Prayer “To the All-Tsaritsa” - when and how to pray to this icon of the Mother of God

Icon of the Mother of God “Vsetsaritsa”: history of appearance

The prayer “To the All-Tsarina” is associated with the iconographic image of the Mother of God of the same name. The exact time of the discovery of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Vsetsaritsa” is unknown. However, already in the 8th century, on the coast of modern Turkey, there was a monastery of the Mother of God “Vsetsaritsa”. And in the first half of the 16th century, Metropolitan Athanasius of Nicaea donated this miraculous image to the Mount Athos monastery of Simonopetra. Currently, the revered icon “The All-Tsarina” is located in the Vatopedi Monastery on Mount Athos.

Prayers at the Icon of the Mother of God “Vsetsaritsa”

Prayer to the “All-Tsarina” - what needs does it help with?

Which icon of the Mother of God should we pray to if we have oncology? Christian believers can definitely answer that there are no “specialized” icons. The Most Holy Theotokos is the same in all images. She can provide the grace-filled help of healing from various icons. The main thing is to turn to Her with firm faith and hope in Her intercessions before God.

Prayer to the icon “The Tsaritsa” strengthens faith and gives consolation to those who suffer. In front of this image, believers offer prayers for the healing of those suffering from cancer. This is due to the fact that it was after petitions to the Mother of God in front of Her image “The All-Tsarina” that many miraculous healings from cancer were revealed.

But these prayers should not be confused with magic spells. In Orthodoxy there are no specific prayers for cancer or any other diseases. After all, the point of prayer is not to “read” it. This is a request for help.

“It’s all about what kind of prayer we have. It must come from the heart and be based on compassion. The value of prayer is not so much in its duration as in its essence” (from the teachings of Elder Paisius the Holy Mountain, 1924-1994).

It is not the prayer to the All-Tsaritsa for healing from cancer that saves and helps, but the Lord, through the intercession of the Mother of God, to whom believers turn. You need to ask the Mother of God with faith in Her help.

As Saint John of Kronstadt (1829-1908) said:

“When you begin to pray to the Queen Theotokos, before praying, be sure that you will not leave Her without receiving mercy. She is the all-merciful Mother of the all-merciful God the Word, and all centuries and all Christian churches proclaim Her mercies, innumerably great and countless.”

Prayer to the Mother of God for healing

It is believed that the divine face of the Blessed Virgin was painted back in the 17th century, but most historians claim that it was painted by an unknown artist in the 12th century and only after it ended up in the hands of a monk of the Athos monastery did its miraculous work become widely known the action was confirmed in reality.

Miracles of healing of the Mother of God, testifying to her divine power, occurred almost immediately after she was placed in the cathedral of the Athos monastery. One of these miracles happened to a young man who was an adherent of black magic and wanted to test his power on Holy images. And when he approached the face of the Mother of God and began to mutter witchcraft spells, suddenly lightning began to flash from the image itself, which struck the young man and threw him back.

Being in great fright, the young man rushed out of the cathedral, but on his way he met a clergyman and told him what had just happened to him. Very frightened, he admitted that in his soul there was no faith in the Almighty and he was practicing witchcraft magic.

After this incident, the young man’s life changed radically, he repented of everything and decided to serve the Lord with his future life, remaining in the Athos monastery.

Miracles through prayer in front of the icon “The Queen of All”

In 2011, 24-year-old Elena from Krasnodar was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. After five operations and two courses of radioiodine therapy (treatment with radioactive iodine for thyroid cancer), friends advised me to pray to the Most Holy Theotokos in front of the miraculous image of “The All-Tsarina.” The young woman first went to church, and when she was admitted to the hospital for the third course of therapy, she prayed in her room. After some time, doctors stated her complete recovery.

At the end of 2010, Krasnodar resident Inna P. was diagnosed with cancer in the early stages. She refused the operation. Six months later, a repeat examination in Moscow revealed stage 1 cancer. The woman again refused surgical intervention and began to fervently pray to the Most Holy Theotokos in front of the “Vse Tsarina” icon. In March 2012, during the next examination, doctors found nothing; the woman was completely healthy.

In 2013, a woman living in the Krasnodar region was diagnosed with a precancerous disease. She regularly began to pray to the Mother of God in front of the icon “The Tsarina of All.” At the next examination the diagnosis was not confirmed.

Second prayer to the “Tsaritsa”

Oh, Most Pure Mother of God, All-Tsarina! Hear our much-painful sigh before Your miraculous icon, brought from the Athos inheritance to Russia, look upon Your children, those suffering from incurable ailments, who fall to Your holy image with faith! Just as a winged bird covers its chicks, so You, now and ever-living being, have covered us with Your multi-healing omophorion. There, where hope disappears, awaken with undoubted Hope. There, where fierce sorrows prevail, Appear with Patience and Weakness. There, where the darkness of despair has settled in the souls, let the ineffable light of the Divine shine!

Comfort the faint-hearted, strengthen the weak, grant softening and enlightenment to hardened hearts. Heal Your sick people, O all-merciful Queen! Bless the minds and hands of those who heal us; may they serve as an instrument of the Almighty Physician Christ our Savior. As if You are alive and present with us, we pray before Your icon, O Lady! Extend Your hand, full of healing and healing, Joy to those who mourn, Consolation to those in sorrow, so that with miraculous help we soon receive, we glorify the Life-Giving and Indivisible Trinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen
