Like a bright star,/ you appeared in the Russian land, in the city of Kashin,/ the venerable mother Anno,/ in all pious and faithful wives/ like krin, you flourished with your pure and immaculate life I believe/ in the nuns your labors and exploits were accomplished,/ and You ascended to the Highest City, rejoicing and having fun,/ as having completed your course well,/ and now your honest relics,/ like a precious bead, appear,/ for the healing of all who come from the world swarm./ Thus we cry to you:/ Rejoice, all-red one soul, / and pray to Christ God // for the salvation of our souls.

There are several revered married couples in Orthodoxy. Most often they turn to Joachim and Anna with their innermost desires. Even after many centuries, people never cease to be amazed at the strength and loyalty of this couple. And crowds of pilgrims in a line reach out to them for help: some ask to find their other half, and someone reads a prayer to the righteous Joachim and Anna about conceiving a child.
Lives of the Saints
These people are better known to us as the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In those days, marriage was recognized by the public only after the birth of a child. This was the harsh law of the Jews.
But it was this family that put an end to this tradition. At that time, childbearing was considered a duty. If for some reason a woman could not give birth, then her husband could leave her and find someone else.
Due to certain circumstances, this happened to Anna. Despite this, her husband did not turn away from her and did not stop loving her.
All this time he was faithful to her, even when the most influential men in society disowned him.
They lived in Nazareth. They led a righteous lifestyle, but were very worried about being childless. Initially, they were only subjected to contempt, but then all this turned into open humiliation.
One day the husband came to the temple and wanted to make a sacrifice, but the high priest refused to accept it and he was forced to leave the premises in shame.
The greater their despair in this matter, the more often they offered their petitions to the Lord.
Preparing to find a long-awaited child, they began to pray even more and do good deeds, because they wanted to be worthy of this child. After the birth of the girl, God's grace descended on them.
When they first brought her to the temple, she was 3 years old, and they were already over 80. Very soon their father died. The mother moved to Jerusalem, where she also died soon after.
Despite any trials, they carried love and loyalty to each other throughout their lives and were generously gifted by the Lord for this.
What do the Holy Family ask for?
Most often, at the lyre you can hear a prayer to Joachim and Anna for the gift of children. After all, no one else can understand the grief that couples experience due to the lack of children.
The most important thing when making a request is sincerity and a firm belief in a positive result.
The spouses must withstand any test that the Lord sends them and not deviate from their intended goal, and then he will definitely send them such a long-awaited child, regardless of their age.
They are also asked about:
- cure for infertility,
- soon and happy marriage,
- marital understanding.
Remembrance days are August 7, September 22 and December 22. There is even evidence that representatives of other faiths also turn to them.
Since they are also a model of fidelity and love, the prayer to Joachim and Anna for marriage also applies to them.
“Oh, blessed righteous women of Christ, holy godfathers Joachim and Anno, standing before the Heavenly Throne of the Great King and having great boldness towards Him, as from your Most Blessed Daughter, the Most Pure Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, who deigned to be incarnate! To you, as a powerful representative and zealous for us prayer book, we resort to sins and unworthiness. Pray for His goodness, that He may turn away His anger from us, righteously moved against us by our deeds, and may, despising our countless sins, turn us to the path of repentance, and may He establish us on the path of His commandments.
Also, with your prayers, preserve our life in the world, and in all good things, ask for good haste, all that we need from God for life and piety, granting us from all misfortunes and troubles and sudden deaths through your intercession, and protecting us from all enemies, visible and invisible, for let us live a quiet and silent life in all piety and purity, and having passed this temporary life in the world, we will achieve eternal peace, where, through your holy prayer, may we be made worthy of the Heavenly Kingdom of Christ our God, to whom, together with the Father and the Most Holy Spirit, belongs all glory , honor and worship forever and ever. Amen."
Remember that before you ask for anything, you should thank a higher power for what we already have.

Biblical prophet
The coming of the Baptist to the region is described in the Gospel of Luke. The Evangelist indicates that his parents were righteous people - the priest Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth. The birth of John was predicted to Zechariah by the Archangel Gabriel himself, just like the birth of Jesus Christ. Zechariah was of advanced years when the Arkharovite told him unexpected news, and the couple had only unimportant (= unimportant) children.
Zechariah did not believe the appearance of the Archangel Gabriel, and for some reason he was punished with muteness. The elder could speak only after the birth of his son and his name John, something in Aramaic that means grace. Zechariah wrote the title John on a clay tablet, and only after that did God open his mouth. The relatives wanted to declare the baby Zechariah in honor of his father, but the elder prevented this and determined the nomenclature that was told to him in a vision by the Archangel Gabriel.
Zechariah was killed by Herod's soldiers, another time they were looking for the newborn Jesus. Elizabeth and baby John were able to hide inside the mountain by praying to God. For forty days Elizabeth and John remained in hiding, subsisting on dates and water from a stream. After this, Elizabeth died, and the baby was raised by the archangel.
As John grew up, he ate locusts (wild ants) and wild honey. He wore a cape made of camel's hair, and his entire habit expressed righteousness and asceticism. When the Forerunner appeared in the desert and began to predict, the Jews recognized him as the prophet Elijah, who was taken up to heaven alive. John was very similar to Elijah, thanks to this the Jews came to listen to him and believed all his words.

During the Age of Catherine, the people every day expected the coming of the Messiah, who would save them from Roman despotism. People listened to the words of the prophet with great trepidation; in this case, he foreshadowed the fulfillment of what they wanted - the coming of the Messiah. John absolved those who repented of their sins and washed them through the waters of the Jordan. Therefore he was called the Baptist.
Once Jesus appeared among the people to humbly take a bath in the Jordan from the prophet. John immediately recognized the Mission in him and said that he was absolutely not worthy to untie the straps on his sandals. But Jesus answered that one must do what is foretold. At that moment, the High Spirit descended on the Savior in the form of a dove and the words of the Lord were heard:
Having baptized Jesus, John continued to prophesy in the wilderness. After some time, he was placed in prison by Herod because of the conviction of his sin of adultery with his brother's wife. The crazy woman decided to get even with John for exposing him to sin and deceived Herod. She persuaded her child Salome to dance at a great feast in honor of the king's birthday. After dancing an erotic dance, Salome begged the king for the head of the Baptist. Herod could not break the word given publicly, and ordered the prophet’s head to be cut off. Thus died Wodan, one of the greatest prophets of Judea, who baptized the Lord and Savior himself.
With the coming of the prophet John, the Old Testament mess of the Jewish people ends and a new covenant opens - the prophecy about the Messiah, the Savior of all people, receive and sign the earth. He heralded the arrival of a new era in the history of mankind; in some cases, the path of salvation opens to any person.
The future princess saw her husband for the first time only at the wedding
Princess Anna was the daughter of Dmitry Borisovich of Rostov. Chroniclers do not report the exact date of birth of the princess. However, T.I. Manukhina resorts to an approximate calculation: since girls got married at the age of 15-17, and the princess’s marriage to Mikhail Tverskoy took place, in her opinion, in 1294, therefore, Anna could have been born in 1278 or 1279. Anna’s great-grandfather is the prince Vasilko of Rostov, captured by the Tatars in 1238 on the river. City, angrily rejected the offer to come over to their side and was killed; Grandfather Boris and his brother Gleb ruled peacefully for 40 years. Maternal grandfather - Prince Mikhail of Chernigov - died heroically in the Horde for the Christian faith, refusing to bow to Mongol idols; Michael's daughter, Princess Maria of Rostov, according to D.S. Likhacheva, was the first female chronicler.
Anna grew up in the traditions of a strong Orthodox faith, love for the Church, reverence for the clergy and the “monastic rank,” and the traditions of Rostov. Bishop Ignatius, as the head of the Rostov diocese and Anna's confessor, was close to the princely house. Anna was taught firm faith by the living example of Bishop Ignatius.
