The story of the brother of Jared in the scriptures is unique. O Lord, You said that we should be surrounded by streams (verse 2).

You are holy and in Heaven (verse 2).
You have all power and can do anything you want for the good of man (verse 4).
Explanation:
O Lord, do not be angry with Your servant for his weakness before You; for we know that we are unworthy before You; and our nature, because of the fall, constantly remains corrupt (verse 2).
Prayer for God's mercy
O Lord, look upon me with pity, and turn away Thy wrath from these Thy people (verse 3).

I changed the prayer of the brother of Jared a little and added a few things. The result was the following:
- Father, you are Holy and in heaven. Your magnitude cannot be expressed in words and Your mercy is beyond all understanding. I am amazed by Your goodness and eternally grateful that You have made Yourself known to us.
- Because of my fallen state, I continually do evil. My life is a complete mess right now and I know it. I don't claim anything. I'm in complete despair.
- Show compassion. Deliver from Your wrath. Oh, Lord, have mercy on me! I so need your divine gift.
- Bless according to our desires.
This model of prayer for the brother of Jared works especially well in those most difficult moments in life when we need to receive revelation. I see a general connection between the basic four principles of prayer and the prayer we are taught in holy places. Moreover, I think that the Lord rebuked the brother of Jared not because he forgot to pray, but because in his difficult hour he did not use the special way to pray that the Lord taught him.
I confess that the prayer of the brother of Jared is not an appropriate example of prayer for sacrament meeting. But it is very well suited for those times when we need the blessings of heaven. I start every day with this prayer. I also use this way of praying when I take the sacrament.
There are as many ways to pray as there are reasons to pray. When we understand that prayer is a way of calling on a higher power to cope with difficulties, then we can see that there are different ways to pray. In some prayers we pray for salvation. In others, we have a quiet conversation. However, in all our prayers we show that we need the mercy of heaven.
I realize that I have grown spiritually because I began to follow the scripture pattern of prayer. Now prayer for me is a conversation with my closest friend, whom I love very much. The steps of prayer we were taught as children are a good foundation for prayer. However, as more and more things begin to happen in our lives and our relationship with Heavenly Father develops and strengthens, we should not become fixated on any one form of prayer. We should try to find more intimate ways for us to pray to the Almighty, who calls us to come to Him. In such cases, ticking boxes in prayer is not the best way. No. In such cases, I appeal to Him with great respect. I talk to Him as things happen in my life. I pray for heavenly mercy. I listen to His wise counsel.
These are the kind of prayers that I like the most.
