Perspicacious holy elders of our time, living now

Elders occupy a special place in Orthodoxy. These are, as a rule, clergy, monks, whom the Lord himself chose to guide sinners on the true path, give valuable advice, share wisdom, heal from various diseases and help people in need.

Since ancient times, legends have been made about them. People believed that they were able to perform miracles, see and communicate with the Lord himself. Are there any elders living in our time, now, in 2019?

Famous elders of our time

For a long time, eldership in Orthodoxy has been a special institution of spiritual guidance. There are still people living in Russia and Ukraine who have the gift of clairvoyance. Not all monks accept visitors, but some of them can still be visited. Holy modern elders in Russia who are alive at this time:

  • Father German is the rector of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. Archimandrite is an amazing person with a kind heart. The Lord endowed him with the gift of casting out demons. There are known cases when those possessed by evil spirits were brought to him with their hands tied. Father Herman read a sermon and then saved people from their illness with the help of a special lecture.

Today we were “introduced” to another miracle worker, an active cleric of the Russian Orthodox Church and, as they say, a disciple of the “elder” Ioannikis from Chikhachevo, already known to us.

In the Murom diocese, in Vyazniki (Vladimir region), a certain “visionary” priest Sergius Brusilov serves, as they say, the great-grandson of the famous general Alexei Brusilov.

This is not the first year that pilgrims have been taking pilgrims to this seer and prayer book, because he is engaged in very important and saving matters - treatment with copies and reprimands from the evil eye and damage. This is how they write on one of the pilgrimage sites, which, as if in mockery, is called “Enlightenment”:

“There are great people who can exchange family traditions for something more important. Serving God or a military career, which was preferred by almost all members of the Brusilov family? Priest Sergius, the great-grandson of the famous General Brusilov, today serves as rector of the Trinity Church in the city of Vyazniki, Vladimir region.

Priest Sergius broke the Brusilov tradition. He made his choice. In our difficult times, when we Orthodox Christians are continually beset by spiritual warfare, and we only dream of peace, sometimes we need the help of a prayer priest, a priest who has the blessing to conduct a prayer service for the sick. Such a prayer service helps to remove the curse (unfortunately, we often began to curse each other). Evil eye, damage, envy, slander (envy and slander are equal to witchcraft in terms of influence). The Lord gave us such a “healer.”

Pilgrims from all over the country flock to the priest for prayer help. “Good morning, country,” this is how our priest greets him as he enters the church, generously distributing his blessing to everyone who wants it. The Divine Liturgy begins. Father Sergius himself conducts a general confession, listing and absolving us of our sins in detail, then gives us communion. And a prayer service for the sick begins. Father Sergius reads special, incantatory and very ancient prayers, reads each name written down for reprimand, treats each of us individually with a copy, and sprinkles holy water. At the prayer service, on a special table, you can put medicine (purchased by those who wish to do so themselves), and after the reprimand, you can take the medicine with you for treatment.

Freed from the power of sin, having tasted the Body and Blood of Christ, inspired and inspired by the hope of salvation, we are going home. It’s better to go to the priest more than once. Pilgrims come here not only for the Holy Liturgy, but also to see Father Sergius.

Many sick people came to him for healing and received what they asked for. Father Sergius’s charisma, his kind word, life and spiritual experience guide us on the right path - these are the main reasons for visiting the temple.”

The most important thing, of course, in advertising is “it’s better to travel more than once,” because you want to receive money regularly from simpletons (our miracle workers are now stunted, they are not able to heal in one go, they always require multiple approaches). For example, another pilgrim-fraud agency “Dobroput” takes pilgrims from Moscow to Brusilov for 4,300 rubles from the nose. There are enough people willing.

Does Bishop Nil (Sychev) that such miracle workers work close by, spreading obscurantism year after year? Apparently not. At least last year, Bishop Neil awarded Brusilov with a club. "A strong sorcerer, however."

Reviews for help

People who turned to the visionary elders in Moscow and the Moscow region share their impressions of the meeting to help others:

On Sunday, Father Eli held a service in the Moscow region (Peredelkino district). Then he approached people and gave instructions. Many thanks to him and good health! Helped my husband and I a lot. We arrived for the first time and got in right away.

Victoria

I was lectured by Father German. It helped in one go. In my temple they said that only he can help. There are no more priests in Moscow with such power.

glad

I went to Father Valerian Krechetov for confession and communion. Now it’s already difficult for the priest to conduct confession, but he conducts services and communicates with people. He often visits the Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia. This is next to the Church of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary. During Lent, he can almost always be found in church.

Brief lives of some elders

Unfortunately, some elders have already left our world. Priest Naum, who worked in the Sergius Trinity Lavra (Sergiev Posad, Moscow region) and Kirill Pavlov, a father serving in the Kaluga region, in the Borovsky monastery. They were also known for their visionary abilities, kind deeds and love for people.

Priest Nahum

It is worth noting that in our time you can meet people who call themselves “young old people.” These, unfortunately, are pure deceivers, in no way connected with the clergy and the Orthodox Church.

You can meet many young and inexperienced priests who allow themselves to be called the chosen elders. This is also pure quackery. Some of them even create sects in which nothing but perversion, intimidation, destruction of the psyche and money extraction occurs.

Actual information

Great elders are the same people. No person has yet been able to live eternal life in the material world. Everyone leaves sooner or later . Unfortunately, some clergy passed away not so long ago:

  • On February 2, 2018, Archpriest John Slugin, who served as a cleric at the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in Moscow, died. He was 77 years old;
  • On October 13, 2022, Elder Naum from the Trinity-Sergius Lavra passed away to God. Reviews of the clergyman were passed from mouth to mouth, many people dreamed of meeting him. The priest was one of the most revered elders of the Orthodox Church;
  • On February 20, 2022, Archimandrite Kirill passed away. At the time of his death he was 97 years old. The memories of people who were lucky enough to meet the elder formed the basis of the book. The editor of the publication was clergyman Viktor Kuznetsov;
  • On December 1, 2022, after a long struggle with the disease, Archimandrite Dionysius (Shishigin) died. Father was devoted to service until his very last days. He not only met people personally, but also transmitted sacred knowledge in his articles. His works can be found on major Orthodox resources. One of the most important creations of the archimandrite is the work “Patriarch Pimen and His Time,” to the writing of which he devoted part of his life;
  • Archimandrite Jerome (Shurygin), whose last years were spent in Chuvashia, departed to the Lord on August 28, 2013, on the day of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. But even now extraordinary phenomena are associated with it. People who came to his grave noticed that real miracles began to happen to them. Everything they sincerely asked for came true. The grave is located in the city of Alatyr, where pilgrims often visit it. The archimandrite was a resident of the Assumption Pskov-Pechersky Monastery for more than 40 years;
  • And pilgrimages do not stop at the burial place of the Saransk elder Theophan. Father Theophan was a very bright and sympathetic person; everyone who knew him during his lifetime loved the holy father. He was a confessor at the Makarovsky Ioannovsky Theological Monastery in Mordovia. Now people come to the elder’s grave, as before, for advice, help and healing. They say that miracles began to happen more often.

Blessed memory of the great elders, whose whole life was service to God and people. But those who need help should not despair. In Russia and Ukraine, those endowed with the gifts of the Lord are still alive and faithfully fulfilling their duty. Not one of those who turned to these wise people for support has yet regretted their decision.

However, it is worth thinking about the words of the old nun Matrona. She argued that before going to the elder, she should pray to the Lord to give him the correct answer to the question. One way or another, the future depends not only on the orders of the sages, but also on whether these advice will be followed.

Father Iliy Nozdrin

The elder serves in the Church of the Transfiguration in Peredelkino. He is known among the laity as the "messenger of God." Many who spoke with Elder Ilya Nozdrin indicate that incredible peace and inner light emanate from him. Pilgrims claim that for a long time after communicating with this monk they feel the influence of his light power.

Novices and laity say that Father Ilya Nozdrin almost immediately understands the trouble with which a person came to him, and provides spiritual support in solving the problems that have arisen.
