Sunday, December 12, 2022: what will happen in the temple?

You can have a funeral meal at home. At the table, your dead are remembered in prayer and in good memories. Funeral kutia must be prepared for the table; knives and forks are prohibited on the table.

Radonitsa is the biggest parent's day of the year. It is always celebrated on the second Tuesday after the Holy Resurrection of Christ. In 2022 it will be May 11th.

This is the first day after Easter when funeral services resume in all churches. The night before, you need to go to the nearest temple to submit a note about the repose of the souls of your dead, in which you should list their names.

In the morning there are memorial services, at which all the names submitted in the notes are mentioned. Now you can also pray in the temple, your dead will be remembered. Candles for the repose are placed on a special funeral table; it has a square surface. You are allowed to bring food to the temple to commemorate your dead, which will subsequently be distributed to poor families under the care of the temple.

At the exit from the temple, it is good to distribute alms or food items to the poor for remembrance. You can use it to name the person you would like to remember. All good deeds done on this day are counted to the souls of your dead, today in their name you do all the good.

After the temple, you can visit the cemetery, but not for remembrance (it was already in prayer in the temple), but in order to restore order there and keep the graves clean.

You can have a funeral meal at home. At the table, your dead are remembered in prayer and in good memories. Funeral kutia must be prepared for the table; knives and forks are prohibited on the table.

Sunday, December 12, 2022

Sunday is a day off, which every Christian devotes to God and His works, first of all, to visiting church. On this day we put aside other things to participate in the liturgy.

In the “Getting Ready for Sunday” project, we are trying to help you consciously come to Church, study the traditions and features of the service in advance, get acquainted with a passage from Holy Scripture and its interpretations, as well as the short lives of the saints commemorated by the Church on Sunday - December 12 .

Interpretation of dreams from May 11 to 12

What you dreamed about on the night of May 11-12 needs to be remembered. In a week the dream should come true. Eg:

  • a clean lake symbolizes health;
  • reading psalms - to a long journey in life;
  • sifting flour - to vision problems;
  • wiping dust from furniture - to the possible loss of a relative;
  • authoritative orders - on the contrary, lead to loss of respect.

He was elected vice-chairman of the All-Russian Russian-Montenegrin Charitable Society. During his years of study at the Academy, as a secondee of the Holy Synod, he gave lectures as a delegate of the All-Russian Guardianship of Captive Slavs.

Grigory Rasputin was disposed towards Fr. Mardari was extremely hostile and eventually achieved his removal from Petrograd to the city of Ardon (the territory of modern North Ossetia) as a teacher, where he arrived on January 10, 1917. On July 3, 1917, the Holy Synod appointed Hieromonk Mardariy as head of the Serbian mission in America with the elevation to the rank of archimandrite.

For the consecration of Archimandrite Mardari, the permission of Patriarch Tikhon was needed, but communication with him at that time was difficult. Therefore, the clergyman went to Belgrade. Rituals on the Day of the Nine Healers

A conspiracy to ward off evil misfortunes from the family

You need to stand on the threshold of the house, turning your back to the street, and read the spell words three times:

“Lord, take away nine arrows from me - from water, judgment and fire, from the noose, the knife and the thief, from malicious slander, from encroachment on the body and shelter, and from the breakdown of the aura for blood. Amen".

Conspiracy against any troubles in life

“Martyrs of Kizi, help me, protect me from troubles and misfortunes. So that I, the servant of God (name), do not know terrible losses and everyday struggles, burning despair and sobbing sobs, temptation and mental darkness, loneliness and evil charm, loss of spiritual joy. Let me live my life in spiritual purity and moral well-being. Amen".

According to popular beliefs, May 12 is an unfavorable day for a person to be born; he is destined for nine trials in life.

Features of Orthodox worship

Last time we talked about the litany for the departed, with the royal doors open and the censer. Today we will talk about the litany of the catechumens. With this petition, we pray that the Lord would have mercy on the catechumens, instruct them in the truths of the holy faith, and honor them with Holy Baptism.

Read about who the catechumens are in our material. All those praying in the church ask God to have mercy on the catechumens, enlighten them with the Truth, reveal the Gospel, unite them with the Church and save them with His grace.

During this litany, the priest unfolds an antimension on the throne, which means “instead of the throne.” This word is derived from the Greek words “anti” - instead and “mission” - table. The antimension looks like a quadrangular board with the image of the “Position of Christ in the tomb” and a sewn-in particle of relics, on which the Liturgy is performed. It is impossible to celebrate the Liturgy without an antimension signed by the ruling bishop.

The deacon ends the litany with the exclamation: “Yes, and they glorify with us...”, which means our prayer for the fate of the catechumens with us (believers) in glorifying the Most Honorable and Great Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Prayer after the Akathist of Holy Pascha

“Oh, Most Sacred and Greatest Light of Christ, Who shone forth more than the sun throughout the whole world in Your Resurrection! On this bright and glorious and saving day of Holy Pascha, all the angels in heaven rejoice and every creature rejoices and rejoices on earth and every breath glorifies Thee, its Creator. Today the gates of heaven have been opened, and the dead have been freed into hell by Your descent. Now everything is filled with light, the heavens are the earth and the underworld. May Your light come into our dark souls and hearts and may it enlighten our present night of sin, and may we also shine with the light of truth and purity in the bright days of Your Resurrection, like a new creation about You. And thus, enlightened by You, we will go forth in luminosity at the meeting of You, who comes to You from the tomb, like the Bridegroom. And as Thou didst rejoice on this bright day by Thy appearance of the holy virgins who came from the world to Thy grave in the morning, so now enlighten the deep night of our passions and dawn upon us the morning of passionlessness and purity, so that we may see Thee with our hearts, redder than the sun of our Bridegroom, and may we hear once again Your longed-for voice: Rejoice! And having thus tasted the Divine joys of the Holy Pascha while still here on earth, may we be partakers of Your eternal and great Pascha in heaven in the unevening days of Your Kingdom, where there will be unspeakable joy and those celebrating the unceasing voice and ineffable sweetness of those who behold Your ineffable kindness. For You are the True Light, enlightening and illuminating all things, Christ our God, and glory befits You forever and ever. Amen".

Reading the Gospel:

Gospel of Luke, chapter 13, verses 10 - 17

10 He taught in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 There was a woman who had had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years; she was bowed down and could not straighten up. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman! you are freed from your illness. 13 And he laid his hands on her, and she immediately straightened up and began to praise God. 14 At this the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, “There are six days in which the work must be done; come on those days to be healed, and not on the Sabbath day. 15 The Lord answered him, “You hypocrite!” Doesn't each of you untie his ox or donkey from the manger on the Sabbath and lead him to water? 16 Should not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound for these eighteen years, be set free from these bonds on the Sabbath day? 17 And when He said this, all those who opposed Him were ashamed; and all the people rejoiced over all His glorious deeds.

Traditions and customs on Holy Saturday

Holy Saturday is the time when Easter services are held in churches in the evening. If you do not have the opportunity to attend the all-night vigil, you should not go to bed even at home. This night is given to us to light a candle in front of the icon of Jesus Christ. In addition, it is important to set aside some time to offer sincere prayer. First of all, among the holiday customs there is the coloring or decoration of eggs. Often red dye was used for this, but previously there was no variety in this sense. Today, the choice of colors is unlimited, so be guided by your own imagination. The first egg that has been painted is offered to a younger family member in the future. When the product was handed over to the baby, the words should have been said: “As long as people paint eggs, until that very time the saints will not forget our house. Key, lock, tongue. Amen. Amen. Amen".

Holy Saturday is the last day of Lent. At this time, Easter dishes should have been prepared, but there was a taboo on eating them. This is a difficult time for housewives, because they will have to practically not leave the kitchen, which is turning into a factory for preparing for the Resurrection of the Lord. Moreover, traditionally there should be at least 12 dishes on the festive table.

On Holy Saturday it is necessary to show kindness as much as possible, because the day is also associated with forgiveness and reconciliation. It is important to ask for forgiveness from people who hold a grudge against you. Try to find a solution to any conflict at this time, because it is suitable to forget about quarrels. Try not to put a negative aura on the holiday - get rid of negative emotions and feelings. You are supposed to give alms to the poor if you meet those in need on your way. Don’t forget about your loved ones and relatives - under no circumstances should you leave them without gifts today.

Everyone is no longer used to restrictions, because on Holy Saturday, as on other days of Holy Week, it is forbidden to celebrate weddings. Don't loudly celebrate birthdays, family dates, or have fun for any other reason. Beliefs say that a wedding celebration on Easter week will lead to a quick separation of the couple. And in practice it turns out that this rule is often fair. On the evening of Holy Saturday, Easter cakes, eggs, and other products that will be served on the Easter table are traditionally blessed in churches. Among the mandatory attributes in the basket, it is important to choose the right ingredients for the whole family. So, there should be enough blessed colored eggs for each family member. You also need to take with you a piece of meat or pork, sausage, butter, water, cottage cheese, Easter and church wine.

Every year on the last Saturday before the onset of Easter, the ceremony of the descent of the Holy Fire takes place in Jerusalem. In Russia, a kind of Christian Mecca is the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, where thousands of parishioners can gather at the same time. They all want to be involved in one of the main biblical miracles. According to legend, if the Holy Fire does not descend in a certain year, the Last Judgment will take place during the next year.
