Paraskeva, Matrona and more: what images of saints patronize the family

Patron saints of family life

Spouses who have dedicated their lives to God and raised their children in fidelity to Him can be approached with a request to create a strong family. In addition, they will teach you a lot if you pray to them while building a marital relationship.

The following family patrons should be named:

  1. Because Saints Joachim and Anna could not have children, everyone despised them. At that time, infertility was considered a shame. But the couple did not murmur against God, but only prayed fervently, submitting to his will. Joachim leaves the human world and settles alone in a deserted place after the priest did not accept his gifts to God on the day of the divine holiday. Anna, having learned about her husband’s shame, began to pray earnestly that God would give her a child. Joachim made the same request to him. The prayer was answered. God gave them a daughter, Mary, the future mother of the Savior.

  2. The couple prophet Zechariah and Elizabeth suffered from infertility. The saint did not believe in the prophecy that appeared to him during the service in the temple to an angel about the birth of a baby. King Herod was afraid that the future king of the Jews had been born, and ordered the destruction of all infants under two years of age. Righteous Elizabeth earnestly asked God for salvation. The mountain parted and hid the mother and baby from pursuit.
  3. Adrian and Natalia are holy martyrs. Both secretly prayed to God, renouncing paganism. Their emperor was a persecutor of Christians. He brutally executed his husband, who did not reject the Christian faith. Natalia encouraged Adrian in every possible way, visiting him in prison. The holy martyr soon fell asleep after her husband.
  4. Emilia of Caesarea was a deeply religious person and prepared herself for celibacy. Distinguished by her rare beauty, she was afraid that after her father’s death she might be forced into marriage. Then Emilia decides to become the wife of the pious lawyer Vasily. They spent most of their property on charity, helping the poor and welcoming strangers. God gave them ten children.

  5. Emperor Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra, as well as their children who lived in accordance with Christian traditions, are called royal passion-bearers. With meekness and humility they accepted martyrdom during the persecution for Christ in the last century.

  6. Peter and Fevronia of Murom are an example of Christian love. They became famous for their mercy and piety. A simple peasant girl cured the prince of leprosy. He fell in love with her as soon as he saw her. Fevronia conquered him with her kindness and wisdom. Expelled from their city because their marriage was unequal, they left their home together, never parting for a moment. They were buried in the same coffin.

These are not all saints who patronize family life, who are examples of marital love and fidelity.

Holy families and saints to whom we pray so that families can be built

Nine years ago, one very correct holiday appeared in Russia, aimed at popularizing chastity, family values, marital fidelity, childbearing and conciliarity in society. It was called Family Day of Love and Fidelity and was timed to coincide with the day of remembrance of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom - the revered patrons of marriage.

The day of remembrance of these saints falls on July 8 (June 25, old style). Murom miracle workers Peter and Fevronia have long been revered as patrons of family well-being, although their story is atypical for the ideal of a Christian family.

Christian marriage has two deep meanings. The first of them is the art, or if you prefer science, of seeing the Image of God in your life partner every day, year after year. In the ability to sacrifice part of one’s own interests for the sake of him and smooth out negative character traits for the sake of a loved one, gradually getting rid of the latter. In the desire to comprehend his inner world. That is, in cultivating a personality within oneself.

The second meaning is to fulfill God’s commandment “be fruitful and multiply.” In raising offspring, raising them in the Christian spirit and passing on to them your invaluable life experience, the experience of love for each other and for the Lord. Peter and Fevronia of Murom did not realize the second purpose of marriage at all, but they fulfilled the first very well, for which they are revered as saints.

This article will be dedicated to them and other holy families from whom you can learn to build your family life in a Christian way, as well as those saints to whom they pray for a successful marriage.

Holy spouses Peter and Fevronia of Murom

The blessed Prince Peter was the second son of Murom Prince Yuri Vladimirovich. He ascended the Murom throne in 1203. A few years earlier, Saint Peter fell ill with leprosy, from which no one could cure him. In a dream vision, it was revealed to the prince that he could be healed by the beekeeper’s daughter, the pious maiden Fevronia, a peasant woman from the village of Laskovoy in the Ryazan land. Saint Peter sent his people to that village.

When the prince saw Saint Fevronia, he fell in love with her so much for her piety, wisdom and kindness that he vowed to marry her after healing. Saint Febronia healed the prince and married him. The holy spouses carried love for each other through all trials.

The proud boyars did not want to have a princess of ordinary rank and demanded that the prince expel her. Then Peter renounced princely power and the couple went into exile together. They sailed on a boat along the Oka River from their hometown. Saint Febronia supported and consoled Saint Peter. But soon unrest began in Murom, and the boyars called the prince back, resigning themselves to the fact that Fevronia would remain their princess.

After their return, the prince and princess ruled happily ever after, despite the fact that they had no children, and became famous for their piety and mercy.

In their old age, the saints took monastic vows in different monasteries with the names David and Euphrosyne. Peter and Fevronia each died in their cell on the same day and hour, June 25, 1228. Contrary to the will of the deceased, their bodies were laid in different monasteries, but a miracle happened: the very next day the bodies of the saints were together. They didn’t dare separate them anymore. Later, pilgrims flocked to the relics of the saints, wanting to ask for blessings for marriage.

Family of the Holy Fathers Joachim and Anna

Saints Joachim and Anna are the most important patrons of marriage, because with their piety and hope in God they exceeded all measure and pleased Him so much that they were given the honor of becoming the parents of the greatest of people - the Most Holy Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary.

Joachim and Anna lived a righteous life, did good deeds, but people despised them for their childlessness, which among the Israelis was considered a punishment for sins, because from every family the Messiah, long awaited by the Jewish people, could come and everyone wanted him to be born in their family .

The holy spouses did not lose hope, they went to church every year to pray to God for the gift of a child, and among themselves they had deep understanding, respect and agreement. In old age, the Lord gave Joachim and Anna a child - the Archangel Gabriel announced to Anna that she would give birth to a girl.

Tradition says that the Lord thereby strengthened the faith of other people, who could see that God did not abandon the righteous even when everyone decided that there was no hope left. The daughter of the pious couple was named Mary, as the Angel commanded, and became the most significant woman in human history.

Now the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary serves as a great consolation for childless spouses.

Family of Saints Zechariah and Elizabeth

Parents of the holy prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John. Righteous spouses suffered from infertility for a long time, which, as noted above, was considered in Old Testament times to be a great punishment from God.

Elizabeth was a relative of the Virgin Mary, and her husband Zechariah served as a priest. One day, while serving in the temple, Zechariah saw an angel who predicted the birth of a prophetic son.

Remembering the family grief, Zechariah doubted the angelic prediction about the birth of a son to his elderly wife and was punished with muteness for his lack of faith. When righteous Elizabeth had a son, she announced that she would name the baby John, they asked righteous Zechariah, and he also wrote the name John on the tablet. After this, the gift of speech returned to him and he began to praise God.

Family of the Holy Forefathers Abraham and Sarah

Their story is similar to the previous two. For a long time, Sarah did not have children, until the Lord, who appeared to Abraham in the form of three strangers, predicted that Isaac would soon be born to her.

At the same time, Abraham and Sarah experienced many difficulties and trials together during their travels to foreign countries. Throughout their time together, Sarah encouraged and supported her husband Abraham, and Abraham protected his wife and often listened to her advice.

When the forefathers of the Israeli people had a son, they also tried to raise him in the spirit of love for God and pass on to him the art of family life through their example. They succeeded and Isaac also built a happy marriage with his wife Rebekah, whom he loved dearly.

Family of Saints Cyril and Mary of Radonezh

Boyar Kirill served first the Rostov prince Konstantin II Borisovich, and then Konstantin III Vasilyevich, whom he accompanied more than once to the Golden Horde. Despite the boyars' wealth, the saint and his wife lived quite simply and often worked in the fields with the peasants.

Reverends Cyril and Maria loved divine services very much and thanked God for everything, so that, like Saints Joachim and Anna, they promised to dedicate their next child to God. The Lord gave them a son, who was named Bartholomew - the future great ascetic, who became known under the monastic name of St. Sergius of Radonezh. In addition to the future saint, the couple had two more sons, who were also raised by them in the Christian faith and piety.

The righteousness of Cyril and Mary was known not only to God. Being strict guardians of all church statutes, they helped the poor and strangers and taught children the same.

In their old age, according to a widespread custom in Rus', Cyril and Maria accepted monasticism in the Khotkovo Monastery and there they spent the rest of their days in the feat of repentance, preparing for eternal life.

Holy spouses Adrian and Natalia

Martyrs Adrian and Natalia married young. They lived in Nicomedia of Bithynia under the emperor Maximian (305-311), who began another persecution of Christians.

The pagan Hadrian was an official and headed the court chamber of the emperor. His wife Natalia secretly professed Christianity. Admiring the courage of Christians suffering for their faith, Adrian himself decided to become a Christian, announced this and was captured by the executioners. His wife, Saint Natalia, having learned that her husband was suffering for Christ, hurried to prison and began to encourage her husband.

Saint Adrian, along with other martyrs, was subjected to cruel torture and killed. Saint Natalia fled to Byzantium to avoid another forced marriage and soon died, reunited with her husband.

Family of Saint Basil the Great

The saint's mother, Emilia, was the daughter of a martyr, dearly loved her husband and raised her ten children in piety. The saint's father, Basil, was a famous Christian lawyer, orator and lawyer. His parents also suffered martyrdom during the Diocletian persecution.

The couple regularly visited the temple of God and tried to help each other in everything, for which the Lord rewarded them with abundant offspring. The husband and wife treated their children with attention and tried to develop in them the best inclinations of character.

Five of the ten children of Basil and Emilia also became saints and are deeply revered by the Church - these are Saint Basil himself, his brother Gregory of Nyssa, sister Macrina, brother Peter of Sebaste and sister Theozva.

The family of the royal passion-bearers Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna

The family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II can also serve as the best example of a Christian marriage. Both the Emperor and Empress himself and their children always loved each other dearly and tried to make each other’s common labors easier.

Much about their amazing family idyll can be learned from the diaries of the royal couple and their children, as well as from their personal correspondence and surviving memoirs of their immediate circle.

The king’s daughters loved each other so much, they wanted to always be together so much that they even came up with a common abbreviation for their company: “O. They were unanimous all their lives and remained united even after death, sharing the sad fate of their father-sovereign and mother.

The emperor's children showed sincere piety towards shrines and care for the poor and sick, for example, they served as sisters of mercy in the First World War. Tsarevich Alexei also took part in works of mercy, despite the severe genetic disease from which he suffered, and was also very modest in everyday life.

The king and queen themselves constantly sent each other tender letters and tried to spend as much time as possible together, especially in church or performing prayer at home. The sovereign also made the most difficult decisions in life in consultation with his wife.

Saint John of Kronstadt and his wife Elizabeth

John of Kronstadt was the rector of St. Andrew's Cathedral in Kronstadt. He directed his sermon about the Lord Jesus Christ to people with a difficult fate, among whom there were many desperate people, subject to the passions of drunkenness, violence, and cruelty. With the help of God and great labor, he achieved that many brought sincere repentance to God and corrected their lives.

In his youth, preparing to take holy orders, Saint John married Elizaveta Konstantinovna Nesvitskaya, daughter of the archpriest of St. Andrew's Cathedral in Kronstadt. Having entered into marriage, they jointly decided to take a vow of virginity and devote themselves to prayer and service to their neighbors.

At the same time, the couple raised the two daughters of Elizaveta Konstantinovna’s sister, Anna, Elizaveta and Rufina, as their own children. The latter subsequently married midshipman Nikolai Nikolaevich Shemyakin, receiving a good dowry from St. John.

Family of Saints Xenophon and Mary

The Monk Xenophon and Mary and their sons Arkady and John, noble citizens of Constantinople, lived in the 5th century. Despite their wealth and nobility, they were distinguished by their spiritual simplicity and kind hearts. Wanting to give to my sons. John and Arcadius, more complete education, they sent them to the Phoenician city of Beirut.

The brothers survived a shipwreck and, thinking that each of them was dead, accepted monasticism. The parents did not receive news about their children for a long time, but the Monk Xenophon, already an old man, maintained firm trust in the Lord, consoled his wife Mary, advised not to grieve and to believe that the children would be preserved by the Lord.

A few years later, the couple made a pilgrimage to the Holy Places and met their sons in Jerusalem, who labored in different monasteries. Delighted, they thanked the Lord and also accepted monasticism. Later, both parents and children were granted the gift of miracles. They also pray for help in family matters.

Apostle Simon the Canaanite

Orthodox tradition says that it was with this apostle that the Lord himself blessed the marriage. We are talking about the Savior’s first miracle in Cana of Galilee, where he turned water into wine. The groom at this wedding was the Apostle Simon the Canaanite, to whom other grooms now pray to send good brides.

After this, the Apostle Simon believed in Christ so much that he became his faithful disciple. He lived in fasting and prayer, protected his family, and glorified Jesus Christ with many miraculous signs. He died a martyr's death in the Caucasus.

Martyrs Gury, Samon and Aviv

The preachers of the Word of God Gury and Samon died a terrible martyr's death during the persecution of Christians in the third century AD.

Many years later, the pagan emperor Licinius (311-324) ordered the capture of a deacon of the Edessa Church named Aviv, but he himself came to the executioners, not wanting other Christians to suffer while searching for him. He was sentenced to be burned. The martyr himself went into the fire and with prayer gave up his spirit to the Lord. He was buried next to Saints Gurias and Samon.

After death, the saints began to perform numerous miracles. Once they helped the pious girl Euphemia from Edessa, freeing her from the bullying of her oathbreaker husband. He married her, already having a wife in his country and hiding this from Euphemia’s relatives and the priest. Later, he took his wife to his homeland, where he made his first wife a slave.

Then she began to pray to Gurias, Samon and Aviv and was miraculously transported home. Since then, married women have prayed to these saints in difficult circumstances, praying “if the husband innocently hates his wife.”

Blessed Ksenia of Petersburg

Holy Blessed Xenia was born in the first half of the 18th century. In her youth, she married the court singer Colonel Andrei Fedorovich Petrov, who soon died suddenly.

After the death of her husband, Ksenia sold the house and distributed all her property to the poor and accepted the feat of foolishness for the sake of Christ, often appearing before people in her husband’s uniform and calling himself Andrei Fedorovich. The young woman, who prayed incessantly and spoke allegorically, was initially considered crazy, but it was soon noticed that her prayer helped in difficult circumstances, and prophecies came true.

Blessed Xenia predicted the death of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna and the young Emperor John Antonovich, and the marriage of one poor girl. After her death, many signs and wonders were performed at her tomb.

Thus, through the prayers of Blessed Xenia, the Lord saved one girl from a terrible marriage with an escaped convict who pretended to be the colonel he had killed, so brides pray to her for the sending of pious suitors.

Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker

Saint Nicholas is one of the most revered saints in Rus'. He was born in 258 in Asia Minor. Later, the pious Christian Nicholas became the bishop of the port city of Myra in Lycia, preached a lot, did charity work and even, as Tradition says, took part in the First Ecumenical Council.

In the hometown of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker lived a bankrupt merchant who had three beautiful daughters. He fell into such poverty that he had no money for a dowry and, accordingly, did not hope to provide his daughters with a decent life.

To save beauties from the expected prostitution for a piece of bread, the saint secretly threw bags of gold out the window of the unfortunate for three nights. With the miraculously received money, the father successfully married off his daughters. Thus, Saint Nicholas also became the patron of marital happiness.

Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva

The Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva was born in the 3rd century in the Roman Empire. Her family especially honored Friday - the day of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ on the cross, so the name Paraskeva was chosen for their daughter, which translated means “Friday”.

Paraskeva in her youth took a vow of virginity and devoted a lot of energy to spreading the faith of Christ among the pagans. She refused to sacrifice to idols, and for this she was tortured and executed.

In Rus', since ancient times, Saint Paraskeva has been considered a healer of mental and physical ailments and the guardian of family well-being and happiness. Girls of marriageable age prayed to her to marry for love, and many received help and caring husbands.

Holy Great Martyr Catherine

The Holy Great Martyr Catherine was the daughter of the ruler of Alexandria of Egypt. She received an excellent education and was distinguished by rare intelligence and beauty.

Catherine wanted her fiancé to surpass her in everything. Saint Catherine's mother was a secret Christian. She took the girl for advice to her confessor, who said that she would find such only in the face of Christ.

After baptism, she began to pray to the Lord and in a miraculous vision received an engagement ring from him. Soon she was able to testify to her fidelity to the heavenly bridegroom and faith in Him through suffering and death. This happened during the persecution of Emperor Maximin, who arrived in Alexandria for pagan celebrations.

The relics of Saint Catherine were transferred by Angels to Mount Sinai. In the 6th century, by revelation, the venerable head and left hand of the holy martyr were found and transferred with honor to the newly created temple of the Sinai Monastery, built by the holy Emperor Justinian.

The Holy Virgin Catherine strove to meet the most beautiful groom and met one in the person of the Savior, so many girls also pray to her for marriage.

Saint Venerable Athanasia of Aegina

This holy woman did not even want a first marriage, wanting to devote her life only to serving God, but her parents insisted on marriage. After the death of her first husband in the war, she had to remarry.

The couple led a happy, God-pleasing life, prayed and helped each other in everything. And only when her second husband took monastic vows, Athanasia herself retired to the monastery. Therefore, Orthodox Christians pray to the Reverend Abbess Athanasius of Aegina for the well-being of her second marriage.

Conclusion

This article mentions those saints who managed to create friendly and God-loving families that can serve as an example for each of us to build Christian families. Also presented are those ascetics whose lives give us an example of caring for families and to whom, for this reason, we pray as the patrons of Christian marriage. However, remember that absolutely any saint to whom you turn with prayer and faith can become the patron saint of marriage! The main thing is not what people’s rumors consider the saint to be the patron of, but how deeply you trust his gracious help.

Days of Remembrance of the Righteous

The holy righteous people are revered on Russian soil, they are prayed to, they are asked for mercy and leniency.

On the Day of the Holy Mother of God, childless spouses seek consolation.

On the Day of Saints Zechariah and Elizabeth, parents pray for children and peace in the family, and childless people ask the Lord for a cure for infertility.

Emilia of Caesarea is revered as the mother who raised five saints.

On the day of the murder of the royal family, the passion-bearers Emperor Nicholas, Empress Alexandra and their children are remembered.

Peter and Fevronia are examples of Christian marriage. They send heavenly blessings to those getting married.

Let's summarize

  • Family people most often pray to saints who are famous for their ideal married life - say, Peter and Fevronia.
  • The Orthodox Church also considers the martyrs Guria, Simon, Aviv, Paraskeva, blessed Xenia or Matrona, Saint Nicholas, and Venerable Athanasius to be patrons of marriage.
  • Both childless people and mothers pray to the Mother of God. The Feodorovskaya icon is considered the most powerful, miraculous icon - it is even given as a gift for weddings.

Well, of course, a completely happy family life for an Orthodox couple cannot be imagined without the birth of children. It’s good if the Lord gives you a baby in the first year after the wedding. And if not? The priests recommend praying for a child to special icons of the Mother of God. You can see them and find out their names in this video:

Ksenia Petersburgskaya

On February 6, the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the Day of St. Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg, the heavenly patroness of the northern capital.

Holy Blessed Xenia was born in the first half of the 18th century. After her husband's death, she distributed all her property to the poor and was left without a home. Matrona of Moscow

Blessed Matrona was an ascetic of piety throughout the 20th century. Before her birth, Matrona’s mother dreamed of a white bird whose eye sockets were closed with tightly closed eyelids. After some time, her daughter Matrona was born. The girl was not just blind: she had no eyes at all on her face.

The Lord gave Matrona spiritual vision. Since childhood, she could predict and heal the sick. Throughout her life, many people came to Matrona, whom she healed, instructed and encouraged with kind words.

More than thirty years after the death of mother, her grave at the Danilovsky cemetery became one of the holy places of Orthodox Moscow. Today, the relics of Blessed Matronushka are located in the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos of the Intercession Women's Monastery, on Taganskaya Street in Moscow.

Blessed Matrona protects drivers on the road, helps the childless, rescues them from the most disastrous circumstances and helps them find family peace. Martyrs Adrian and Natalia

According to the Orthodox calendar, September 8 commemorates the martyrs Adrian and Natalia. They lived in Nicomedia of Bithynia under Emperor Maximian (305-311)

.

Adrian was the head of the emperor's court and was himself a pagan, and his wife Natalia was a secret Christian. Observing with what courage people endured suffering for their faith and how they confessed Christ, Adrian himself believed. He was put in prison, where his wife, Saint Natalia, supported him. Adrian, along with other martyrs, was subjected to terrible torture. Saint Natalia died on the tomb of her husband.

Why did Peter and Fevronia become saints?

Why is this childless couple, an “unequal marriage,” as they would say now, a role model for the family idyll? Why did the Lord glorify them as the ideal of family life?

It is sometimes difficult for us to accept that the world is not ideal. How often do we come to church to perform a mechanical ritual and calm down: well, now everything will be fulfilled? But the Church is not a service bureau. This is living communication with God, with the saints. Once upon a time, Peter and Fevronia were also simple people, the most ordinary. With your aspirations and weaknesses, hopes. So, the girl Fevronia “did not miss her goal,” as they would have noticed today. So Prince Peter tried to escape responsibility. The goals were earthly, people were not holy. Holiness comes when a person correctly understands his duty and place in this world.

It was probably not sweet for the young people in the company of wealthy boyars - neither the prince nor the poor peasant woman. After all, things don’t always happen as you expect, and Fevronia, unlike her girlish dreams, was not received cordially. Who knows what thoughts visited the naive girl, who, perhaps, simply asked God to send her a good husband and regarded the arrival of the sick prince as a message from above.

And the prince. Did he dream of marrying a simpleton? Was he ready for this marriage and grateful enough for the healing to not shy away from reproach? Did you maintain sufficient tact during the first period of “grinding in”? We won't know. But the Lord glorified His saints precisely because they were able to overcome these difficulties with their heads held high, with an awareness of responsibility for the chosen path. We remained true to ourselves and devoted to each other.

Children are not the goal in a Christian marriage. They are a great blessing and comfort. But not the goal. They say it is more difficult to save a marriage without children. But the faithful spouses succeeded. The family is called a small church - this means that in marriage a Christian learns love. The true one who does not die. And it was on this path - on the path of knowing love and mastering it perfectly that the Murom spouses achieved holiness. And they encourage us to do this - just start, just try. Give in. Cover each other's weaknesses. Keep silent. To be at one with each other before the rest of the world. To be together despite circumstances, “characters”, surroundings.

Prayer at the icon of Peter and Fevronia

Before turning to the icon with the relics of saints, you need to cleanse yourself of all filth before coming to the temple, fast if possible and deeply desire. Having arrived at the temple, you should attend the service, confess and receive communion, and then you can turn to the saints. You should put your whole soul into your prayers, pray earnestly, so that your requests reach the saints and amaze them with purity and faith.

You should also approach your home icon with prayer and without bad thoughts, and if they slip through, then ask the saints to protect you from negativity.

If the saints fulfilled your request, then you should come to the temple and thank them with a good prayer. If you asked for help in finding a good husband or wife, and the saints sent you such a person, then a wedding in the same church would be a good thank you. As well as the baptism of a newborn baby, if you asked for it.

Basic Prayer:

About the great saints of God and the wonderful wonderworkers of the blessed Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia, representatives and guardians of the city of Murom, and about all of us, zealous prayers to the Lord! We come running to you and pray to you with strong hope: bring your holy prayers to the Lord God for us sinners and ask us from His goodness for all that is beneficial to our souls and bodies: right faith, hope goodness, unfeigned love, unshakable piety, prosperity in good deeds, peace of peace, fruitfulness of the earth, prosperity of the air, health of souls and bodies and eternal salvation. Intercede with the King of Heaven: let His faithful servants, in sorrow and sorrow cry out to Him day and night, hear the painful cry and let our lives be delivered from destruction. Ask the Church of Saints and the entire Russian state for peace, silence and prosperity, and for all of us a prosperous life and a good Christian death. Protect your fatherland, the city of Murom, and all Russian cities from all evil, and overshadow all the faithful people who come to you and worship with the relics with the grace of your favorable prayers, and all about fulfill their intentions for good. Hey, holy wonderworkers! Do not despise our prayers offered to you with tenderness, but be the representatives of the Lord in your dreams and grant us, with your holy help, eternal salvation and the Kingdom of Heaven to inherit; Let us glorify the ineffable love for mankind of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, in the Trinity we worship God, forever and ever. Amen.

There are several more prayers and appeals to the saints. They also ask to give a strong family, to enlighten and instruct in family life, to send health to children.
