Prayer, a sincere and open conversation with God, occupies a central place in the life of a believer. We turn to Him when we feel bad, asking the Lord about the causes of life's troubles. We give thanks to Heaven for the good events that have happened in our lives, asking them to help us, our family and friends. The reasons for prayers are different: good, bad, neutral. You can pray for deliverance from troubles and illnesses, or asking for grace in business, family life, love, health. Prayers that can be read every day are presented in the article.
"Our Father"
One of the oldest prayer texts is the “Our Father.” The main Christian prayer, given by Jesus Christ to his disciples, is considered universal. It helps with many problems.
According to this prayer text, a true Christian:
- believes in eternal life in Heaven;
- ready to submit to God's will;
- turns to the Lord with a request to grant everything necessary for life;
- assures the Almighty that he forgives those guilty before him and asks God for forgiveness of his sins.
Any Orthodox believer needs to know these sacred words by heart and read the prayer daily.
Text of the main prayer of Christians:
“Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done, as it is on earth, so it is in heaven; Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever and ever. Amen".
Prayers that help everyone, always, and that you need to know
It is customary to address God in special words. They are called upon to be a means of help in any situation, a means of communication with the Lord, regardless of the circumstances. They act as spiritual support and cleansing of the soul from negative energy. Prayers of this kind have a beneficial effect on the mind, opening up new possibilities and restoring clarity to the mind.
Among such prayers, three stand out in particular. “Our Father”, a prayer to the Guardian Angel and a prayer to the Council of the Twelve Apostles for troubles and troubles. Similar ones are read regardless of the time of day, the circumstances of the reading and the mood of the worshiper. If the mood at the time of the ritual leaves much to be desired, God’s words will help lift it and find peace of mind. If the person praying is in a wonderful, upbeat mood, prayer will only improve him, give him vigor, energy and good health.

- Our Father
The first thing any Christian remembers when they hear the word “prayer.” Everyone needs to know it; they memorize it in childhood. In Sunday schools, lessons begin with it. In ancient times, this appeal was the first conveyed to the human people by Jesus Christ. It is called the most perfect Christian prayer, and it was given by Jesus in response to the request of his disciples to teach them how to pray correctly.
The Church Slavonic version of “Our Father” sounds like this:
Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Another version of “Our Father” is also known, simpler and closer to Russian people:
Our Father who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
(Matt. 6:9-13)
- Appeal to the Guardian Angel
A prayer to the Guardian Angel is read every morning. A serious attitude towards it and sincere faith in its power will provide the reader with constant protection from harm for the whole day.
Read this text:
Oh, holy angel, interceding before our Creator for my soul, my body and my life! Do not leave me and do not depart from me for all my sins. I ask you, do not let the evil demon take possession of my soul and my body. Strengthen my soul and direct it to the true path. I ask you, angel of God and guardian of my soul, forgive me all the sins with which I have offended you throughout my unrighteous life. Forgive all my sins that I committed on the past day, and protect me on the new day. Save my soul from various temptations, so that I do not anger our Creator. I ask you, pray for me before our Creator, so that His mercy and peace of mind may come to me. Amen.
Another version of the prayer, short but also strong, is read before leaving home or on the way to work:
My angel, come with me All day long I will live with faith and serve You.
Before going to bed, another prayer is read to the Guardian Angel , aimed at protecting against evil in a dream, when a person is most vulnerable:
Angel of God, my holy guardian, given to me from God from heaven for my protection! I diligently pray to you: enlighten me today, save me from all evil, guide me to good deeds, and direct me on the path of salvation. Amen.
- Appeal to the Apostles
Prayer to the Council of the Twelve Apostles - support for the whole family.
With its help, you can impose protection on all your family and friends:
About the saints, the apostles of Christ: Peter and Andrew, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew, James and Jude, Simon and Matthew! Hear our prayers and sighs, now offered by our contrite hearts, and help us, the servants of God (names), through your powerful intercession before the Lord, to get rid of all evil and enemy flattery, and to firmly preserve the Orthodox faith that you have devoted to us, without any wounds in it through your intercession, We will not be belittled by reprimand, nor by pestilence, nor by any wrath from our Creator, but we will live a peaceful life here and be honored to see good things on the land of the living, glorifying the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, the One in the Trinity, glorified and worshiped God, now and ever and to the ages centuries.
How to pray?
Come to any church, ask the priest about how to pray correctly and the answer will be short: with all your soul. No matter where or how you pray, it is important to put all your sincere faith into the words you say.
If it is not possible to visit the temple, you can pray at home. It is recommended to do this in solitude, both in the morning and in the evening. At night, it is recommended to light a church candle for better concentration and purification of the atmosphere. It will also not be superfluous (but also not obligatory) to have an icon in front of your eyes. When addressing a specific saint, the icon must correspond to him; in classical prayer, the icon can depict the baby Jesus or the Mother of God.
"Psalm 90"
This sacred text, written by David, has a second title - “Alive in Help.” The essence of “Psalm 91” is that the Lord gives strength to a sincere believer to overcome any difficulties.
When reading sacred lines, a person’s soul is purified and united with God. Psalm 90 helps:
- recover from serious illnesses;
- get rid of sinful thoughts;
- overcome any adversity;
- gain peace of mind;
- protect yourself from enemy intrigues.
Prayer words are read three times every day. Before praying, you need to properly tune in to focus on every word. Since the text is quite complex, it is not always possible to quickly learn it by heart. Therefore, at first the psalm can be read from a sheet of paper.
“Live in Help” sounds like this:
“He who lives in the help of the Most High will dwell in the shelter of the Heavenly God. Says the Lord: Thou art my intercessor and my refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. For He will deliver you from the snare of the trap, and from rebellious words, His splash will overshadow you, and under His wing you hope: His truth will surround you with weapons. Do not be afraid from the fear of the night, from the arrow that flies during the day, from the thing passing in the darkness, from the cloak, and from the demon at midday. Thousands will fall from your country, and darkness will be at your right hand, but it will not come close to you: behold your eyes, and you will see the reward of sinners. For You, O Lord, are my hope, You have made the Most High your refuge. Evil will not come to you, and wound will not approach your body: as His Angel commanded you, keep you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their arms, and one day you will dash your foot against a stone: you will step on an asp and a basilisk, and you will cross a lion and a serpent. For I have trusted in Me, and I will deliver, and I will cover, and because I have known My name. He will call to Me, and I will hear him: I am with him in sorrow, I will destroy him, and I will glorify him, I will fill him with long days, and I will show him My salvation.”
Prayer for failures in life: who to pray to
We often meet people on the street who say that a “dark streak” has begun in their lives. Such words can also be heard from relatives or close people. Naturally, you immediately want to help or advise a person something good and useful that will help him. In this case, a prayer for failures in life is suitable. Who should I pray to?
There is a very powerful prayer from enemies and failures, “The Ninety-Nine Names of God.” The words of this prayer are sent to God. You need to read it every day, at least 7 times.
Prayer for failures in life and who to pray to
Important: If you have suffered setbacks in life, you can pray to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Matrona of Moscow or Ksenia of St. Petersburg (there are prayers to these saints above). You can turn to God in front of the saints with your sincere and sincere words.
"Symbol of faith"
The main tenets of Orthodoxy are briefly outlined in the text of one of the main prayers - the “Creed”. The main difference between this prayer and others is the absence of a direct appeal to the Lord, the Mother of God or the saints. By reading this sacred text, a believer confirms his faith in one God the Father and his Son - Jesus Christ.
The “Creed” is read by the godparents during the baptism of the baby. Therefore, before the sacrament of Baptism, future godparents must learn the prayer text by heart.
Sacred words of the Creed:
“I believe in one God, the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, of everything visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only Begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages: Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not created, one being with the Father, by Him all things were created. For the sake of us people and for the sake of our salvation, he came down from heaven and took flesh from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became a man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried. And rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures. And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; His Kingdom will have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, worshiped and glorified with the Father and the Son, who spoke through the prophets. Into one, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I recognize one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look forward to the resurrection of the dead. And the life of the next century. Amen".
Prayers for healing - the most effective prayers
In recent years, the number of diseases has increased. There are many factors that negatively affect health:
- Bad ecology;
- Regular consumption of processed foods, cigarettes and alcohol;
- Stress at work and in the family;
- Lack of sleep and proper rest.
Health problems can strike anyone. The course of the disease varies, but the most important thing in such a situation is not to lose faith and hope for the best. It is important not to fall into despair and not give up, even if the doctors’ diagnosis is not reassuring. Both the patient himself and his friends and relatives can read prayers for healing. It is these actions that help to cope with the disease and maintain fortitude in a difficult situation.
The most powerful prayer is one pronounced sincerely, with true faith and a pure heart. There are many examples when prayer helped in healing the most seriously ill patients. It would be good if, in addition to regular reading of prayer texts, a prayer service for health was ordered in church. This combination will not cause any harm, and the chances of recovery will be greater. Below are the texts of the most effective prayers used to heal the sick.
Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary
During the reading of morning prayers, they turn not only to the Lord God, but also to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
It is customary to address the Most Holy Theotokos with a prayer glorifying the Queen of Heaven and her Son. The clergy recommend reading these prayer words several times throughout the day, so they must be memorized.
A hymn of praise to the Mother of God is read:
- in gratitude for the help;
- going on the road;
- starting a meal;
- during times of sorrow and sorrow.
Brief prayer text “Rejoice, Mother of God”:
“Virgin Mother of God, rejoice, blessed Mary, the Lord is with you; Blessed are You among women, and blessed is the Fruit of Your womb, for You have given birth to the Savior of our souls.”
Prayer for a happy family life: who to pray to

"Jesus Prayer"
Appeals to Jesus Christ are constantly heard from the lips of believers. It is enough to say a few short words, and peace of mind is restored, melancholy goes away, pain is relieved. The second part of the prayer is especially important, where a person admits himself to be a sinner. The “Jesus Prayer” is said before people are going to pray or ask something from the Lord.
This short sacred phrase of just a few words is very powerful. It sounds like this:
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, through the prayers of Your Most Pure Mother, our reverend and God-bearing fathers and all the saints, have mercy and save us, as you are Good and Lover of Mankind. Amen".
Recommendations for working with prayers
In general, there are quite a lot of Orthodox prayers designed to attract good luck. Above are the three strongest of them. Which of the prayers (to the Lord, Guardian Angel, Nicholas the Wonderworker) to choose for yourself is up to you to decide. Listen to your heart, trust your intuition, your soul - these three most reliable tips will help you make the right choice. And your life will certainly be filled with luck and divine blessing.
Whatever prayer you prefer, remember that when saying any of them you need to create a certain mood. The power of prayer directly depends on faith. The desire, power of thought and energy of the person praying are important. Appealing to higher powers with prayer gives the sufferer confidence, faith in himself, gives hope and strengthens his consciousness.
Only sincere prayer coming from the very heart of the person praying will be heard by God and his holy helpers. At the same time, his intentions must also be pure, devoid of selfishness, selfishness or malice. By turning to God for bad reasons, a person risks drawing the Creator’s wrath upon himself. This means that luck will not only turn away from him, but will also leave him for a long time - until he manages to atone for his sins and beg forgiveness from higher powers.

"Trisagion"
Any Christian who has attended a church service at least once has heard the text of the Trisagion Prayer. This is a powerful amulet that protects a person from various troubles.
It is customary to read it daily, along with other prayers. With these prayer words, believers turn to the Most Holy Trinity, therefore the prayer is considered miraculous. It is advisable to read it in front of the icon of the Holy Trinity, having first thrown out of your head all thoughts about worldly concerns. After pronouncing each verse, you should make the sign of the cross and bow.
The prayer is short and not difficult to remember:
“Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (Read three times, with the sign of the cross and a bow from the waist). Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen".
Prayer for a long life: who to pray to
Life for a believer is a huge gift from God. But this heavenly gift is always counterbalanced by the evil of the devil, who sends us wars, illnesses, temptations, and epidemics. Holy spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity. He was sent by the Lord to do His will. The Holy Spirit is the Divine who lives inside every Christian and helps to overcome the devil's temptation. The Holy Spirit contributed to the emergence of the Universe and the writing of the Bible. Thanks to the Divine, people were able to comprehend the essence of Christianity.
Prayerful words addressed to the Holy Spirit help:
- heal from various diseases;
- cope with difficulties;
- strengthen faith;
- cleanse yourself from sin.
God's Spirit is invoked before the main prayers to prepare oneself spiritually.
Text of the message to the Holy Spirit:

Prayer to save a life and who to pray to
What other prayers exist to save lives, and who should you pray to? You need to pray to God or the Holy Trinity for protection.
Life Saving Prayer
Holy Trinity
One of the most powerful prayers is an appeal to the Holy Trinity. It first sounds like an appeal to all three Hypostases simultaneously, and then to each Divine Face separately. The Holy Trinity helps guide a person on the true path and cleanse him from sins. She helps those praying during life’s difficulties, instilling hope in overcoming difficult trials. People approach the Holy Trinity by kneeling before an image or iconostasis.
Words of the prayer text:
“Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our iniquities; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name's sake. Lord have mercy. (Three times). Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen".
How to read and listen to sacred texts correctly
You shouldn’t give up prayer if you can’t go to church, because you can call on the patron saints at home. To do this, you need to prepare at least several images, placing them in any corner or on the bedside table. Usually, church candles are lit in front of these icons, if necessary, sprinkled with blessed water in the corners.
Having sincere faith in the heart is of great importance
As for the pronunciation of the text itself, it is strongly recommended to read it by heart, slowly and avoiding strong emotional overtones in your speech. It is extremely important to concentrate on your own conversion, without allowing anyone to interfere with the process at this moment. At the same time, the presence of sincere faith in the heart is also of great importance, without which even the strongest prayer turns into a meaningless set of words.
Guardian Angel
Each person, having accepted the sacrament of Baptism, receives a guardian angel who protects him until death. The Guardian Angel is asked:
- protect from troubles and enemies;
- intercede before the Lord for forgiveness of sins;
- help you make the right decision;
- improve your health.
When turning to the invisible Divine being, it is advisable to retire, completely concentrating on prayer words that sound like this:
“Angel of Christ, my holy guardian and patron of my soul and body, forgive me everything if I have sinned on this day, and deliver me from all the wickedness of the enemy who opposes me, so that I may not anger my God in any sin; but pray for me, a sinful and unworthy servant, that you may show me worthy of the goodness and mercy of the All-Holy Trinity and the Mother of my Lord Jesus Christ and all the saints. Amen".
For human health
Often in prayer books people turn to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker for help. This believer is considered revered among many, who always helps to fulfill a request.
“All-blessed Father Nicholas! To the shepherd and teacher of all who flow by faith to your intercession, and who call you with warm prayer! Strive soon and deliver the flock of Christ from the wolves that are destroying it, and protect every Christian country and save the saints with your prayers from worldly rebellion, cowardice, invasion of foreigners and internecine warfare, from famine, flood, fire, sword and vain death. And just as you had mercy on three men sitting in prison, and you delivered them from the king’s wrath and the beating of the sword, so have mercy on me, in mind, word and deed, drying out the darkness of sins, and deliver me from the wrath of God and eternal punishment; for through your intercession and help, with His mercy and grace, Christ God will give me a quiet and sinless life to live in this world, and deliver me to the right hand with all the saints. Amen".
“May God rise again, and may His enemies be scattered, and may those who hate Him flee from His presence. As smoke disappears, let them disappear; as wax melts in the presence of fire, so let demons perish from the presence of those who love God and signify themselves with the sign of the cross, and who say in joy: Rejoice, Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, drive away the demons by force on you of our Lord Jesus Christ, who descended into hell and trampled upon the power the devil, and who gave us His Honest Cross to drive away every adversary. O Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Virgin Mary and with all the saints forever. Amen".
“Benefactor, holy angel, my guardian forever and ever, as long as I live. Your ward is calling to you, hear me and come down to me. As you have done me good many times, do me good again. I am pure before God, I have not done anything wrong before people. I lived by faith before, and I will continue to live by faith, and therefore the Lord has endowed me with His mercy, and by His will you protect me from all adversity. So let the will of the Lord come true and you, saint, fulfill it. I ask you for a happy life for yourself and your family, and this will be the highest reward from the Lord for me. Hear me, heavenly angel, and help me, fulfill the will of God. Amen".
“The indefatigable Psalter is read not only about health, but also about peace. Since ancient times, ordering commemoration on the Everlasting Psalter has been considered a great alms for a departed soul.”
"Psalm 50"
Every person is a sinner, but salvation and healing of the soul is impossible without repentance. For such cases, there is “Psalm 50,” written by King David.
The prayer of repentance reads:
- when the soul is heavy because of a sin committed;
- before taking communion;
- to ask the Lord for mercy.
The sacred text is read twice a day: morning and evening. At church services, the prayer text is read in Church Slavonic. But at home the song of praise can be sung in Russian.
Old Slavonic version of the prayer:
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your compassions, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; For I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me. You alone have I sinned and done evil before You; for you may be justified in Your words, and you will always triumph over Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have shown me Your unknown and secret wisdom. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. There is joy and gladness in my ears; the bones of the humble will rejoice. Turn away Your face from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create a pure heart in me, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not turn me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me. Give me the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked your way, and wickedness will turn to you. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; my tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a contrite and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then take pleasure in the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; Then they will place the bullock on Your altar.”
Text of “Psalm 50” in Russian:
“Have mercy on me. God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your compassions, blot out my iniquities.
Wash me often from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin, for I am aware of my iniquities, and my sin is always before me.
You, You alone, have I sinned and done evil in Your sight, so that You are righteous in Your judgment and pure in Your judgment.
Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sin.
Behold, You have loved the truth in your heart and have shown me (Your) wisdom within me.
Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness, and the bones will rejoice. Broken by you.
Turn Your face away from my sins and blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Sovereign Spirit.
I will teach the wicked Your ways, and the wicked will turn to You.
Deliver me from bloodshed. O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue will praise Your righteousness.
Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise:
for You do not desire sacrifice, I would give it; You do not favor burnt offerings.
A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; You will not despise a contrite and humble heart, O God.
Bless Zion, O Lord, according to Your good pleasure; build up the walls of Jerusalem:
then the sacrifices of righteousness, the wave offerings, and the burnt offerings will be acceptable to You; Then they will place bullocks on Your altar.”
Prayer for healing to Sergius of Radonezh
Sergius of Radonezh is rightfully considered the main intercessor and defender of the Orthodox. The saint lived in the 14th century; the city of Rostov is considered to be his birthplace. Already in adolescence, inexplicable things happened to Sergius. Studying at the parish school was not easy for the young man; reading divine scripture did not bring joy. One day the youth met the elder and told him about his troubles. He blessed Sergius, and from then on his studies did not cause him any difficulties. Over time, he began to preach Christianity throughout the country and received the rank of abbot. It was Sergius of Radonezh who blessed Prince Dmitry Donskoy on the eve of the Battle of Kulikovo.
Hegumen Sergius founded the Trinity Lavra of Sergius in the city of Radonezh. His relics are also located here, and people from all over the country come to venerate them. Prayers addressed to the saint are of a different nature: someone asks the saint for the establishment of work and business, for success in learning, for the healing of serious illnesses. The text of the prayer is:
“O venerable and God-bearing Father Sergius! Look upon us (names) mercifully and, those who are devoted to the earth, lead us to the heights of heaven. Strengthen our cowardice and confirm us in faith, so that we undoubtedly hope to receive all the good things from the mercy of the Lord God through your prayers. By your intercession, ask for every gift that is useful to everyone and for everyone, and through your prayers that help us all, on the day of the Last Judgment we will be able to be delivered from the last part, and the right lands of the country will be common and the blessed voice of the Lord Christ will hear: come, blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Amen".
Another version of the prayer text that most believers use:
“Oh, sacred head, reverend and God-bearing Father Sergius, by your prayer, and by faith and love, even for God, and by the purity of your heart, you have settled your soul on earth in the monastery of the Most Holy Trinity, and have been granted angelic communion and the visitation of the Most Holy Theotokos, and the gift of miraculous grace received, after your departure from the earthly, especially drawing closer to God and joining the heavenly powers, but not retreating from us with the spirit of love, and your honest power, like a vessel of grace full and overflowing, left to us!
Having great boldness towards the All-Merciful Master, pray to save His servants, His grace existing in you, believing and flowing to you with love. Ask us from our Greatly Gifted God every gift that is useful to everyone and everyone: observance of the immaculate faith, establishment of our cities, peace, pacification, deliverance from famine and destruction, preservation from the invasion of foreigners, consolation for the grieving, healing for the sick, restoration for the fallen, for those who are led astray on the path of truth and return of salvation, strengthening for those who strive, prosperity and blessing for those who do good in good deeds, upbringing of infants, instruction for the young, admonition for the ignorant, intercession for orphans and widows, departing from this temporary life for the eternal, good preparation and parting words, blessed rest for those departed, and all of us assisted by your prayers vouchsafe on the day of the Last Judgment to be delivered from this part, and to be part of the right hand of the country and to hear that blessed voice of the Lord Christ: “Come, blessed ones of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” Amen".
The effectiveness of prayer is greatly enhanced if you read it daily for forty days. It is best to pray in front of an icon with a lit candle.
Thank you note
Many people are accustomed to turning to the Lord only when they find themselves in a difficult situation. And very often they forget to thank the Almighty, or they thank only after receiving help.
But a prayer of thanksgiving to Jesus Christ should be offered daily. After all, the Lord is constantly nearby, giving life, natural treasures, family, health, children, friends, and relatives.
You need to thank God for everything that a person has at the moment. Having learned to appreciate every little thing, a person begins to understand that everything that happens in the world is subject to the Will of the Almighty.
Text of the thanksgiving prayer:
“We thank Thee, Lord our God, for all Thy good deeds, even from the first age to the present, in us, Thy unworthy servants (names), who were, known and unknown, about those revealed and unmanifested, even those who were in deed and in word: who loved us Just as you deigned to give Your Only Begotten Son for us, make us worthy of Your love. Grant with Your word wisdom and with Your fear inhale strength from Your power, and whether we have sinned, whether willingly or unwillingly, forgive and not impute, and keep our soul holy, and present it to Thy Throne, having a clear conscience, and the end is worthy of Thy love for mankind; and remember, O Lord, all who call upon Thy name in truth, remember all who desire good or evil against us: for all are men, and every man is in vain; We also pray to You, Lord, grant us Your great mercy.”
Prayers of thanksgiving to the glory of the Lord for help and intercession
It is imperative to thank God through prayers for his help and intercession. For this purpose, special prayers of thanks are used.
Text of thanksgiving prayer
You can thank the Lord at any time with these simple prayer words:
“Lord, I thank You for my good life, filled with bright light, for the fact that there are wonderful feelings in my soul, for the fact that I can show mercy and compassion to others. What is the essence of the prayer of gratitude?
Gratitude expressed to the Almighty in a prayer text is like a ray of light that drives out darkness from the soul. You can not only pray yourself, but also order a thanksgiving prayer service in the temple.
A prayer of thanksgiving always has a cleansing character. After it, a person gets rid of anger and hatred. With a prayer of gratitude, the believer always affirms that he has learned the lessons sent down by the Lord and made the right conclusions. In a prayer text with a gratitude focus, attention is always focused on the fact that a person thanks God for the gift of life and the world around him that God created.
Thankful prayer texts are offered not only for the generosity received in life, health and well-being. You should definitely give thanks for God’s wrath and possible punishment for your sins. It should be understood that the sorrows of life sent by God are a test for a person, but it always opens the way to the salvation of the soul.
Which saints are praised?
Prayers of thanksgiving are read to various saints. In this case, you need to listen to your intuition to choose the right prayer. Prayers to the Guardian Angel are especially popular.
One such prayer goes like this:
“I, the Servant of God (my own name), turn with gratitude to my protector, appointed by God, my Guardian Angel. I kneel and thank the heavenly angel for his support in the most difficult life situations. I thank him for constantly interceding for the forgiveness of my sins, committed through thoughtlessness. I offer words of gratitude for the fact that he is always present with me in both troubles and joys. Amen".
Very often prayers of thanks are read to the Most Holy Theotokos and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. It should be understood that before making a request or prayer to any of the Saints, it is imperative to offer a prayer of gratitude.
