Sometimes it happens that hard work, determination and the desire to get a good job or take a well-deserved position do not work out: an unfriendly boss, squabbles in the team can become an obstacle to career growth, a large competition for a vacant position can become an obstacle to realizing one’s dreams.
Help and support can be provided by praying for success in work to the Lord and the Saints. Sincere words of prayer addressed to the Higher Powers will definitely be heard, and help will be provided.
Prayer to the Lord
It is better to read a strong prayer for good luck and success in work addressed to the Lord in the temple in front of the icon of Jesus Christ. In this case, you need to light a candle and first read a prayer of repentance, asking God to forgive the sins of the person praying. Then proceed to reading a prayer for good luck in work. Prayer to the Creator brings good luck, luck in any undertaking, and contributes to the successful resolution of any undertaking.
Lord, our Savior, our merciful Father! May my word fly up to Your Throne, may it not be lost in the prayers of others, may it not be defiled by sinful thoughts! You bless each of Your children to live a righteous and joyful life. You forgive and have mercy on every child who repents, healing with Your love and washing away the vices from the sinner’s brow. Those who constantly pray find peace and happiness at Your feet. Grant me, Lord, Your forgiveness and good luck in pious deeds pleasing to You. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!
How to pray correctly
To correctly pronounce a prayer service, you need to familiarize yourself with how to correctly read the prayer words:
- For prayer to be successful, it must be said sincerely and with a pure heart.
- When saying a prayer service, you need to use icons of the saint to whom the person is addressing.
- You should pray not in the office, but in church or at home.
- After finishing the prayer, you need to be in a prayer position for 5-7 minutes. This is done to think about the words spoken.
Prayer to the Mother of God
In order for everything to go well at work, the prayer of the Mother of God will help . She is a patroness and intercessor, helps in solving difficult life situations, consoles and guides on the right path. The sincere words of the person praying will definitely bring the desired result if he believes that help will definitely come to him. Mothers who care about the success of their children often turn to the Mother of God with such prayers.
O Most Holy Virgin Theotokos, Most Merciful Lady, Queen of Heaven and earth, every home and family of the Christian Blessing, blessings to those who labor, inexhaustible wealth to those in need, to the orphans and widows and all people to the Nurse! To our Nourisher, who gave birth to the Nourisher of the universe and to the Controversy of our breads, You, Lady, send Your Motherly blessing to our city, villages and fields, and to every house, in Your trust knowledge to those who have. Moreover, with reverent awe and a contrite heart, we humbly pray to Thee: be also for us, Thy sinful and unworthy servants, wise Housebuilder, ordering our lives well. Keep every community, every home and family in piety and Orthodoxy, like-mindedness, obedience and contentment. Feed the poor and needy, support old age, raise babies, teach everyone to sincerely cry out to the Lord: “Give us this day our daily bread.” Save, Most Pure Mother, Your people from all need, illness, famine, destruction, hail, fire, from all evil circumstances and all disorder. To our monastery (ves), to homes and families and to every Christian soul and to our entire country, grant peace and great mercy, may we glorify Thee, our Most Gracious Nourisher and Nourisher, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.
Can a Christian count on wealth?
The answer is clear - maybe.
There are many examples in the Bible when devotees of piety were simultaneously millionaires. Billions of rubles passed through the hands of I. Kronstadt. He built churches and monasteries and helped thousands of people in need. A striking example is King David, devoted to God. The richest man in the history of mankind is his son Solomon. There is another example. The pious young man, seeking salvation, heard from Christ that he lacked one thing - to distribute his property in order to follow the Teacher. When he left saddened, the Lord said to his disciples: “It is difficult for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” Why does such a different blessing come to people? One has billions, and the other is hampered by decent housing.
Prayer to Nicholas the Wonderworker for good luck in work
When a person devotes his soul to his business, but still cannot move up the career ladder or receive increased earnings, we can say that he is simply unlucky, that luck has turned against him. To change the situation, you can read a prayer to Nikolai Ugodnik for luck.
Oh, all-good Father Nicholas, shepherd and teacher of all who flow by faith to your intercession, and who call on you with warm prayer, quickly strive and deliver the flock of Christ from the wolves that destroy it, that is, from the invasion of the evil Latins who are rising against us.
Protect and preserve our country, and every country existing in Orthodoxy, with your holy prayers from worldly rebellion, the sword, the invasion of foreigners, from internecine and bloody warfare. And just as you had mercy on three men imprisoned, and you delivered them from the king’s wrath and the beating of the sword, so have mercy and delivered the Orthodox people of Great, Little and White Rus' from the destructive heresy of the Latin.
For through your intercession and help, and through His mercy and grace, may Christ God look with His merciful eye on people who exist in ignorance, even though they have not known their right hand, especially young people, by whom the Latin seductions are spoken to turn away from the Orthodox faith, may he enlighten the minds of His people, may they not be tempted and fall away from the faith of their fathers, may their conscience, lulled by vain wisdom and ignorance, awaken and turn their will to the preservation of the holy Orthodox faith, may they remember the faith and humility of our fathers, may their life be for the Orthodox faith who have laid down and accepted the warm prayers of His holy saints, who have shone in our land, keeping us from the delusion and heresy of the Latin, so that, having preserved us in holy Orthodoxy, He will grant us at His terrible Judgment to stand on the right hand with all the saints. Amen.
Prayer to Matrona of Moscow for success in work
The name of Matrona of Moscow is well known to those who turn to her with prayer for a successful day at work. The saint always responds to sincere heartfelt prayers for help, and the one who prays receives her help and support. If the prayer is read daily before the start of the working day, then good luck will definitely come.
O blessed one, Mati Matrono, hear and accept us now, sinners, praying to you, who have learned throughout your entire life to receive and listen to all those who suffer and mourn, with faith and hope for your intercession and help of those who come running, quick help and miraculous healing to all; May your mercy not fail now for us, unworthy, restless in this busy world and nowhere finding consolation and compassion in spiritual sorrows and help in physical illnesses; heal our illnesses. Deliver us from the temptations and torment of the devil, who passionately fights, help us carry our everyday Cross, endure all the hardships of life and not lose the image of God in it, preserve the Orthodox faith until the end of our days, have strong trust and hope in God and unfeigned love for our neighbors; help us, after departing from this life, to achieve the Kingdom of Heaven with all those who please God, glorifying the mercy and goodness of the Heavenly Father, glorified in the Trinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.
Why did they include the devil in the memorial?
Do you know who was “Luck”, or in other words, “Moloch”?
This is the god (actually the demon) of happiness. This is a huge statue cast from silver or copper. Inside there was a furnace, which, when heated, heated the metal to red. Babies were sacrificed to Moloch in exchange for good luck. They burned them in a special “frying pan”, to the sound of trumpets, kettledrums, and drums. People, stunned by the loud rhythmic sounds, danced and had fun. At one time, up to 50 innocent souls were “fed” to the deity. Sometimes it reached 500 if, for example, victory over the enemy was required. Moreover, only those whom the mother would sacrifice herself, voluntarily, were suitable for sacrifice. “Who needs luck?” the priests shouted, and they were not left without work. The babies were not given away because of poverty, the rich also wanted good luck, so they did not lag behind the rest.
Conclusion: If you wish, you can read about Moloch. And although no one will sacrifice their child for the sake of luck (although abortion is a kind of sacrifice to a bloodthirsty lady), all the same, the word is unpleasant for an Orthodox petition.
- Help, not luck.
- Contribution, not accidental success.
- Grace, but not fortune.
May the Lord help you all: find a good job, something you love, decent pay, well-being in a new team. Just always thank the giver of all blessings for everything. Remember, Heavenly Father can fulfill any request if the desire does not harm the soul.

About reading the Psalms on different occasions
Explained according to St. Arsenius of Cappadocia by the Athonite elder Paisius
The Monk Arseny used psalms for blessing, suitable for various occasions; especially in cases where there was no church order for a special need. The Greek primary source can be found in the publication “O Heron Paisios” by Hieromonk Christodoulos, Holy Mount Athos, 1994.
- Ps. 25. When someone asks God for something, so that He may give it without harm to the one asking.
- Ps. 57. May circumstances favor those who work with good intentions, and may the Lord rebuke demons and wicked people.
- Ps. 60. Those who find it difficult to work out of laziness or fear.
- Ps. 80. May the Lord not leave the poor in need and grief, who have fallen into despair from poverty.
- Ps. 100. May the Lord give gifts and talents to kind and simple-hearted people.
- Ps. 129. May the Lord grant courage and hope to those who are starting a new work and are not skilled in it, and may they not experience great difficulties.

Amen.
Holy Venerable Sergius of Radonezh
Healthy.
Saints who were monks who renounced the worldly to serve God and instruct people are called venerables. The name of this illustrious saint is known even to non-church, non-believing people. Having pleased God with a righteous life and unceasing prayer, St. Sergius has great power to ask the Lord for success in everyday affairs, and especially in studies. As a child, Sergius was not good at reading and he spent a long time secluded himself in the forest, praying to God for admonition.
One day the boy saw a monk in front of him holding out a piece of prosphora (church bread). Mistaking the monk for a wanderer, Sergius took him home, since his parents loved to provide shelter to travelers. After praying, the guest asked Sergius to read a few lines from the prayer book. The boy fearfully opened the book and, to the surprise of his parents, read the proposed text clearly and distinctly. Since then, studying was easy for him.
Before starting studies or exams, it is good to pray to St. Sergius.
Holy Venerable Sergius of Radonezh

Having great boldness towards the all-merciful Master, pray to save His servants (names), the grace of His believers existing in you and flowing to you with love: ask us from our most generous God for every gift that is beneficial to everyone and everyone, the observance of immaculate faith, the establishment of our cities, pacification of the world, deliverance from famine and destruction, preservation from the invasion of foreigners, consolation for the afflicted, healing for the sick, restoration for the fallen, return to those who have gone astray to the path of truth and salvation, strengthening for those who struggle, prosperity and blessing for those who do good in deeds, education for the infant, instruction for the young, admonition for the ignorant. , for orphans and widows, intercession, departing from this temporary life to eternal life, a good preparation and parting words, those who have departed into blessed repose, and all of us, through your prayers that help us, on the day of the Last Judgment, be granted deliverance, and the gums of the country will be fellow members and hear that blessed voice of the Lord Christ: Come, blessed ones of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

Don't chase luck
The word “luck” is not associated with Orthodoxy.
If we turn to the true meaning, it is luck, chance, fortune, when circumstances develop in such a way that a person receives wealth without effort. For example, playing in a casino, giving money at huge interest rates. Therefore, the most successful ones are oligarchs, gambling salon owners, bankers, sharpers, robbers, etc. Unjustly acquired wealth is akin to luck. God is the enemy of all this. You should not envy or imitate them, for such people are far from salvation. Eternal torment awaits them. The Lord endures until they receive the full measure of punishment and perish irrevocably. Let them enjoy themselves on earth, for eternal weeping and gnashing of teeth awaits them. It's scary and creepy.
Don’t imitate them by selling your soul for “luck.” For example, prosperous Americans live well, in abundance, but they are all in debt, like silk. They will leave their loans to their children as an inheritance. But bankers are successful businessmen, they strip poor people of their skins. Be careful with your luck. Do not covet their sins, but rejoice when the Lord is with you.
Luck is a bloodthirsty lady
You don’t have to believe the story I’m going to tell; the debate about the truth of the story continues. And the modern concept of luck differs from the previous one. But for general enlightenment, learn about this “bloodthirsty lady” from the words of the pious Romanian elder Cleopas Ilie, who, seeing requests for good luck for his relatives in the notes, was indignant and said the following:
