Prayer rules actually exist in Orthodoxy; as a rule, deeply religious Christians use them day after day, saying the words of a miraculous prayer in a church in front of an icon with a candle in their hand.

Prayer Song Rules
Psalm 90 requires constant work to produce results. The believer must work in prayer. It is better to memorize the text and then read it when it becomes alarming.
Theophan the Hermit advised reading hymns of praise at any time. Often we need God's living help.
You can also sing songs of praise at home.
To work, they must meet the following conditions:
- This person must be baptized, wearing a cross is mandatory.
- The Psalms are to be used by the sanctified in the church.
- Before reading, you need to calm down. You can atone for bad deeds mentally.
- It is advisable to ask the priest for a blessing to read the psalm. If there is no desire or opportunity, you can say: “God bless you.” You can also call your guardian angel.
- Standing in front of the icon of Jesus Christ, it is useful to read a hymn of praise.
- It is better to recite this text in silence so that the family is not disturbed during prayer.
- Parishioners light church candles.
- When reading this prayer, you need to put your soul into the words, opening your heart to communicate with the Lord. It is useful to fill phrases with love for God. The Almighty hears not only the words that a person utters, but also looks at his feelings and emotions.
Prayer is difficult, but over time such an appeal to God will become a necessity. This means that someone has made progress on the spiritual path.
Psalm 90 is read in the morning, when nature is just waking up. But there are times when protection is needed urgently, then it is repeated everywhere.
The hymn of praise is appropriate to ask for protection not only for oneself, but also for relatives and children. For this purpose, this text is pronounced for 40 days, in each of them they pray 40 times. When a prayer is said, desires are conveyed to the Lord with a request for help.
What not to do when reading
Formally, the text does not help. If one does not feel that all people stand before God, he will not receive an answer from Him. There will be no help if a person is driven by selfish interests and wants to make profit from others. The little ones won't get anything.
Praise is not a medicine, but a way to work in the spiritual realm. A person must direct his energy to his own development.
Appropriate place
Psalm 90 in Russian is said at home in the privacy of your own room. But you can tell yourself this as you go to work. A person living in a metropolis can mentally pronounce these words.
Prayer for Living Help in Russian (Old Russian language)
This text is usually read by priests in church:
Alive in the help of the Most High, he will dwell in the blood of the Heavenly God. Says the Lord: My God is my protector and my refuge, and I trust in Him. For He will deliver you from the net of the trap, and from the words of rebellion, His splash will fall over you, and under His wing you hope: His truth will surround you with a weapon. Fear not from the fear of the night, from the arrow that flies in the days, from the things that pass in the darkness, from the grime, and from the demon of the midday. A thousand will fall from your country, and darkness will be at your right hand, but it will not come near you, except with your eyes you will see, and you will see the reward of sinners. For You, Lord, are my hope, and have made the Most High your refuge. Evil will not come to you, and the wound will not come near your body, as His Angel commanded you about you, to preserve you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their arms, but when you hit your foot on a stone, you will step on the asp and the basilisk, and trample the lion and the serpent. Because I have trusted in Me, I will deliver you; I will cover you, because I have known My name. He will call to Me, and I will hear him: I am with him in tribulation, I will destroy him and glorify him, I will fill him with long days, and I will show him My salvation.
Belts with prayer
Icon shops sell fabric belts of different colors with the text of the psalm printed on them. In folk beliefs, such a ribbon is considered a talisman and is worn as an amulet. The magical nature of amulets, which supposedly protects a person regardless of his state of mind and actions, contradicts the spirit of Orthodoxy. The protective properties of a belt do not lie in wearing it without taking it off. The belt reminds of the Lord’s help, His protection, that no one and nothing else determines the course of life and does not dominate it. Sincere prayer to God is often enough to receive help, and the belt in this case acts as an auxiliary tool: it encourages prayer and sets one up for a righteous life.
Just because there is a belt does not mean that God takes better care of its owner. It is more important to learn the prayer by heart and repeat it when necessary.
This shrine should be perceived as a reminder of the need for correction, striving for heavenly perfection, and imitation of the saints.

Yes, Mother, deliver me: from pain and illness, from the snare of the catcher, from the cry of the caller, from the sly, from the 12 fevers, from the agitated and ticklish, from ulcers and wind-borne pestilence, from the slander of the enemy, from the captivity of sorcerers and witchcraft, from the magic of others and start a human one, from all evil.
With two wings you hug the earth, with your voice you fill the sky.
With your wings, protect me and my relatives, and under your wings I will find a shield and support, thousands of words spelled out for black deeds will fall at my feet, sharp knives and damask swords, red-hot arrows - flying day or night, plagues that walk in the darkness, plagues that devastate morning or evening dawn. May they not come close to me, may they not touch my work, my body, or my soul. I will look into the eyes of the Great Mother and see the reflection of the stars and retribution against my enemy and my family.
For the Mother commanded to protect her children in all their ways!
Cover me with your feathers, let me drink from your cup of life, and my weapon will be your truth and your love and care of the Great Mother for me (the name of the rivers), my family and all your children.
With your voice, cleanse my mind and soul, dispel the sadness and melancholy in my heart. Illuminate you with your light.
Touch my forehead with your lips, look into my soul with your eyes, pass over my body with your fingers.
For the mother commanded to protect her children in all their ways!
And you will carry me on the wings of the eastern wind, so that I will not stumble over an evil word with my foot, over an envious heart with my soul, I will step on the snake and the crown, I will trample on human pride and anger, and from you, the Great Mother, I will receive protection and forgiveness, and your love.
For the Mother commanded to protect her children in all their ways!
I (name of the rivers) living (living) in the house of my Mother, under her shield, with her sword, under her goodness,
Whoever says a magical, evil word against me and my family will fall under this word; whoever does a magical, evil thing against me and my family will return evil and will not escape from his evil.
For the mother commanded to guard her children in all their ways.
Your spirit, Great Mother, will come with me and my children (my family), give me and my family (my children and my family) the happiness of knowing your love and protection. Show your help, Great Mother.

Dua for help from Allah
Dua for receiving assistance from Allah (Photo source: freepik.com).
Each of us in this world is busy building a happy and prosperous life in this world. To do this, we work, have a family, friends, and acquire the things we need.
We work hard day and night for well-being, but very often we forget that our well-being primarily depends not on our diligence, but on divine assistance (tawfiq).
Whoever Allah grants this assistance will be able to achieve everything he strives for, and whoever Allah leaves without support and help will not be able to achieve anything, even if all creation in the world helps him.
When the people of the prophet Shuiba rejected his call and clearly showed their aggression towards him, he informed them that Allah Almighty himself was his protector: “Only Allah helps me. In Him alone do I trust, to Him alone do I turn” (Hood, 88). In Arabic it sounds like this: “Wa ma taufiqi illa billah,” which can be literally translated as “Taufiq (assistance and protection) is granted to me only by Allah Almighty.”
To receive tawfiq (assistance) of the Lord, it is necessary to obey His commands and distance oneself from His prohibitions, because those who disobey are deprived of the protection of the Almighty and His mercy. In addition, we must earnestly pray for this assistance.
The Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ) contains various formulas of prayer with which he addressed Allah for support and protection. We will look at some of them below.
In the collection of Imam at-Tirmidhi, there is a beautiful prayer that the Prophet (ﷺ) read to receive tawfiq from Allah Almighty:
All rights reserved.
Transliteration:
“Rabbi a'inni wa la tu'in galayya, van-surni wa la tansur galayya, wa-mkur li wa la tamkur galayya, wa-khdini wa yasiri-l-huda ilayya. Va-nsurni galya man baga galaiyya. Rabbi-j'alni laka shakkaran, laka zakkaran, laka rahhaban, laka mitva'an, ilyayka mukhbitan, avvahan, muniban. Rabbi takabbal taubati, wagsil haubati, wa adjib da'vati, wa sabbit hujati, wahdi kalbi, wa saddid lisani, was-lul sahimata kalbi."
Translation:
“Oh, my Lord! Help me and do not help against me, assist me and do not provide Your assistance against me. Create a trick for me, but do not create it against me. Guide me and make it easier for me to be guided on the straight path. Help me against those who are at enmity with me. My Lord! Make me grateful to You, often remembering Your name, fearing Your displeasure, obedient, turning to You and submissive to Your will. My Lord! Accept my repentance, cleanse me from the filth of sin, answer my prayers, make me steadfast in argument (against lies and error), instruct my heart, make my tongue speak the truth and heal the diseases of my heart!
Scientists have counted 22 requests in this prayer, each of which concerns very important issues in our lives. Among them are the help and assistance of Allah in worldly affairs and the affairs of Eternity, healing from spiritual diseases, which include such terrible ailments as envy, arrogance, cowardice, greed, and so on.

Dua of Prophet Yunus
Finding yourself in a seemingly hopeless situation, a person loses hope and despairs. A true believer never loses hope in the assistance of Allah Almighty. An example of this is the story of the great prophet Yunus (a.s.).
In anger, leaving the people to whom he was sent, and who rejected his call, Prophet Yunus (a.s.) sailed away on a ship. The sea became raging, and people decided to throw overboard the one on whom the lot would fall. Three times the lot pointed to the prophet, whom they threw into the sea. As a result, he was swallowed by a huge fish, in whose belly he spent a long time: “He fled to a crowded ship. He cast lots (along with the others), and the lot fell to him. He was swallowed by a fish (whale) when he already regretted (having left the house)” (as-Saffat, 140-142).
In such a situation, many would despair and get used to the idea of imminent death, but not the prophet Yunus. He realized his mistake, repented and turned to Allah with a prayer:
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِي نَ
Transliteration:
“La ilaha illya anta, subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimin!”
Translation:
“There is no one worthy of worship except you! Most pure are You (from any shortcomings)! Truly, I did wrong!”
Instruction for Fatima
One day the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) addressed Fatima with instructions, saying: “Listen to my advice and turn to Allah through this prayer morning and evening:
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْ نِي كُلَّهُ وَلا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرَفَةَ عَيْنٍ
Transliteration:
"Ya Hayyu, ya Kayyumu, birahmatika astigisu, aslih li sha'ni kullahu wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata 'ainin."
Translation:
“O Living One, O Ever-Existing One, I turn to Thy mercy for protection, put all my affairs in order and do not trust me to my nafs even for a moment!”

Live Help: Belt
The Living Aid protective belt will protect its owner from imminent disaster. Traditionally, the text of the powerful prayer Living in Help has long been embroidered on belts, hence the name of the belt of powerful power Living Help. At the monastery or in the church you can buy a ready-made belt, which is a ribbon with a prayer applied with indelible paint. Such a Living Help belt has the ability to protect its owner and bring good luck.
Church officials recommend tying and wearing a belt correctly. Before putting on the belt, you must read the sacred prayer text and tie a knot on the belt on the left side (the correct one would be under the left hand).
Bracelet Live Help
Amulet bracelets, recognized by the church, on which the Orthodox prayer is applied - a special amulet bracelet Living Help. Options for bracelets can be selected and purchased at the church store; they have different designs and, as a rule, have an engraved prayer text. How to wear Live Aid correctly:
- The bracelet serves as a protective amulet against damage and the evil eye, therefore, it is better to wear it, hiding it from prying eyes;
- On which hand to put the amulet on, on which hand to wear the bracelet - everyone can independently choose a convenient option for themselves;
- A bracelet purchased in a Holy Place for yourself can be put on your hand immediately so that the protection begins to work;
- Amulets have enormous protective power; saying the words of prayer before putting on the bracelet for the first time strengthens faith and increases the power of the amulet.
To whom can the prayer text be read?
While reading the prayer “Alive in Help,” God hears us and how our Father helps. The help and protection of the Lord is God's reward. This reward is given to those who believe in Him.
The Lord helps a person with few sins and many sins with the hope of gaining and strengthening faith, trusting in God’s help.
It is worth understanding that everything is the will of the Lord. People who live today according to God's commandments can be punished for terrible sins committed earlier. When contacting such people in a dangerous situation, God's help can be provided to a small extent, as an opportunity to atone for sins.
Before reading the text, you need to know how the Living Aid Prayer helps, to whom and how it can be read. The Living Amulet in Help is a prayer that reminds people with its text so that they do not overstep God’s commandments and live according to these commandments.
Why do even people far from Christianity read this prayer?
To verify its effectiveness. Doubts constantly torment a person deprived of true faith. He himself wants, personally, as Thomas Aquinas once did, to verify the veracity of everything he has heard about miraculous prayer.
Of course, Psalm 90 impresses anyone. It clearly shows what an Orthodox Christian possesses. Even an unbeliever feels all its power and protection.
Sometimes it happens that he begins to understand how much he has lost by departing from the Lord. Illuminated by such a discovery, the lucky person who has “seen the light” steps on the right path. To join at least a little to the great faith of Orthodoxy.
This is the miracle of influence this prayer has!
