What morning and evening prayers to read after Easter

Features of reading prayers

It is on these days that the canons to the Savior Christ, the Most Pure Mother of God, to which people are accustomed to pray, are not pronounced. After all, many turn to these saints for help and ask for strength.

Some believers do not know how to read morning and evening prayers from Easter to Ascension. There are points that are very important to pay attention to in order to do everything right.

Main rules:

  • the texts of the Psalter are not read before saying prayers;
  • The troparion must be said three times;
  • no prostrations are made - this only applies to prayers that are read after Easter until the Ascension;
  • You should definitely start reading the evening and morning rules.

Interesting!

For 40 days, all believers remember the Resurrection of Christ. It is important to be grateful while reciting prayers.

To read prayers, it is advisable to visit a church and do it according to all the rules. Of course, you can perform this action at home yourself. However, it is prayer in church together with other people that will charge you with the emotions that are needed.

Prayers for the Ascension of the Lord

Forty days after Easter, the twelfth Orthodox holiday is celebrated - the Ascension of the Lord. Believers remember that after His resurrection, Jesus appeared to the disciples for forty days. He instructed them to preach His teaching to all nations, and after that He ascended into heaven.

The order of church services during the period from the Resurrection of Christ to the Ascension is described in the Triodion - the church book of three-song canons. The rituals of the temple service are filled with new content at this time; Instead of a plea for the forgiveness of sins, words are heard about the triumph of the Savior over death...

Many Orthodox believers are interested in what prayers should be read from Easter to Ascension in 2022. During these 40 days, in 2022 - April 24 to June 2 - the prayer book provides the following rules.

On Bright Week - the first week after Easter - the Easter Hours are read until Saturday morning. This is a repeatedly sung part of the Easter Orthodox service, which includes the troparion and kontakion (short chants that reveal the essence of the holiday).

What prayers to read after Easter until Ascension in the morning and evening?

The Easter Hours at this time replace the First Hour, Third Hour, Sixth Hour, Ninth Hour, Compline, Midnight Office, morning and evening prayers.

The Hours of Holy Pascha The Easter Hours begin with the priest’s call to glorify God: “Blessed is our God always, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.” Then the choir answers: “Amen,” and the Easter troparion follows three times.

Troparion “Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.” (Three times) “Having seen the Resurrection of Christ, let us worship the holy Lord Jesus, the only Sinless One. We worship Your Cross, O Christ, and we sing and glorify Your holy Resurrection. For You are our God, don’t we know anything else; We call Your name. Come, all you faithful, let us worship the holy Resurrection of Christ: behold, through the Cross joy has come to the whole world. Always blessing the Lord, we sing His Resurrection: having endured crucifixion, destroy death by death.” (three times)

Ipakoi “When the morning came about Mary, and the stone was rolled away from the tomb, I heard from the Angel: in the light of the ever-present Being, with the dead, why do you seek as a man? You see the grave linens, and preach to the world that the Lord has risen, the one who put death to death, as he is the Son of God, saving the human race.”

Kontakion “Although you descended into the grave, Immortal, you destroyed the power of hell, and you rose again as the Conqueror, Christ God, telling the myrrh-bearing women: Rejoice!, and grant peace to your apostles, grant resurrection to the fallen. In the tomb carnally, in hell with the soul like God, in paradise with the thief, and on the Throne you were, Christ, with the Father and the Spirit, fulfilling everything, indescribable. Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit: Like the Life-Bearer, like the reddest of Paradise, truly the brightest palace of every king has appeared, O Christ, Thy tomb, the source of our Resurrection. And now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen: Most sanctified Divine village, rejoice: for you have given joy, O Theotokos, to those who call: blessed art thou among women, O All-Immaculate Lady. Lord have mercy". (40 times) “Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen: Most honorable Cherub and most glorious without comparison Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption, the real Mother of God, we magnify You. Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death by death and giving life to those in their tombs.” (three times) “Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Amen".

How to read morning and evening prayers from Easter to Ascension?

All prayers, including thanksgiving for communion, must be preceded by reading the Easter troparion three times: “Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and giving life to those in the tombs.” Psalms and prayers, starting with the Trisagion (“Holy God…”) through “Our Father…”, as well as troparia after it, are not read at this time.

What prayers should you read from Easter to Ascension in 2022? Starting from Monday of the first week of Easter until the Ascension of the Lord, instead of praying to the Holy Spirit (“Heavenly King…”), you need to read the Easter troparion three times (“Christ is risen from the dead…”).

Instead of the prayer “It is worthy to eat,” the Easter kontakion is read: “An angel crying with the Most Grace: Pure Virgin, rejoice! And again the river: Rejoice! Your Son is risen three days from the grave and raised up the dead; people, have fun! Shine, shine, new Jerusalem, for the glory of the Lord is upon you. Rejoice now and be glad, O Zion. You, Pure One, show off, O Mother of God, about the rising of Your Nativity.” And then, from Ascension to Trinity, prayers begin with the Trisagion (“Holy God ...”).

At the end of all the prayers, instead of “It is worthy to eat,” the deserving man is read or sung, which on Easter is the irmos of the ninth song of the Easter canon: “Shine, shine, new Jerusalem...”.

Believers who are preparing for communion from Easter to Ascension, instead of the penitential canon to the Lord Jesus Christ and the canon to the Most Holy Theotokos, should read the canon of Easter and the Follow-up to Holy Communion.

Before the Feast of the Ascension, the usual prayers before and after eating food are replaced by the threefold “Christ is risen from the dead...” and the worthy of Easter, respectively. After eating, instead of “We thank You,” the kontakion “Angel is crying” is read.

Let's continue our story about prayers from Easter to Ascension. From the second week after the Feast of the Resurrection of Christ, believers again read the usual morning and evening prayers.

They return to observing the morning prayer rule, which includes three texts: they read the “Our Father” and “Rejoice to the Virgin Mary” three times, and the Creed once.

The Evening Rule from Easter to Ascension includes an appeal to the Holy Spirit, while “Heavenly King” is replaced by the troparion “Christ is Risen.”

When after Easter do they start reading “The King of Heaven”?

The prayer to the Holy Spirit (“Heavenly King…”) is not read or sung until the holiday of Trinity. According to the Gospel, the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles only 50 days after the Resurrection of Christ - on Trinity. Until this time, according to church regulations, one should also not bow to the ground - neither during services in church, nor during prayer at home.

The following prayers are read on the Ascension of the Lord:

Troparion to the Ascension of the Lord, tone 4 “Thou art exalted in glory, O Christ our God, having brought joy to the disciples by the promise of the Holy Spirit, informed by the former blessing, for Thou art the Son of God, the Redeemer of the world.” Translation: “You ascended in glory, O Christ our God, making your disciples glad with the promise of the Holy Spirit, after Your blessing confirmed them in the belief that You are the Son of God, the Redeemer of the world.”

Kontakion, tone 6 “Having fulfilled your watch over us, and having united us on earth with the heavenly, you ascended in glory, Christ our God, never departing, but remaining persistent, and crying out to those who love You: I am with you, and no one is against you.” Translation: “Having fulfilled the whole plan for our salvation, and having united the earth-born with the inhabitants of heaven, You ascended in glory, Christ our God, not leaving the earth, but remaining inseparably with it and calling out to those who love You: “I am with you, and no one will prevail against you.” !

Further, from the Ascension to Trinity, all prayers begin with the Trisagion: “Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.” This prayer is always said three times, with the sign of the cross and a bow from the waist.

We hope that our article will help you properly observe all the rules from the Holy Feast of Easter to the Ascension of the Lord, and you will spend these days as Orthodox Christians should.

The special mood of believers

After the strictest Lent has ended, you can enjoy your favorite dishes that have not been on the table for so long. Now you can not only gather in a large group, but also celebrate planned holidays. Some of them even had to be rescheduled due to fasting.

Despite all the fun, do not forget about Easter hours instead of morning and evening prayers. Among believers, for another 40 days you can hear, instead of the usual greeting, “Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!” The main thing is to remember the rules that are written in the Triodion, the book of canons.

Throughout Bright Week (7 days, starting from Easter), instead of this rule, the hours of Holy Easter are read.

From Ascension to Trinity, we begin prayers with “Holy God...”, omitting all the preceding ones.

Rising from sleep, before doing anything else, stand reverently, presenting yourself before the All-Seeing God, and, making the sign of the cross, say:

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Then wait a little until all your feelings come to silence and your thoughts leave everything earthly, and then say the following prayers, without haste and with heartfelt attention:

Publican's Prayer

(Gospel of Luke, chapter 18, verse 13)

Troparia Trinity

Having risen from sleep, we fall down to Thee, the Good One, and cry out to Thee, the Mightier, the angelic song: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O God, have mercy on us through the Mother of God.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. From bed and sleep You have raised me up, O Lord, enlighten my mind and heart, and open my lips to sing to You, Holy Trinity: Holy, Holy, Holy, O God, have mercy on us through the Mother of God.

And now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Suddenly the Judge will come, and every deed will be exposed, but with fear we call at midnight: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O God, have mercy on us by the Mother of God.

Lord have mercy. ( 12 times

).

Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity

Having risen from sleep, I thank Thee, Holy Trinity, for for the sake of Thy goodness and long-suffering, Thou hast not been angry with me, lazy and sinful, nor hast Thou destroyed me with my iniquities; but you usually loved mankind and in the despair of the one who lay down, you raised me up to practice and glorify Your power. And now enlighten my mental eyes, open my lips to learn Thy words, and to understand Thy commandments, and to do Thy will, and to sing to Thee in heartfelt confession, and to sing Thy all-holy name, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages. centuries. Amen.

Come, let us worship our King God. ( Bow

)

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God. ( Bow

)

Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God. ( Bow

)

Psalm 50

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; for I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me. To You alone have I sinned and done evil before You; for you may be justified in all of Your words, and you will always triumph over Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have revealed to me the unknown and secret wisdom of Yours. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. My hearing brings joy and joy; humble bones will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me. Reward me with the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; My tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a broken and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; Then they will place the bullock on Your altar.

Prayer 1, Saint Macarius the Great

God, cleanse me, a sinner, for I have done nothing good before You; but deliver me from the evil one, and Thy will be done in me, that I may open my unworthy lips without condemnation and praise Thy holy name. Father and Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 2, of the same saint

Rising from sleep, I bring the midnight hymn to Ti, Savior, and falling down crying to Ti: do not let me fall asleep in a sinful death, but be gracious to me, crucified by will, and hasten me lying in laziness, and save me in standing and in prayer, and in sleep Rise up nightly for me a sinless day, O Christ God, and save me.

Prayer 3, of the same saint

To You, Lord, Lover of Mankind, having risen from sleep, I come running, and I strive for Your works with Your mercy, and I pray to You: help me at all times, in every thing, and deliver me from all worldly evil things and the devil’s haste, and save me, and bring us into Your eternal Kingdom. For You are my Creator and the Provider and Giver of all good, in You are all my hope, and I send up glory to You, now and ever and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 4, of the same saint

Lord, Who through Your many goodness and Your great bounty has given me, Your servant, the passing time of this night without misfortune to pass away from all evil that is contrary to me; You Yourself, Master, the Creator of all things, grant me with Your true light and an enlightened heart to do Your will, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 5, St. Basil the Great

Lord Almighty, God of hosts and all flesh, living in the highest and looking down on the humble, testing the hearts and wombs and innermost parts of men, the fore-foreseen One, the Beginningless and Ever-Everlasting Light, with Him there is no change or overshadowing; Himself, Immortal King, accept our prayers, even now, boldly in response to Your multitude of bounties, we create from bad lips towards You, and forgive us our sins, whether in deed, word, and thought, knowledge, or ignorance, we have sinned; and cleanse us from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. And grant us with a cheerful heart and a sober thought to pass through the whole night of this present life, awaiting the coming of the bright and revealed day of Your Only Begotten Son, the Lord and God and our Savior Jesus Christ, when the Judge of all will come with glory, to whom he will give to each according to his deeds. Let us not fall and become lazy, but be watchful and lifted up into the work that is to be found, and prepare for the joy and Divine palace of His glory, where those who celebrate the unceasing voice and the ineffable sweetness of those who behold Your face, the ineffable kindness. For You are the true Light, you enlighten and sanctify all things, and all creation sings to You forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 6th, of the same saint

Let us bless you, O highest God and Lord of mercy, who always does great and unexplored, glorious and terrible things to us, countless in number, who has given us sleep for the repose of our weakness, and the weakening of the labors of the arduous flesh. We thank Thee, for Thou didst not destroy us with our iniquities, but Thou didst usually love mankind, and in desperation, Thou didst raise us up to glorify Thy power. In the same way, we pray for Your immeasurable goodness, enlighten our thoughts, our eyes, and raise our minds from the heavy sleep of laziness: open our lips, and fulfill Your praise, so that we can unwaveringly sing and confess to You, in all, and from all, to the glorified God, To the Beginningless Father, with Your Only Begotten Son, and Your All-Holy and Good and Life-Giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 7, to the Blessed Virgin Mary

I sing Thy grace, O Lady, I pray to Thee, my mind is filled with grace. Go right and teach me the path of Christ’s commandments. Strengthen your children to songs, driving away despondency and sleep. Bound by the captivity of the Falls, allow me through Your prayers, Bride of God. Preserve me in the night and in the day, delivering me to those who fight against the enemy. She who gave birth to God, the life-giver, was killed by my passions and revived. Who gave birth to the non-evening Light, enlighten my blind soul. O wondrous Lady of the Palace, create for me the house of the Divine Spirit. You who gave birth to a doctor, heal my soul of many years of passion. Worried by the storm of life, guide me towards the path of repentance. Deliver me from eternal fire, and from evil worms, and from tartar. Do not show me joy as a demon, who is guilty of many sins. Create me again, having promised to be insensible, Immaculate, without sin. Show me the strangeness of all kinds of torment, and implore the Lord to all. Heavenly grant me joy with all the saints. Most Holy Virgin, hear the voice of Your indecent servant. Give me tears. Most Pure One, you cleanse the filthiness of my soul. I bring lamentations from my heart to You continually, be zealous, Lady. Accept my prayer service and bring it to the blessed God. Transcending Angel, create me above the fusion of the world. Light-bearing heavenly Seine, direct spiritual grace in me. I lift up my hand and my lips to praise, defiled by filth, O All-Immaculate One. Deliver me from the dirty tricks that are strangling me, diligently begging Christ; To Him is due honor and worship, now and ever, and forever and ever, amen.

Prayer 8, to our Lord Jesus Christ

My most merciful and all-merciful God, Lord Jesus Christ, for the sake of love you came down and became incarnate for many reasons, so that you would save everyone. And again, Savior, save me by grace, I pray to You. Even if you save me from works, there is no grace and a gift, but more than a duty. Hey, abundant in generosity and ineffable in mercy! Believe in Me, you say, O my Christ, you will live and will not see death forever. Even if faith in You saves the desperate, behold, I believe, save me, for You are my God and Creator. Let faith be credited to me instead of works. My God, you will not find any works that will justify me. But may my faith prevail instead of all, may it answer, may it justify me, may it show me to be a partaker of Your eternal glory. Let Satan not kidnap me, and boast to the Word that he has torn me from Your hand and fence; but either I want, save me, or I don’t want, O Christ my Savior, let me soon, I will soon perish: For you are my God from my mother’s womb. Grant me, O Lord, now to love Thee, as sometimes I have loved that same sin; and again work for You without laziness, just as you worked before the flattering Satan. Above all, I will serve You, my Lord and God Jesus Christ, all the days of my life, now and ever, and forever and ever, amen.

Prayer 9, to the Guardian Angel

Holy Angel, standing before my accursed soul and my passionate life, do not leave me, a sinner, nor depart from me for my intemperance. Do not give room to the evil demon to possess me through the violence of this mortal body. Strengthen my poor and thin hand and guide me on the path of salvation. To her, holy Angel of God, guardian and patron of my accursed soul and body, forgive me all that I have offended you so greatly all the days of my life, and if I sinned this past night, cover me on this day, and save me from every opposite temptation, Let me not anger God in any sin, and pray for me to the Lord, that He may strengthen me in His passion, and show me worthy as a servant of His goodness. Amen.

Prayer 10, to the Most Holy Theotokos

My Most Holy Lady Theotokos, with Your saints and all-powerful prayers, take away from me, Your humble and cursed servant, despondency, oblivion, foolishness, negligence, and all the nasty, evil and blasphemous thoughts from my cursed heart and from my darkened mind. And extinguish the flame of my passions, for I am poor and damned. And deliver me from many and cruel memories and enterprises, and free me from all evil actions. For Thou art blessed from all generations, and glorified is Thy most honorable name forever and ever. Amen.

And in the first place, remember Your Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, which You have provided with Your venerable Blood, and establish, and strengthen, and expand, multiply, pacify, and preserve the insurmountable gates of hell forever; Calm the tearing of the Churches, quench the pagan vacillations, and quickly destroy and eradicate the heresies of rebellion, and convert them into nothingness by the power of Your Holy Spirit.

Church confession

Only those Christians who confessed before Easter and have not committed sins in their lives can be admitted to Communion before the Ascension without confession, which takes place in church.

Believers do not always know what to read from Easter to Ascension instead of morning and evening prayers. You can repent of your sins during prayer, which will be read at home, if a believer practices this.

Note!

You can always confess in a church or temple. To do this, you just need to ask a priest for help.

Morning prayers from Antipascha to Trinity

Having risen without laziness, and having become sober, having risen from sleep, these words:

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Therefore, wait a little in silence until all your feelings calm down: and then make three bows, saying:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Start the same way:

Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, have mercy on us, amen.

From Easter to Ascension, troparion of Easter, tone 5:

Christ rose from the dead, / trampling death over death, / and giving life to those in the tombs. (three times)

From Ascension to Trinity, we immediately begin the Trisagion:

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. Three times.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our iniquities; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name's sake.

Psalm 50:

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your compassions, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; For I know my iniquity, and I will bear away my sin before me. I have sinned against You alone and have done evil before You, so that You may be justified in Your words and triumph over Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have shown me Your unknown and secret wisdom. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. There is joy and gladness in my ears; the bones of the humble will rejoice. Turn away Your face from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create a pure heart in me, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Give me the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked your way, and wickedness will turn to you. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; my tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a contrite and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then take pleasure in the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; then they will place your calf on the altar.

From Easter to Ascension, instead of this prayer, the chorus and irmos of the 9th song of the Easter canon are read:

The angel cried out with more grace: Pure Virgin, rejoice! And again I say: Rejoice! Your Son has risen three days from the grave and raised up the dead; people, have fun!

Shine, shine, new Jerusalem, for the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. Rejoice now and be glad, O Zion. You, Pure One, rejoice, O Mother of God, about the rise of Your Nativity.

From Ascension to Trinity, It is worthy to eat as usual:

It is worthy to eat as you truly bless Theotokos, Ever-Blessed and Most Immaculate and Mother of our God. The most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, who gave birth to the Word of God without corruption, we magnify Thee, the real Mother of God

Also: Glory, and now: Lord, have mercy, three times.

And let go.

Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, prayers for the sake of Your Most Pure Mother, our reverend and God-bearing fathers and all the saints, save me, a sinner.

Easter hours

Throughout Bright Week, instead of morning and even evening prayers, Easter hours are sung. If a believer does not want to chant prayers, then, of course, they can be read. However, their peculiarity, which makes the prayers unique, will be violated. After all, when singing they even sound different. Internal sensations also change.

Interesting!

With these prayers, believers remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who was the poorest stranger on Earth. However, it was he who was delivered from sin and was able to ascend to God.

Believers from Easter to Ascension should be in a state that will be like radiance. After all, with prayers a person can only spread light, joy, happiness and prosperity. It is important to think not only about yourself these days, but also about your loved ones who may need help.

Morning prayers. The text with accents can be read and listened to.

Morning prayers are read by Schema-Archimandrite Iliy (Nozdrin) and Hierodeacon Iliodor (Garyants) (Optina Pustyn). Translation and interpretation of morning prayers

About the living

Remember, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, your mercy and generosity from all eternity, for whose sake you became human, and crucifixion and death, for the salvation of those who believe in you, you endured you deigned; and rose from the dead, you ascended into heaven and sit at the right hand of God the Father, and listen to the humble prayers of those who call upon You with all their hearts: incline Your ear, and hear the humble prayer of me e, Thy unnecessary servant, into the stench of the spiritual fragrance, brought to Thee for all Thy people . And first of all, remember Your Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, which You have provided with Your honest Blood, and established, and strengthened, and expanded, multiplied, died, and invincible hell preserve the new gates forever; Calm the tearing apart of the Churches, quench the pagan vacillations, and quickly destroy and eradicate the heresies of rebellion, and turn them into nothingness by the power of Your Holy Spirit. (Bow)

Save, Lord, and have mercy on our God-protected country, its authorities and army, protect their power with peace, and subdue under the nose of the Orthodox every enemy and adversary, and the words peaceful and good in the hearts them about Your Holy Church, and about all Your people: yes Let us live a quiet and silent life in orthodoxy, and in all piety and purity. (Bow)

Translation and interpretation of morning prayers

Prayers at home

To follow all the rules, it is not necessary to visit the temple at this time. The main thing is that all prayers come from the heart. What prayers should you read from Easter to Ascension at home? You are allowed to read the troparion of Easter several times a day (“Christ is risen from the dead...”). This prayer is a wonderful replacement for the prayer to the Holy Spirit that many are accustomed to. For some, it has become commonplace, but it is worth replacing for a while.

These days you should not remember Jesus Christ as a man who was killed. Thoughts must be bright. After all, he was not just executed. After this, Jesus was able to defeat death, which seemed inevitable.

Christ

Morning prayers

God, be merciful to me, a sinner. (Bow).

Initial prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, prayers for the sake of Your Most Pure Mother and all the saints, have mercy on us. Amen.

Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

(From Easter to Ascension, instead of this prayer, the Easter troparion is read. Three times.)

Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.

Trisagion

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.

(Read three times, with the sign of the cross and a bow from the waist).

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity

Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us;

Lord, cleanse our sins;

Master, forgive our iniquities;

Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name's sake.

Lord have mercy. (Thrice)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

(12 times).

(Bow)

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God. (Bow)

Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God. (Bow)

Amen.
