Legend says that at the end of the 16th century, near the village of Ozeryany, a Little Russian peasant was mowing grass on the river bank. The peasant was frightened and saddened by what happened.

Having learned about the case of the miraculous acquisition of the image, Priest Fedor hastened to inform about this to a higher clergy - Bishop Theodosius of Oboyan and Belgorod. The Lord gave his blessing to build a temple here. So, at the place where he was found on the left bank of the Ozeryanka, the first small wooden church appeared. It was dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A newfound icon was placed in the temple, which received the name Ozeryanskaya after the river flowing at the place where it was found.

The main temple of the monastery was dismantled and moved to the settlement of Merefa. The property of all closed monasteries was taken into the state treasury. We place all our hope in You, and in Your holy icon, which You have given us for consolation, we ask: be merciful to us sinners and do not despise our prayers, but give us all - in our hearts there is sorrow for God our Savior, and we call with fiery love To him: Alleluia.

A luminous candle, in the darkness of life, unquenchable, we see Your holy icon, the All-Immaculate One, the source of Your mercy, flowing grace to everyone, with whom there are many sinners, I have improved my salvation, and through Your intercession I have gained the Kingdom of Heaven. Help us too, O All-Merciful One, so that through Your Motherly prayers with the wise virgins we may join the Kingdom of Christ, where Ti rejoices and cries like this:

Rejoice, pleasant censer of prayer, ever-fragrant at the Throne of the Holy Trinity for the salvation of the world; Rejoice, organ of unceasing prayer, asking for God’s mercy to the world.

Rejoice, grace-filled inspiration of Equal-to-the-Apostles and preachers of the Gospel truth; Rejoice, faithful hierarchs of the Church of Christ have the rule of faith and deliverance from sorrows.

Rejoice, diligent builders of the temples of God and faithful servants in them enriched by the love of Christ; Rejoice, hardworking farmers with eternal satisfaction with the bread of life.

Rejoice, thou who unceasingly enjoys the divine beauty of Thy Son and our God; Rejoice, for Him, as the Judge and God, unceasingly beseeches Him for the salvation of the world.

Rejoice, blessed Mother of God among women, illuminating us with the light of Christ’s love.

Thy earthly sign of grace was given to those who desired it, the source of the countless miracles of the pastures of Kharkov in Thy icon of Ozeryansk, Thou didst open, O Lady. In it, Divine grace, the Almighty God of grace, performs signs and wonders, grants healing to all those who come with faith for mental and physical ailments. In the same way, ask us for the grace of sowing help from Your Son, O Most Pure One, so that we may not perish violently without repentance, but be saved by You, we silently sing to the One Shining God: Alleluia.

Singing the indescribable abyss of Thy love, which Thou hast poured out unto the Christian race, falling gratefully, we pray to Thee, Mother of God: as in this life, even in the terrible hour there is no death leave us, but hasten to help and, as truly the Mother of God and sovereign over all, from The people of the soot and the hands of the demonian souls are hasty, and your son and God be inhabited, and even more on the earth, so on heaven, with all the holy skewing tint of the praise:

Rejoice, bounty of the abyss, chosen from the beginning of time to be the head of our salvation; Rejoice, source of indescribable love, merciful Matter shown to the world by the Passion-Bearer of Golgotha.

Rejoice, you who had compassion for your Son at the Cross and loved peace with Him; Rejoice, Church of Your Son, delivering from all evils, having exalted the Christian race.

Rejoice, flower of unfading virginity, weaving the crown of all virtues within Yourself; Rejoice, rainbow of the Divine Sign, united in heaven and earth at the Throne of God.

Rejoice, O all-holy Thy Face, breathing grace and life, like Divine Paradise, to those who look upon Thee; Rejoice, O exalted one above the Heavens, O joy and consolation to those who continually magnify You.

O Most Blessed Mother of Christ our God, the Heavenly Church, a wonderful adornment, an earthly shield and affirmation, Motherly intercession for all in all sorrows, and grace among the temptations of this world new illumination of our souls! Accept, O All-Merciful One, this poor prayer of ours, offered to You before Your Most Pure Image, and beseech the All-Good God to show His mercy on us and on our peoples, in His power and The grace of the Holy Spirit, having overcome all evil, can never be satisfied with the love of God, and So with a pure heart, here and in the future, sing the saints’ praises to the Most Holy Word: Alleluia.
