Reading rules
The Akathist to the Annunciation for private reading is read in front of the icon with the same name. Prayer should only be said while standing (with the exception of the weak and sick people). In front of the image they light a consecrated candle and sign themselves with the sign of the cross.
If the akathist is read during the morning or evening rule, then the prayer begins before the words “It is worthy to eat...”.
At the end of the prayer, they make the sign of the cross again, bow at the waist, and extinguish the candle. The hymn of praise is supposed to be read for 40 days. To accomplish a spiritual feat, you must receive the blessing of the priest. You cannot interrupt reading. You can take breaks during the day, but you cannot stop before forty days. During Holy Week, the Akathist to the Annunciation is not read.
