To the holy martyrs Gury Samon and Aviv

These three saints are revered by Orthodox Christians as guardians of family well-being. They lived during the most severe persecution of Christians in Ancient Rome. They endured all the torments they were subjected to for their loyalty to God with fortitude and prayer. Now Christians all over the world offer them petitions, which the saints do not ignore and answer.

To the Martyr Paraskeva

Since ancient times, St. Paraskeva was revered in Rus' as the patroness of the family, the keeper of the hearth. Her iconographic images were in almost every home. With the special love of St. Paraskeva was always used primarily by women - she was called that: “woman’s patroness.”

She herself lived back in the 3rd century, in Iconium, in a rich and prosperous family. Now intercession from St. Paraskeva is received by women seeking salvation from family troubles, disagreements with their spouses and other everyday problems.

A short prayer for peace and love in the family

Lord Jesus Christ! Ever-Virgin Mary! You live in heaven, look after us sinners, help us in the hardships of this world!

They crowned them husband and wife, commanded them to live in peace, maintain dove-like fidelity, never swear, and never hurl harsh words. To praise you, to delight the heavenly angels in their singing, to give birth to children and to take care of them all at once. Carry God's word, be together in sorrow and joy.

Give us peace and quiet! So that dove love does not pass away, and hatred, black passion and misfortune do not find their way into the house! Lord, fence us off from an evil person, an evil eye, devilish deeds, heavy thoughts, needless suffering. Amen.

Prayers for preserving the family and admonishing the husband

Marriages are made in heaven. If, soon after the wedding, the young spouse does not take care of his loved ones and continues to live as a bachelor, he should turn directly to the Lord. A prayer for admonishing the husband is read in church and at home after the morning rule. It should be pronounced thoughtfully, quietly, three times. After each reading of the text, cross yourself and bow to the waist.

Prayer to the Mother of God for the preservation of marriage

The Mother of God is a mother herself and considers everyone her children. They pray to her:

parents about their daughter’s happiness by marrying her off;
spouses who do not have children, about giving them a child;
in case of discord between husband and wife.

The Holy Mother of God will take care of the strength of the family and the happiness of spouses and children. She will send harmony and understanding, tell you how to achieve happiness for adults and children.
