History of writing

The psalm refers to that moment in David's life when the rebellion of his son Absalom was just unfolding. David managed to understand what real slander is. It is a weapon used by vile people in hopes of distorting the truth. Those close to David hid their thoughts from the king, and they themselves secretly spread rumors that the king’s rule was cruel and inappropriate. Until the last moment, David did not want to believe it, but slander can denigrate the human mind. Ultimately, the common untruths began to be considered true, and David was considered a villain.

Why read Psalm 63?

In the modern world there are no people who are not familiar with slander and betrayal. At such moments it seems that the conspirators will get away with everything, and the slandered person will die. But God, as the chief judge, will never allow a righteous person to be destroyed by a petty sinner.

This prayer is read at moments when a person’s soul is suppressed by betrayal, and his person is unjustifiably slandered. Holy words will help rid the soul of despondency and see the light. It is recommended to read the prayer in Church Slavonic. But if you have difficulty understanding the traditional text, use the version of the prayer adapted to the Russian language. In this case, the support will be disproportionately greater, because in this case the true understanding of the meaning of the psalm will be clear.
