How to name a girl born in December: beautiful names for girls

What kind of character do December girls have?

To make the right choice, future parents need to simultaneously consider several factors:

  • baby's birth month;
  • the zodiac sign under which she will be born;
  • girl's middle name.

In addition, you need to think about what name to give the girl at baptism: it differs from the secular one. The calendar will help with this, where the name days of all the saints, whom Christians honor on certain days, are written down. Now let's get acquainted with the character of the girls who celebrate their name day in December.

A girl born in December is distinguished by a strong desire for justice. If other children and adults turn a blind eye to some shortcoming, then the baby born in December will directly point it out.

She will rush to protect the offended child from the horde of offenders, not caring at all about her own safety: the physical is lower than the mental for her.

For December birthday girls, fairness goes hand in hand with honesty.

Kindergarten teachers and school teachers are very surprised when the little girl directly tells them everything she thinks about the actions and behavior of her peers or even the teachers themselves. Sometimes such straightforwardness plays against the little girl herself: after all, no one wants to be publicly denounced, much less children - adults.

The ability to see inconsistencies where others do not notice them predetermines the choice of a suitable profession for a girl born in December. She will become a good lawyer, technologist, and auditor.

Any job related to quality control, searching for accidental or intentional errors, concealments or crimes will be ideal for a December girl.

Characteristics of December girls

Of course, genetics plays the main role in character formation, laying down those traits that are inherent in parents or close relatives. However, you probably had to notice that people who had absolutely no family ties, but were born around the same time, were incredibly similar in behavioral characteristics.

We can believe astrologers, or be skeptical about this teaching, but the fact that those born in the same zodiac sign have similar character traits remains a fact. In December, we may have a Sagittarius or Capricorn, what is remarkable about girls born under these signs?

Sagittarians are tireless researchers. Their thirst for knowledge is so strong that they sometimes do not pay attention to any obstacles. Parents may perceive this as clumsiness, but this is not entirely correct, it’s just that your child is busy only achieving his goal, and everything around him becomes completely unimportant. From early childhood, December girls will strive to help and participate in all the processes that they observe. If you direct their energy in the right direction, you can raise outstanding athletes, artists or scientists.

The main thing is to develop the inclinations inherent in nature. Based on these positions, choose a sonorous and serious name for your little ones, which will only emphasize this status with age (although this advice is relevant for any time of year and zodiac sign).

December has been under the sign of Capricorn since December 22. Children born during this period are distinguished by isolation and restraint. Capricorn girls are hardworking, but in all endeavors they need the absolute support of loved ones. It is better to give them strict names that will give them confidence and strength.

Choosing an Orthodox name for the baby

To make your choice easier, use the church calendar, which lists the Days of Remembrance of All Saints, divided by month. The sequence and content do not change, so in 2018 the list of names will be the same as in the previous one.

Behind the list of female and male names presented in the calendar are people with unusual life stories, Christians who went to Heaven thanks to the faith and support of the Lord. Before choosing what name the child will receive, get acquainted with the history of the intended patron so that you can tell your baby about it over time.

How to choose the right one

According to the rules, the name is chosen in accordance with the date of birth and the closest Saint’s Day according to the calendar. For example, a boy or girl was born on December 4th. You should refer to the church calendar and look at the names from 4.12 inclusive. Previously, it’s impossible!

Names for Sagittarius girls and Capricorn babies

The zodiac calendar for December begins with the constellation Sagittarius, which after the 22nd moves under the star Capricorn. The characters of girls born at the beginning and end of the month will be influenced by these two constellations.

Sagittarius develops a passion for knowledge in the baby. The girl is interested in everything, she is not afraid of obstacles or possible disapproval from her parents if she studies something.

Mothers may begin to scold the girl for a broken toy, but she did not do it out of malice, but simply studied the contents.

Adult companies where there is a discussion of issues attract Sagittarius girls like a magnet. They are ready to take on any work just to hear how the conversation develops.

If you instill in her a desire to know the facets of her body, a girl born under the sign of Sagittarius will become an excellent athlete, an outstanding mathematician or surgeon.

The main driving force in it is unquenchable interest.

Choose rare and memorable names for girls:

  • Luchezara;
  • Zarifa;
  • Julia;
  • Shane;
  • Alesta;
  • Angelina;
  • Madina.

Capricorn comes into its own on December 22, and immediately limits the impulsiveness of girls. Outdoor games are being replaced by logical tasks, puzzles, and pyramids. Parents of Capricorn babies will not encounter disassembled dolls. Rather, the baby will gather a family of them, seat them in their places, and come up with an activity for each of them.

Reasonableness is the main character trait of the baby born at the end of December.

She is hardworking, attentive, but slightly reserved. The girl loves home very much and does not strive to leave it for the sake of youth groups in the evenings or early marriage.

Capricorn girls draw their strength from their family. Grandmothers dote on them, and this is mutual.

Slight self-doubt will help to level out firm, strict names that give strength:

  • Esther;
  • Darina;
  • Sophia;
  • Natalia;
  • Kira;
  • Blast furnace;
  • Pauline;
  • Karina;
  • Elizabeth.

Choosing a name according to the calendar

Just a few generations ago, our great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers did not ask such questions at all, since there was an ancient tradition of naming the baby in honor of the saint on whose day of veneration he was born. However, with the prosperity of atheism in a certain period of our history, they gradually began to move away from this custom, giving preference to innovative names (we have all heard about Vladlens, Tractors and Dazdraperms).

But lately we have increasingly begun to return to tradition, and names according to the church calendar are being chosen more and more often. Of course, it is unlikely to completely solve the problem, but at least here you can get a hint in which direction to move.

The December calendar is not very rich in female names, but there is plenty to choose from. If there is no saint holiday on your baby’s birthday, you can choose from the closest options.

On December 3, the memory of Anna and Tatiana is honored, on December 6 - Alice, on December 7, the name day of Catherine and August. The most birthday girls are on December 15, 17 and 23: 15 celebrate Angel Day of Maria, Antonina, Margarita, Tamara and Vera, 17 - Kira, Ulyana, Yulia, Varvara, Anastasia and Ekaterina, and 23 - Anna, Tatyana, Alexandra, Victoria, Angelina , Olesya and Evdokia. December 21 and 22 are the name days of Anna, Euphrosyne and Anfisa, and December 28, 29 and 31 are for Yana, Marna, Sofia, Karina, Zoya and Vera.

From the entire list, we have selected the options that are most adapted to modern times. Among the more exotic names for girls, the calendar offers such as Lukerya, Vaufa, Thekla, Cecilia, Cypriana, Myropia, Christodoula, Feloveya, Stratia, Lucia and Suzanna (more precisely, there this name sounds like Sosanna). As you can see, the names are quite unusual and varied, and even the most demanding future parents will be able to find a suitable option.

Angel Day: what a holiday

Even devout believers are not always familiar with church traditions, and therefore do not distinguish between the guardian angel and the Saint after whom the child is named. The first is a divine protector sent by Heaven at birth, and the second patron is acquired after the Sacrament of Baptism.

The Day of Remembrance of the Saint or the Saint whose name the baby bears, which is closest on the calendar to the date of birth of the child, will be his Angel Day. On this day, confessors recommend visiting the church and praying to your patron in front of the image.

The number of days a year when the Saint of the same name is remembered is not important. A person can only have Angel Day once a year.

Interesting to know

Previously, a child received a name not from parents or relatives, but from a priest. The church charter stated that it was necessary to name the child on the 8th day of life. The priest independently chose the name according to the calendar so that the day the Sacrament was performed on the child coincided with the Day of Remembrance of the Saint or Saint.

When giving the newborn a name, the child was brought to the icon of the Mother of God, describing a cross in the air. Thus, the newly-minted Orthodox believer introduced himself to her patronage.

Birthdays were not then considered the main holiday in people's lives, so they were celebrated modestly (if celebrated at all), while Angel Day was celebrated on a grand scale. Festive pies were distributed, and the more, the more the birthday person was held in high esteem.

In the evening, gifts were given, guests came who might not even remember the date of birth, but they had no right to forget the day of baptism, especially godparents.

Choosing a name for a December girl according to the Orthodox calendar

When choosing female names according to the calendar, note that not every day of the calendar has the name of a holy servant of God. Some parents don’t know what to do if there is no Orthodox name for the girl for their daughter’s birthday.

Meanwhile, Christian tradition allows you to choose any of the female names that fall on dates between the baby’s birthday and the date of her baptism. Below you will find the days of December when the holy saints are venerated.

Why and is it necessary to give a child an Orthodox name?

The clergy do not insist that even the child of believing parents receive an Orthodox name, since there is no such rule in Orthodoxy. Leaving the choice up to parents, they still recommend considering this possibility. And that's why.

It is believed that, being named after one or another Saint, the child strengthens the connection with him and receives protection that can help at the decisive moment. The Saint or Saint will look after the little one throughout his life and appeal to His mercy.

What to name a daughter born from December 24 to 31

The last seven days of December are suitable for the following female names:

Varsava (24);

Amonatha (25);

Aza, Anastasia, Eleanor, Lukia (26);

Anthia, Ivanna (John), Jonah, Susanna (28);

Solominia, Feofania, Sophia (29);

Elizabeth, Zoya or Sophia (31).

It is noteworthy that many points are repeated several times even within one month: over the course of a year, many such repetitions are formed. We draw the attention of future parents to the fact that the church favorably views the choice of names for children and does not require obligatory adherence to the church calendar with the indicated name days and memorial days.

On its pages you can find many worthy options for girls and boys: for example, Arseny, Vasily, Vladimir, Nikolai, Peter are quite widespread in our and neighboring countries, being at the same time accepted in the church.
