Pronunciation
In the transliteration below, ' is used to indicate schwa, which is similar/equivalent to ; the middle word is aleph, and the glottal stop; and in the middle of the word ayinvoiced pharyngeal fricative similar/equivalent to Arabic. Anytime `
used, it refers to ayin, whether the word is initial, middle or final. 'H/h' is used to indicate both, the English h sound, as in "hat"; and ḥes, a voiceless pharyngeal fricative equivalent to Arabic. Whenever "ḥ" is used, it refers to et. Resch is represented by the letter "r", although it is equivalent to the Spanish "r", Spanish "rr" or French "r", depending on the dialect. In all other respects, the transliterations conform to Sephardi tradition, with modern pronunciation of Hebrew.

Amida
"Standing [prayer]", also known as Shemoneh Esrech
("Eighteen"), consisting of 19 stanzas on weekdays, seven on Saturdays and 9 on Rosh Hashanah Mussaf.
This is an important component of Jewish services, and is the only service that the Talmud calls prayer
. It is said three times a day (four times on Saturdays and holidays and five times on Yom Kippur). The source for the Amida either parallels the sacrifices in the Temple or in honor of the Jewish ancestors.
The prayer is divided into 3 parts: blessings of praise to God, requests for our needs (or exalting the sanctity of the day on Shabbat and Yom Tov), and finally blessings of thanksgiving.
Praise
Avot | אבות | The first blessing of Amida describes God's election of the Jewish patriarchs and God's protection of them. Many non-Orthodox communities include matriarchs in this blessing. |
Gevurot | גבורות | The second blessing of Amida, describing God's power and God's dominion over the natural world. |
Kedushat Hashem | קדושת ה ' | The third blessing of Amida, confirming the holiness of God. During the repetition of the Amida, Kedusha is added. |
Average Blessings
On a regular weekday
There are 13 blessings that ask God for our needs. A small number of rabbis such as David Bar-Haim, based on passages from the Cairo Genizah, say here only 12 blessings. There were a number of additional blessings on fast days during the Talmud, and today in communities a 14th blessing is added to the repetition of hazzan on fast days.
Daat | דעת | Ask for wisdom and understanding. |
Teshuva | תשובה | Asking God to help us return to a Torah-based lifestyle. |
Selich | סליחה | Ask God for forgiveness. |
Geula | גאולה | We ask God to save the Jewish people from our misfortunes. On fast days, during the repetition of the Amida, Aneinu is spoken of here. |
Refua | רפואה | They ask for good health. |
Birkat Hashanim | ברכת השנים | Ask for blessings for the products of the earth. We also ask for the rain necessary to sustain life. In general, they also ask for income. During a drought, a special prayer for rain is added here. |

Mishpat | משפט | Ask God to judge us fairly and restore judges in Israel. |
Minimum | מינים | They ask to destroy heretical sects and informants. This blessing was later added to the Amidah and is blessing 19. |
Tzadikim | צדיקים | Ask God to help and support the righteous. |
Bone Yerushalayim | בונה ירושלים | They are asking for Jerusalem to be restored and restored to its former glory. On the day of Tisha B'av, the Nachem prayer is added here. |
Malchut, David's headquarters | מלכות בית דוד | Ask to restore the monarchy and make the descendants of David kings. In Palestinian tradition, this blessing was combined with the previous one to maintain 18 blessings. |
Shomea tefillah | שומע תפליה | We ask God to answer our prayers. Any additional requests can be added to this blessing. On fast days, Aneinu is added here in silent prayer. |
On Shabbat and Yom Tov

The Lord's Prayer in Hebrew (in Russian letters)
When the opportunity arises to move to another country, it is better to first turn to the Lord, reading foreign prayer words, but in Russian letters. This helps to develop an understanding of pronunciation features. If you immediately try to pronounce foreign prayer words, obvious mistakes may occur. Because of this, turning to God is done with the wrong message. This will not shorten the distance between the person praying and God.

In some Sephardic rites and in the German community originating from Frankfurt, this is done before drinking wine or eating bread, alone or with wine (for example, as is done before the Sabbath or holiday meal), at which time this blessing is recited:
After washing but before drying the hands, the following blessing is recited.
