ on Tabor. Jesus once said that there are those among the disciples who will not taste death until they see the Kingdom of Heaven come in power. I took three of them and they climbed the mountain. The disciples saw Christ in an unearthly radiance that their eyes could not even bear. And they fell prostrate to the ground in fear.
John, the only one of the disciples, was present at the crucifixion of Jesus. Along with his mother. The rest fled in fear. The Apostle Peter, trying to quietly follow the captive Teacher, by this time managed to deny Him three times.
The dying Jesus entrusted John with the care of his mother. The Blessed Virgin Mary lived with him as with her son.
What did the disciple think as he stood at the cross of his Teacher? I heard the jeers of the crowd shouting for the “King of the Jews” to save himself. I saw the bullying of the guards. I heard His last words. Shedding tears, he witnessed his torment and death.
It was his love for Jesus that kept him there at Calvary. And faith helped me endure this whole difficult, terrible day and the subsequent days of dreary ignorance and despair.
Great was the joy of John to see the risen Christ. Before his eyes, Jesus ascended into heaven, leaving his disciples in complete confusion. Then there were tongues of flame descending from heaven and fervent preaching to the pagans. Crowds of believers and converts. New Christian churches in Ancient Assia, where the saint carried his faith and the Word of Christ.
The apostle lived a long life. Experienced severe persecution. They even tried to execute him. He spent his old age in exile for the Word of Christ on the Greek island of Patmos. Where he was granted a new vision of not only Christ, but also the entire coming Kingdom of Heaven.
He was ordered to preach about languages, nations, kings and many nations. About the entire future of humanity. John was honored to see what no one in the world had seen before him.
You need to understand that the book of the Apocalypse is the Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, which God gave him to show how everything will be. Because it is the Lord who is the Creator of the entire universe, as well as of man and all living creatures. And only He knows and determines the meaning of everything that happens. And believe me, there is a great meaning. The truly faithful are, in general, promised eternal life. Instead of the current temporary, perishable, painful and mortal.
This Revelation was sent to the Apostle John the Theologian so that he would write it down and testify to the word of God. And he wrote down not only the words of Christ, but also the visions given to him of the events of recent times.
And now it's the end of the world.
And now the end of the world is coming. True, this is not quite the end, but rather a continuation.
- The end of the earth's existence, the earth will be physically destroyed and will no longer exist.
- Physical life on earth ends and eternal unearthly life begins (though it never stopped, because the human soul is eternal and does not die at the moment of physical death).
- Those who believe in Jesus are forever in heaven to live with God, Those who do not believe in Jesus are forever in the lake of fire to be tormented with the devil.

Conclusion!
- All assignments of dates for the end of the world are: deception or delusion of people; no one knows the date.
- The end of the world will not be instantaneous, it is a whole series of events that will happen when they tell you that the end of the world will come soon - it is not true, there is still a long time before the physical destruction of the earth.
- The end of the world can come for each of us at any moment, you died and the “end of the world” has come for you.
- Each person on earth must decide for himself where he wants to “live” after death. Those who believed in Jesus in heaven, those who did not believe in the lake of fire.
I WISH THAT EVERYONE WHO READ THIS ARTICLE WOULD CHOOSE TO SPEND ETERNITY WITH GOD IN HEAVEN.
In the Koran
The Messenger of Allah Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did not know the exact date of the end of the world and the onset of the Day of Judgment, because there is no exact date in the Quran. The Koran says that if Muslims ask him a question about the hour when the End of the World will come, then he should answer that “knowledge about this belongs only to my Lord”: “ They ask you about the Hour: “When will it come?” Say: “Indeed, the knowledge of this belongs only to my Lord. No one but Him is able to reveal the time of its occurrence. This knowledge is heavy for heaven and earth. It will come suddenly." They ask you as if you know about it. Say: “Verily, the knowledge of this belongs to Allah alone, but most people do not know it ” (Surah Al-Araf (Fences), 187th verse).
About how the End of the World will happen, the Almighty said in the Koran: “ On that day a person will remember what he was zealous in, and Gehenna will appear before the eyes of those who see it ” (Sura An-Naziat | The Destroyers, verses 35-36 ).
Surah Al-Infitar (Splitting), verses 1-4
The description of the End of the World is given in the Koran in many details: it is mentioned that “... the sun will be twisted ”, “ mountains will move from their places and stars will fall ”, the seas , “ the sky will be torn off ”, “ Paradise will be approaching and Hell will be kindled ”, and “ the soul knows what it has brought ” (Surah At-Takvir | Twisting).
