Prayer to protect from all troubles
There are a number of powerful prayers that help against troubles and misfortunes:
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done as it is in heaven and on earth; Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one; For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
May God rise again
May God rise again, and may His enemies be scattered, and may those who hate Him flee from His presence. As smoke disappears, let them disappear; as wax melts in the presence of fire, so let demons perish from the face of those who love God and signify themselves with the sign of the cross, and who say in joy: Rejoice, Most Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, drive away the demons by force on you of our Lord Jesus Christ, who descended into hell and trampled upon the power the devil, and who gave us His Honest Cross to drive away every adversary. O Most Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Virgin Mary and with all the saints forever. Amen.
Powerful prayers for all occasions
The reasons why people pray can vary. Someone feels that his affairs have gone wrong, his health has worsened and asks the saints for strength. Some ask for mercy and divine direction. Someone asks for something specific: profit, success, love. There are powerful prayers for all occasions that help in any situation.
Throughout history, man has created a huge number of powerful prayers for all occasions. However, the word addressed to the Higher Powers must be endowed with life. Mechanical repetition of a prayer book will not help to achieve what is achieved with the help of sincerity coming from the heart. Many priests advise asking for forgiveness of sins, help in resolving complex problems and important issues with an unmemorized prayer.
Sometimes it is much more effective after “Our Father” to turn to God in words that come to mind. Such words have more power and are closest to the Lord. In essence, prayers are a divine template that every Christian is free to modify depending on the situation and his own intuition. However, not everyone succeeds in this. Not everyone is able to feel the word of God and learn to speak with Him in the same language. For such people there are strong Orthodox prayers, support for those who are just embarking on the true path.
Among them are various Christian appeals, a prayer to the Mother of God and the Lord God himself.
Prayer to the Mother of God for help
The most powerful prayers of the Most Holy One include “O Theotokos, Virgin, Rejoice.” This prayer, short and succinct, carries the words of an angel who appeared to Mary to notify her of the imminent birth of Jesus. “Virgin, rejoice” is one of the strongest requests for help from the Mother of God, helping in most of life’s troubles.
Another, not inferior to it in power, is “Prayer for help on the way . It relates not so much to the road, but to a person’s life path in general:
“Oh, my Most Holy Lady, Virgin Mary, Hodegetria, patroness and hope of my salvation! Behold, on the journey that lies before me, I now want to leave and for the time being I entrust to You, my most merciful Mother, my soul and body, all my mental and material powers, entrusting everything to Your strong gaze and Your all-powerful help. Oh, my good Companion and Protector! I earnestly pray to Thee, that this path may not creep; guide me on it, and direct it, O All-Holy Hodegetria, as She herself did, to the glory of Thy Son, my Lord Jesus Christ, be my helper in everything, especially in this distant and on a difficult journey, protect me under Your sovereign protection from all the troubles and sorrows that come our way, from enemies visible and invisible, and pray for me, my Lady, Your Son Christ our God, that He may send His Angel to help me, a peaceful, faithful mentor and guardian, yes just as in ancient times he gave food to His servant Tobias Raphael, in every place and at all times, keeping him on the road from all evil: thus, having successfully guided my path and preserved me with heavenly power, may he return me to health, peace and completeness to my home for glory Your Holy Name, glorifying and blessing Him all the days of my life, and magnifying You now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen".
Another prayer to the Mother of God is even more universal; it can be said in any situation.
Her words themselves are so sincere that while reading, you will feel how faith and tranquility endow your soul:
What should I pray to You for, what should I ask of You? You see everything, you know it Yourself: look into my soul and give it what it needs. You, who have endured everything, overcome everything, will understand everything.
You, who entwined the Baby in a manger and took Him with Your hands from the Cross, You alone know all the heights of joy, all the oppression of grief. You, who have received the entire human race as adoption, look at me with maternal care.
From the snares of sin, lead me to Your Son. I see a tear watering Your face. It’s over me You shed it and let it wash away the traces of my sins. Here I have come, I am standing, I am waiting for Your response, O Mother of God, O All-Singing One, O Lady!
I don’t ask for anything, I just stand before You. Only my heart, poor human heart, exhausted in longing for truth, I cast at Your Most Pure feet, Lady! Grant to all who call You to reach the eternal day by You and worship You face to face.
Christian prayers
The Orthodox Church does not divide religious calls into any classification. However, Christian prayers for all occasions themselves are divided into four types:
- Petitions containing the Lord's forgiveness for help in any situations.
- The repentant are called to express what has accumulated and cleanse the soul.
- Grateful - showing gratitude to higher powers for help.
- Praises glorifying the Lord and the saints.
The first type includes Psalm 90, calling for help and protection from evil influences:
“He who lives in the help of the Most High will dwell in the shelter of the Heavenly God. Says the Lord: Thou art my Protector and my Refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. For He will deliver you from the snare of the trap, and from rebellious words, His splash will overshadow you, and under His wing you hope: His truth will surround you with weapons. Do not be afraid from the fear of the night, from the arrow that flies during the day, from the thing that passes in darkness, from the cloak, and from the demon of the midday. Thousands will fall from your country, and darkness will fall at your right hand, but it will not come close to you, otherwise you will look at your eyes, and you will see the reward of sinners. For You, O Lord, are my hope, You have made the Most High your refuge. Evil will not come to you, and wound will not approach your body, as His Angel commanded you to keep you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their arms, but not when you dash your foot on a stone, step on an asp and a basilisk, and cross a lion and a serpent. For I have trusted in Me, and I will deliver, and I will cover, and because I have known My name. He will call to Me, and I will hear him: I am with him in sorrow, I will destroy him, and I will glorify him, I will fill him with long days, and I will show him My salvation.”
Repentance prayers include repentance to Jesus Christ:
“Master Christ God, who healed my passions with His passions and healed my ulcers with His wounds, grant me, who have sinned much to You, tears of compunction; dissolve my body from the charm of Your Life-giving Body, and delight my soul with Your Honest Blood from sorrow, with which the enemy gave me a drink; lift up my mind to You, which has fallen down, and lift me from the abyss of destruction: for I am not the imam of repentance, not the imam of tenderness, not the imam of comforting tears, leading children to His inheritance. Having darkened my mind in worldly passions, I cannot look to You in illness, I cannot warm myself with tears, even love for You. But, Master Lord Jesus Christ, treasure of the good, grant me complete repentance and a laborious heart to seek Thy, grant me Thy grace and renew in me the images of Thy image. Forsaken Thee, do not forsake me, go out to seek me, lead me to Thy pasture and number me among the sheep of Thy chosen Flock, educate me with them from the grain of Thy Divine Sacraments, through the prayers of Thy Most Pure Mother and all Thy saints. Amen".
For thanksgiving, there is an appeal to the Lord God himself:
“We thank Thee, Lord our God, for all Thy good deeds, even from the first age to the present, in us, Thy unworthy servants (names), who were, known and unknown, about those revealed and unmanifested, even those that were in deed and in word: who loved us Just as you deigned to give Your Only Begotten Son for us, make us worthy of Your love.
Grant with Your word wisdom and with Your fear inhale strength from Your power, and whether we have sinned, whether willingly or unwillingly, forgive and not impute, and keep our soul holy, and present it to Thy Throne, having a clear conscience, and the end is worthy of Thy love for mankind; and remember, O Lord, all who call upon Thy name in truth, remember all who desire good or evil against us: for all are men, and every man is in vain; We also pray to You, Lord, grant us Your great mercy.”
And finally, glorifying. In addition to the short “Glory to God,” which we say every day, there is also a canonical long text of praise:
“The council of saints, Angels and Archangels, with all the heavenly powers, sings to Thee, and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, heaven and earth are filled with Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. Save me, Who art thou King on high, save me and sanctify me, Source of sanctification; For from You all creation is strengthened, To You countless warriors sing the Trisagion hymn. Unworthy of you, who sits in the unapproachable light, whom everyone is terrified of, I pray: enlighten my mind, cleanse my heart, and open my lips, so that I may worthily sing to you: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord, always, now, and ever, and in endless centuries of centuries. Amen".
Prayer to the Lord God
The appeal to the Lord is also called the “Symbol of Faith,” and among all truly church ones it is the strongest. Its text is divided into twelve parts - twelve dogmas of the Orthodox faith. They speak about God the Father, about God the Son, about the Holy Spirit, the Church, baptism, the resurrection of the dead and eternal life.
The generally accepted Russian version reads like this:
I believe in one God the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only begotten, who was born of the Father before all ages; Light from Light, true God from true God, born, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, to Whom all things were.
For our sake, man and our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became human.
She was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried.
And he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures.
And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father.
And again the coming one will be judged with glory by the living and the dead, His Kingdom will have no end.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-Giving One, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who spoke the prophets.
Into one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the remission of sins.
I hope for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the next century. Amen".
In conclusion, it is worth noting that with age, each person sees the imprint of his life path more and more clearly. Everyone has certain priorities and passions. Therefore, before choosing whom to pray to, listen to yourself. Pray to the saint to whom your soul lies at the moment. Someone with whom you feel a special connection. It is not for nothing that many Orthodox families name their children in honor of the saints who patronize their birthdays. Thus, they place their children under the wing of saints, who reliably keep them throughout their lives.

As you know, in the Orthodox world there are quite a large number of revered saints. At the same time, there are also a huge number of miracles that the saints performed. With the help of prayer, many were healed from serious illnesses, and some found peace and happiness. Among all the saints, the miraculous icon of the Deliverer from troubles occupies a special place.
People from all over the world come to her to ask for help. In this article we will look in more detail at what this icon is, what it helps with, and how it came to be.
History of the image
The Icon of the Mother of God, Deliverer from Troubles, was on Holy Mount Athos until 1889, after which it was transferred to the New Athos Simono-Kananitsky Monastery, which is located in the Caucasus. The holy icon has been famous for its miracles since ancient times. There is a story that in 1840 in Greece, with the help of prayer at this icon, they got rid of the locust scourge.
The celebration of the “Deliverer” icon is set for October 17. This date is associated with the rescue of Emperor Alexander II, who, while traveling by rail, was wrecked under the station. Thanks to prayers, not only the emperor was saved, but also his entire family.
It should be noted that the name of the icon is based on the faith of Christians. This image of the Mother of God relieves all who turn to her in prayer from troubles and misfortunes. The icon is located in the village of Tashla, which is located in the Samarov region. This village is quite pious and was commanded by God to be the location of the Shrine.
It was in this place in 1917, before terrible trials, that the icon reminded of Himself. Moreover, it is in this village that there is a miraculous spring. People say that water from it heals many diseases. There is a story that says that the Queen of Heaven appeared to a native of the village of Tashla, who temporarily lived in a neighboring village, in a dream and indicated the place where her image had to be dug out of the ground.
The girl told two friends about her dream. They decided to fulfill the will of the Queen and went to the indicated place to dig. During this process, a fairly large number of people gathered nearby to look at what was underway. Some even laughed at them. And suddenly, at one moment, everyone froze. The icon of the girl began to be visible from the ground. When it was completely excavated, a spring with healing water began to flow from the place where the Holy Face was located.
This is how the Tashlin Icon of the Deliverer from Troubles was found. While the icon was being transferred from the place of discovery to the temple, the first healing occurred. The girl Anna, who was 32 years old, kissed her face and suddenly felt a surge of strength. At that moment people were overcome with great joy. The icon was placed in the middle of the temple for worship.
But soon the priest D. Mitekin arrived. The icon miraculously disappeared before his arrival and no one could find it. The second appearance of the holy image miraculously occurred in 1917. She was in the same place near the spring where she was dug up. Believers gathered at the spring, but miraculously the icon was not given to the holy father. Then the father fell to his knees and with tears in his eyes began to pray for the forgiveness of all his sins.
Since then, the icon of the Deliverer from troubles has not left the village of Tashla for a long time. Today, as mentioned above, the miraculous image is located in the New Athos Simon-Kananitsky Cathedral, which is located at the foot of the holy Mount Athos.

Miracles created
There are many stories about a miracle created by an icon. One of them tells how a boy named Anastasy fell ill with a serious and incurable disease. But despite all the efforts and struggle of the parents and the baby with the disease, the boy got worse and worse. Seeing that nothing was helping the child, the parents asked the priest to give the baby communion. But the priest did not have time to visit the patient, and the boy died.
On the way to the sick man, the priest invited Martianin with him. He brought with him the icon of the Deliverer from troubles. The priest, not giving himself any peace that he was late to the child, began, together with Martinian, to pray to the Mother of God and ask her to help resurrect the child. Throughout the prayer, the icon was on Anastasia’s body. Everyone asked for this: the priest, the elder and the parents.
After they finished reading the prayer, the elder christened the child’s face three times with the face of the Mother of God. And a great miracle happened - the baby came to life. He opened his eyes and began to breathe. And after he was given Holy Communion, he stopped getting sick.
What do they pray to the Holy Image for?
Orthodox believers suffering from many problems and illnesses come to the face of the Mother of God to ask for help. According to church beliefs, the Most Holy Theotokos helps only the prayers of pure-spirited people. People most often pray to the icon of the Deliverer from troubles:
- From getting rid of any addiction,
- From getting rid of the torment brought by the disease,
- About help in times of trouble,
- About getting rid of mental sadness.
The prayer to the icon of the Deliverer is read in these words:
Mother of God, our help and protection, whenever we ask, be our deliverer, we trust in You and always call upon You with all our souls: have mercy and help, have pity and deliver, incline Your ear and accept our sorrowful and tearful prayers, and as you wish, calm and give joy to us who love your Beginning Son and our God. Amen .
May the Lord protect you!
