Miracles performed by St. George the Victorious

Saint George (Gyurgi, Yuri, Egor) became famous during his lifetime, but even after death he performed many miracles. Life of the Great Martyr

In those days, Christians were exterminated en masse, which could not leave George indifferent. He distributed his property to the poor and admitted his faith in God, which greatly angered the pagan ruler - he did not want to lose a talented warrior.

But neither his persuasion nor his torture shook the saint’s faith; he endured everything and was beheaded in 303 in Nicomedia; his memory is celebrated annually on May 6th. For such a death the saint was glorified as a great martyr.

He is popularly presented as a strict, brave (impudent towards lawless people), but a fair helper in danger.
Yaroslav the Wise (baptized George) built a temple in his honor.
