Mountainous or hilly land, cave
Hills and mountains are a symbol of consciousness, areas of the brain convolutions that are high or low.
A crack in the ground is a window into the subconscious of the unknown essence of every person. A dragon lives in the rift, at least his head is definitely there. To defeat this snake, you need to consciously find the entrance to your subconscious and solve your psychological problems, mental complexes, tendencies towards ineffective behavior patterns, etc.
The peculiar-looking earth in the form of stepped chopped layers reminded me in some places of the tablets of Moses, in some places of the feet of Buddha, and in others of the petrified sea. Which together gave the concept that the earth of the human mind works on the principle of God’s Law , it can be “defeated” through Spiritual Awakening and it is necessary to turn unstable mental anxiety into stable peace.
Winged serpent, dragon, basilisk
The dragon is an earthly limitation, the earthly weakness of man, the natural and physiological tendency of man to endlessly violate the Harmony of the Divine Law. What a journey in life through the vicissitudes of Disharmony or Fate entails.
The serpent is the unobvious shackles of man, and this is blind reliance on the impulses of his disharmonious physiology and psychology . And this, in turn, leads to delusions, incorrect conclusions and actions.
The biblical serpent invites Adam and Eve (the androgynous mind) to evolve through the inaccessible knowledge of the bipolar conflict of the mind. Which subsequently made the androgynous mind, if successful, qualitative in thinking. The mind, trained in the knowledge of extremes, having gone through the experience of being separated from Spiritual Guidance and having regained it, becomes the Mind of a Real Man or the Son of God. This is the receipt of divine-human properties in correct performance. But in case of failure during earthly life, the mind is sent for rebirth with zeroed memory in order to repeat its adventure (the symbol of ouroboros - the snake bites its tail) and so on until the “Victory End”.
When you know that your earthly life has meaning beyond just life and survival, then a persistent goal arises to test the theory of “Victory” by the end of your life. For the prospect of endless rebirth without memory seems to be a severe punishment for sadomasochism. And that’s only because you again didn’t believe in the theory of “Victorious Salvation,” which is talked about everywhere - architecture, paintings, books, folklore, media products.
We people, as personal mental androgynes, are invited to go through Hell and feel all the salt and bitterness of earthly ordeals in order to reveal and cultivate divine qualities in ourselves. The difference between a creator and a non-creator is that the Creator can and knows how to create without doing anything. Our planet Earth in current conditions is a great place to try yourself in all mortal (killing humanity) sins and learn to cope with them. Everyone's task is to defeat their dragon by taming it.
The image of the serpent is also closely connected with the earth and the symbol of stone. Essentially a serpent = raw building stone. The Masons “Freemasons” call themselves that because, following the path of magic (changing something in accordance with the will), they eradicate ignorance in themselves (the rawness of the stone), and cut it with knowledge and practical experience into the shining “Philosopher’s Stone”. It's called - create yourself or build yourself.
The legendary feat of St. George the Victorious has become an iconic image of a horseman killing a snake
The image of George killing the serpent is based on the legend of the miracles of the great martyr. A terrible monster has appeared in the lake of the city of Beirut, eating the townspeople and devastating the crops.
To pay off the evil monster, the residents decided to sacrifice the king’s daughter to him. The brave warrior stood up for the monster’s chosen one, crossed himself, prayed and struck the snake with one blow of his spear.
Painting by Paolo Uccello “The Battle of St. George with the Serpent”
By killing the black snake, St. George the Victorious saved the princess from certain death, for which he became famous not only in the countries of the East, but also in Europe. The English king declared the martyr his patron.
City, People, Woman holding a dragon or standing near it
In the original historical version, the woman is a princess captured by a certain enemy who is terrorizing the land and the kingdom of a certain pagan king in Beirut (trans. well, abyss). However, when rethought, it looks with a different meaning.
In the presented samples of paintings, we see how the crowned woman has a connection with the dragon, which can be seen from the rope. The woman and the dragon depend on each other and need each other for some kind of compensation.
- To me, a woman seems to be the psyche or creative potential of a person. She is, as it were, a hostage of the dragon, but also, as it were, his involuntary mistress.
- The city in the background is the construction of the mind in the human brain - thinking patterns, algorithms, clichés, concepts.
- People on the walls of the city are thoughts, service personnel of thinking of different hierarchies.
The woman is the guardian and head of the human city in the background. She is the Queen of the Earth - mental sanity, the queen of the mind. Her city or kingdom is the Earthly or cerebral kingdom.
The woman worries about the monster, since she is responsible for its existence. The necessity of evil or sin in the Earthly Kingdom is a necessity. No matter how much the Victorious defeats the creature, it is still immortal. In fact, it cannot be killed, only pacified with a spear of “intention” (the preferred option) or driven into a fissure in the ground by the “subconscious” (less preferable). So the woman is worried about what the Victorious will do - balance himself or ban his dark side in the abyss well. Indeed, in the latter option, this is what other residents in the city usually do, contemplating what is happening from the towers, like the inertia of mental patterns without meaningfulness and thoughtfulness.
The captive princess is an allusion to various myths and legends about the descent into Hell or Hades, the Underground Kingdom of the Dead (and the same Persephone, Ishtar, Orpheus, etc.). The princess is the first half of a person’s life, and George is the second. That is, there is a need to go through your dark essence for some time, to know it “from” to “before”, and then to go through the ascent of your soul and victory over the serpent.
George renounced power and chose death for the true faith
Dying, George did not stop praying. The Lord appeared to him again and kissed him and placed the crown of a martyr on him.
The emperor then offered the saint to become a co-ruler and renounce the Christian faith, or his head would be cut off. George refused the offer and put his head under a sharp sword.
Icon of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious “The Miracle of George about the Serpent with a Life in 16 Marks.” 17th century
The saint died at the beginning of the 4th century. The life of the holy great martyr was short-lived, so a brief summary of his righteous life was contained in several paragraphs. However, his biography will be fascinating for both children and adults.
White horse
- The symbolism of the horse is a kind of swift force, crossing, zeal, impulse, human will. In other meanings, it symbolizes fertility, courage and power.
- White color is purity and purity, innocence, infallibility, righteousness.
- The white horse is wisdom, spiritual nobility, light of enlightenment, agility, quickness of thought. It is also a circumscribed, subjugated will of one’s own, which makes it easy to operate and move through life. Also, this image is an ancient symbol of the cyclical development of the world of phenomena, the cosmic forces of curbing decency.
The horse is also the embodiment of the god Agni. He is the god of fire, a mediator between the two worlds, accompanying the souls of the dead (calmed) into the heavens (into the conscious study of the higher life of their mind). The white horse is a sign of the sun and life, the black horse is a sign of the moon and death. The horse takes you to the afterlife (subconscious).
In some paintings, the horse of the Victorious is black or colored, but most often the horse is white. The black and white horse is a reference to the caduceus of Hermes, as well as the Sephiroth and Qliphoth . You can also read about colored horses in the Arcana Tarot - Lovers, there is a decoding of the symbolism of the horsemen of the Apocalypse . Apparently, in order to collect the full meaning of any picture, you need to look at a maximum of options for one image in different symbolic uses.
The Orthodox Church remembers Saint George three times a year
The Russian Orthodox Church celebrates St. George's Day on May 6 (April 23, old style). On this day in 303, the Great Martyr George was executed.
Orthodox Georgia celebrates the special day of remembrance of the Saint, November 10, as the day of the wheeling of the holy great martyr. In 1891, in the Georgian village of Kakha, a temple was built in honor of St. George the Victorious. People of different faiths flock to this temple to honor the memory of the saint.
Life, fragment of the wheeling of St. George the Victorious. Pantokrator Monastery, Athos, 17th century
On November 16, the consecration of the Church of the Great Martyr George in Lydda took place, where the relics of the saint are located, and the chain in which he was chained during torture. On this day, the Russian Orthodox Church also remembers the Saint.
On December 9 (November 26) we remember the consecration of the Kyiv Church of St. George.
Figure of the Victorious
St. George the Victorious is considered a Christian holy Great Martyr. Even if the figure was historical, then its symbolism was also taken for the sake of politics from other prototypes, for example, the Archangel Michael defeating Lucifer or the same Jesus fighting the temptations of the devil. Perhaps there is something similar from other religions. For example, Hercules defeats the Hydra.
The general meaning of George killing a certain creature is a symbol of courage and spiritual victory over the tormentor or tormentors who could not force him to abandon his path. Usually Christianity is meant, but comes from “Christ” - the Law of God’s Word or Name IHVH, or simply Harmony. For this and for his miraculous help to people in danger, George is called the Victorious.
Defeated evil ceases to be evil. Righteousness overcomes sin and balances it without destroying it. Freedom of choice remains even after curbing your passions, and what you will do next is always up to you to decide. Essentially, here weakness turns into strength, the Sephiroth are cleansed of the dark energy of the Qliphoth. Man ceases to be his own enemy and becomes filled with the Grail or polished with the Philosopher's Stone.
I also associate the Victorious with the transfigured Jesus Christ after his resurrection (trans. Salvation Harmony).
George stood up for Christians and confessed the Lord in the presence of the emperor
The emperor was an ardent supporter of paganism; he went down in history as one of the cruelest oppressors of Christians. Once, having heard the verdict about the torn apart of Christians, the Great Martyr George was imbued with spiritual compassion for them.
Fragment of the life of St. George the Victorious. Great Martyr George before the Tsars
He distributed all his property to the poor, gave freedom to his slaves, and when he came to the emperor, he confessed his faith in Christ. Diocletian forced the warrior to renounce the Lord, but the saint again and again confessed the true faith.
Shield or pattern on clothing with sun and, or cross
The sun shield is again a reference to Jesus Christ (Saving Harmony) and another occult meaning associated with him. Your sunshine is your protection, your well-being, physical and mental health. The one who conquers the fear of knowing oneself will conquer everyone, for it inspires horror for others (the ignorant).
The shield-cross, apart from Christhood, is another variation of the same spiritual balance. Balance and ideal balance within oneself protect from the vicissitudes of fate and grant stability on the earthly changeable waters of life, its shaky soils.
Spear piercing monster
This is the same spear as on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ (Saving Harmony), only here it has the opposite meaning. Here our Victorious Jesus is in a state of resurrection and he controls the spear, and it is not the spear that paralyzes his will. This means that in his hands there is no longer doubt and a challenge to higher powers, but a divine intention to overcome his weaknesses.
Here one takes one’s life into one’s hands in the literal sense, here one accepts one’s fate and bravely resolves to fulfill one’s true destiny, here the fate of a permanent loser changes to the fate of a lucky one in any situation. The spear is a lever with which you turn your inner world, views and self-application over. What was previously considered shackles and a pit of destruction is now a means to the Top.
George was born and raised in a Christian family
Saint George the Victorious was born into a wealthy Christian family in the Palestinian city of Beirut (Belit), in the Lebanese Mountains. Even as a boy, he was distinguished by incredible courage and intelligence.
Great Martyr George, icon, first third of the 16th century
Father George died a painful death for his faith. The boy was raised by his mother. In his adolescence, George entered service in the Roman army. Soon Emperor Diocletian noticed him and accepted him into the imperial guard.
Swan on the head of George
A swan on the head or otherwise used in the picture. Basically, George and the swan are found in large quantities in Neuschwanstein Castle (trans. white swan stone) in Germany. The swan is a symbol of the magician. Also, the white swan is a symbol of rebirth, purity, chastity, proud loneliness, nobility, wisdom, prophetic abilities, poetry and courage, perfection. But most importantly, the swan is a symbol of sincerity, which is higher than the self-interest of the dragon. To defeat a dragon you must have similar qualities.
There are ideas about the ability of the soul to wander through the sky in the form of a swan. Combining two elements: air and water, the swan is a bird of life, and at the same time can personify death. In this regard, the contrast in myths and fairy tales between white and black swans (life - death, good - evil) is interesting. A person with pure thoughts is worthy of the true Grail; Neuschwanstein Castle is also full of his images.
In Ancient India there is “a pair of swans who are Ham and Sa, living in the consciousness of the Great One and feeding only on the honey of the blossoming lotus of knowledge.” The bird Hamsa, or Kalahansa, is “The Swan in Space and Time.” It is also an attribute of the god Brahma - a symbolic bird that drops an egg into Chaos, which turns into the Universe ( a reference to the egg on the crucifixion of Christ ).
Swans also symbolize inhalation and exhalation , breath and spirit. Brahma, the supreme three-faced deity of the Hindu creation, rides on a swan, goose or pheasant. The swan is also associated with the sun; Thus, in the Taittiriya Brahmana, a certain rishi (sage), by the power of his knowledge, turns into a golden swan, flies to the sky and unites with the sun.
The black and white swan, like the horse, is a reference to the caduceus of Hermes, as well as the Sephiroth and Qliphoth .
Miracle with the serpent that happened to the Holy Great Martyr George
Christ is Risen! Happy Feast of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious!
Happy Saint George the Victorious, one of our people’s favorite saints. Many St. Georges glorified the Russian land. Among them is the great commander Georgy Zhukov. Starting from the 13th century, the image of St. George defeating the serpent appears on the seals of the Grand Dukes, and then it becomes the state emblem of Russia.
On November 26, 1769, the Order of St. George was established. It was awarded to the commanders P. A. Rumyantsev, G. A. Potemkin, A. V. Suvorov, M. I. Kutuzov, M. B. Barclay de Tolly. Tsar-martyr Nicholas II was awarded the Order of the 4th degree. In the Grand Kremlin Palace there is the St. George Hall, where the names of holders of the Order of St. George are carved on marble plaques.
We see the image of St. George on the icons, as a warrior crushing a fierce serpent. You will find out what this is connected with if you read an excerpt from an ancient Russian story translated by Vladimir Kolesov.
Miracle with the serpent that happened to the Holy Great Martyr George
... In ancient times there was a city called Ebal, in the land of Palestine, and it was very large, and many people lived in it; and all worshiped idols... turned away... from God, and God turned away from them.
Near this city there was a large lake... God rewarded them for their faith and deeds: a huge serpent appeared in this lake and, coming out of the lake, ate the inhabitants of this city. He killed some with his whistle, while others, suffocating, dragged them into the lake. And there was great sorrow and inconsolable crying in that city because of this beast.
One day all the inhabitants of this city gathered and went to their king, saying: “What are we going to do, since we are perishing evil from this serpent?” The king answered them: “Everything that the gods told me, I proclaim to you... let each of you daily give his son or daughter to be eaten by a snake in his turn, until my time comes: I will also give my only daughter”... And Having retired, they one by one fulfilled the royal command, starting with the main princes and down to the most humble ones, daily giving their children as food to the snake on the shore of the lake...
When all the inhabitants gave up their children... calling his only daughter, the king dressed her in a scarlet robe and, kissing her and mourning bitterly, ordered her to be taken to her death to the serpent...
The holy and great martyr, sufferer for the faith of Christ, George, a warrior honored by the Heavenly King, who lived even after death... by God's will... The Great Martyr at that very hour found himself in that place in the form of a simple warrior, coming from battle and hurrying to his native place.
Seeing a young woman on the shore of the lake, the great and glorious martyr George asked her, saying: “Why are you standing here, young woman?” She answered him: “Get away, my lord, from here, quickly leave so as not to die cruelly.” Answering, Saint George said to the young woman: “What are you talking about, girl, are there robbers here or something else?” The young woman said: “There is a terrible serpent here, nesting in this lake; Now I beg you, my lord, get away from here: I see your pleasant appearance, and the youth, and the shine, and the beauty of your face, and I beg you: get away from here quickly, so as not to perish cruelly.”
...Hearing this, the great martyr... said: “Do not be afraid, young woman!” And then, looking up to heaven, the servant of God prayed, saying: “Beginless, life-giving, God of the whole world, who has neither end nor beginning, who created times and years... show me Your former mercies, and cast this fierce beast to at my feet, let them see and let everyone believe that You alone are God, and besides You, we know no other.” And as soon as the holy and great martyr George said this, a voice was heard from heaven, saying: “George, be bold, your voice will not remain in vain when you ask.”
Suddenly the girl cried out, saying: “Run away, man, from here: now the snake is coming whistling.” And then, retreating slightly, the sufferer for the faith of Christ, Saint George, saw how a huge serpent appeared from the churning lake, raised his head like a vault, and opened his mouth like an abyss, and with a roar he went at the saint and the maiden. But immediately, having drawn the sign of Christ on the ground, Saint George said: “In the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, submit, you cruel beast, and follow me.” And immediately, by the power of God and the great martyr George, a terrible snake fell at his feet.
And the holy and great martyr George said to the young woman: “Take off your belt and the reins of my horse and tie the head of the serpent with them, drag him and go to the city.” She did what the saint and great martyr for the faith of Christ, George, told her to do. And that terrible snake followed her, dragging along the ground like a sheep to the slaughter. The young woman dragged him along, rejoicing and having fun.
The king, her father, and her mother that day wept and wept greatly for this young woman. But, suddenly seeing the young woman dragging a snake, and the miracle worker saint, great martyr and passion-bearer George walking ahead, being terribly frightened, they began to run. The holy and great martyr for the faith of Christ and wonderworker George exclaimed in a loud voice, saying: “Do not be afraid! If you believe in Christ, in whom I believe, you will now see your salvation.” The king, coming out to meet him, said to him: “What is your name, my lord?” He answered: “They call me George.” Then the people exclaimed all as one, saying: “Through you we believe in the one God Almighty and in the one Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Life-giving Spirit.” Then the holy and great wonderworker George, stretching out his hand, drew his sword and cut off the head of the fierce beast. Seeing all this, the king and all the inhabitants immediately approached and bowed to him, giving praise to God and His saint, the great wonderworker George.
And the king ordered to build a church in the name of... the great martyr and sufferer for the faith of Christ George and decorated that church with gold and silver and expensive stones. And he commanded to commemorate him in the month of April on the twenty-third day.
Saint George, pray to God for us!
There are many St. George churches on the Russian land. To this day, in them and in many other Orthodox churches, pilgrims chant: “As the liberator of captives and the protector of the poor, the physician of the infirm, the champion of kings, the victorious Great Martyr George, pray to Christ God to save our souls.”
Great Martyr George the Victorious - life
Crown or angel with crown over George's head
This is a reference to the divine triangle ( Kether, Hochma, Binah ), as well as specifically to the Sephira Kether (translated as crown, crown). This is the power of the personal Higher Immortal Self over the mind of the earthly George (human farmer). Essentially it means the sanity and adequacy of the actions of the Victorious.
Hand from heaven with Christ gesture
The hand of Christ (it is usually written there that it is his) in a special gesture points to the Victorious. It happens sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right. This gesture is the mudra of Life. It means "World Teaching about Life", or God's Law. That is, about the true meaning of Christianity - an indication of the Right or Left path to pass, depending on its use in the picture. Unfortunately, the typical interpretations of clergy are far from sane content.
The Mudra of Life itself , if practiced with both hands (think multidimensionally!) for 40 minutes a day, equalizes the energy potential of the entire body and helps strengthen its vitality. This increases performance, gives vigor, endurance, and improves overall well-being.
- Indications for use: conditions of rapid fatigue, impotence, visual impairment, improves visual acuity, treatment of eye disease.
- Execution technique: the pads of the ring finger, little finger and thumb are connected together, and the remaining ones are freely straightened. It is performed with both hands at the same time, since the fingers are relaxed, in almost all people they do not straighten completely.
The Emperor subjected Saint George to cruel torture for his faith in Christ.
The ruler then ordered to subject the saint to painful torture. They threw the warrior into prison, his feet were shackled in heavy stocks, and a block of stone was placed on his chest. St. George the Victorious bravely endured the torment, continuing to glorify the Lord.
Fragment of life. St. George the Victorious in stocks. Icon, Bulgaria, National Historical Museum. 17th century
The executioners beat the unfortunate man with ox whips, threw his naked body into quicklime, and wheeled him on the wheel, but they could not break his true faith; the saint continued to call on the Lord for help.
