Today on the Internet you can find a huge variety of prayers for trading. There are also many different conspiracies and ancient rituals on this topic. But how can you ask for help in trading and be heard? How to reliably achieve success and attract good luck? Probably, there is simply no universal and 100% effective recipe. We are all different. But, nevertheless, you can choose the most proven and powerful methods for everyone.

Have you ever observed a situation where a confident and successful entrepreneur suddenly goes bankrupt due to a freak accident? Do you think this is bad luck or a curse? Probably no one knows the answer. But both can be prevented by reading the strongest prayer to John of Sochava.

Second prayer to the Great Martyr John of Sochava for trade

There is nothing wrong with trying to get a good deal in the trading industry. Every person depends on money in one way or another, so his desire to earn as much as possible is not sinful. Orthodox trade workers know this very well, therefore, without a shadow of a doubt, they regularly turn to John of Sochavsky for support, who is capable of granting great prosperity to the true righteous.

A one-time profit and more is guaranteed to everyone whose thoughts are pure, whose faith is unshakable, and whose prayer is fervent. Don’t know what prayer words to turn to John the New? In addition to the option discussed above, you can use an alternative.

The prayer to John of Sochavsky for successful trading is read according to standard rules. You can pronounce it not only in the temple, but also at home. However, in both cases it is recommended to have in front of you the image of the Intercessor and lit church candles.

The strongest prayer for trade to John of Sochavsky

For many people, trading is a professional activity. But everyone else is involved in it in one way or another. Almost every believer has had to sell something at least once in their life. Everyone knows how strong the desire is to get good money in return for a product. This desire cannot be called sinful, so believers turn to St. John the New for help.

To offer personal petitions, many prayers were compiled, including a prayer for the sale of an apartment - the strongest text compiled by the Holy Fathers for trade. The latter is very popular, since regular reading of it allows you to make a profit as quickly as possible.

RECOMMENDED: Strong prayer for your daughter.

The main thing is to sincerely believe that John the New hears your appeal and that an answer will be sent to it. The latter is guaranteed to come to the righteous who serve the Lord not only in word, but also in deed. What is important here, as in any other prayer, is purity of mind and heart.

Questions for the priest

How to increase the effectiveness of prayer addressed to John of Sochavsky?
As with other prayers, this one should be read slowly, that is, thoughtfully, trying to understand its meaning. The easiest way to do this is in solitude, preferably in a temple, in front of the holy image of the intercessor. It is also recommended for those who do not have the opportunity to go to church, who are forced to ask for help from John of the New House, privately, to position themselves before the face. An answer from above to a personal petition comes if a Christian has no evil intentions, if he believes in God and His help, if he is diligent in his prayer.

Which icon is better to use for prayer to John of Sochava?

The Church has not established such clear recommendations. Any image of St. John the New is useful for prayer; the size and technique of execution do not matter.

Is it possible to pray to John of Sochava for great profits?

Yes, in most cases this is what the prayer addressed to the famous Intercessor is aimed at. As you know, asking saints for money is not prohibited; the main thing is that material wealth does not come first for a Christian, and that he manages it wisely.

How often should you say the prayer to John the New?

It is necessary to ask for the intercession of the famous saint who helps all merchants as often as possible. Ideally, a believer should resort to prayer as soon as he has free time. He continues to appeal to John of Sochavsky until he gives him what he wants. How quickly this will happen depends directly on the Christian, his zeal, steadfastness of faith, and also his attitude towards money.

RECOMMENDED: Prayers for money and good luck in all matters.

Canon

Song 1

Voice 4 Irmos: I will open my mouth and be filled with spirit, and I will vomit the word to the Queen Mother, and I will appear, brightly triumphant, and I will sing, rejoicing, those miracles.

New martyr, blessed John, you have finally appeared to the universe, so grant me your word with your grace, sing of your deeds according to your heritage.

With your mental eyes standing before the judgment, you saw the martyrs of the honorable class, joyfully calling upon you, John, and adorning crowns with similar ones.

With an army admirable for your resistance, the victorious attack on the tormentor of nature: having been completely disgraced, no one begins to take tormenting insolence.

Dressed in the armor of the confession of faith and placing a helmet on the most luminous grace, with your tongue, John, divine and honest, like a sword you cut off the insane eparch.

Theotokos: The highest mountain, even as Daniel saw it, the stone from the mountain cut off a man’s hand except, a prototype of you, O Mother of God: without a husband you gave birth to us in the flesh, Emmanuel.

Song 3 Irmos: Thy hymns, O Mother of God, living and unenvious source, spiritually establish the face of Thy body, granting crowns of glory in Thy Divine glory.

Through torment, like honest gold, you were tempted, you were more glorious than the sufferer, and you were brought to the King of forces, the full fruitfulness of words is true, instead of the fire of the altar, the sword is exhausted.

The Jews have not had enough of the First Lady and Lord of law-breaking and prophet-killing, but I will also slaughter that martyr, dragged mercilessly by the servants of wickedness.

The eparch stretched out his nets with affectionate words to catch the wise sufferer, but he cried out to him: stop talking so much, for I will not worship the creature more than the Creator.

The fruitful olive tree in the Church of the Living God of your cancer relics has now appeared, from which we rob various ailments, healings, which have been enriched by you and colored by your miracles.

Theotokos: Divine Ezekiel’s speech: and the door will be shut. And this was fulfilled on You, Lady: below, indescribably in You, the Father’s Word and the Flesh-Bearer appeared to the world from You, Virgin, preserving You in both.

Sedalen, voice 8 Having been a steward of Wisdom, a treasure of virtues, from there you drew Divine understanding. Having also called upon time, you zealously devoted yourself to heroic deeds, accepting the wounds of martyrdom, the crushing of flesh and the exhaustion of blood, and now you live in the indescribable light of the martyrs. For this reason we cry out to you: pray to Christ the God of sins to grant forgiveness of sins to those who worship by faith with your holy relics.

Glory, even now, to the Mother of God: I think about judgment and am afraid, I tremble at terrible trials and am horrified by the torment and fire of illness, darkness and tartar. Alas, what will I do? How much pain will I endure when the books open up and my deeds are exposed? For this reason, I fall down before You, Most Pure Mother of God: appear to me then, taking away these needs, for I am your refuge, Lady.

Song 4 Irmos: Seated in glory on the Throne of the Divine in a light cloud, the Divine Jesus came with an imperishable hand and called to salvation: glory, O Christ, to Thy power.

The flattering tongue of the tormentor, we are moved by the enemy’s machinations, hastening to betray the generous, but having exposed ourselves as idle, I call to the sufferer in joy: Glory to Thy power, Lord.

Why do we smolder with so many words and promises, as if you were offering madness? John cried out to the tormentor. All this bile makes me bitter, I cry sweetly: glory to Thy power, O Lord.

When the many wounds on my flesh flourish, then I hope to be rewarded with the brightest crown, the sufferer said to the Persian, do not touch the rest, O wicked one, for I cry: glory to Thy power, O Lord.

I will not listen to you, drawing you to destruction, the fire minister John said, but I will die even more zealously for the sake of the One who died for me, and let the martyrs cry out brightly: Glory to Your power, Lord.

Theotokos: You depicted in Black the passage of ancient Israel, Your unmarried Nativity, O All-Tsarina: just as he then passed through without water, so Christ also came forth without a seed from Your most pure blood, O Virgin.

Song 5 Irmos: Everyone was terrified of Your Divine glory: You, the Unartificed Virgin, had God in your womb above all and gave birth to the Lifeless Son, giving peace to all who sing Your praises.

The exhausted, beating servant of the passion-bearing flesh, labored and tormented, seeking languor, but he valiantly endured, showing off his wounds, even for his love he lifted up his Lord.

How terrible and glorious is your resistance in Christ, for the tribes, who found themselves in the struggle, admired it and praised their patience, while the Persians were put to shame with the Jews, fooled by the cold.

Around the stand of the multitude, the sight of what is happening, the glorious one, and the tormentor who presides, you were hoping to acquire, but you sinned with insane care, despising the fearless in vain and beating the adamant in vain.

Cursing the wicked eparch at the insane command, Divine John denounces the charm of Persian pride: saying, I do not worship the sun, a creature that exists, worked by man, a greater creation than the hands of God.

Theotokos: Woe is co-essential with the Father and God, God the Word and with us God and Man, Mother of God, by You descended to our humility, freeing us from the oath of our ancestors: For you have seen Patriarch Jacob the ladder of Heaven.

Song 6 Irmos: This divine and all-honorable celebration, O God-Wisdom, Mother of God, come, let us clasp our hands, glorifying the God who was born from Her.

The commanding ferocity did not shake the pillar of piety, below the beating with clubs, but neither wounds nor the most necessary death.

The purity of your mind is likened to the eye of the cherub: how long have you courageously endured torment and the grief you have faced the Lady who sent you a victorious crown.

Then the joy of martyrdom leaped into the light, seeing your boldness, and, joining together with the Angels, I invisibly strengthened you in asceticism.

The iron snake John, the graceful sufferer, the gold of the mountain is imputed to me and even from the Jews throwing stones - degrees to the Heavenly procession.

Theotokos: The image of the fleece of Gideon is received and watered, Heralding Your miracle: coming down, like rain on the fleece, the Mother of God, One of the Trinity, is incarnated into Your womb.

Kontakion, tone 4 You strove to buy the floating depths of the sea from the east to the north, but I called you to God, like Matthew, leaving the torment, and you followed him with the blood of torment, redeeming the impassable with time, and you received an invincible crown.

Ikos the All-Wise Creator and Lord and Lord of the mental grapes, like His most holy lips, says in the parable of the grapes: for in one ten hour they did the same price as they did from the first. Now the deeds are covered in parables, showing John the light of the martyr, for the very last of the thousands, like the first sufferer, he glorified with incorruption and free healing: having redeemed the impenetrable with time, and wears an invincible crown.

Song 7 Irmos: Thou hast not served the creation of God’s wisdom more than the Creator, but the fiery rebuke is manfully trampled, rejoicing, singing: O Lord and God of the fathers, blessed art thou.

Bringing to you the suffering, most wonderful John, the infant of the shooting courageously imputed to you, joyfully singing: revered Lord and God of the fathers, blessed are you.

Often stretching out his hand to the tormentor, John said: Why did you work in vain, without cold, for you create for me a colorful garment, and death is the crown of immortality?

I am a true martyr of the true Christ our God, a sufferer who cries out for the fragrant flowers and the blood streams of the bath of Baptism.

Night from me the life of the hedgehog in the flesh is judged, John of your wisdom, soon for the rest of the flesh loosen the soul, so that I may inherit life with Christ.

Theotokos: The rhetorical tongue is silent and motionless, even as we see in You, O One who rejoices in God: for we cannot comprehend the incomprehensible conception, the ineffable birth.

Song 8 Irmos: The pious youths in the cave saved the Nativity of the Theotokos, then what was formed, now in action, raises up the entire universe to sing to You: Sing to the Lord, O deeds, and exalt Him to all ages.

The kings have blessed you, the saints have blessed you, they have heard your courageous patience and gained you as an intercessor to Christ, and now come, they worship your honest power.

Sometimes the pagans staggered with people who were criminals, studying in vain against Christ and the Lord, and now the Persians gathered together, dragging John, and slaying the Jews.

I was by you, and was restrained, and the disembodied serpent was completely cast down in the flesh by your patience. And that strength and fierce torment faded away, I embraced Christ in the flesh.

Boasting of the stripes of Christ, you have entered into the eternal abode, in scarlet robes, a martyr, stained with your blood, and you stand brightly before the King of hosts, rejoicing with the martyrs.

Theotokos: Coal of old was sent to Isaiah, we carry it with tongs from Seraphim, touching him and leaving sins. Thou art the mite, O Virgin, bearing the Divine Coal for the remission of sins to mankind.

Song 9 Irmos: Let every earth-born leap, we are enlightened by the Spirit, let the nature of disembodied minds triumph, honoring the sacred triumph of the Mother of God, and let it cry out: Rejoice, All-Blessed Mother of God, Pure Ever-Virgin.

You were a true warrior of Christ's preaching, John, and a consumer of godlessness. In the same way, now with your prayers, consume the barbarian uprising, putting this under the feet of our army, more gloriously, overthrowing it.

Even though your sacred flesh had been scattered, wise, even if blood had been poured out, yet the victorious one has come upon you. Thus, we who rise up by your power are put to shame and our army will be revealed as victorious.

Crush the bow of the wicked, invincible in war, unrighteously driven towards your property, which you have chosen for yourself, having loved, and establish our fatherland, so that we too may quietly and peacefully live.

Even as we desire your radiant and honest memory, with greetings and kisses, rejoicing in spirit and playing, we pray, blessed: keep this place and people, where you will be famous, harmlessly, with our fatherland.

Theotokos: His prophets proclaimed all the diversity, embodied for our sake, by You, the Mother of God, God is perfect for us, delivering people from the oath of our ancestors, but through Your prayers let us be delivered from eternal Gehenna.

Standing before the uneven Light, blessed, with the faces of the martyrs, praising you in your memory from temptation, save with your prayers.

The saint, firm in his faith, did not suffer during times of mass persecution, such as the persecution of Christians by the Roman emperors. But he turned out to be like the ancient martyrs in everything, which many did not expect from a completely earthly person who was engaged in the most ordinary craft of a merchant.

Life path and feat of the saint

Trebizond, an ancient Greek colony on the eastern shore of the Black Sea, is considered to be the birthplace of the saint. Now Trabzon - as it is now called - is located in Turkey. The 14th century, in which John’s life’s feat occurred, became the last century of the existence of the Greek “Empire of Trebizond,” which in 1461 would be destroyed by the Turkish conquerors.

Trader from Trebizond

Little is known about the life of the martyr, born in 1300, almost only from the materials of his interrogations, when he was required to tell about himself. It is known that he was born into a merchant family and, apparently, followed in his father’s footsteps, also engaging in trade. Apparently, the young entrepreneur’s business was progressing quite successfully, because he even sent the goods he sold to other cities. It was during one such journey, when the merchant happened to accompany his cargo, that events took place thanks to which we now know him as a saint.

Questions of faith or envy?

There are two different versions of the circumstances under which the humble merchant was handed over to torture.

According to the first, while sailing on trade business, he got into a conversation with the captain of the ship, a zealous Catholic. The dispute about faith turned into a skirmish when the Catholic had nothing to argue with the believing Greek. Then, out of anger, he decided to take revenge by reporting his passenger to the authorities. It was possible to carry out our plans upon arrival at the port of Belgorod Dnestrovsky.

The second version of the reason why a denunciation was made against the saint is somewhat more prosaic: the captain of the ship, a Venetian merchant, simply saw him as a competitor.

Paganism or Islam?

The essence of the slander with which John’s opponent turned to the authorities is also not very clear. According to the most common version of his life, the Venetian told the authorities of Belgorod, the “fire-worshipping pagans,” that a certain “nobleman from Trebizond” (it is unlikely that John’s high status was true) wanted to convert to their faith.

Modern church historians believe that by the 14th century, when Belgorod had long been part of the Mongolian state of the Golden Horde (which then also captured the Russian lands), its rulers were already Muslims, and not pagans, as before. This, apparently, explains the intensity of passions at the trial, because the pagan Mongols were quite tolerant in matters of faith, while Muslims were actively engaged in proselytism, or attracting believers from other religions.

Martyrdom

Based on the captain’s denunciation, John was introduced to the city governors. Having learned why he was brought, the merchant from Trebizond firmly refused to change his faith, professing himself an Orthodox Christian. Apparently, thinking that the stranger decided to laugh at the authorities, he was tortured:

  • for two days in a row they beat him with sticks until his body was completely torn to pieces, so that the people present almost rebelled, outraged by the torture of an unarmed man;
  • then they were dragged around the city tied to the tail of a horse; at the same time, many Gentiles mocked and beat the Christian, until a certain Jew, inflamed with anger, cut off his head.

First miracles

The body of the martyr lay there for a day without burial. Frightened local Christians did not dare to take it. But that same night, many saw three bright men with candles near the body of the saint. One of the Jews, thinking that they were Christians, tried to shoot an arrow, but by the power of God he was motionless until the morning. Only after such an obvious miracle did St. John was allowed to be buried.

Everything that happened apparently shocked the culprit, the Catholic informer. He planned to secretly take the relics of the martyr in order to take them to his homeland. But the miraculous appearance of the saint to the local priest allowed the Orthodox to stop this intention in time.

Subsequently, the relics of the saint were nevertheless taken from Belgrade by the Orthodox of the capital of Moldavia, the city of Sochava, after which the saint has since been called.

The transfer of the honorable remains of the holy Great Martyr John to the city of Sochava took place.

Why do they pray to the saint for help in trading when they need to sell or buy something?

The example of a saint has long inspired Christians living in the midst of the world, showing how, being a completely earthly person, one can become a saint. At the same time, many saw John as a close, all-understanding saint of God. Having been a merchant in earthly life, he soon began to be considered the patron saint of merchants, who more than once turned to him, asking him to pray for a safe journey and good luck in trading matters. And the saint did not reject the prayers addressed to him.

What else do the saints pray for? John Orthodox Christians

The saint is also often prayed to:

  • about the success of any entrepreneurial activity, in work, even if it is not related to trade;
  • about healing various ailments; it is known about many healings that took place from his relics, icons, and simply through prayerful appeal to the saint of God.

How to pray to St. John

You can contact the saint:

  • words of canonically approved prayers or your own;
  • reading a canon or akathist to the saint of God in front of his icon at home;
  • ordering a prayer service or akathist in the temple.

In addition, many strive to personally visit places associated with the life and death of the saint. This:

  • monastery of the saint in Suceava (Romania);
  • The city of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky, where the martyr accomplished his feat; Now here you can venerate a particle of St. the relics of the saint of God, and also visit the spring that gushed at the place where he came ashore; according to other sources, the source existed here before, but the martyr, having been here more than once on trade matters, often collected water here.

The work of pilgrimage is not only useful as spiritual communion with St. John, but also attracts to the worker the special mercy of the saint and the Lord Himself.
