Orthodox prayers read on Easter Day

The rite of the Easter service

Bright Matins
Before the start of Easter Matins, a censer is lit and fragrant incense is placed in it to fill the room with incense. A censer here means any vessel in which burning hot remains of charred wood and incense are placed.

Arrival bows. Then the elder:

For the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. Amen

Singers: Amen.

The eldest: fencing himself with the sign of the cross, he sings twice:

Christ is risen from the dead, stepping on death upon death, and giving life to the grave.

The third time he sings until halfway, and then the singers sing: and the belly is free for the grave.

Then all the singers sing three times: Christ is risen from the dead, come upon death by death, and give life to the grave.

The elder reads:

Verse 1. Let God rise again, and let His enemies be scattered.

Verse 2. As the smoke disappears, let them disappear.

Verse 3. So let sinners perish from the presence of God, and let righteous women rejoice.

Verse 4. In this day which the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.

Glory... Christ is risen from the dead.

And now... Christ is risen from the dead.

Those praying after each verse, both after Glory and after And now, sing CHRIST RISEN FROM THE DEAD three times.

The elder sings: Christ is risen from the dead (up to half), the worshipers then continue to sing: and the life of the grave is given freely.

Lord have mercy (12 times). Glory, even now.

Canon of Holy Pascha

Voice 1st

On Easter night Iirmos we sing each song four times. Then we sing troparia for a total of 12 (which song has 2 troparions - we sing each 6 times, where there are three troparions - we sing each 4 times). (each hymn of the canon consists of an irmos and two or three troparia. The troparia begin after the word: “Chant”). Katavasia after each song there is an irmos of the same song, which we sing 2 times.

Kontakion, tone 8. Even though you went down into the grave Immortal, you destroyed the power of hell and rose again as a conqueror, O Christ God, having proclaimed joy to the myrrh-bearing women, and bestowing peace upon His apostles, giving resurrection to those who had fallen.

Ikos. Even before the sun, the sun sometimes went into the grave; having anticipated the morning in a demanding manner, as in the days of the myrrh-bearing virgin, and crying out to friend to friend, O friend, come, let us anoint the life-giving and buried Body with stinks, the flesh of the resurrected fallen Adam, lying in the tomb; let us go and sweat, like wolves, and let us worship and offer myrrh, like gifts, not in swaddling clothes, but in a shroud, to Him entwined, and with weeping we cry, O Master, arise, Who has given resurrection to the fallen.

Having seen the Resurrection of Christ, let us bow to the Holy Lord Jesus, the only Sinless One (bow). We worship Your Cross, Christ (bow), and we sing and glorify Your holy resurrection. For you are our God, do we know no other to you, we call your name. Come, all the faithful, let us worship the Holy Resurrection of Christ (bow), behold, the Cross has come for the joy of the whole world; Let us always bless the Lord and sing of His Resurrection: for you endured crucifixion, and destroyed death by death (three times).

Jesus rose from the grave, as he prophesied, and gave us eternal life, peace and great mercy (three times).

Wives with the world of God-wise, following You; I seek Him as if dead, with tears, bowing down and rejoicing in the living God, and Thy secret Passover, O Christ, disciple of the gospel (4 times).

Glory, even now. Luminous. Having fallen asleep in the flesh as if dead, the King and Lord has risen for three days, and raised Adam from ashes, and abolished death. Easter incorruptibility, salvation for the world (2 times). Glory, even now. And one more time we will eat the same luminary.

Psalm 148. Praise the Lord from heaven, praise Him in the highest. Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His might. Praise Him sun and moon. Praise Him all the stars and light. Praise Him, the heavens of the heavens, and the waters above the heavens, that they may praise the name of the Lord. As it was He who spoke, He commanded and was created. Let me put it in the age, and in the age of the century. Give the command, and it will not go unnoticed. Praise the Lord from the earth, serpents and all the deeps. Fire, hail, snow, blast, stormy spirit, those who do His word. Mountains and all the hills. The tree is fruitful, and all are cedars. The beast and all the beasts. Reptiles and birds are birds. The kings of the earth, and all people. The prince and all the judges of the zemstia. Boys and maidens. Let the old men and the young men praise the name of the Lord. For the name of the One has been exalted. His confession on earth and in heaven. And he will exalt the horn of his people. A song to all His saints. I eat the sons of the people of Israel who are approaching.

Psalm 149. Sing a new song to the Lord, His praise in the church of the saints. Let Israel rejoice in Him who created Him. And the sons of Zion will rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name in person, in the tympanum, and in the psalms, and sing to Him. For the Lord delights in His people, and will lift up the meek to salvation. The saints will be praised in glory, and will rejoice on their beds. The praises of God are in their throats, and two sharp swords are in their hands. Bring vengeance to the nations, reproof to the people. Bind the king with their fetters, and their glorious hand with iron shackles. Create judgment in them is written. Glory to all His saints.

Psalm 150. Praise God in His saints, praise Him in strengthening His powers. Then the reader says: Praise Him in His strength.

Singers sing in tone 1. Praise Him according to His great greatness.

Stichera: We sing Your saved passion for Christ, and glorify Your resurrection.

Reader: Praise Him with a trumpet voice.

Singers: Praise Him with the psaltery and the harp.

Stichera: Having endured the Crucifixion, and having abolished death, and rose from the dead, pacify our lives, Lord, for one is Omnipotent.

Reader: Praise Him in tympanum and face.

Singers: Praise Him with strings and organs.

Stichera: Having captured hell and raised man, by His resurrection Christ, grant us with a pure heart to sing and praise You.

Reader: Praise Him with the cymbals of good will, praise Him with the cymbals of shouting.

Singers: Let every breath praise the Lord.

Stichera. Your divine gaze is glorious, we cry to You Christ, born of the Virgin, and inseparable from the Father, suffering like a man. And by will I endured crucifixion, rose from the grave, like a bridegroom who came from the palace, and saved the whole world, Lord, glory to You.

Stichera Pasce, tone 5.

Elder: May God rise again.

Singers on the 5th tone. And His enemies will burst out.

Everyone sings: The sacred Easter has appeared to us today. New Holy Easter, Mysterious Easter, All-Honored Easter, Easter of Christ the Deliverer. Easter is immaculate. Great Easter, Easter for the faithful, Easter opening the doors of heaven for us, Easter sanctifying all the faithful.

Senior: The smoke disappears.

Singers: Let them disappear.

Everyone sings: Come from the vision of the woman who brought good news, and cry to Zion, receive from us the joy of the Annunciation, the Resurrection of Christ. Show off and rejoice, and rejoice in Jerusalem, having seen the King Christ from the tomb, like the Bridegroom.

Elder: So let sinners perish from the face of God.

Singers: And let the righteous rejoice.

Everyone sings: The myrrh-bearing women, very early, appeared at the tomb of the Life-Giver, and found an angel sitting on a stone and told them, saying to them, “Seek the Living One with the dead.” Why are you crying into the aphids. Go and preach as His disciples.

Elder: This is the day the Lord has made.

Singers: Let us rejoice and be glad.

Everyone sings: Easter is red, Easter is the Lord's Easter, Easter is all-honorable to us, Easter, let us receive each other with joy. O Easter, deliverance of sorrow, for from the grave this day, as from this Palace, Christ, fill the women with joy, saying, preach as an apostle.

Senior: Glory. Singers: And now. Resurrection day, let us be enlightened by triumph, and we will accept each other, and the brethren, and those who hate us. Let us forgive all by the resurrection, and thus we cry, Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and free life to those in the tombs.

In the church after this, with repeated singing of Christ is Risen... the believers kiss the Holy Gospel, the Cross, the icons, and then a festive kiss with the clergy and among themselves with the words: Christ is Risen! - Truly risen!

Then in the temple the priest, standing at the royal doors, reads, turning his face to the worshipers, the Word of St. John Chrysostom for Holy Easter. At home, this word is read by the elder.

Paul's mouth, Christ's mouth, Christ's mouth, Paul's mouth. Chrysostom's mouth and Pavlov's mouth. Like our holy father John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinograd. The word for Holy Easter is instructive. And about those who are late for the Lenten feat, bless the father.

If anyone loves God, is faithful and pious, let him accept this good bead and enjoy this most honorable celebration. If anyone is prudent from a well-behaved servant, let him enter rejoicing into the joy of his Lord. If anyone has fasted and eaten, let him now receive a piece of silver. If anyone has eaten from the first hour, let him accept righteous debt today. If anyone comes after the third hour, let him celebrate with thanks. If anyone has reached the sixth hour, he will doubt nothing, for he will gain nothing. If anyone has missed even the ninth hour, let him begin without a doubt, fear nothing. If anyone comes even at the eleventh hour, let him not be afraid because he is delayed. For the Lord is humane and accepts the latter, just as he consoles the first, who came at the eleventh hour, as he did from the first hour. And he has mercy on the last, and he comforts the first. And he gives to one, and to this he bestows. And he honors the work, and praises the proposal, and loves the haste of those who hesitate. Therefore, let all of you enter into the joy of your Lord, first and second and last, and receive the reward. Rich and poor and poor, rejoice with each other. Honor the day of abstinence and laziness. Those who have fasted and those who have not fasted, rejoice today. The church meal is ready, everyone can enjoy it. A well-fed Taurus is presented. No one is greedy, everyone will enjoy the church feast, everyone will receive the riches of goodness. But no one weeps in poverty when the common Kingdom appears. Let no one weaken, let no one weep for sin, forgiveness is greater and leaving us from the tomb, let no one fear death, for the death of the Savior will set us free. Extinguish her, those who are kept from her. Die hell and go to hell. Woe to him if he tasted His flesh. And behold, having preceded Isaiah with a cry, hell was grieved with his speech, he will shit thee. Be upset, for you will soon be scolded. Accept the body and admire God. Receive the earth and destroy the sky. It is pleasant to see, but to fall into ignorance. Where is the sting of death, where is the victory in hell? Christ has risen and hell has been cast down. Christ has risen and the demon has fallen. Christ is risen and the angels rejoice.

Christ is risen, and life lives throughout the world. Christ is risen, and not a single dead man is in the tomb. Christ has risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have died. To him be glory and dominion, forever and ever, amen.

After this we will sing the troparion of St. John Chrysostom.

From your lips, like a radiant dawn shining, your God-given grace, enlighten the universe. It is not for money that you lay down the treasure of the world, but show us the height of humility of mind, and punishing with your words, Father John Chrysostom, pray to the Word of Christ God, to save our souls. Lord have mercy (40 times). Glory, even now. Lord have mercy (12 times). Glory, even now.

Elder: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us.

Singers: Amen.

God strengthen the Christian faith, Lord preserve and have mercy on the Russian state, Lord save and have mercy on our Archbishop (name of the rivers) and the father of our spiritual ones who are in Christ with our brethren, and God save all Christians.

Christ is risen... (3 times with a bow). Elder: Christ is risen (up to half). The singers sing: ...and the life of the grave is given freely. The eldest says: Risen from the dead, Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, prayers for the sake of Thy Most Pure Mother by the power of the Honest and Life-Giving Cross, the glorious and all-praised Apostle Saints and all for the sake of the saints, have mercy and save us as the Good and Lover of Mankind.

Singers: Amen.

The elder says: Christ is risen!

The worshipers answer: He is truly risen!

And this is repeated three times, while everyone protects themselves with the sign of the cross.

The singers sing: And we have been given eternal life and worship His three-day resurrection.

After this the first hour begins.

Christ is Risen (3 times). Having seen the Resurrection of Christ, let us adore (bow) the Holy Lord Jesus, the One Sinless One. We worship Your Cross, Christ (bow) , and we sing and glorify Your holy Resurrection. For You are our God, do we know no other to You, we call Your name. Come, all the faithful, let us worship (bow) the Holy Resurrection of Christ. Behold, having come to the Cross for the sake of joy to the whole world, let us always bless the Lord, we sing His Resurrection, He endured the crucifixion, and destroyed death with death (3 times).

Having anticipated the morning, even with Mary, and having found the stone rolled away, I hear from the angel, who in the ever-present light does not look with the dead like a man. You see the graveclothes, preach to the world that the Lord has risen, having put to death, that He is the Son of God, saving the human race (1 time).

Even though He went down into the grave Immortal, but destroyed the power of hell, and rose again as the Victorious Christ God, He gave joy to the myrrh-bearing women, and His apostle bestowed peace, giving resurrection to those who fell (1 time).

In the grave with the flesh, in hell with the soul like God, in paradise with the thief, and on the Throne Christ is with the Father and the Spirit, fulfilling everything indescribable.

Glory. Like the Life-Bearer, like the most beautiful of Paradise, truly, and every royal palace, the most luminous Christ of Your Sepulcher appeared, the Source of our Resurrection.

And now. Rejoice in God's most sanctified dwelling, for You have given joy to the Theotokos, crying out to You, blessed are You among women, the Most Immaculate Lady. Lord have mercy (40 times). Glory, even now. Most honorable Cherub... Bless the Father in the name of the Lord.

For the prayers of the saints, our Father... Christ is Risen (3 times).

Let go: Risen from the dead, Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, prayers for the sake of Thy Most Pure Mother, our reverend and God-bearing fathers and all for the sake of the saints, have mercy and save us, as you are Good and Lover of Mankind. Amen. Lord have mercy (3 times).

Easter hours.

The 3rd, 6th, 9th hours are sung in the same way as the first hour.

The beginning of each hour: For the prayers of the saints... Amen. Christ is risen... (3 times). And so on, just like the first hour.

There is no dismissal at the end of each hour, but immediately after the Most Honest Cherub... and For the Prayers of the Saints... we begin the next hour.

The beginning of lunch.

After the 9th hour (in home prayers, where there is no Liturgy) Christ is Risen (3 times), Resurrection of Christ... (written at the first hour) - 1 time, Prelude to the morning... (1 time). Glory..., Even to the grave... (written in the first hour) - 1 time, And now...

The Only Begotten Son and the Word of God, Immortal. For the sake of our salvation, it is our will to become incarnate from the Holy Mother of God, and the ever-Virgin Mary, immutably human. Christ God will be crucified, advancing death upon death, One and the Holy Trinity. O glorified Father and Holy Spirit, save us.

Whenever you come to this Kingdom, remember us, Lord.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for to them is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are those who cry, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Blesseds of mercy, for there will be mercy.

Irmos of the 3rd canto: Come, let us drink new beer; it is not from the barren stone that miracles work, but from the incorruptible source that brought forth Christ from the tomb, and in Him we rely.

Blessed are those who are pure in heart, for they will see God.

Now everything is filled with light, heaven and earth and the underworld, so that all creation celebrates the rise of Christ, in Him we are affirmed.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for these shall be called sons of God.

Repeat the stichera: Now everything is fulfilled...

It is blessed to expel the truth for the sake of them, for those are the Kingdom of Heaven.

Yesterday Christ was crucified, yesterday I was buried, and today I stand with the resurrection of thee, glorifying the Savior Himself in His Kingdom.

Blessed are those who revile you, and destroy you, and say all sorts of evil things against you for lying to Me.

Song 6th. Having preserved the signs of Christ intact, He rose from the tomb of the Virgin Key unharmed at His Nativity, and You opened the doors of heaven to us.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is in heaven.

Repeat the stichera: Keeping it intact...

Glory... My Savior, alive, and not a sacrificial slaughter, as God, by His own will, brought you to the Father. Co-resurrect Adam, the one who has risen from the grave.

And now...

Repeat the stichera: My Savior...

All of the above stichera for the Blessed are taken from the Easter canon. They are sung to the tune of the Easter canon.

Then the Jesus Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. Singers: Amen. And they sing: Elites were baptized into Christ, put on Christ, hallelujah (3 times). Glory, even now. Put on Christ, hallelujah.

The singers sing Elitsy in Christ one more time... (1 time).

The reader says: Prokeimenon, Psalm of David: This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.

The reader says: Confess to the Lord that He is good, for His mercy endures forever.

The singers sing: This day...

The reader says: Let the house of Israel say that He is good, for His mercy endures forever. The singers sing: This day...

The reader proclaims: From the Acts of the Apostle, readings (and the apostle reads):

I spoke the first word about everyone, O Theophilus, and Jesus began to create and teach about them. Before Him, the Apostle commanded the day by the Holy Spirit to choose them, and ascended. Before them, set yourself alive because of Your suffering in many true signs, appearing to them for forty days and speaking about the Kingdom of God. With them are the poisonous ones, who commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which they heard from Me: for as John baptized, eat with water, but you are to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, not many of these days. They then came together to ask Him, saying: Lord, if in this summer you will establish the kingdom of Israel. Speech to them: you cannot understand the times and years that the Father has made His domain. But you will receive the power that the Holy Spirit has come upon you: and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the last of the earth.

The reader proclaims: Psalm of David, alleluia.

The singers sing: hallelujah.

The reader says the verse: You have risen, having spared Zion.

Verse 2: The Lord looked down from heaven to see all the sons of men.

Verse 3: Receive the Body of Christ, and taste the immortal Source.

The singers sing hallelujah after each verse. The reader sings Alleluia and the singers also sing Alleluia (Alleluia is sung five times in total).

The elder will make three bows and say: From John, the Holy Gospel, reading.

The singers sing: Glory to Thee, Lord (bow).

Then he reads the Gospel:

In the beginning was the word, and the word was to God, and God was the word from the beginning to God. All that was: and without Him nothing came to be. In that belly and belly is the light of man: And the light shines in the darkness, and His darkness is not embraced. There was a man sent from God, his name was John. This One has come as a testimony, to testify to the light, so that all may have faith in Him. There is light in that sky, but let it testify to the light. Be the light of the true, which enlightens every person coming into the world. In the world there was no, and the world was, and His world was not known. He came to his own, and did not receive his own. The little ones received Him and gave them the power to become children of God, believing in His name. Who was born not of blood, nor of carnal lust, nor of manly lust, but of God. And the word became flesh, and dwelt in us, and we saw His glory. Fill the glory of the Only Begotten from the Father with grace and truth. John testifies of Him, and cries out, saying: He has killed Him who came before me, because He was before me. And from His fulfillment we all receive and receive grace. For the law was given by Moses: and true grace was made by Jesus Christ.

The singers sing: Glory to Thee, Lord (bow).

The reader reads: Remember us, Lord, when you come to this Kingdom (bow).

Remember us, Master, when you come to this Kingdom (bow).

Remember us, Saints, when you come to this Kingdom (bow).

The face of heaven sings to You and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, fill heaven and earth with Your glory.

Verse: Come to Him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be ashamed. The face of heaven sings to You and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, fill heaven and earth with Your glory.

Glory. The assembly of saints, angels and archangels, with all the heavenly powers, sings to Thee and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, fill heaven and earth with Your glory.

And now. I believe in One God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God, who was born of the Father before all ages. Light from Light, True God, from True God, born, not created, Consubstantial with the Father, by Him all things were. For our sake, man, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit, and the Virgin Mary became human. Crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, suffering and buried, and resurrected on the third day according to the scriptures. And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. And again the one who comes with glory will be judged by the living and the dead, but His Kingdom has no end. And in the Holy Spirit of the Lord, True and Life-Giving, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who spoke the prophets. And into one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. I hope for the resurrection of the dead. And the life of the next century, amen.

Forgive us, God forgive our sins, voluntary and involuntary. Even in word and in deed. Both in control and not in control. And even in the mind and in thought. Even in days and nights. Forgive me all, as you are Good and Lover of Humanity.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Jesus Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. Amen. Reading the Easter kontakion:

Even though He went down into the grave Immortal, but destroyed the power of hell, and rose again as the Victorious Christ God, He brought joy to the myrrh-bearing women, and His apostle bestowed peace, giving resurrection to those who fell. Lord have mercy (40 times).

There is one Holy One, one Lord Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father, amen.

The singers sing: Christ is risen (three times with bows).

I will bless the Lord at all times; I will make His praise in my mouth. My soul will glory in the Lord, that the meek may hear and rejoice. Magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. Seek the Lord, and hear me, and deliver me from all my sorrows. Come to Him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be ashamed. Behold, the poor cried, and the Lord heard, and saved him from all his sorrows. The angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear Him and deliver them. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who trusts in Nan. Fear the Lord, all your saints, for there is no hardship for those who fear Him. Those who are poor and hungry are rich, but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good. (For the celebration of the great Feast, it is advisable to sing in singing, starting after the Gospel).

The singers sing: Shine, shine... Then: Christ is Risen (3 times with bows).

The elder sings: Christ is risen... (to half).

The singers sing the end: ... and the life of the grave is free.

The eldest reads the dismissal: Risen from the dead, Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, prayers for the sake of Thy Most Pure Mother, by the power of the Honest and Life-Giving Cross and the glorious and all-praised apostle saints and all for the sake of the saints, have mercy and save us, for He is Good and Lover of Mankind. Singers: Amen.

The elder, protecting himself with the sign of the cross, says: Christ is risen! Those praying, also protecting themselves with the sign of the cross, answer: Truly he is risen! And so on up to three times.

The singers sing: And we have been given eternal life, we worship His three-day resurrection (bow). They sing three times: Christ is risen... Lord have mercy (3 times).

Initial bows.

Usually, during such a service, Easter eggs are also brought, and they stand here all Easter night, and thereby are, to some extent, sanctified by the Easter service itself.

Easter. Easter service (text)

At Your resurrection, Christ the Savior, / Angels sing in heaven, / and grant us on earth / to glorify You with a pure heart. (They sing three times in the altar, and during the procession).

And the one who conquered and raised man, / through His resurrection, Christ, / made us worthy with a pure heart / to sing and glorify You.

Glorifying Your most fitting condescension, / we sing praises to You, O Christ. / You were born of a Virgin / and were inseparable from the Father; / suffered as a man / and voluntarily endured the Cross; / but rose from the grave, / emerging from it as from a palace to save the world. / Lord, glory to You!

Stichera of Easter.

Verse: May God rise again / and may His enemies be scattered.

Easter has been revealed to us today, / a new, holy Easter, / a mysterious Easter, / an all-honorable Easter. / Easter – Christ the Redeemer; / Immaculate Easter, / Great Easter, / Easter of the faithful, / Easter that opens the doors of heaven to us, / Easter that sanctifies all the faithful.

Verse: As smoke disappears, / so let them disappear.

And child, after the vision of the woman who brought good news, / and say to Zion: / “Receive from us the joyful and good news / of the resurrection of Christ” / Rejoice, rejoice / and rejoice, Jerusalem, / having seen the King-Christ as the Bridegroom, / from the coffin coming out.

Verse: So let sinners perish from the presence of God, / and let the righteous rejoice.

The iron-bearing women, / early in the morning, / running to the tomb of the Giver of Life, / found an Angel sitting on a stone, / and he turned to them, saying: / “Why are you looking for the Living One among the dead? / Why do you mourn the Imperishable as perishable? / Return, / tell His disciples about the resurrection.”

Verse: In the day that the Lord has made, / let us rejoice and be glad.

Easter , / Easter, the Lord’s Easter, / the all-honorable Easter, / has shone upon us. Easter, / let's hug each other joyfully. / Oh, Easter, / is deliverance from sorrow, / for today Christ / radiantly came out of the tomb, / as from a bridal chamber, / and rejoiced the myrrh-bearing women, saying: / “Tell the Apostles about the resurrection.”

From lava, and now: On the day of resurrection, / and we will be enlightened by triumph / and we will embrace each other. / let's say: “Brothers!” / and to those who hate us, / we will forgive everything for the sake of the resurrection, / and so we will exclaim: / “Christ has risen from the dead, / trampling down death by death, / and giving life to those in the tombs!” (Three times).

Then there is a kiss, during which it is sung: Christ has risen from the dead...

The rector (priest) comes out, taking St. The cross stands in front of the Royal Doors. And everyone in the church, one by one, comes up and kisses St. Cross and kiss the abbot, saying: Christ is risen, and he answers: Truly risen. At the same time, kissing is performed only with men. Women only kiss St. Cross and bow to the abbot. In exactly the same way, and all among themselves: Men give kisses to men, women to women. Men and women just bow to each other. At the same time, one says: Christ is risen, and the other answers: Truly risen.

After the kiss, the “Catechetical Sermon” by St. John Chrysostom is read. After reading the Troparion, tone 8, to St. John Chrysostom.

And from your lips, like the light of fire, shining grace enlightened the universe; / She did not acquire the treasure of the love of money for the world, / but showed us the height of your humility. / Father John Chrysostom, instructing us with his writings, / pray to the Word, Christ God, for the salvation of our souls.

Then the litanies, intense and pleading: mercy on us, God... and let us call everyone, with all our hearts...

(If there is no clergyman, then the reader says: Lord have mercy (12 rubles). And the choir sings the ending: Christ has risen from the dead...).

Diak: Wisdom .

Chorus: Bless you.

Holy: be the Ever-living One, Christ our God, always, now and continually, and unto ages of ages.

Chorus: A min. In the firmament, God, the holy true Orthodox faith, true Orthodox Christians, forever and ever.

Then, the priest holding the cross, instead of: Glory to Thee, O Christ God: sings: Christ is risen from the dead, / trampling down death by death.

Choir: And to those in the tombs, giving life!

Priest: Oh ’s empty.

Then the priest, blessing the people with the cross, says: Christ is risen! (Three times).

The people answer: Truly risen! (Three times).

And we sing the ending: Christ has risen from the dead... (three times).

And we finish singing: And he gave us eternal life, / we worship his three-day resurrection.
