This is what life was like for Michael during his earthly life. He lived alone in a cell. He had no bed, no headboard, no bedding, no blanket, but slept on the sand. The cell was drowned with horse manure. He lived in the monastery for forty-four years, and ate only bread and water every day.

In December, on Savvin Day, Mikhail fell ill, but continued to go to church. And he stood on the right side of the church, in the courtyard, opposite the grave of Theodosius.
