Peace be with you, dear visitors of the Orthodox website “Family and Faith”!

This page is dedicated to conciliar prayer for the long-suffering Ukrainian land. Let us pray for an end to the war and the advent of peace and prosperity in Ukraine.

Prayer by agreement is the fulfillment in practice of the words of Jesus Christ:

“Truly I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven, for where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I in the midst of them.”

To take part in the prayer for a peace agreement in Ukraine, mentally agree with the participants in this prayer and read it at 21:15 Moscow time. If someone is unable to read the prayer at the specified time, you can add it to the evening rule.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

King , Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.

Prayer by agreement

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, You said with Your most pure lips: “Truly I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven, for where there are two or three are gathered in My name, there I am in the midst of them.” Your words are immutable, O Lord, Your mercy is unconditional and Your love for mankind has no end. For this reason, we pray to You, fulfill the requests of Your servants: (Your names), and all those who are now offering a conciliar prayer with us, You Yourself know their names, Lord, who agreed to ask You for an end to hostility on the Ukrainian land and fraternal bloodshed; about the advent of peace, silence and prosperity. We pray to You for the fulfillment of our petitions. But let it be not as we want, but as You, Lord, may Your will be done forever. Amen.

In peace with the Almighty, Holy King.
Look from heaven and see how the people of our land are at enmity and plotting vain and evil things against each other. Oh, Most Merciful! Forgive our sins and iniquities, for the sake of which many sorrows, misfortunes and fears have come upon us. With the grace of the Most Holy Spirit, water the withered hearts of men with love, overgrown with thorns of self-love, hatred, envy, malice, enmity, wickedness and other iniquities, so that the love burning for You and your brothers may increase, and through it may all strife, discord, divisions in our Fatherland be destroyed . We earnestly pray to You: grant peace to our power, to Your Church and to all the people of our land. For You are the King of the world and Your peace knows no bounds, and to You may glory, thanksgiving and worship be sent from all, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Kontakion to the Blessed Virgin Mary

In the chosen Voivode, victorious, as having been delivered from the evil, let us write thanks to Thy servant, the Mother of God, but as having an invincible power, free us from all troubles, let us call Thee: Rejoice, Unmarried Bride.

DDear brothers and sisters!PRules of prayers by agreement - changed.

From August 2022, there is no need to take a blessing for prayer by agreement from the priest. The Russian Orthodox Church gives a general blessing to everyone.

From January 2022, we have also removed the list of names of participants for all convention prayers, as it is very difficult for us to keep track of the list and add new names to the eleven convention prayers daily. Also quite often there were problems due to technical reasons.

From now on, everyone can independently (mentally) join the prayer by agreement. And in the prayer itself, mention those praying with the phrase “... and to all those who now offer a conciliar prayer with us, You Yourself know their names, Lord, who agreed to ask You...”, which is inserted into the prayer itself.

God bless you !

UKRAINIAN VERSION: Prayer for peace in Ukraine. Devolution of Ukrainian Catholic Bishops of the USA

Along the way, the rest of the world has learned: the warlords of the military forces, ready to attack, have destroyed the democratic Ukraine and its will-loving people. The escalation of the war, as the Kremlin has already seen all the dooms, will lead to cruel bloodshed and endless human suffering. Tens of thousands will die, and millions will become refugees. The economic and political legacies of the sequential devastation and material ruin in Ukraine are recognized throughout the world. You just need to know the analysis that explains the potential for a catastrophe and its global extinction.

We appeal to you not as politicians or military strategists, but as people who believe in God. For “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which never fails, but tries forever.” (Ps 125.1) As spiritual shepherds, we implore you and all people of good will to pray for peace and justice for Ukraine.

We ask that tomorrow, the 13th week of the year, our priests and parishes, monastics, relatives and around the faithful, begin a three-day prayerful feeling for peace and the sure heart of those who preach violence and ignite war.

With the help of the secrecy of our call, we call upon the skin priest, the parish and the nun’s splendor, the skin’s homeland and the skin’s people in their own way to come to the sense of prayer. Let our churches be destroyed, let prayer be filled with special prayers. Carry on and take part in divine services, pray the Jesus Prayer, on the rope, prayerfully read the Holy Letter. Fast in order to focus on the hope that God can give you.

Let our eyes focus on the Lord, His name will be on our lips, and let our hearts be filled with hope. “Put all your shards on Nyoy, because Vyn is swearing about you. Be firm and feel it! Your enemy, the devil, stalks you like a roaring lion, searching for someone to kill. Resist him, you who are strong in faith, knowing that even your brothers throughout the world will know such suffering” (1 Pet. 5:7-9).

Ukrainians of all religions have witnessed the mystery. In our modern history, we were told that without war and bloodshed, the Baltic Curtain fell, the Radian prison of nations fell apart, and the freedom of our Churches was taken away.

We place our trust in the Lord and ask for His intercession. “These are the chariots, these are the horses, and we are strong in the name of the Lord our God. You were kidnapped and fell, we’re standing and we’re hurting!” (Ps 20:8-9). We pray for peace and good fortune for the Ukrainian people. It amazes his faith and resilience. It is good for the Lord to save the country and people from the distant avalanche.

I pray and hope. Let's hope. Know God and His love to the world.

Prayer for peace in Ukraine

The moment has come when no one can remain completely indifferent to the events taking place on Ukrainian soil. Bloodshed and division between people can never be a plus. We sincerely hope that all parties to the conflict understand this, and that politicians will try to find opportunities to overcome the existing crisis. We believe that no matter how far the confrontation goes, the opportunity for reconciliation is never completely lost. There is no border beyond which you cannot go back, repent and regain your human form.

For the first time since the Cold War, the world is seeing the summing up of its results - a direct clash between Russia and the United States. It becomes clear that Ukraine is just a bargaining chip in this geopolitical game. We are faced with the fact that the West, by manipulating our media before our eyes, is pitting two peoples against each other: Russian and Ukrainian. Although in reality there are no two peoples, we have one people and it is impossible to divide it into two. The media gives us the appearance of two points of view on events: Russian and Ukrainian. But in reality there is none of this, because this cannot happen. There is something that has always been very familiar to everyone, the continuation of the Cold War - the clash of the Russian point of view and American propaganda.

In this situation of general confusion, we need to pray for the peace of our fraternal peoples. The West’s task is to rock and disrupt stability in both Russia and Ukraine. And our goal is to maintain the existing peace at any cost. A bad peace with thieves and embezzlers is better than a good war with patriots and murderers. The Church has always taken this position. You need to find the strength within yourself and look a little beyond your nose.

A healthy body does not get sick. Since we are struck by illness, it is worth thinking about what our faith is. Is she as she should be?! The wolf has been known to attack a sick sheep. Is anyone other than us to blame for our illness? Did the West kill millions of our babies? Doesn't the West allow us to fast? Doesn't the West allow us to help the poor and sick? Why did the Lord, the most loving Father, the closest and dearest, in whose Hand our every breath is, give us over to be torn to pieces?

Christ has no enemies. And if they help you find an enemy, they are leading you away from Christ. The goal of a person’s earthly life is not to fight for worldly victories, but to have time to leave the world. The method of spiritual life is to learn how to surrender to the Will of God. You will have to learn this throughout your life. But when you learn, you understand that not a single earthly goal is worth fighting for.

We need to turn people to God, not to politics. And God himself will change the situation. After all, Christ does not fight with anyone. Therefore, if you have entered into the Struggle, it means that you are no longer with Christ. God does not act as carnal people suppose. He does not help them solve their problems, but simply removes the problem or punishment when it is no longer needed. So we have nothing to fight for, and if you think about it, you will see that there is no one to fight with. Everything depends on ourselves.

We ask all of you, dear friends, to unite in the main thing that has always united Christians beyond time and space. Let us pray for peace, forgiveness and reconciliation today. And may the Lord lead us out of the dead end in which we all now find ourselves. So, we need to turn not to fighting enemies, but to God, Who opposes no one. Our weapon is prayer, not hate. This is our strength. And in fear and hatred is our weakness and defeat.

The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate distributed the text of the prayer for peace in Ukraine throughout the dioceses and blessed it to be read at services.

Prayer for peace in Ukraine

Master Almighty, most merciful Lord, accept our kneeling prayers and our humble tears offered before Thy Holy Altar at this time of trouble and sorrow of Thy people, accept the intercession of all our holy relatives, whom we now call for help and intercession, so that the light of Thy love may be revealed on Your Cross has enlightened every suffering person in this world, in the darkness of enmity and lawlessness.

Accept the petition of the holy and faithful Prince Vladimir, the baptist and enlightener of our land; accept the prayer of the passion-bearers Saints Boris and Gleb, who teach not to raise your hand against your brother; accept the intercession of Your saints Anthony and Theodosius and with them all the reverend men and women, who made their souls whiter than snow with tears of repentance; accept the exploits of the new martyrs and confessors, who through their sufferings preserved our saving faith in You; accept the petitions of all the saints of Your Church, who have sanctified our land with their labors. Most of all, accept the prayerful Protection of Your Most Holy Mother, Our Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, by Her shameless intercession Your people have been delivered many times from all enmity and internecine strife.

Hear us, O God, our Savior, and be merciful, merciful Master to all those who suffer and are burdened, and forgive us our debts, teaching us to leave the grievances of our debtor, and bow Your anger to Your mercy, pacifying all sedition and disorder in our power For You are our only good and humane God, and to You we send glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

“This is my most intense prayer,” admitted the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' performs cell prayer for Ukraine every day. The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church said this at a meeting with children from Ukraine, held on November 3, 2022 in the refectory of the Epiphany Cathedral in Moscow, Patriarchia.ru reports.

“I am called to pray for everyone. I cannot list everyone by name - tens of millions of people belong to our Church. But I pray for our Church, for the people. And every day, very specially in my cell, I pray for Ukraine. This is my most intense prayer, which requires special inner strength, because I know that it is very difficult today - the enemy of the human race is taking up arms against the unity of our Church. And therefore I pray that the Lord will give us all strength, strength, and confidence in the rightness of our cause,” noted Patriarch Kirill.

Representatives of children's creative groups from different cities of Ukraine annually make trips to the Orthodox shrines of Russia - the miraculous Vladimir Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the venerable relics of Saints Peter and Alexy, Blessed Matrona and other shrines. In front of the relics of Saints Peter and Alexy, young pilgrims perform a deep prayer for peace in their country. The pilgrimage group is headed by the head of the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church “Church and Culture”, the abbess of the Odessa Archangel Michael Monastery, Abbess Seraphima (Shevchik). This year the department organized the pilgrimage for the fifteenth time.

During the meeting with Patriarch Kirill, the children performed Ukrainian songs and dances, presented the Primate with a loaf of bread and hand-made gifts.

“I would like to sincerely thank Mother Seraphima and all of you, my dears, for coming every year,” said His Holiness, welcoming the guests. – For the fact that together with you we celebrate the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and for the fact that you bring me this wonderful gift - joy, peace, love, energy, beauty of the Ukrainian land. May the Lord keep us all in spiritual unity. May the Lord keep Ukraine in peace, unanimity and prosperity.”

“Such meetings are, to some extent, an answer to my prayers,” the Primate added. “In your face I see a young generation of Orthodox people, Ukrainians, who preserve the unity of our Church, and therefore hope for a future that will be bright, peaceful, and I very much believe, prosperous for all of us, my dears.”

At the end of the conversation, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill blessed the young pilgrims and presented them with memorable gifts.

We are publishing a prayer for peace in Ukraine, which can be read with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill as a prayer for the entire Russian Church. But, unfortunately, the question is not only about the structure of Ukraine, but also about the existence of Russia. The war that the West craves to delay the crisis is approaching. Schearchim. Elijah (Nozdrin) called everyone to a common prayer for peace. A bad peace is better than a good war. You need to read a prayer for Russia too. The time has come to forget petty strife and turn to God in one impulse. — Holy Mount Athos
