Saint Taisia distributed a lot of money to the poor, and therefore, after several years of her charitable activities, her property decreased noticeably, to such an extent that she herself began to be in need. During this period, Saint Taisia met people of not very pious life and came under their influence.
When the monks from the desert monastery, who had previously visited the house of Saint Taisia, learned about this, they were very upset by this circumstance. Then they appealed to Abba John Kolov and asked to visit their sister in Christ Taisia, who had done them so much good.
Abba John responded positively to this request and went to Saint Taisia. When he saw her, Abba sat down next to her, looked into her eyes for a very long time, and then bowed his head and began to cry.
Blessed Taisiya asked why he was crying. To which Abba John replied that the reason for this was the satanic games that were reflected on her face. He asked her why she rejected Jesus Christ, were His works really disgusting to her?
Then, as if a veil had fallen from Taisiya’s eyes, she began to ask the elder about repentance, if it exists for her, then she is ready for anything. After this, Saint Taisia set off after Abba John. When it was already dark, the elder made a flooring for Taisiya from sand, and a little further for himself. When he woke up in the morning, he found Saint Taisia lifeless. Abba John began to grieve that Taisia’s soul perished without having time in earthly life to repent, take communion and become a nun.
At the same moment, as he thought, the elder heard a Voice, which announced that Taisiya, even for an hour of deep repentance, had been forgiven.

There are three known martyrs who were canonized by the Christian Church with this name, therefore there are the same number of dates according to the church calendar.
Taisiya the Martyr

There is practically no information about this saint. The only thing that has survived to this day is her martyrdom because she professed faith in Christ among her fellow countrymen, without fear of the threats of the rulers, and remained a Christian until her death.

Memorial Day: 23.05.
A woman's life took place in the 5th century. She lived in Egypt with her relatives. When her rich parents gave up their souls to God, she began to engage in charity work. Anyone in need of treatment could turn to her and receive help. The house served as a shelter for wanderers. She was surrounded by love and reverence.
After a while, the inheritance began to melt away before our eyes, the girl herself was now in need. During this difficult stage of life, ungodly people begin to hover around. The woman falls under their influence. It happened that the monks whom she had once helped came into the house. Seeing Taisiya in such a state, they were upset and turned to John Kolov, their Abba. He responded, went into the sinner’s house, looked into her eyes and tears flowed from her eyes.
The hostess was surprised by this reaction and asked what was wrong with him. The elder said that a demon could be seen on her face, playing and having fun, and he was sad that the woman had departed from Christ. The girl trembled and began to ask for advice.
After a short time, Abba John and Taisiya set off silently into the desert. The wanderers spent the night there. Having baptized his companion, the monk laid her down at the head of the sand. He took a nap at a distance. The next morning, he began to wake him up to go further, but it turned out that the sinner was dead. The man was upset that she did not have time to take communion and become a nun in order to atone for her sins.
At that very moment, the voice of God consoled him that one hour of repentance for a harlot is more important than others that last many days, when they are not so sincere and selfless.

The life tells that the saint was born to a harlot, who introduced her to her work. Being very beautiful, the girl drove men crazy, ruined them, and caused all sorts of suffering.
Once, the Rev. visited the sinful house for a conversation. Paphnutius the Great. His words were not in vain; Taisiya made a grand bonfire of her treasures in one of the city squares. Afterwards she went to a monastery and settled in a cell for 3 years, where she ate sparingly only once a day.
After the expiration of time, St. Paphnutius asked Anthony the Great whether the recluse had received the Lord's forgiveness. All monasticism began to pray for God to give a sign. This happened in the dream of Pavel the Simple, where he dreamed of a bed guarded by beautiful beauties. A voice from heaven said that it was intended for the harlot Taisia. Paphnutius told the cell attendant about the good news. She fell ill two weeks later and died. Thus the saint was forgiven.

Great Forgiveness
When three years had passed, Saint Paphnutius came to Anthony the Great to ask whether the Lord had forgiven Taisia. Then Anthony ordered all his monastic disciples to pray that the Lord Himself would give them an answer. After a while, Paul the Simple had a vision of three virgins of extraordinary beauty guarding a heavenly bed. Paul was delighted, he thought that this bed was intended for Father Anthony, but a voice from heaven told him that it was for the harlot Taisia. Thus, Paphnutius, having learned the will of God, went to Taisia’s cell to take her out and say that the Lord had forgiven her her sins. Two weeks later, illness overtook her, and three days later Saint Taisia peacefully departed to the Lord. Her name day is now celebrated on October 21.
The Taisis, in deep repentance, received mercy and forgiveness from the Lord. Thus, Taisiya’s name day is celebrated three times a year, as mentioned above: April 4, May 23 and October 21.

Martyr Taisiya
The holy martyr Drosida was the daughter of Emperor Trajan (98–117), a cruel persecutor of Christians. In 99, he renewed the previous law that prohibited secret societies and indirectly affected Christians, and in 104 he issued a special law against Christians.
Starting from this year, persecution continued until the end of his reign. At that time, the bodies of murdered Christians were often left unburied to intimidate others. Five Christian virgins: Aglaida, Apollinaria, Daria, Mamphusa and Taisiya took upon themselves the feat of burying Christians.
They secretly carried away the bodies of the martyrs, anointed them with incense, wrapped them in shrouds and buried them. Having learned about this, Princess Drosida, a secret Christian who had not yet received Baptism, asked the holy virgins to take her with them when they went to perform the burial of Christians.

On the advice of the groom of Saint Drosida, a court dignitary of Hadrian, guards were posted near the dead to seize those who were burying them. On the very first night, Saint Drosida and five virgins were captured. Recognizing his daughter among the prisoners, Trajan ordered her to be kept separately in the hope that she would come to her senses.
The remaining holy virgins were sentenced to be burned in a copper smelter. They bravely accepted execution and were awarded martyr's crowns. Tripods for Trajan's new bath were forged from copper mixed with the ashes of martyrs burned in the furnace.
However, while these tripods stood in the bathhouse, not a single person could enter there: everyone who crossed the threshold fell dead. When the priests realized why this was happening, they advised them to take away the tripods.
Then Hadrian suggested that the emperor melt down the tripods and make from them five statues of naked virgins, similar to executed martyrs, and place these statues in front of the entrance to the imperial bath for reproach and desecration. Trajan agreed.
When the statues were erected, the emperor saw in a dream five pure lambs grazing in paradise, and a shepherd who said to him: “O most lawless and wicked king! Those whose images you planned to expose for reproach, the Good and Merciful Shepherd took from you and settled here, where in time the pure lamb Drosida, your daughter, will arrive.” Waking up, the lawless Trajan flew into a frenzy and ordered two huge furnaces to be flooded and to be heated daily. The royal command was posted on the stoves: “Men of Galilee, worshiping the Crucified One, save yourselves from a great many torments, and us from our labors - make sacrifices to the gods. If you do not want to do this, then let each of you voluntarily, in whatever way he wants, plunge himself into this oven.” Many Christians voluntarily submitted to torture.
Having learned about this, Saint Drosida also decided to accept martyrdom for Christ. In her imprisonment, she offered prayers that the Lord would help her get out of prison unnoticed. And God heard her prayer: the guards fell asleep.
Once free, Saint Drosida went to the stove, but began to think to herself: “How can I go to God without wearing a wedding garment (that is, without having received Baptism), because I am unclean. But, King of kings, Lord Jesus Christ, for Your sake I left my royal position, so that You would deign me to be at least a gatekeeper in Your Kingdom.
Baptize me with Your Holy Spirit." Having prayed, Saint Drosida anointed herself with the holy myrrh, which she had taken with her, and, plunging into the water three times, said: “The servant of God Drosida is baptized in the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” The saint hid for seven days, indulging in fasting and prayer.
