  • My daughter and her friends listen to these songs by Lyudmila Markovna in distant Austria, but their Austrian husbands and friends do not understand why Russian girls cry.
  • My son and many of his friends cannot calmly listen to these songs. for some reason. My son never told me why.
  • My husband and brother curtly wipe away a tear and leave. they say they can't watch women cry.
  • I always liked Lyudmila Markovna, or rather, like many others....she was not my favorite in art
  • BUT one day I heard her perform the song “Please don’t die!” and I saw in Lyudmila Markovna a huge heart and unbearable suffering. From that moment on, she became a spiritually close person to me.
  • I had to go through my beloved niece with the same misfortune as Lyudmila Markovna’s beloved grandson, Mark.

  • And some of their daughters did not return. moms. grandmothers. sisters.

Brief biography of Gurchenko

Lyudmila Markovna was born in the city of Kharkov, at that time still in the Ukrainian SSR. She received this name thanks to her father and an American film. The thing is that the father was very worried when his wife went to the maternity ward, and in order to distract himself a little, he went to the cinema.

The main characters in the film were called Alan and Lucy. After the end of the session, Mark Gavrilovich went to the maternity hospital and left Elena a note, it said: “My dear! If I have an eagle, name him Alan, and if I have a girl, name him Lucy.”

Lyudmila’s family lived quite poorly; they lived in a room with one window, through which only the legs of people passing by the house could be seen. At that time, the favorite pastime of the still little future star of the USSR was guessing his neighbors by their shoes. Probably, in any situation, childhood seems to be the most joyful and bright period of life, despite various difficulties, poverty and inconveniences.

Lyudmila Markovna always sang, and did so even during the Second World War. Thanks to this, she managed to survive in such a difficult time; she could always earn a bowl of soup with her talent. When the young artist performed at small matinees, everyone around Mark Gavrilovich told the girl not to give up this business, and she would definitely become an artist. My father never denied this and said: “It will definitely happen.”

Lyudmila Gurchenko first became known to Soviet audiences in 1956, when she made her debut in the film “The Road of Truth,” and in the same year the film “Carnival Night” was released. It was after her that all-Union fame fell on the young artist. At that time, she was a truly happy person, and this joy was transmitted to all viewers who watched on TV screens and in cinemas.

Lyudmila Gurchenko’s song “Prayer,” which tells about her son, was written in 1996, but it was included in the album “Life is like smoke” in 2004. Fans of the artist’s work loved her so much that a year later Fyodor Bondarchuk made a video.

It was also performed repeatedly by other artists such as: Yulia Savchenko, Evelina Bledans, Olga Kormukhina. When this piece was played, many women in the audience began to cry, many of them had been in a situation where their child was in war, and many simply understand how scary it is. Moreover, Lyudmila Gurchenko sang a prayer for her son with such sensuality that even the most callous person fully delved into the text and experienced all the emotions that the artist was trying to convey.
