Dua of the Prophet Yunus: in what life situations is it read?

Believers often have questions about which dua is more suitable for a particular case. It seems that some believers mistake dua as a kind of spell that magically helps in certain cases. The Almighty welcomes when believers turn to him with requests, and, according to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Allah is angry with those who do not ask him. But you also need to be able to ask the Almighty, so there are certain rules of etiquette for prayer that Muslim believers need to know.

Dua is a request or prayer addressed to Allah - this follows from the translation of this word from Arabic. Whether the prayer is said out loud or whether a person says it silently, mentally, it does not matter to Allah - the Koran says that God always knows what is in a person’s heart. With the help of prayer, such a connection with the Creator is established by the believer.

The Prophet of Muhammad ﷺ said that dua is useful both for what will happen and for what has already happened. By turning to Allah, a Muslim will either immediately receive from the Almighty what he asks for, or after such a prayer his sin will be forgiven and he will receive a reward in his future life in another world.

Who is Yunus

There are more than 124 thousand prophets and messengers in Islam. The chosen ones read dua as proof of the miracles bestowed by the Creator. The price for the call to truth was serious trials in life. Yunus performed sacred deeds in the Iraqi province of Nineveh. The Prophet called the people to Islam, but people resisted accepting the new faith to replace idolatry. Distressed by the lack of results, the envoy left the region by ship. Allah punished him for his intolerance and haste.

Yunus was thrown overboard into the sea and swallowed by a whale. After sincerely reading the dua in the belly of a mammal, the man was forgiven. Finding himself in the desert under a tree, the prophet continued to spread Islam. Allah brings closer to Himself all people who sincerely strive for faith. The miraculous power of prayer lies in drawing closer to the Creator.

Having received forgiveness for the sins committed, a person will be awarded heavenly conditions for living in the afterlife. The unbeliever will go to prison or prison.

The reading of the dua of the Prophet Yunus began with the recognition of the unity of the Almighty. Afterwards the praise of God continued. Committing a sin symbolizes the injustice of the act. In the future the person will be unhappy.

Prophet Yunus' prayer for salvation from the consequences of sins

“There is no god but You! Glory to You! Verily, I was one of the unjust" (Surah 21 "Prophets", verse 87)

.

This is the prayer mentioned in the Book of Allah, with which one of His noble prophets appealed to the Almighty Lord in difficult times. This prophet was Yunus (peace be upon him). His story is told in several Quranic surahs, which indicates its importance. Indeed, it contains many lessons and gives us serious reasons to think.

The Lord directed Yunus (peace be upon him) to the inhabitants of Nineveh, which was once located where the Iraqi city of Mosul is located today. Yunus fulfilled his prophetic mission in the best possible way, fully aware of the responsibility entrusted to him and trying his best. Whatever he did, wanting his fellow tribesmen to believe in the One God and worship Him alone!

But the light of truth that he brought to them and which he so dreamed of sharing with them could not dispel the darkness of error and unbelief with which their hearts were filled. They did not want to heed his call and refused to profess monotheism.

And God’s prophet, whose heart was filled with bitterness and anger because of the behavior of his ungrateful fellow tribesmen, who preferred error to truth, predicted for them a terrible punishment that was to fall on them after three days. After this, Yunus, deciding that there was nothing more to wait for, left his wicked people, without waiting for the command of the Lord, instead of patiently waiting for the Most High Himself to call him to do so.

But the ways of the Lord are inscrutable, and man believes, but God disposes... Something happened that Yunus did not expect. On a ship carried by the waves, people, among whom Yunus was destined to be, had to decide by lot who to throw overboard in order to lighten the ship and save the lives of others. And the lot fell to Yunus. Three times in a row. Submissive to fate, Yunus threw himself overboard and, by God’s will, was immediately swallowed by a sperm whale, whose womb became like a prison for him. And it was from there, from the darkness of his strange prison, that the prophet cried out to the Lord with this prayer, the result of which was his miraculous release from this imprisonment in the depths of the sea.

Filled with meekness, humility, repentance and regret for his haste, Yunus (peace be upon him) said: “There is no god but You!” He began his prayer with the recognition of monotheism. Allah Almighty is the only God and Lord of all things. The only one before whom one should revere and with whom one should pin hopes. The only one from whom Yunus, who found himself in a hopeless situation, could expect help and salvation. The only One to Whom everything and everyone is subject and to Whose will every creation of His is submissive, be it the sea into which Yunus had to throw himself, or the sperm whale that swallowed him, or any other creation, no matter how huge or, conversely, tiny it may be.

“Glorified are You!” - added God's prophet, continuing to cry out to the Lord. You are perfect. You are free from any shortcomings, vices, flaws and weaknesses. You are the Possessor of absolute wisdom, absolute knowledge, absolute power and absolute power. You do not need anyone or anything, while all of Your creations, without exception, endlessly need You.

“Verily, I was one of the unjust!” — Yunus hastened to admit. I was wrong, I didn't do what I should have done. I acted unfairly towards myself when, in despair, I did not wait for Your command and followed the lead of my own anger and sadness. How sincere repentance and how beautiful humility shines through in this prayer!

This Quranic prayer teaches us, first of all, not to give in to despair, for miracles happen and there is actually a way out of the most difficult situation, although we do not always see it.

What is human knowledge in comparison with the knowledge of the Lord?.. After all, we know what happened next: the people whom Yunus left, not seeing any good in them, were afraid of the promised punishment, thought about it and entered the shadow of monotheism, becoming believers. And the Lord accepted their faith and delivered them from the punishment that Yunus considered inevitable for them.

This prayer also teaches us not to rush, because haste is from the shaitan, as we know from the hadith, which means it does not lead to good, and life itself constantly confirms this golden rule.

And, of course, this prayer, in its beautiful form, teaches us good manners towards the Lord.

It also contains another important lesson: better late than never. Of course, it is better to try to avoid sins and mistakes. But if a believer nevertheless stumbles, then the best, most faithful, most natural thing for him is to humbly cry out to the Lord, whose mercy embraces all things, remembering that His mercy precedes His anger.

Subsequent prophets after Yunus firmly adhered to these traditions. The answer to the prayer from the Creator is immediate. The Qur'an lists the virtues of chanting:

Dua is a special prayer that forms the basis of religion. The story of Yunus is a shining example of the power of the prayer word. The depth of philosophical thought of this sacrament:

  • man is in a worse position than the prophet in the belly of the fish;
  • night in the history of Yunus is a symbol of the future. The look of carelessness constantly haunts people. Difficulties should be confronted consciously and without emotions in order to avoid fatal mistakes;
  • The entire globe is a sea. With every step a person takes, there is a risk of a problem occurring. Allah asks people to think about their actions before they act;
  • fish represents the uncontrollable passion and desires of personal nafs.

Yunus said that the true position of man in this world is fragile. He is surrounded by a large number of temptations. Not everyone can resist such temptations. Dua helps to overcome the difficulties that have arisen with dignity and form an objective vision of the universe. Tests in life are given by the Creator to instill in children his patience and willpower.

Islam is endurance and respect. Any situation can be resolved. The main thing is to look at it from different sides.

Not all the stories of the prophets of Islam found their place in the Koran, but those that Allah Almighty mentioned ended up in the Holy Book not by chance. Allah revealed in the Qur'an the stories of many of the predecessors of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to strengthen the heart of His Messenger and the believers:

“We tell you the stories of the messengers in order to strengthen your heart with them. In this surah there has come to you the truth, admonition and reminder for the believers" (Quran, 11:120)

Among these stories mentioned in the Quran is the story of Yunus (peace be upon him). Like most other references to previous prophets and messengers, fragments of the narrative of his fate are scattered throughout the Qur'an. In His wisdom, Allah has assigned each verse its place.

We can learn various lessons from the fate of Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him). An entire sura is named after him - this is the 10th sura of the Koran, it consists of 109 verses. Moreover, in the entire sura, the first mention of Yunus himself and his people is found almost at the very end, in the 98th verse - and this despite the fact that the whole sura bears his name:

“Were there any villages whose inhabitants believed after they saw the punishment, and faith helped them, except the people of Yunus? When they believed, We delivered them from the shameful torment of worldly life and allowed them to enjoy worldly blessings until a certain time" (Quran, 10:98).

Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) was sent to his people who lived in the city of Nineveh (Nineveh), in the territory of modern Mosul in northern Iraq (Tafsir ibn Kathir, 10:98). The verse says that the people of Yunus eventually accepted the message of monotheism, but this did not happen immediately.

Finding that his people did not believe him, Yunus became sad and angry and decided to leave them since they had rejected him. Whereas Allah says:

“Be patient until the decision of your Lord (O Muhammad) and do not be like the man in the fish (Yunus), who prayed out loud, holding back his sorrow” (Quran, 68:48)

This verse teaches that patience is necessary in da'wah. Allah teaches the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and with him us, the need to be patient when calling to Allah, not to rush, like Yunus, because there are always those who do not believe, but the true Guide is Allah:

“Truly, you cannot guide those you love to the straight path. Only Allah guides those whom He wishes to the straight path. He knows best those who follow the straight path" (Quran, 28:56)

Yunus (peace be upon him) realized that Allah would soon punish his people, he decided to board a ship and, together with several companions, sail away from this region. During the voyage, strong rolling began, and the sailors realized that there were too many of them on board and someone needed to leave the ship. It’s not hard to guess that no one wanted to jump into the sea. So they decided to draw lots, and whoever got the lot three times would be thrown overboard. Allah wished that the lot should go to Yunus (peace be upon him) three times, and then he undressed and threw himself into the water.

In Surah As-Saffat, after the stories of the prophets Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Harun, Elijah and Lut (peace be upon them), Allah narrates what happened to Yunus (peace be upon him) when he threw himself into the sea:

“Yunus (Jonah) was also one of the messengers. He escaped onto a crowded ship. He cast lots with others and found himself a loser. He was swallowed by a fish when he was worthy of blame" (Qur'an, 37:139-142)

By the will of Allah, Yunus was swallowed by a huge fish - a whale, therefore in the Koran He also calls the prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) “the whale’s companion.” What happened next? Yunus ended up in the belly of the whale, but, by the will of Allah, he was not digested, but was there as if in a prison (Tafsir ibn Kathir, 37: 139-142).

At the moment of the most difficult test, Yunus turned to Allah with an amazing call - so accessible and comprehensive that Allah immortalized it in the Koran:

“Remember also the man in the fish (Jonah), who left in anger and thought that We could not cope with him. He called out from the darkness: “There is no god but You! Glory to You! Verily, I was one of the wrongdoers!” We answered his prayer and saved him from sorrow. Thus We save the believers” (Quran, 21:87-88).

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “And [Yunus], who was in the belly of the fish, [also] began to praise [Allah]. Hearing his praise, the angels said: “O our Lord! Verily, we hear a faint voice [coming] from an unknown land.” [In response to them, Allah] said: “This is My servant Yunus, who disobeyed Me, [for which] I placed him in the belly of a fish [swimming] in the sea.” [The angels] asked: “[Is this] the righteous servant from whom righteous deeds ascended to You daily and nightly?” [Allah] said: “Yes.” Then they began to intercede for him, and at the command of [Allah], the fish threw [Yunus] onto the shore...” (Tafsir ibn Kathir, 21:87-88).

The dua with which Yunus (peace be upon him) addressed Allah is so valuable that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The prayer of Dhu-n-Nun (Yunus), which he said while in the belly of a whale: “There is no god.” , except you. Glorious are You! Verily, I was one of the unjust”/La ilaha illa Anta, subhanaka, inni kuntu mina-z-zalimin/. Whatever Muslim asks for anything through this prayer, he will definitely be answered!” (Tirmidhi)

The further story of Yunus continues in Surah Saffat:

“If he had not been one of those who glorify Allah, he would certainly have remained in her womb until the day when they were resurrected. We threw him out into the open, and he was sick" (Qur'an, 37:143-145).

In the belly of the whale, Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) turned to Allah, admitting his sins and weaknesses. Only Allah could save him. In these verses from Surah As-Saffat, Allah says that He saved Yunus because he glorified Him. He remembered Allah in good times, and Allah treated him favorably in times of trial.

We Muslims living in the 21st century can learn profound lessons from these events. In everyday life, we face many problems: financial difficulties, family troubles, difficulties at work or study, etc. - everyone has their own problems. But at the same time, we forget that there is a solution to all our troubles, and it is available to everyone without exception. This solution is to seek help from Allah. After all, it is by the will of Allah that we find ourselves in certain difficult situations, and it is the Almighty who can give us relief and relieve us of the burden.

Just as Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) turned to Allah in a difficult moment, so we must resort to Allah and beg Him for help, for we are His slaves, and the Almighty always answers the requests of His slaves, we only need to ask with faith, hope and patience .

One of the most famous pieces of advice the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave to his cousin Abdullah ibn Abbas: “Remember Allah in prosperity, and He will remember you in adversity.”

So, Allah ordered the whale to release Yunus (peace be upon him), and he returned to his people, who by that time realized his message and believed. It was the only one of the disobedient peoples who turned to Allah and repented: “We sent him to a hundred thousand or even more. They believed, and We allowed them to enjoy benefits until a certain time" (Quran, 37: 147-148).

In what cases do you turn to reading the dua of the prophet in the belly of a whale?

Islam is unthinkable without a sense of repentance and the desire for Allah's forgiveness. Sincere chanting of Yunus' text cultivates the best qualities in a person. For believers, when pronouncing dua, humility and awareness of their imperfection before the Lord are important. The Almighty sees through the souls of all people, the intentions of actions and options for decisions. The Creator knows the feeling that arises in the soul after committing a sin.

The Creator is characterized by mercy and mercy. When contacting through dua, a person will never be left alone with his problems. The doors to the path to forgiveness will not be closed, despite the complexity of sin. The Almighty has given blessings to people.

Yunus's prayer, coming from the heart, should always be filled with sincerity.

Yusuf's dua is a reliable tool for healing from sadness and sadness. Human life is inherently unstable. Joyful events alternate with sad ones. Worldly time is fleeting, but the truth of the monastery lives in akhirat. A conscious attitude towards such things allows you to successfully overcome sadness, sadness and difficulties along the path of life. In a difficult situation, a true Muslim can always use the gift of the Creator - dua. Chanting can accomplish the impossible. Often prayer helps to avert sadness and grant a good outcome.

A believer at the moment of conversion must show humility towards the Almighty. You can read the dua of Yunus in a number of cases:

  1. Anxiety prevails in my soul.
  2. A person experiences serious worries about his future.
  3. Feelings of apathy and indifference dominate life.
  4. Difficulties regularly arise at work.
  5. An atmosphere of despondency and misunderstanding reigns in the family.
  6. Dua in the name of Yunus is read in the absence of a goal in life.
  7. Unpleasant situations and grief arise.
  8. Morality and faith are moving further and further away from man.
  9. The flame of love for the Creator is fading.
  10. Life ceases to please and bring positive emotions.

Before the dua of Prophet Yunus, it is important to tune in to the necessary wave. Get rid of negative thoughts from your head. Focus on the positive things in life. Prayer must be mixed with faith. Appealing to Allah is best done early in the morning or in the third half of the night. To perform the sacrament, you need to be alone so that no one distracts you.

The behavior of a believer in critical situations. Khutba 01/28/2022. Part 2

O servants of Allah! We have named six things that a person should do when troubles and misfortunes strike or some kind of critical situation occurs. There is one thing left that needs to be mentioned. And although we mention it last, it is actually not the last, in fact, this thing is one of the very first things. What I am saying now is that you need to resort to Allah (pure and exalted is He) with humble supplication (du'a). This is the duty of a Muslim - when some misfortune or hardship happens, you need to run to Allah (exalted and exalted is He) with prayer, because the reins of everything, the keys of everything are in the Hands of Allah (exalted and exalted is He). If any misfortune befalls, it must be by the decree of Allah (pure and exalted is He). If it is eliminated, then it is only by the will of Allah (pure and exalted is He). Therefore, a Muslim turns to Allah (exalted and exalted is He) with his humble, genuine prayer, which comes from his heart, and asks Allah (exalted and exalted is He) to remove, relieve this misfortune, remove this experience, remove fear. Allah is Almighty, O servants of Allah. You read in the Book of Allah (pure and exalted is He) that He

عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

"Almighty" . Allah (pure and exalted is He) is Shy (Hayyun), He is Covering (Sittir), He is ashamed of His servant when he raises his hands in supplication, Allah is ashamed to return these hands empty. Allah is more merciful to us than our mothers, if only we, O servants of Allah, are sincere in our prayers. Turn to Allah (pure and exalted is He) with humble prayers, O servants of Allah, and then fears will be removed, then sadness will go away, then grief will go away.

It is not by chance that Allah (pure and exalted is He) tests slaves; why does Allah give these tests? So that His servants would return to Him and turn to Him. Allah (exalted and exalted is He) says:

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُم بِ الْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ

“And We already sent [prophets, messengers] to communities before you, and We took (grabbed) them with need and troubles [gave them needs and troubles] .

For what?

لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

“Perhaps they [to Us]

(Quran, Surah "Cattle", 6:42).

Allah (pure and exalted is He) tests His servants, gives them a test in order to hear their prayer and appeal (du'a) to Him when they cry and cry. If they do this, then this calamity will be removed from them, and deliverance will be given to them, and al-'afiya will be given to them.

What do we just need to do? We only need to raise our hands and turn to Allah (exalted and exalted is He), being convinced of the answer. It is imperative that when you ask Allah, do not doubt that Allah will answer, be convinced of His answer. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) says:

All rights reserved. يَستجيبُ دُعاءً من قلْبٍ غافِلٍ لَاهٍ

“Ask Allah (call upon Him), being convinced of the answer. And know that Allah does not answer du'a that comes from a careless, neglectful heart." .

The hadith was narrated by at-Tirmidhi (3479) and al-Bazzar (10061).

Allah (pure and exalted is He) saves a person who is in an extreme situation, removes evil:

أَمَّن يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ

“Who answers the call (du'a) of one who is in extreme distress and removes evil?”

(Quran, Surah Ants, 27:62).

Who? Well, of course, He is Allah (pure and exalted is He), and no one else.

Allah (pure and exalted is He) praises His prophets in His Scripture for what? Because when any hardships came to them, they cried out to Him with humble supplications. Allah (pure and exalted is He) praises Yunus (peace be upon him), who said, being in the belly of a whale, in the darkness, that is, in a seemingly hopeless situation. Allah (exalted and exalted is He) says:

فَنَادَى فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ أَن لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَك َ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ * فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَنَجَّيْنَا هُ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَكَذَلِكَ نُنجِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

“And he cried out in the darkness, saying: “There is no true God but You, Most Holy You are, I was one of the transgressors.” And We answered him, and We saved him from sorrow. This is how We save the believers."

(Quran, Surah “Prophets”, 21:87-88).

It is no coincidence that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The supplication (du'a) of my brother Dhu n-Nun [i.e. e. Yunus, peace be upon him] - if only a person in a difficult situation calls through him, Allah will certainly remove this burden from him, if the person says:

All rights reserved. ينَ

“La ilaha illa Anta, Subhanaka, inni kuntu mina z-zalimin”".

Hadith narrated

Great du'a, because it contains Monotheism (Tawhid), all three types of Tawhid - Tawhid of worship of Allah alone (exalted and exalted is He) (uluhiyya), the belief that Allah is the only Lord (rububiyya), names and attributes of Allah (exalted and exalted is He) (asmau wa s-sifat), because Tawhid, O servants of Allah, is a refuge for those who seek salvation.

And Ayyub was praised by Allah (exalted and exalted is He) that he said:

الرَّاحِمِينَ

“Trouble has touched me, and You are the Most merciful of those who have mercy.”

(Quran, Surah “Prophets”, 21:83).

And Ya'qub (peace be upon him) was praised by Allah (exalted and exalted is He) for saying:

إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَعْلَمُ منَ ا للَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

“I complain about my sorrow and sorrow only to Allah”

(Quran, Surah Yusuf, 12:86).

And Moses (peace be upon him) was praised by Allah for saying:

All rights reserved.

“O my Lord, I need the good that you bestow upon me.”

(Quran, Surah Narrative, 28:24).

Complain, complain to Allah (pure and exalted is He). Complaining to Allah does not contradict patience. On the contrary, if a person does not complain to people, but complains to Allah, this is true patience (sabr). Allah (pure and exalted is He) condemns those who do not want to turn to Him with humble supplications. Allah (exalted and exalted is He) says:

وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُم بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبّهِم ْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

“We seized them with punishment, but they did not humble themselves before their Lord and did not pray [to Him]

(Quran, Surah “The Believers”, 23:76).

Allah (pure and exalted is He) hates those who complain about Him to people, but Allah loves those who complain to Him. And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him):

سلوا اللَّهَ العفوَ والعافيةَ

“Ask Allah for forgiveness and [ask] .

The hadith was reported by at-Tirmidhi (3558), Sheikh al-Albani called it good and reliable.

We ask Allah for forgiveness ('afw) and deliverance ('afiya). And after conviction (yaqina), no one is given anything better than deliverance, well-being ('afiya), says the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said:

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَىُّ الدُّعَاءِ أَفْضَلُ؟

“O Messenger of Allah, what is the best du’a?”

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) answered him:

All rights reserved. ِ

“Ask Allah for forgiveness and prosperity in this world and in the Hereafter”.

He, this man, came again the next day and said again:

الدُّعَاءِ أَفْضَلُ‏؟‏

“O Prophet of Allah, what is the best du’a?”

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) again said to him:

All rights reserved. ِ

“Ask Allah for forgiveness and prosperity in this world and in the hereafter.”.

The hadith was reported by al-Bukhari in al-Adab al-mufrad (637), Sheikh al-Albani called it authentic.

O servants of Allah, this du'a is the best remedy and the best medicine. Du'a is the enemy of troubles, du'a does not allow misfortune to descend, it wards off misfortune. And even if misfortune comes, du'a makes this misfortune easy.

Because dua can be of three types regarding misfortune. The first case is when the du'a is stronger than the misfortune, and then it averts this misfortune. The second case is when the du'a is weaker than the misfortune, then this misfortune comes, but it is easier because of the du'a. And the third case is when they, du'a and misfortune, are equal in strength, and then they fight each other until the Day of Judgment, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) says:

لا يُغنِي حذرٌ من قدرٍ والدعاءُ ينفعُ مما نزل ومما لم ينزلْ وإن البل All rights reserved.

“Caution does not protect from predestination, but du'a helps from what has already happened and from what has [yet] happened (from what has already descended and from what has not yet descended). And, truly, misfortune descends, but it is met by du’a, and they fight each other until the Day of Judgment.”

The hadith was narrated by at-Tabarani (33), Sheikh al-Albani called it good.

And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) says:

مَن لم يسألِ اللهَ يغضبْ علَيهِ

“Whoever does not ask Allah, Allah is angry with him.”.

The hadith was narrated by at-Tirmidhi (3373), Ibn Majah (3827) and Ahmad (9719), Sheikh al-Albani called it good.

There was such a man, Muwarrik (may Allah Almighty have mercy on him). He says: “A believer [how he behaves in this world, what is his position in this world] - he can be compared to a man who is in the sea on a board and says:

يَا رَبُّ يَا رَبُّ

“O Lord, oh my Lord,”

hoping that Allah (pure and exalted is He) will save him.” This is the position of a believer in this world: he is like a man whose ship was wrecked, his ship crashed, and he found himself among the huge waves in this abyss of waves and wind in the darkness, in the darkness, and there is nothing except a small plaque for which he managed to catch on, and he holds on to this board and says:

يَا رَبُّ يَا رَبُّ

“O Lord, O Lord” - and calls out to Allah (exalted and exalted is He):

سَلِّمْ سَلِّمْ يَا رَبُّ

"O my Lord, save me."

This is how a believer should behave in this world.

O servants of Allah, run to Allah and remember one thing: the nature of many people is such that when Allah (exalted and exalted is He) delivers them from trouble, then these people again return to the sins that they committed. Allah (exalted and exalted is He) says:

وَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَا رَبَّهُ مُنِيبًا إِلَيْهِ ث إِذَا خَوَّلَهُ نِعْمَةً مِّنْهُ نَسِيَ مَا كَانَ يَدْعُو إِلَ يْهِ مِن قَبْلُ

“When a person is touched by trouble, he calls on his Lord, turning to Him [with all his heart] . And when Allah then gives Him mercy from Himself [relieves him from poverty, from unhappiness, from fear, from crisis] , he [this person] forgets about what he asked Allah for [(pure and exalted is He)] [and it turns out ungrateful to Him] "

(Quran, Surah “Crowds”, 39:8).

We ask Allah (exalted and exalted is He) for forgiveness (al-'afw) and prosperity (al-'afiya).

اللَّهُمَّ إنِّا نَعُوذُ بكَ مِن زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ، وَفُجَاءَةِ عَافِيَتِكَ، وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ

We ask Allah (exalted and exalted) for protection from being deprived of His mercy, and from His punishment (and from His unexpected punishment), and we ask for protection from the loss of well-being, and we ask Him for protection from all anger /Allahumma inna na'uzu bi-kya min filled up ni'amitik, va fujaati nikmatik, va tahavvuli 'afiyatik, va jimi'i sakhatiik/.

Hadith narrated by Muslim (4739).

We ask Allah (exalted and exalted) for healing for our sick, and we ask Allah (exalted and exalted) to give Muslims deliverance, and protect them from all evil and all fear, and protect them from enemies who wish harm to Muslims, and we ask Allah (exalted and exalted is He) to deliver us from them as He wishes, and we say: “O Allah, deliver us from them as You wish, deliver us from them as You wish, deliver us from them as You wish.” .

Supplications (ad-du'a) from the Holy Qur'an

Alhamdulillah.

On a very useful salaf forum, which is curated/moderated by brothers who require knowledge (students and graduates of Islamic universities in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other countries, you can find a lot of useful things. I will publish some works on this site with the permission of Allah, and then the owners Salaf forum, may Allah reward them in both worlds.

Below is a list of supplications (duas) mentioned by Allah Almighty, Holy and Great, which were used by prophets and righteous people. There is an Arabic version, a Russian translation, a transcription, and an audio file for listening to this dua.

We would like to note right away that studying verses by transcription is wrong, since transcription does not convey the correct pronunciation and can distort the meaning. The purpose of providing the transcription is for a Muslim who cannot read Arabic to listen to the dua (link to listen) and the transcription will make it easier for him to remember. That. We strongly ask you to strive to pronounce dua - verses of the Holy Quran in accordance with the audio, and the transcription is a hint for ease, nothing more, inshaAllah.

الشيخ عبد الرزاق بن عبد المحسن البدر: مَن تُستجابُ دعوتُهم

Sheikh Abdurrazzaq ibn Abdulmukhsin al-Badr wrote in the book “Legal Provisions Concerning Dua and Remembrance of Allah”:
“Of those about whom it has come in the sunnah that their dua is not rejected:

- dua of the fasting person until he breaks the fast; - dua of a traveler; - dua of one of the parents for or against their child; - Dua of someone who has been treated unfairly.

In Sunan al-Kubra, al-Bayhaqi reported from Abu Saeed al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “ The dua of three people is not rejected: the dua of a parent, the dua of a fasting person and the dua of a traveler . (Al-Bayhaqi 3/345. The authenticity was confirmed by Sheikh al-Albani in “al-Sahiha” 1797) At-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah reported from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him Allah said: “Three calls (duas) will be answered, there is no doubt about it: the dua of the one who was treated unfairly, the dua of the traveler and the dua of the parent for his child . (Abu Dawud 1536, Ibn Majah 3762, at-Tirmidhi 1905. Sheikh al-Albani confirmed that the hadith is good in al-Sahiha 596) This was also reported by Imam Ahmad in Musnad, but with the words: “The dua of a parent against his own child . (Ahmad 2/258)

Also about the dua of someone who was treated unfairly, there is a hadith reported from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, about how the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent Muaz to Yemen. It contains the words: “And fear the dua of the one who was treated unfairly, because there are no barriers between his dua and Allah . (Al-Bukhari 2448) Works on biographies and reports of historical events are full of references and evidence confirming this. From such reports, for example, what Imam Muslim reported in his “Sahih” from Urwa ibn Zubeir that Arwa bint Uwais accused Saeed ibn Zaid of appropriating part of her land and filed a lawsuit against Marwan ibn al-Hakam . Said said: “How could I appropriate part of her land after what I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?” Marwan said: “What did you hear from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?” Said answered: “I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: “Whoever appropriates an inch of land unjustly, he will be plunged into seven lands . Marwan said: “After this I do not ask you for proof.” Said said: “O Allah, if she lied, then deprive her of her sight and kill her on her own land.” Said (Urwa): “And she did not die until she lost her sight, and then one day she was walking along her land, fell into a hole and died.” (Muslim 3/1231)

The sunnah also indicates that a Muslim's dua for his absent brother is not rejected. It is narrated in the Sahih of Muslim that Umm Darda, may Allah be pleased with her, said to Safuan: “Do you want to perform the Great Pilgrimage (Hajj)?” He replied: “Yes.” She said: “Turn to Allah with a dua for good for us (when you go on Hajj), because the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “The dua of a Muslim for his absent brother deserves an answer. There is an angel at his head, and whenever he asks for a good thing for his brother, the angel assigned to him says: “Amin (O Allah, answer), and the same to you . (Muslim 2733) And Muslim narrated in Sahih from Abu Dard, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Whichever Muslim from the slaves (of Allah) makes dua for his absent brother, the angel says (at the same time): “And the same to you . (Muslim 2732)

Also from what came in the sunnah about the answer to the dua - a reliable hadith in the “Sahih” of al-Bukhari from Ubadah ibn Samit, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Who will toss and turn at night and say: there is no one worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone, and He has no partners, to Him belongs the power and to Him is all praise, and He is powerful over every thing. All praise be to Allah and holy is Allah, and there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and Allah is great, and there is no strength or might except from Allah, -

- or makes a dua - he will be answered. And if he performs ablution and performs prayer, then his prayer will be accepted . (Al-Bukhari 1154) And Abu Dawud narrated in his Sunan, Ahmad in the Musnad collection and others from Muaz ibn Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “ Whatever Muslim nor would he spend the night remembering Allah, being in ritual purity, and, tossing and turning at night, would ask Allah for good in this life and in the next life - Allah will give it to him . (Abu Dawud 5042, Ahmad 5/234, 241, 244. The authenticity was confirmed by Sheikh al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami 5754)

Whenever a servant (of the Most High) is close to Allah, being in submission to Him, fulfilling His commands, he will be worthy of answering and accepting his requests and secret conversations with his Lord. It is reliably reported in Sahih al-Bukhari from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Truly, Allah Almighty said: “Whoever is at enmity with those close to Me, I declare war on him. And the most beloved thing for Me, through which a slave approaches Me, is what I have charged him with as a duty. And My servant will not stop approaching Me, performing additional desired deeds, until I love him. And when I love him, I will be his ear with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he grasps, his foot with which he steps. And if he asks me, I will give it to him, if he turns to me for refuge, I will protect him. And I do not hesitate in anything more than in taking the soul of a believer, while death is unpleasant for him, and what is unpleasant for me is unpleasant for him . (Al-Bukhari 6502)

Also, when trouble touches a servant of Allah, and he turns to Allah truthfully, from a pure heart, with the strongest desire, then his dua is not rejected. Allah says: “Who answers the prayer of a needy person when he calls on Him and removes evil?” (Sura “Ants”, verse 62) Some scholars said about this verse: “Allah Almighty has guaranteed an answer to someone in distress when he calls on Him, and has communicated this about Himself. The reason for this is that the urgent need to turn to Him comes from sincerity, when cutting off the ties of the heart with everyone except Him. And sincerity before Him is a position and a sense of duty, possible both for the believer and for the infidel, for both the submissive and the vicious.” (Tafsir al-Qurtubi 13/148)

And the dua of Zu n-nun (Jonah, the man in the fish), peace be upon him, which he called while inside the whale - this dua has a special position in terms of answering it and accepting it. Allah Almighty said: “Remember also the man in the fish (Jonah), who left in anger and thought that We could not cope with him. He cried out from the darkness: “There is no one worthy of worship except You! Glory to You! Verily, I was one of the wrongdoers!” We answered his prayer and saved him from sorrow. This is how We save the believers . (Sura “Prophets”, verses 87-88) It came in an authentic sunnah that this dua is great in position and blessed, and in whatever matter a Muslim makes this dua, Allah will certainly answer him. At-Tirmidhi and others narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Dua Dhu n-nuna, with whom he called out while inside the whale: “There is no one worthy of worship except You! Glory to You! Verily, I was one of the wrongdoers!”

“No matter what matter a person calls out with this dua, Allah will certainly answer him . (At-Tirmidhi 3505, Ahmad 1/170. The authenticity was confirmed by Sheikh al-Albani in “Sahih al-Jami” 3383)

Also, if the servant of Allah adds to this approaching Allah (tawassul) in dua by mentioning his righteous deeds that he performed in his life in order to be closer to Allah Almighty and gain His pleasure, then his dua will not be rejected. As it happened with three men in a cave, the exit from which was blocked by a fallen rock. They made tawassul (closer to Allah) by mentioning in dua some of their righteous deeds, until Allah delivered them from this problem. And we have already given their story in full. *

Bringing a slave closer to Allah, increasing the number of good deeds performed, striving towards his Lord with what He is pleased with is the most important reason for accepting dua, and the reason for answering it. And success is in the Hands of Allah alone.”

* Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: “(Once) three people from among those who lived before you set out on a journey (and walked) until then until they stopped for the night in some cave, but when they entered there, a huge stone fell from the mountain and tightly closed the exit from it for them. Then they said: “Truly, only an appeal to Allah Almighty with a prayer (that He will deliver you from it) for your good deeds can save you from this stone!” (After this) one of them said: “O Allah, I had old parents, and in the evenings I never gave milk to either my household or slaves until I brought milk to them. One day, my search for trees took me far from home, and when I returned, they were already asleep. I milked milk for them, but having learned that they had fallen asleep, I did not want to wake them up or give milk to my household and slaves before them, and until dawn I waited with a cup in my hand for their awakening, and all this time the children screamed from hunger at my feet. And then (my parents) woke up and drank their evening drink. O Allah, if I did this while striving for Your Face, then deliver us from the situation in which we find ourselves because of this stone! And after that (the stone moved, opening) a passage (but not so much that) they could get out of there. Another said: “O Allah, verily, I had a cousin whom I loved more than (any of) people.” Another version of this hadith reports that he said: “...and I loved her as much as Only men can love women, and I wanted her, but she resisted me. (This continued until) it was a (dry) year. And then she came to me, and I gave her one hundred and twenty dinars so that she would allow me to dispose of herself. And she went for it; when did I get the opportunity (to take possession of) her..." Another version of this hadith reports that he said: "... and when I sat between her legs, she said: “Fear Allah and do not break this seal except by right!” And then I left her, (despite the fact that) I loved her more than anyone, leaving with her the gold that I gave her. O Allah, if I did this while striving for Your Face, then deliver us from the situation in which we find ourselves!” And after that the stone (again moved from its place, but the passage was still not wide enough so that) they could get out of there. The third said: “O Allah, truly, one day I hired workers and paid (all) of them, except one person who left what was due to him and left, but I used his money and increased it. And after some time he came to me and said: “O servant of Allah, give me my wages.” Then I said to him: “Your payment is all these camels, cows, sheep and slaves that you see.” He said: “O servant of Allah, do not mock me!” I said, “I’m not making fun of you,” and he took it all and drove away, leaving nothing. O Allah, if I did this, striving for Your Face, then deliver us from the situation in which we find ourselves! ”, and after that the stone (moved enough that they could) get out and leave.” Al-Bukhari 3465, Muslim 2743.
