Prayer to David: description of the text, the essence of the concepts of meekness, protection from anger

When we begin to pray, all sorts of troubles pass us by. Have you noticed? One has only to begin to trust in the will of God, and life becomes easier.

But entrusting your life to God is difficult. Man is distrustful by nature. I got used to it all on my own. And without God, what are we ourselves? We can’t even really stand up for ourselves. And if we can, then through swearing and scandals.

Instead of cursing, defending our point of view and being angry, it’s better to pray. Let's read David's prayer, it helps to soften the evil hearts of our offenders.

What is meekness?

Let's start by defining meekness. Why should we do this? Because the prayer we need contains this word. The prayer “Remember, Lord, King David” will be given a little later. Now let's move on to analyzing the definition.

What is meekness? This is one of the Christian virtues. This is a Divine quality. Man is created in the image and likeness of God, he must strive to be like the Creator in all his deeds and virtues.

The Savior is the clearest example of meekness. Look, He was crucified for the sins of the human race. He is God. God who became man. For what? To be closer to people, to save them from death and sin. And really God couldn’t do without a cruel and shameful execution for you and me? Of course he could. But this is where His meekness is revealed. Meekness is humility. God in his love ascended to the Cross to save sinners.

Meekness is a calm attitude towards everything. This is a renunciation of revenge; a person does not return evil for evil. This is humility and patience. Condescending towards other people and demanding of oneself.

By the way, one of the Gospel commandments mentions meekness:

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

KATHISMA TWELFTH

And in this psalm, the divine David speaks of the great works of the “mind of God,” for the prophecies about Christ scattered in it need understanding. All God’s promises to King David are understood as promises to Christ Himself and the heirs of His kingdom. The prophet predicts the birth of Christ from the seed of David, His kingdom and the saving suffering that He endured for us (Chrysostom, Athanasius, Augustine).

Ps.88:2. I will sing of Your mercy, O Lord, forever, I will proclaim Your truth with my mouth to generation and generation.

What are these “mercies” of the Lord that He has shown to us and which we should sing about, if not the destruction of the principalities and powers, and the very power of the devil and the liberation of us from sin and death? The “Truth” of the Lord is Christ, who came down from heaven for our salvation and whose name is pronounced “with their lips” throughout “generations and generations” by all the saints (Athanasius).

Ps.88:3. Thou hast declared: mercy will be created forever, Thy truth will be prepared in Heaven.

Great and wonderful “mercy” will be “created”, i.e. will be raised up and risen through Christ God, namely: salvation and grace (Athanasius).

Ps.88:4. I have made a covenant with my chosen ones, I have sworn to my servant David:

These words are spoken on behalf of God the Father; His “elect” are Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, to whom the promises of Christ were given. And under the name of “David”, who exhausted himself to the point of “a slave’s eye” (Phil. 2:7), of course our Lord Jesus Christ (Chrysostom, Augustine).

Ps.88:5. I will prepare your seed forever, and I will build your throne for generations and generations.

Obviously, this does not apply to David himself, for how can this apply to someone who died? But to Christ, as coming from the line of David and always living and reigning (Athanasius).

Ps.88:6. The heavens will confess Your wonders, O Lord, for Your truth is in the church of the saints.

There is a change of tone here, since further speech comes from the person of the Prophet. By “heaven” he means those who think about heavenly things (such a person is also called heavenly by Paul) (see 2 Cor. 5) (Chrysostom).

Ps.88:7. For whoever in the clouds will be equal to the Lord; become like the Lord in the sons of God;

The prophet makes a comparison in proportion to the weakness of the unbelievers. Only Satan, out of his pride, dared to “be equal to the Lord,” but he was cast out of heaven into utter darkness, for neither on earth nor in heaven is there anyone equal to God. And how will the one who receives become like the one who gave, who has the power to take away his gift? The Lord “God is Spirit” (John 4:24). He calls angelic forces “clouds” because of their sublimity; Although the angels are incorporeal, they are in space and have outlines: the “sons of God” are saints, the image and likeness of God is given to them only in part: “from the fulfillment of Him” (Christ) - they themselves testify - “we have all received the grace and grace of grace " Therefore, He gives as God, and those are enriched by what they receive from Him (Chrysostom, Theodoret, Athanasius, Eusebius, Didymus).

Ps.88:8. God is glorified in the council of saints, He is Great and Terrible above all those around Him.

Who are these “neighborhood” people if not saints? For although they draw closer to God through the holiness of their lives, He is also “terrible” for them when they sin. The Lord is strict towards the righteous and generous towards the sinner - in accordance with our benefit. For He strengthens the righteous with fear, and He restores the sinner with mercy (Chrysostom).

Ps.88:9. Lord God of hosts, who is like You; Thou art strong, O Lord, and Thy truth is all around Thee.

The Prophet often repeats this expression, not asking a question to God, but in amazement at His greatness, wanting to show His incomparability with anything. He also testifies to the equality of the Father with the Son, calling Christ “the Truth of the Father,” as coming from Him. Whoever intends to become like Christ, so that he himself can be called a son of God, born of the Spirit, a saint, must first of all endure the sorrows that he encounters complacently and patiently, whether they be physical illnesses, or insults and reproaches from people, or the intrigues of the evil ones. demons. For, according to God’s vision, trials of souls through various sorrows are allowed, so that souls who sincerely love the Lord will undoubtedly become evident (Chrysostom, Macarius V.).

Ps.88:10. You rule over the power of the sea; you calm the disturbance of its waves.

The prophet turns from the invisible to the glorification of God in visible things, mentioning the sea as a terrible storm (Chrysostom).

Ps.88:11. Thou hast humbled Thou as the ulcer of the proud: Thou hast squandered Thy arm of Thy strength upon Thy enemies.

“The proud one” is the devil, whom God “humbled like a plague” - as wounded or as smitten. The Lord sensually humbles every proud person who, through suffering, humbles his arrogance (Athanasius, Diodorus).

Ps.88:12. The heavens are Yours, and the earth is Yours: You founded the universe and its fulfillments.

Ps.88:13. You created the north and the sea: Tabor and Hermon will rejoice in Your name.

In Holy Scripture, the sea refers to the West. The prophet here compares "north" with "west" because both sides are cold and dark. “Tavor” and “Hermon” - both mountains are nearby. The first will “rejoice” as having received Christ’s blessing for the Transfiguration, and the second, as having received a blessing from her neighbor, and also as having risen above the Jordan, in which the Lord was baptized (Chrysostom).

Ps.88:14. Thy arm is with strength: let Thy hand be strengthened, and Thy right hand be exalted.

The Only Begotten Son of God is called the “arm” of the Father, and the “hand”, and the “right hand” of the Lord (Cyril).

Ps.88:15. Truth and destiny are the preparation of Thy Throne: mercy and truth will come before Thy face.

By “truth” and “fate” we mean the righteous future judgment. God does not “have mercy” on everyone, but only on those who regretted their sins and made amends for them through repentance or acts of mercy towards their neighbors (Chrysostom).

Ps.88:16. Blessed are the people who cry out: Lord, in the light of Your face they will walk,

Spirit-bearers will walk “in the light” of the Spirit sent through the Son, who is the “Person” of the Father, for they are guided by the Holy Spirit in all bright deeds (Nicetas).

Ps.88:17. And in Your name they will rejoice all the day, and in Your righteousness they will be exalted.

Ps.88:18. For You are the praise of their strength, and in Your favor our horn will be exalted.

Ps.88:19. For the Lord is the intercession of our Holy King of Israel.

David pleases those who praise God in love and like-mindedness (Nikitas).

Ps.88:20. Then you spoke in the vision of your son, and you said: I put help on the strong one, I lifted up the chosen one from my people.

Through “His sons” - the Prophets, God “spoke” about the salvation of the pagans. Christ was “ascended” to the Cross and attracted the lost to Himself (Chrysostom, Athanasius).

Ps.89:21. I found my servant David, and anointed him with my holy oil.

These words were spoken by God the Father about Christ. The psalmist calls Christ “David”, as from His seed; “slave” - as a slave who appeared in the image. “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My desires” (Acts 13:22). To be after God’s heart means to love God with all your heart: “If you have My commandments and keep them, that is you who love Me” (John 14:21). The Shepherd also requires many labors, for he must bear the burdens of everyone (Athanasius, Augustine, Demetrius).

Ps.89:22. For My hand will protect him, and My arm will strengthen him.

Ps.89:23. The enemy will not have time to attack him, and the son of iniquity will not try to embitter him.

Ps.89:24. And I will cut off his enemies from before him, and I will overcome those who hate him.

Ps.89:25. And My truth and My mercy are with him, and his horn will exalt in My name.

Ps.89:26. And I will place his hand on the seas, and his right hand on the rivers.

Ps.89:27. He will call upon Me: Thou art my Father, my God and the Intercessor of my salvation.

Ps.88:28. And I will make him the firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

Ps.88:29. I will preserve My mercy for him forever, and My covenant is faithful to him:

Ps.88:30. And I will set his seed for the age of ages, and his throne as the days of heaven.

All these prophecies were fulfilled in Christ. God’s “mercy” is poured out abundantly on those born of Him in spirit through the forgiveness of sins. For it is not on his own that the believer dares to call God “Father,” but by the good will of the Savior, who made us His brothers and like Himself, and therefore commanded us to pray: “Our Father.” Verses: 22, 23, 24, 26, 28 – verbs of the Holy Spirit. So, in God all our strength, all the might and glory of Rus', and without God we are all weak and powerless, we are unsuccessful, we are ridiculed everywhere, throughout the world. Serves it right! We ourselves wanted and want to be governed, without God, by our proud mind. “God is not mocked” (Gal. 6:7), and without Him there is no lasting success in anything (Chrysostom, Athanasius, Theodoret, John of Kronstadt).

Ps.89:31. If his sons forsake My law and do not follow My destiny:

Ps.89:32. If they desecrate My justifications and do not keep My commandments:

Ps.89:33. I will visit them with the rod of iniquity, and with the stripes of their iniquity.

Due to divine wrath, for our lawless crimes there occurs hail, and pestilence, and wars, and spoilage of fruits, and earthquakes, and the cruelty of rulers. For the Lord “visits with a rod” all our “iniquities” if we do not live according to His holy commandments. Therefore, when we are punished, we will not blame God, we will not blame, even if we strive in fasting or other virtues, because we do good deeds not as we should, which is why we need punishment (Vasily V., Chrysostom , Maxim Grek).

Ps.89:34. But I will not destroy My mercy from them, nor will I destroy it in My truth.

Ps.89:35. I will profane My covenant, and I will not reject those who proceed from My mouth.

But look! Along with punishment, God also promises His mercy. At first He punishes us for our sins, but after punishment He has mercy. He punishes believers so that they will repent and be saved. What boundless philanthropy! (Chrysostom).

Ps.88:36. I have sworn one oath concerning My Holy One, lest I lie to David;

God calls His promises an oath; for by what can He swear, by whose name all swear? God, not having anyone higher to swear by, swears by Himself and His holiness (see Heb. 6:13-17) (Chrysostom).

Ps.89:37. His seed will endure forever, and his throne is like the sun before Me,

Ps.88:38. And as the moon is perfect forever, and the Witness in Heaven is faithful.

The “Throne” of Christ is the Holy Church, which will shine and enlighten the heavenly places, “dwelling” constantly like the “sun” and “month”. For, just as no one is able to extinguish the sun and the circle of the moon, so no one will ever darken the radiance of the Church, i.e. her mental lordship. She always shines like the great luminaries. By “faithful Witness” of the Church we mean the Scripture of the Lord God Himself (Cyril, Eusebius).

Ps.88:39. You rejected and humiliated, You were indignant at Your anointed.

Previously, the Prophet spoke on behalf of God, but now he himself addresses God with his own words. For their lawlessness, God “rejected” the Jews, depriving them of His Kingdom, which can be taken literally. But in the highest sense, the kingdom of Christ is “not of this world” (John 18:36), as He Himself said, i.e. not sensual - but mental, for the Kingdom of Christ is the obedience of believers and their voluntary service (Chrysostom).

Ps.88:40. Thou hast ruined the covenant of Thy servant, thou hast desecrated his shrine on earth.

By “shrine” we mean the Church of Christ, which God allowed from time to time to be persecuted by the godless. And the “servant” of God is Christ, as having taken upon Himself the “form of a servant” (Phil. 2:7) and born of She who said to the angel: “Behold, the handmaid of the Lord: be unto Me according to Thy word” (Luke 1:38 ) (Diodorus).

Ps.89:41. You have destroyed all his strongholds, you have laid down his stronghold with fear.

He calls the holy apostles “strongholds” of Christ and His fortifications; for, having abandoned Him during His suffering, those who seemed to be His “strongholds” fled (Athanasius, Cyril, Didymus).

Ps.89:42. I plundered it all by passing by, and was reproached by my neighbor.

Ps.89:43. Thou hast exalted the right hand of those who oppress him; thou hast made all his enemies glad:

The Savior on the Cross was the subject of ridicule and “reproach” for his enemies (Athanasius).

Ps.89:44. You turned away the help of his sword, and you did not stand up for him in battle.

It says “turned away” instead of “kept.” The Lord did not immediately punish the crucifiers, but out of great love for mankind gave them the opportunity to repent (Athanasius).

Ps.89:45. You destroyed him from his purification, you threw his throne to the ground.

Ps.88:46. Thou hast diminished the days of his time, thou hast covered him with cold.

The psalmist explains the assumption of the crucifiers, who thought that by crucifying Christ, they completely deprived Him of being, and glory, and name. However, the prophets talk about what is happening before their eyes: and here David, as an eyewitness, describes the suffering of Christ (Cyril, Athanasius).

Ps.89:47. How long, O Lord, do you turn away from the end; Thy wrath shall be kindled like fire;

There is a change of tone here, because the Prophet, leaving the face of the Jews, interrupts the prophecy and turns to God with a request for all humanity. “How long” will the insolence of the Jews, who want to crucify our Only Begotten and Savior, have power? How long, “Lord,” will you not be pleased to look at our illnesses and not put an end to our disasters? But “like fire” you kindle “anger” by remembering our sins (Chrysostom, Athanasius).

Ps.88:48. Remember my composition: for thou hast created food in vain, all the sons of men;

The “composition” of human nature is weak and insignificant, since it is created from the earth and needs God’s help to be recreated. Not “in vain,” but out of His goodness, the Lord created man so that he would serve as an adornment to all creatures, and so that through him the meaning and purpose of creation would be visible (Chrysostom, Theodoret).

Ps.88:49. Whoever lives and does not see death will deliver his soul from the hand of hell;

No one can escape “death” and no one is able to deliver “his soul” from the “torment of hell” if the Lord God does not grant resurrection (Athanasius).

Ps.88:50. Where is the essence of Your ancient mercy, O Lord, in the image of which You swore to David in Your truth;

Here is a change of tone: the Prophet again addresses the prophecy to the Jewish people. He asks for the fulfillment of the promises, pointing to the coming of Christ, which is the basis of all the mercy and love of God towards us. “The Lord swears to David by the truth, and it will not be rejected” (i.e. by Christ, who is “Truth”): “I will plant from the fruit of Your womb on Your throne” (Ps. 131:11) (Chrysostom).

Ps.89:51. Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Thy servant, who have restrained the tongues of many in my bosom.

Ps.89:52. By whom I have reproached Thy enemies, O Lord, by whom I have reproached the change of Thy Christ.

David and other prophets suffered a lot of “reproach” because the coming of Christ was delayed and was therefore considered false. The psalmist begs God to remember these “reproaches” and clearly show the incarnation of the Lord in order to maintain reverence for the prophets (Chrysostom).

Ps.89:53. Blessed be the Lord forever: awaken, awaken.

The Prophet imprinted his speech with a beautiful seal. He especially blesses Christ, pronouncing a double blessing, because Christ put an end to the reproach of the Prophets and the Church (Chrysostom).

Why are we angry?

Evil is not from God. Before you start screaming, stamping your feet and swearing loudly, let’s remember the prayer “Remember King David.” Let’s take a leisurely breath, read it mentally and exhale.

When we swear, we thereby make the little ones happy. Their goal is to take possession of the human soul. And show God how His creatures are like unclean spirits. Let us not succumb to provocations from the servants of hell.

Yeah, easy to say. Try to remain silent when they undeservedly scold and shout. Let them scold, let them shout. We immediately remember David’s prayer and do it internally.

Do you remember why we get angry? The enemy incites us, and we follow his lead. This is also called “negative emotions,” which we are advised not to hold back, but to throw off with a scream.

They scold us

Oh, how embarrassing it can be. When the boss calls us “on the carpet” and let’s humiliate us in vain. You are standing red, you don’t know from shame where to hide your eyes. And it’s okay if we get what we deserve. And if not? What to do here? Start making excuses? Get irritated and raise your tone?

In no case. We stand, remain silent, and silently say the prayer “Lord, remember King David.” This is its abbreviated name. The full text will be given below.

The boss continues to “blow his mind”? It's okay, we'll be patient. Let's pray mentally while he screams.

When to pray?

What helps with King David’s prayer “And remember all his meekness, O Lord”? From scandals and abuse. In a silent confrontation with an evil and cruel person. Humility conquers anger. And let them tell us that if we are silent, then we are cowards and show our weakness. This is wrong. If we do not respond to abuse with abuse, then this does not mean weakness. Only a strong person is able to shut up in time, much less pray for his offender.

A quick and small prayer to Jesus Christ will help you cope in emergency situations

There is also a special prayer from an evil boss, which is needed in emergency situations. She addressed Jesus Christ:

“Lord Jesus, Son of God. Teach how to ward off the evil envy of your enemies. Please save me from sorrowful days. I firmly believe in Your help and earnestly pray for forgiveness. In vicious actions and sinful messages, I sometimes forget about the Orthodox faith.

Forgive Me and bless Me for deliverance. Do not send anger on my enemies, but return all their envy back to them. Thy will be done. Amen".

The prayer to Jesus Christ is the shortest, but everything you need is stated there

How to pray?

Do you have to go to church to pray? Not necessary. The prayer “Remember, Lord, King David” is read when it is necessary to protect yourself from the anger of others. She softens an evil heart. And you can read it on the way to the showdown.

In fact, if a person knows that he will have to communicate with someone cruel and evil, then on the way to meet him, let him mentally read the prayer of King David. He asks God for help, intercession and softening of aggression and the flow of anger.

Interpretation of St. Philareta (Drozdova)

The holy elder Filaret Drozdov interprets in his own way the prayer to David set out in Psalm 131. He claims that the holy text is an appeal to God by David's son Solomon. He asks the Creator to remember his father during the consecration of the temple he built and says a prayer in honor of his great ancestor:

This request of Solomon to the Creator is justified; King David, in the process of building the temple, almost completely abandoned all worldly goods. And he, contrary to the opinion of the people and the demand of the priests, erected the Temple of the Lord not where the city church had always been erected, but in the place where the Angel showed him. It was difficult to resist the crowd, but David’s meekness, faith and humility remained unshakable, and the Lord strengthened his spirit.

How to thank for help?

We love to ask and are not shy. And we often forget to say thank you. However, when David’s prayer helped us, we need to thank the Lord for it.

How? It's simple. We go to the temple and order a thanksgiving prayer. And not according to the principle of ordering and forgetting. No, we stay at the prayer service, sincerely pray and give thanks.

If there is absolutely no opportunity to visit the temple, then we thank you at home. We read the akathist “Glory to God for everything,” for example.

No need to be lazy. God is not lazy when he wakes us up in the morning. Or when he answers our prayers, knowing that we won’t even thank him.

Who is David of Gareji?

We were talking about David’s prayer and suddenly we went in a completely different direction. What is it for. And to the fact that this saint helps with infertility, with other female diseases and during childbirth.

The Monk David came from Syria to Georgia. This was in the middle of the 6th century. The saint settled in Tbilisi. And he began to preach the Christian faith. Naturally, the pagan priests took up arms against him for this. They began to think about how to slander the saint. They persuaded one girl of questionable behavior to help in this vile matter. Namely, to declare publicly that Saint David is the father of her unborn child.

Nothing worked out for the priests. At the trial, David touched this girl’s belly with his staff and asked a question about his paternity. And the belly answered him: “No.” In front of the astonished people, the girl immediately gave birth to a stone. And David, in memory of the Lord’s intercession, asked Him for a healing spring on that mountain.

Since then, Orthodox Christian women have resorted to the saint for help with their female diseases.

Description and meaning of prayer

First, let's find out who King and Prophet David is. In principle, this is a well-known character, which even people who are not Christians by faith have probably heard about.

David became famous as the great king of Israel, although before ascending the throne, he was an ordinary shepherd, to whom, however, the Lord entrusted the whole kingdom.

He became famous as a great king and commander, whose military successes can be entirely considered outstanding. In addition, he is revered as a great prophet. During his reign, Israel was one of the richest and most prosperous kingdoms, because David deeply revered the Lord and tried to follow his instructions in everything.

However, despite his chosenness and fear of God, David was not a sinless man. Unfortunately, such is human nature, so even the great king made mistakes.

One of them can be considered polygamy, which, as you know, is prohibited in Christianity. Adultery can also be added to this, since the prophet liked the wife of his military leader Bathsheba. In order to make this woman his, he sent her husband to certain death, which, of course, went against the Christian way of life.

And although, like all people, David made terrible mistakes in his life, he had the courage to admit them and repent of what he had done. So, when he was accused of wanting to take possession of someone else’s wife out of lust and getting rid of her husband, the prophet did not even justify himself, but instead immediately repented of his sins before God.

As a rule, this prophet is turned to if protection from evil people is needed. King David was known as a great military leader and defender of his people, which is why it is customary to turn to him with such requests.

We often encounter ill-wishers, and at this moment we may need the protection of a saint, which this great king may well become.

There are several situations in which it would be appropriate to turn to David and ask for mercy and protection:

  1. Protection from ill-wishers.
  2. When there are attacks of rage or anger that need to be controlled.
  3. Reconciliation of loved ones who are currently in a quarrel.
  4. In a difficult situation when a person cannot find a way out.
  5. Before any dangerous or important event.

How to pray to a saint?

Is there a prayer to David of Gareji? Of course, not alone. He works real miracles, which becomes known. The icon of the saint is located in one of the churches in Moscow. Namely, in the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity on Pokrovka, 13.

And here is a prayer to David of Gareji:

Oh, all-bright, God-praised Abba David, holy of God! You, by the power of the good Law-giver, have appeared to us, bound and overcome by the snares of the evil one, as a mentor in repentance and a helper in prayer. For this reason, you have been given many gifts of grace and miracles, the resolution of our sins and the remission of sins, the healing of illnesses and the driving away of the devil’s slander. Also, by your fatherly mercy in the divine understanding, by your many laborious prayers and supplications, and especially by your unceasing intercession for us, may the Lord God raise us, who have fallen into sin, with His invincible power against every visible and invisible enemy, so that by giving thanks to your holy memory, with desire We desired to worship the Eternal God in the One Trinity, Father and Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

A little about miracles

Let's learn more about the prayer of David of Gareji. And about what miracles happen to those who turn to this saint.

As mentioned above, it helps in women's diseases and infertility. Holy water from a prayer service in front of the icon of St. David is especially popular. Here are some reviews of its miracles you can find:

  • There were no children for 18 years after the birth of the first child. The woman began to drink water and became pregnant. Three years after my second birth, while sorting out my supplies, I found this water and drank it. She became pregnant with her third child.
  • Another woman could not have children for a very long time. I began to regularly drink water from the prayer service. Now a happy mother.
  • The clergyman's wife was in storage. He brought her water from the prayer service, and mother gave it to her neighbors in the ward. A series of recoveries began.

Returning to King David

Who is King David? Quite a multifaceted personality. Second Jewish (Israeli) king. If you trace his history, he did absolutely terrible things. For example, he married Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite. He was sent to certain death. And here you can see the fall of King David.

But what distinguished him from other historical figures? Ability to accept criticism. If the same Ivan the Terrible killed Metropolitan Philip, who exposed him, then David acted differently. After the prophet Nathan exposed David's crime, he repented. And his repentance was very great.

Briefly about prayer

How to pray correctly? This question is probably asked by every person. There is no prayer, everything inside is stone. You read and read, but only say prayer words with your lips. The heart is deaf.

The Lord accepts even our intentions. If your heart is cold, you cannot stop praying. On the contrary, you need to force yourself to pray. I don’t want to, I’m lazy, I’m tired—these are all familiar excuses. No strength to stand? Sit down. It is better to think about prayer while sitting than to think about your feet while standing. Do you know this phrase?

Just don't use it regularly. When you are really really tired and don’t have the strength to stand, you can sit down. But the sitting position gives relaxation. We sit, relax and no longer think about prayer, but luxuriate. It's good that we're not lying down.

One priest, a former military man, said the following words about sitting in prayer. When we come to our boss at work, we are afraid of him, if not afraid. We go into the office and wait until she invites us to sit. We don’t plop down on a chair without his permission, do we?

And God is much higher than the boss. And he should be respected more. If we are afraid of man, then what can we say about God?

There are practically no shops in Orthodox churches. This is because the person who came to the service is not in the theater. He came, sat down, looked and left. No, in our church, the person who comes is a direct participant in the service.

Prayer to the Guardian Angel from the evil authorities

Most people have their own guardian angel, although they feel his protection only when they find themselves in a difficult life situation, turning to him with words of prayer before the anger of their boss at work. As a rule, prayers addressed to your patron and spoken with special love will certainly bring the desired result. It is important to remember that you do not need to ask to punish a capricious boss, whose attacks do not stop, but you need to forgive him and bring him to his senses, to rid his heart of bitterness and unfair treatment of his subordinate.

By the will of Allah, You were sent to me, my guardian angel, my protector and confidante.

Therefore, in my hour of need, I cry out to You and pray that You will save me from great misfortune.

I am oppressed by those in earthly power, and I have no protection except the heavenly power that stands above us all and rules our world.

O holy angel, protect me from the oppression and injustices of those who rule over me, protect me from their injustices, for I suffer innocently because of them.

Forgive, as God taught, these people for their sins against me, for the Lord has exalted those who have exalted themselves above me, and is thus putting me to the test.

For all this is the will of God; from everything that is above the will of God, deliver me, my guardian angel.

And so I ask You in my prayer.

Amen.

Let's summarize

In the article we talked about the prayer of King David. We also touched upon the topic of prayer to David of Gareji. Let's highlight the main aspects:

  • The prayer of King David is read when protection from evil and softening of a hard heart is needed.
  • You can create it on the go, for example, going to work and knowing that you will be called to your boss for a serious conversation.
  • People turn to David of Gareji for infertility. It helps in women's diseases and childbirth.
  • There are known cases of healing through the prayers of the saint. Examples are given above.

A protective prayer to the Mother of God is needed if a person wants to protect himself from negativity at work

“Soften and warm our evil hearts, Holy Mother of God, take away the hatred of our enemies, and take away all rudeness and callousness of the soul. Those who pray to Your Holy Image, we are touched by Your suffering and mercy, and we are horrified by Your spiritual and physical wounds, from our unrighteous deeds tormenting You.

Do not allow us, Mother of the Compassionate, to perish in the cruelty of us and our loved ones. For You are the softener of evil hearts.”

A petition to the Mother of God for protection from a negative attitude from a superior will have miraculous power if pronounced in front of the image of the “Seven Arrow” icon
