7 most powerful prayers to St. Basil the Great - from night desecration, for success in business, for health, from demons and enemies, for intercession and help

Life of Saint Basil the Great

The saint's contemporaries mention him as a true Christian, a helper to many, a protector of the needy and the weak. Moreover, his actions spread far beyond the borders of one country. Basil the Great helped everywhere and was a teacher. He was born into a noble family, but numerous members of his family were zealous Christians and worshiped God. Among them were: hermits, bishops, and saints. The Saint's great-grandfathers and great-grandmothers suffered for belonging to religion and were persecuted.

So Vasily happened to follow the same path. But he did not immediately turn to God. Initially, he was destined for the path of an orator, a lawyer (like his father).

Moreover, the future Saint revered his parents,

and therefore, I listened to their admonitions and chose the recommended path in life.

However, the true Divine path was still determined, albeit with some delay. Thus, Vasily met Gregory the Theologian, who began to teach the righteous man religion. The future Saint approached asceticism and later went to wander the world. Upon his return, he joins the church and becomes a priest. From this moment, Basil the Great begins his path of becoming close to the Lord.

The saint begins to lead the diocese. At the same time he wrote his first major works. He made a significant contribution to the eradication of Arianism in the territory of Asia Minor (false teaching), which happened after Vasily took the place of metropolitan. He waged an anti-Arian struggle throughout his life; he even opposed the Tsar. The saint succeeded in many things, for example, maintaining the power of the church (thanks to the fact that his comrades-in-arms accepted major ranks).

But the Great Saint did not perform all these actions in the name of his glorification,

but for the purpose of opposing false teachings.

It is interesting that during his lifetime the righteous man led a very modest lifestyle. He sold his property and lived with Gregory the Theologian. The men carried this friendship throughout their lives. Their modest home had no roof or fireplace. They planted trees and cut stones. This helped strengthen the spirit and faith. Vasily wrote a collection of moral rules. In the monasteries that were being formed, he tried to create a special way of life - with elements of hermitage, in order to get even closer to God.

Vasily was strong in character in the face of injustice and false teaching, but meek before every person who did not oppose the formation of Orthodoxy. He was not afraid of exile and deprivation. He himself said that he has nothing and is not afraid of expulsion, because God is everywhere, which means there will be life everywhere.

Translation: The grace that shone like a fiery torch from your lips enlightened the universe; You have collected a treasure of non-possession for the world, you have shown us the height of humility. When reading the prayer to Basil the Great, one turns from desecration through the saint to the Lord. At the same time, the righteous person himself will pray to God for help.

Much-merciful, imperishable, blameless, sinless Lord,

cleanse me, Thy indecent servant, from all filthiness of the flesh and soul, and from my inattention and despondency, the uncleanness that has happened to me along with all my other iniquities,

and show me to those who are strangers to filth, O Master, according to the goodness of Thy Christ, and sanctify me by the influx of Thy Most Holy Spirit;

so that, having awakened from the darkness of the unclean ghosts of the devil and all filth, I may be worthy with a clear conscience to open my foul and unclean lips and sing Thy all-holy name, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and always, and unto the ages of ages.

Amen.

Prayer for success in business to Basil the Great

When reading the sacred words, the saint is magnified. For youths he is an example of obedience, for young men - an example of chastity, for husbands - hard work, for old people - kindness, for monks - abstinence. During his life, he taught to see God in everything and everywhere, this is facilitated by the power of love. The same should be asked after his death - teachings on how to strengthen faith. This will help in any matter. When reading the prayer, help is also sought in getting rid of envy and pride.

O great saint Basil the Great!

You have received many and varied gifts from the Lord, and like a good and faithful servant, you have multiplied all the talents given to you for good: for this reason, you were truly a universal teacher, as every age and every rank comes from you.

Behold, you appeared as an image of obedience to the youth, a luminary of chastity to the young, a mentor of hard work to the husband, a teacher of kindness to the old, a teacher of kindness to the monk, a rule of abstinence to those who pray, an inspired leader from God to those who have wisdom, an illuminator of the mind to those who have good words, the words of a living source are inexhaustible, to those who do good. - a star of mercy, to those in command - an image of righteous rule, a zealot of truth - an inspirer of boldness, an instructor of truth for the persecuted - patience: you were all, and you saved everyone.

Over all of these you have acquired love, which is the basis of perfection, and with that, as if by the power of the Divine, you have united all the gifts in your soul into one, and the reconciling love shared here, in the interpretation of the words of the apostles, you preached to all the faithful.

We are sinners, each one of us has his own gift, we are not imams of the unity of spirit into a union of peace, but we are vain, irritating each other, envious of each other: for this reason, our division, divided not into peace and salvation, but into enmity and condemnation, has turned over to us.

Therefore, we fall to you, the saint of God, overcome by discord, and in contrition of heart we ask:

With your prayers, drive away from our hearts all pride and envy that separates us, so that in many places we may remain one body of the Church without restraint, so that, according to your words of prayer, we will love each other and be of one mind and confess the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, the Trinity Consubstantial and Indivisible, now and ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer of Basil the Great to exorcise demons

Through the Saint you can be cleansed of evil spirits. You need to read an incantatory prayer. At the same time, the Lord and the army of God’s angels are called upon. The saint will come to the rescue along with the Power of the Word of God. Evil forces are expelled into the unmade, empty, waterless land. The prayer is read with periodic mention of the name of the servant of God in need of help.

I conjure you, the evil-doer of the blasphemous, the leader of the opposing uprising, and the creator of wickedness, I conjure you, cast down from the heavenly light-bearing, and for the sake of the darkness of the depths of the exaltation brought down.

I conjure you and all the fallen power consistent with your will:

I conjure you, unclean soul, by the God of hosts, and by all the host of the angels of God, Adonai Eloi of God Almighty, come out and be separated from the servant of God ( name ), I conjure you by God the Word who created everything, and by our Lord Jesus Christ, His Only Begotten Son, before the ages ineffable and dispassionately begotten of Him, who made visible and invisible creation, who created man in His image, who was the first natural law to guide children, and who preserved it by angelic command:

with water they drowned the sin from above, and the abysses of heaven were destroyed, and the giants who were unhonored were corrupted, and the pillar of the abominable was shaken, and the land of Sodom and Gomorrah was incinerated with terrible fire, whose witness the unquenchable smoke smokes;

with a rod we divided the sea, and led through the people with wet feet, and the tormentor of Pharaoh, and the army fighting against God, who forever drowned the battle with the waves of wickedness;

in the last days of the Pure Virgin, who incarnated inexpressibly, and preserved the intact seals of purity, to wash away with baptism our ancient filth, by which we were defiled by crime.

I conjure you to those who were baptized in the Jordan, and to us the image of incorruption in the water by grace who gave;

His angels and all the powers of heaven were amazed, the incarnation of God, the Humbled One, is seen, when the Beginningless Father, the beginningless Nativity of the Son is revealed, and the descent of the Holy Spirit, the Trinity Unity is testified.

I conjure you by Him who forbade the wind, and tamed the storm of the sea, drove away the demonic army, and made the eyes of the eye from the womb deprived of blind sight by clay, and Renewed the ancient creation of our race, and corrected the dumb hedgehogs:

He cleansed the scabs of leprosy, and He resurrected the dead from the graves, even before burial by man He spoke, and He captured hell by rebellion, and He established all humanity without death.

I conjure you by God Almighty, Who inspired the voice of man, and Who contributed to the apostle, and Who filled the entire universe of piety:

Fear, flee, flee, be separated from the unclean and nasty demon, the underworld, the deep, flattering, ugly, visible for the sake of lack of attention, invisible for the sake of hypocrisy,

where you are, or depart, or you yourself are Beelzebub, or shake, or serpentine, or animal-like, or like a pair, or like a bird, or a nocturnal, or deaf, or dumb, or frightening from an invasion, or torn to pieces,

or slander, or in a heavy sleep, or ill-natured, or in an ulcer, or in a mixture, or create lustful tears, or prodigal, or evil-smelling, or lustful, or sweet-inducing, or poison-loving, or lustful,

or the star-sorcerer, or the house-wizard, or the cold-hearted, or the inquisitive, or the fickle one, or changing with the month, or being converted by a certain time, or the morning one,

or midday, or midnight, or some godlessness, or shine, or you met by chance, or from whom you were sent, or you found it suddenly, or in the sea, or in the river, or from the earth,

or from a treasure trove, or from a rapid, or from a ditch, or from a lake, or from a reed, or from matter, or from the top of the earth, or from filth, or from a meadow, or from a forest, or from a tree, or from birds,

or from thunder, or from the cover of a bathhouse, or from a font of water, or from an idol’s tomb, or from someone unknown, or from someone unknown, or from those who are known, or from those who are unknown,

or from an unvisited place, separate yourself and change, being ashamed of the image created and imagined by the hand of God:

Fear the likeness of God incarnate, and do not hide in the servant of God ( name ), but an iron rod, and a fiery furnace, and tartar, and gnashing of teeth, the vengeance of disobedience awaits you.

Fear, be silent, flee, do not return, nor hide yourself with the wickedness of unclean spirits: but go into a waterless, empty, unmade land, where no man dwells:

God alone looks down on binding all those who hurt and speak evil of His image, and with chains of darkness, betraying to Tartarus, in the long night and day, to you all the evil tempters and inventors of the devil.

For great is the youth of God, and great is the glory of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.

Amen.

Prayer for health and healing

The prayer glorifies Basil the Great, who helps the suffering. Asks for peace in the Universe, protection for everyone. He also asks for mercy for those who have sinned and beg for repentance. They also ask for blessings. The full version of the prayer is large, it is better to read it, because memorizing it by heart will be difficult at first.

O great one in the hierarchy, God-wise teacher of the universe, blessed Father Basil!

Great are your deeds and labors, which you have accomplished for the glory of the Holy Church: you have been a strong confessor and a lamp of the faith of Christ on earth, illuminating the faithful with the light of God, scorching false teachings and proclaiming the word of saving truth to the whole world.

Now, having great boldness in Heaven towards the Holy Trinity, help us, who bow to you with humility, to firmly and invariably preserve the holy Orthodox faith until the end of our lives, and guard against lack of faith, doubt and hesitation in faith, so that we will not be seduced by those who are contrary to God and soul-destroying teachings in words.

The spirit of holy zeal, with which you blazed, O glorious shepherd of the Church of Christ, kindle with your intercession also in us, whom Christ has appointed to be shepherds, so that we may diligently enlighten and confirm in the right faith the verbal flock of Christ.

Pray to the Lord that our country may exalt itself and grant all our people health, longevity and good haste in everything.

Ask, O merciful saint, from the Father of lights and to all, every gift that is useful to everyone:

good growth in the Passion of God for the child, chastity for the young, strength for the old and weak, consolation for the grieving, healing for the sick, admonition and correction for those who have gone astray, intercession for the offended, protection for orphans and widows, grace-filled help for those who are tempted, blessed repose for our fathers and brothers who have departed from this temporary life.

To her, Holy One of God, look mercifully from the abodes on high upon us, the humble, overwhelmed by many temptations and misfortunes, and lead those who are devoted to the earth to the heights of Heaven.

Grant us, most good Father, your archpastoral and holy blessing, so that in this new summer and at all other times of our lives we will live in peace, repentance and obedience to the Holy Orthodox Church, diligently doing the commandments of Christ, fighting the good fight of faith, and Thus we will achieve the Kingdom of Heaven, where with you and all the saints we vouchsafe the Holy Trinity, Consubstantial and Indivisible, to sing and glorify forever and ever.

Amen.

Prayer from enemies and troubles

Protection from ill-wishers is provided through communion with God, by cultivating love for him. They do not ask for other benefits, but only heavenly ones. The prayer calls for protection from temptations, to teach one to resist them, just as the Saint himself could protect himself. When reading, they ask for protection from the evil slander of the enemy.

O great and most holy Father Basil, glorious teacher of the Ecumenical Church, all-zealous champion of the glory of the Most Holy Trinity, the Mother of God and Her most immaculate virginity, the chosen confessor, the most luminous image of purity, humility and patience.

Since I am a great sinner and unworthy to look up to the heights of heaven, I humbly pray to you, O wise teacher of the Church of Christ, teach me to lead my life in such a God-fearing way, so that I will never take a path that is contrary to God’s command, deviate or be seduced.

Protect and deliver me through your powerful intercession from the temptations of the world and the snares of the devil, just as you delivered from them the young man who retreated from our Sweetest Savior and fell into the power of Satan.

Grant me the spiritual strength to diligently be an imitator of your lofty virtues; Make me right in my faith, firm and unshakable, strengthen me, who is faint-hearted, in patience and trust in the Lord, kindle in my heart the true love of Christ, so that I desire heavenly blessings more than all others and enjoy them.

Ask me from the Lord for sincere contrition for my sins, so that I will spend the rest of my life in peace, repentance and fulfillment of the commandments of Christ.

When the hour of my death draws near, you, O blessed Father, with the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, then hasten to help, protect me from the evil slander of the enemy, and make me worthy of the heir to be the villages of paradise, and together with you and all the saints of God’s impregnable Majesty the Throne I will stand before the Life-Giving, Consubstantial and Indivisible Trinity, I glorify and sing, ever and ever.

Amen.
