I was 34 years old when I first became pregnant. But my husband and I didn’t have to rejoice for long. I was in my second month, and the doctor, after performing an ultrasound, authoritatively stated: “Your fetus has frozen, there is no heartbeat, you need to take radical measures. Otherwise, it could be fatal for you.”

Swallowing back tears, I went to the hospital. There, the doctor managing my pregnancy sadly shook her head and confirmed the terrible diagnosis. I was given full anesthesia, and the doctors got to work. I woke up already in the ward. “A little, long-awaited man lived inside me for six whole weeks, and he was gone,” such thoughts tormented my already desperate soul.

We named our daughter Daria - this name translates as “gift of God” and “winner.” After all, thanks to the power of God, she actually won the battle for life.

Fatima miracle

In the small Portuguese town of Fatima, a little more than a hundred years ago, a real miracle happened. The Virgin Mary appeared to three children who were tending sheep for six months. She instructed them to convey her three messages for humanity.

Miracle in Zeitoun

In a suburb of the Egyptian capital Cairo, which is called Zeitoun, an amazing miracle occurred - the appearance of the Virgin Mary. But why in Egypt, because Islam is preached there? Maybe in order to support the few Christians who find it so difficult to live surrounded by Muslims?

In 1925, a snow-white five-domed Christian church was built in Zeytun, over which a luminous image of the Virgin Mary appeared in April 1968. She was kneeling on the church dome, facing the cross.

For three years she appeared above the temple. She was seen by thousands of pilgrims who gathered every day under the walls of the church. Sometimes people saw bright lights or white doves, but most often the Mother of God herself appeared, dressed in a luminous robe of blue and pink.

At first only Egyptians came to the temple, but then pilgrims from all over the world began to come. Everyone wanted to see the miracle of the appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Many then received healing. People prayed, each in their own language and according to their own custom, but everyone praised the Lord and the Mother of God.

And the cooperators, perhaps good-naturedly, laughed at me: some were bringing butter to Moscow, some flour, some lard, and Comrade Dobrovolsky - the Kaluga Mother of God.

When I got home and took off the paper, I was very interested. Marusya, of course, without understanding, wrapped the Most Pure Face with pages from the calendar of the cross. Large format, they covered the icon well. But what was remarkable: on the pages that covered the icon, portraits and an article were printed - biographical information and a presentation of the teachings of one of our Russian ascetics - St. Ignatius Brianchaninov, about whom I knew nothing before.

The Mother of God did not leave my last request. In Her icon She remained with me and pointed me to St. Ignatius as a mentor in my spiritual struggle.
