Schedule of akathists in the city of Bolgar: prayers by agreement

Human life is a rough and smooth road, no matter how much we want it to be. It’s not for nothing that they say that you must constantly thank God for everything you have. And if trouble comes, even more so we need to pray. Everything is in the hands of the Lord. The most powerful prayers are prayer services by agreement, this is a unification of people who pray for the same purpose, at the same time, about the same thing, and no matter what the distance is between them.

What is prayer by agreement

This form of prayer was blessed by the Son of God Jesus Christ, saying: where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am in the midst of them. Some take these words literally, that only 2 or 3 people can participate in the prayer work.

Of course not, the Lord often spoke in parables and images for a better understanding and assimilation of heavenly truth. Today it has been repeatedly confirmed that the more people take part in prayer by agreement, the more “miracles” the Creator performs.

Prayer by agreement in Bolgar has a clear organized structure and, in addition to the practice of prayer, also teaches spiritual discipline. The schedule of akathists read in the city of Bolgar is compiled in accordance with church Orthodox rules.

Prayer text

To communicate with the spiritual world through prayer, the texts of certain akathists were taken by agreement. Akathist is a prayer of gratitude and praise offered to God, the spiritual forces of light (angels, archangels), the Most Holy Theotokos and the saints of God. The schedule of akathists in the city of Bolgar contains prayers by agreement with explanations for what reason one can contact the celestials.

You also need to know that there is a text of prayer called “Prayer by Agreement.” They also pray to her when there is a need for a conciliar (joint) petition to the Lord.

It is small in volume, but this does not mean that this prayer is weaker. For prayer practice, the terms “weaker” and “stronger” are not used in principle. The only thing that matters is the state of soul in which we pass the words of prayer through our hearts.

The akathist is longer in time and text. It is, as it were, deeper in content, but in the same way, it requires sincere faith in the Creator or in the one to whom the words of the akathist are intended.

How to pray correctly

If you have joined a group and pray at home, you need to prepare correctly every time:

  • Light a candle to get closer to the prayer books by agreement.
  • Cleanse yourself with the sign of the cross.
  • Before starting, read the Lord's Prayer.
  • At the indicated time, begin to read the prayer as agreed in front of the image.
  • At the end, indicate the problem and the name of the person for whom you are praying.

You can read several times a day, as agreed. It’s up to you to decide how long to pray. Some people receive what they ask for almost immediately, while others need more than one year. The Athonite elder Paisios advised: “Accept the pain of another as your own and the Lord will accept your prayers.”

There are many texts for joint conciliatory prayer; sometimes the text of St. John of Kronstadt is used for work. The saint and his parishioners prayed for the sick four times a day until a miracle happened:

  • recovery of patients;
  • recovery of sight for the blind;
  • those who were lying down began to walk;
  • the birth of children among childless people.

You, as if you have boldness towards the Lord, free me from all troubles, so I call you: Rejoice, Nicholas, great Wonderworker.

Ikos 1

Reveal to you the Creator of all creation in the form of an angel, an earthly being; Having foreseen the fruitful kindness of your soul, blessed Nicholas, teach everyone to cry out to you:

Rejoice, purified from the womb of motherhood; Rejoice, even you who are completely sanctified.

Rejoice, you who surprised your parents with your birth; Rejoice, you who revealed the strength of your soul at Christmas.

Rejoice, garden of the land of promise; Rejoice, flower of the Divine planting.

Rejoice, virtuous vine of Christ's grapes; Rejoice, miraculous tree of Jesus' paradise.

Rejoice, the end of the paradisiacal vegetation; Rejoice, myrrh of Christ's fragrance.

Ikos 2

Instructing an unintelligible mind about the Holy Trinity, you were in Nicaea with the holy fathers, a champion of the confession of the Orthodox faith: for you confessed equal to the Father, co-essential and co-throne with the Father, and you denounced the foolish Aria. For this sake, for the sake of faithfulness, I have learned to sing to you:

Rejoice, great pillar of piety; Rejoice, faithful refuge of the city.

Rejoice, solid strengthening of Orthodoxy; Rejoice, the honorable One of the Most Holy Trinity was also praised.

Rejoice, Thou who preached the Son with equal honor to the Father; Rejoice, you drove away Aria, who was enraged from the Council of Saints.

Rejoice, father, glorious beauty of the fathers; Rejoice, wise kindness to all the God-wise.

Rejoice, you who utter fiery words; Rejoice, teach your flock well.

Rejoice, for through you faith is confirmed; Rejoice, for through you the heresy is being overthrown.

Rejoice, Nicholas, great Wonderworker.

By the power given to you from above, you took away every tear from the faces of those who were sorely suffering, God-bearing Father Nicholas: for you appeared to the hungry as a nourisher, to those in the depths of the seas as a great ruler, to those who were sick, healing and every helper appeared to everyone, crying out to God: Alleluia.

Ikos 3

Having truly, Father Nicholas, a song will be sung to you from Heaven, and not from earth: how can any man from man be able to preach your holy greatness? But we, overcome by your love, cry out to you:

Rejoice, repository of great virtues; Rejoice, holy and pure dwelling.

Rejoice, all-bright and all-loving lamp; Rejoice, golden and immaculate light.

Rejoice, banisher of unforeseen evils; Rejoice, wishing good things to the planter.

Rejoice, speedy consoler of those in trouble; Rejoice, terrible punisher of those who offend.

Rejoice, abyss of miracles, poured out by God; Rejoice, the tablet of the law of Christ, written by God.

O all-holy Nicholas, exceedingly saintly servant of the Lord, our warm intercessor, and everywhere in sorrow a quick helper! Help me, a sinner and a sad person, in this present life, beg the Lord God to grant me forgiveness of all my sins, which I have sinned greatly from my youth, in all my life, in deed, word, thought and all my feelings; and at the end of my soul, help me, the accursed one, beg the Lord God, the Creator of all creation, to deliver me from airy ordeals and eternal torment, so that I may always glorify the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit and your merciful intercession, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

How to join the prayer by agreement with the city of Bolgar

Father Vl. Golovin explains that in order to become a participant in the prayer by agreement, determine according to the schedule of akathists in Bolgar at what time is most convenient for you to pray.

It is important that no one or anything distracts you, that is, during this time, which is approximately 40-50 minutes, you are only for God and His Kingdom of God.

One participant, sharing her experience, says: “When I get up to pray by agreement, and in general, when I pray, even stones fall from heaven, I am at a reception with God. At first there were nerves and misunderstanding at home, nothing, now they already know - since mom is at prayer, we’ll wait.”

Regarding the financial side of the question - whether to donate money or not, Father Vladimir answers this way: there are no trade relations with the Lord. He is Love.

Feel free to join the congregational prayer, regardless of the availability of funds, and then, God willing, both the opportunity and the desire to donate will coincide. Therefore, there are no mandatory payments.

The Kingdom of God and the help of the Creator is acquired through non-material means, but through a sincere desire for prayerful communication with Him and representatives of the highest heavens.
