KATHISMA TWENTIETH.

Psalm 143.

Psalm to David, to Goliath.

1 Blessed is the Lord my God, who trains my hands to fight, and my fingers to fight. 2 My mercy and my refuge, my Protector and my Deliverer, my Defender, and in Him I have trusted: put my people under me. 3 Lord, what is man that you knew him? Or the son of man, why do you count him? 4 Man is like vanity: his days pass away like a shadow. 5 Lord, bow down the heavens and come down and touch the mountains, and they will rise up. 6 Flash the lightning, and make me a wife; send forth your arrows, and make me tremble. 7 Send down Your hand from on high, wash me away, and deliver me from many waters, from the hand of the strange children, 8 whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is the right hand of unrighteousness. 9 O God, I will sing a new song to You, in the psalter of ten strings I will sing to You, 10 Who gives salvation to the king, Who delivered David His servant from the fierce sword. 11 Deliver me, and pluck me from the hand of the strange sons, whose lips speak vanity, and their right hand is the right hand of wickedness. 12 And their sons were like new plants planted in their youth. Their daughters are enriched and adorned, like a temple. 13 Their storehouses are full, they vomit from this into this, their sheep are prolific, multiplying in their goings, their oxen are thick. 14 There is no fall for the stronghold, below the passage, below the cry in their stacks. 15 Please the people, which is what this is. Blessed are the people, even the Lord is their God.

Psalm 144.

Praise be to David.

1 I will exalt You, O my God, my King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever. 2 I will bless You every day and praise Your name forever and ever. 3 The Lord is great and greatly praised, and His greatness has no end. 4 Generation and generation will praise Your works and proclaim Your power. 5 They will proclaim the splendor of the glory of Your holiness and tell of Your wonders. 6 And they will speak of Your terrible power and Your greatness. 7 They will regurgitate the memory of the abundance of Your goodness and will rejoice in Your righteousness. 8 The Lord is generous and merciful, long-suffering and abounding in mercy. 9 The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are upon all His works. 10 Let all Your works be confessed to You, O Lord, and Your worship bless You. 11 They will proclaim the glory of Your kingdom, and proclaim Your power, 12 Tell the sons of man Your power, and the glory of the splendor of Your kingdom. 13 Your kingdom is the kingdom of all ages, and your dominion is in every generation and generation. The Lord is faithful in all His words and Holy in all His deeds. 14 The Lord strengthens all those who fall down and raises up all those who are cast down. 15 The eyes of all trust in You, and You give them food in due season. 16 You open Your hand and perform good pleasure in every living creature. 17 The Lord is righteous in all His ways and honorable in all His deeds. 18 The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. 19 I will do the will of those who fear Him, and I will hear their prayer and save them. 20 The Lord preserves all those who love Him and consumes all sinners. 21 My mouth shall sing the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless His holy name forever and ever.

Psalm 151.

This psalm is especially written by David, and outside the number of 150 psalms, you are always fighting against Goliath.

He was small among my brothers and the youngest in my father’s house, a shepherd of my father’s sheep. My hands have created an organ, and my fingers have formed a psalter. And who will tell my Lord? The Lord Himself will hear. He himself sent his angel, and took me from my father’s sheep, and anointed me with his anointing oil. My brothers are good and great, and the Lord has not been pleased with them. I died to meet the foreigner, and their idols cursed me. And I pulled the sword from him, beheaded him, and took away the reproach from the children of Israel.

According to the 20th kathisma, the Trisagion of Our Father: Also troparia, tone 8:

You are the fulfillment of all good things, O my Christ, fill my soul with joy and gladness, and save me, for I am the One who is Most Merciful.

Glory: Even though I have sinned, O Christ my Savior, before You, do I know no other God than You, but I dare in Your goodness, turning to accept me, Compassionate Father and Only Begotten Son and Holy Soul Hey, like the prodigal son, save me.

And now: We know no other refuge and warm intercession than You, for we have the boldness of those who were born of You, O Lady, help and save me, Your servant.

Lord, have mercy (40) and prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ my God, have mercy on me, a sinner, and forgive me, your unworthy servant, for how much I have sinned throughout my entire life, and even to this day, and even if I have sinned as a man. x, my sins are voluntary and involuntary, in deed and word, out of my mind and thoughts, out of co-admiration and inattention, and much of my laziness and neglect. If I have sworn in Your name, or have sworn falsely, or have blasphemed thoughts, or have reproached someone, or slandered, or been sad, or in wicked anger, or have stolen, or committed fornication oh, or I lied, or secretly poisoned myself, or a friend approached me and despised him, or my offended and bitter brothers, or standing by in prayer and psalmody, my evil mind went around the evil one, or rather enjoyed myself, or laughed madly, or sacrilegiously with verbs, or became vain, or proud, or saw vain kindness and was deceived by it , or the ridiculous one mocked me. Even though I was careless about my prayer, or did not keep the commandments of my spiritual father, or idle talk, or did other evil things, this is all I have done in these deeds, which I remember below. Have mercy, Lord, and forgive us all, so that I may fall asleep and rest in peace, singing, blessing, and glorifying You, with Your Beginning Father and with Your Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and forever and ever. Amen.

[Against Goliath.] 1 Blessed is the Lord, my rock, who teaches my hands to fight and my fingers to fight, 2 my mercy and my refuge, my refuge and my Deliverer, my shield, and in Him I trust; He makes my people subject to me. 3 Lord! What is man, that You know about him, and the son of man, that You pay attention to him? 4 Man is like a breath; his days are like a retreating shadow. 5 Lord! Bow down Your heavens and come down; touch the mountains and they will rise; 6 Flash the lightning and scatter them; shoot your arrows and destroy them; 7 Stretch out Your hand from on high, deliver me and save me from many waters, from the hand of the sons of foreigners, 8 whose mouth speaks vain things, and whose right hand is the right hand of lies. 9 God! I will sing a new song to You, on a ten-stringed psalter I will sing to You, 10 Who gives salvation to kings and delivers Your servant David from the fierce sword. 11 Deliver me and save me from the hand of the sons of foreigners, whose lips speak vain things, and whose right hand is the right hand of lies. 12 Let our sons be like overgrown plants in their youth; our daughters are like skillfully sculptured pillars in palaces. 13 Let our barns be full, abundant with all grain; let our sheep multiply by thousands and tens of thousands in our pastures; 14 Let
our oxen be fat; let there be no theft, no loss, no outcry in our streets. 15 Blessed are the people who have this. Blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.
