Original lyrics and lyrics of the song In Your Kingdom:

In Your Kingdom, remember us, O Lord, when You come to Your Kingdom.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for to them is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are those who cry, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Blesseds of mercy, for there will be mercy. Blessed are those who are pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for these shall be called sons of God. Blessed is the expulsion of truth for the sake of them, for those are the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when they revile you, and ridicule you, and say all sorts of evil things about you lying to Me for my sake. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is many in heaven . In Russian:

In Your Kingdom, remember us, O Lord, when You come into Your Kingdom. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when they slander you and persecute you and slander you in every way unrighteously for My sake. Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven.

Bless the Lord, my soul, blessed be the Lord.

Psalm 102

Bless, my soul, the Lord, and all that is within me, His holy name. Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget all His rewards, who cleanses all your iniquities, heals all your ailments, delivers your belly from corruption, crowns you with mercy and bounty, fulfills your desire for good: your youth will be renewed like an eagle. The Lord grant alms and destiny to all those who are offended. Moses told His way to the sons of Israel His desires: The Lord is generous and merciful, long-suffering and abundantly merciful. He is not completely angry, he is at enmity forever, he did not create food for us because of our iniquities, but he rewarded us with food because of our sins. As the height of heaven from the earth, the Lord established His mercy on those who fear Him. The east is far removed from the west, and our iniquities have been removed from us. As a father gives generously to his sons, the Lord will provide for those who fear Him. As He knew our creation, I will remember, as the dust of Esma. Man, like the grass of his days, like the flower of the field, will bloom like the spirit that has passed through him, and he will not be, and no one will know his place. The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness is on the sons of sons, who keep His covenant and remember His commandments to do. The Lord has prepared His Throne in Heaven, and His Kingdom possesses everyone. Bless the Lord, all His angels, mighty in strength, who do His word, to hear the voice of His words. Bless the Lord, all His Powers, His servants who do His will. Bless the Lord, all His works, in every place of His dominion.

Psalm 145

Praise the Lord, my soul. I will praise the Lord in my belly, I will sing to my God as long as I am. Do not trust in princes, in the sons of men, for in them there is no salvation. His spirit will depart and return to his land. On that day all his thoughts will perish. Blessed is the God of Jacob, his Helper, whose trust is in the Lord his God, who created the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything in them, who preserves the truth forever, who brings judgment to the offended, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord will decide the chained ones. The Lord makes the blind wise. The Lord raises up the downtrodden. The Lord loves the righteous. The Lord protects strangers, He will accept the orphan and the widow, and He will destroy the path of sinners. The Lord your God will reign forever in Zion, forever and ever.

Symbol of faith

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only begotten, who was born of the Father before all ages. Light from Light, true God from true God, born, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father, to Whom all things were. For our sake, man and our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became human. She was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried. And he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. And ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father. And again the coming one will be judged with glory by the living and the dead, His Kingdom will have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-Giving One, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who spoke the prophets. Into one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. I hope for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the next century. Amen.

1 I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, of all things, visible and invisible. 2 And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, unmade, of one essence with the Father, through whom all things were made. 3 For our sake, people, and for our salvation, who came down from heaven, and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man. 4 He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried. 5 And rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures. 6 And ascended into heaven, and sat at the right hand of the Father. 7 And He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end. 8 And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father, together with the Father and the Son, alike worshiped and glorified, who spoke through the prophets. 9 Into one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. 10 I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins. 11 I look forward to the resurrection of the dead, 12 and to the life of the age to come. Amen.

Weaken, forgive, forgive, O God, our sins, voluntary and involuntary, / in word and in deed, / in knowledge and in ignorance, / in days and in nights, / in mind and in thought, / all Forgive us, for you are Good and Lover of Humanity.

Relax, forgive, forgive, God, our sins, voluntary and involuntary, committed in deed and word, consciously and out of ignorance, night and day, in mind and thought - forgive us all, as the Good One and the Lover of Humanity.

Our Father.

Then on holidays the kontakion of the holiday is read; if the memory of a saint is also celebrated, then first the kontakion is read to him, then Glory, and now: the holiday. On non-holiday days and during fasting, when “Alleluia” is sung, first the kontakion of the Transfiguration or the Temple of Christ is read (on Wednesday and Friday - to the Holy Cross), then the day of the week, the holy temple, the holy day, and then:

Kontakia of the holiday.

Lord have mercy. (12)

All-Holy Trinity, Consubstantial Power, Undivided Kingdom, all good wines: be kind to me, a sinner, confirm, enlighten my heart and remove all my filth. Enlighten my thought, let me praise, sing, and worship, and say: One is Holy, One is Lord, Jesus Christ to the glory of God the Father, amen

All-Holy Trinity, consubstantial Sovereignty, indivisible Kingdom, Creator of all good things! Be kind to me, a sinner: strengthen, enlighten my heart and remove all filth from me, enlighten my thoughts, so that I can always glorify, sing, worship and exclaim: “One is Holy, one is Lord, Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father.” . Amen.

Blessed be the name of the Lord from now to eternity. Three times. Glory, and now:

Psalm 33

I will bless the Lord at all times; I will make His praise in my mouth. My soul will glory in the Lord, that the meek may hear and rejoice. Magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together. Seek the Lord and hear me, and deliver me from all my sorrows. Come to Him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be ashamed. This beggar cried out, and the Lord heard and saved him from all his sorrows. The Angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear Him and deliver them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Nan. Fear the Lord, all your saints, for there is no hardship for those who fear Him. Those who are poor and hungry are rich, but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good. Come, children, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is a person who loves life and sees good things? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking flattery. Avoid evil and do good. Seek peace, and get married, and... The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are upon their prayer. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to consume their memory from the earth. The righteous cried out, and the Lord heard them, and delivered them from all their sorrows. The Lord is near to those who are broken in heart, and will save those who are humble in spirit. Many are the sorrows of the righteous, and the Lord will deliver me from all of them. The Lord protects all their bones; not one of them will be broken. The death of sinners is cruel, and those who hate the righteous will sin. The Lord will deliver the souls of His servant, and all who trust in Him will not sin.

I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise will always be on my lips. Let my soul glory in the Lord, that the meek may hear and be glad. Magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my sorrows. Come to Him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be ashamed. This beggar cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him from all his sorrows. The Angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear Him and deliver them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him. Fear the Lord, all you His saints, for there is no shortage of those who fear Him. The rich became poor and began to starve, but those who seek the Lord will not tolerate the need for any good. Come, children, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the person who wants to live, who wants to see good days? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech. Turn away from evil and do good, seek peace and strive towards it: the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are on their prayer; but the face of the Lord is upon those who do evil, to destroy the memory of them from the earth. The righteous cried out - and the Lord heard them, and delivered them from all their sorrows. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and humble in spirit and will save. The righteous have many sorrows - and the Lord will deliver them from all of them. The Lord protects all their bones; not one of them will be broken. The death of sinners is evil, and those who hate the righteous will sin. The Lord will deliver the souls of His servants, and all who trust in Him will not sin.

Priest: Wisdom.

Priest: Glory to Thee, Christ our God, our Hope, glory to Thee.

At the conclusion of the Fine Sequence, the priest pronounces a small dismissal.

Chorus: Lord, have mercy (three times).

The history of the akathist to the passion of Christ

The order of services during the annual cycle is determined by the Typikon (Orthodox church charter). In the 17th century, thanks to the Kyiv Metropolitan Peter (Mogila), a new service appeared and became widespread, called Passion (“suffering” in Latin). It was borrowed from Catholic worship, translated into Church Slavonic and transformed according to the Orthodox rite.

The purpose of passion is to strengthen the spirit of the Orthodox believer during Lent, when the human enemy most strongly tempts the Christian. The rank is not included in the Orthodox Typikon. Each diocese has its own tradition of holding it.

Passion is celebrated in Orthodox churches 4 times (according to the number of evangelists) every Sunday/Friday of Pentecost. During the service, excerpts from the Gospel about the last three earthly days of the Savior and “Akathist to the Passion of Christ” are read.

The akathist tells about the events that happened to Jesus Christ on Holy Wednesday, Holy Thursday and Good Friday:

  • Betrayal of Judas and arrest.
  • Judgment. The verdict was pronounced by the Sanhedrin (Jewish court), approved by the ruler of Judea, Herod Antipas, and then by the representative of Rome, the procurator Pontius Pilate. Bullying of Roman soldiers.
  • Crucifixion and death.

The Passion of the Lord is described in detail. It tells about the feelings that the Son of God experienced before his arrest, during prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, beating, on the way to Calvary and in his death throes. The Passion also mentions Holy Saturday, when Jesus descended into hell and freed the Old Testament captives of Satan.

During the mournful and at the same time solemn service, the Crucifixion is brought out as a symbol of the Savior’s suffering.

Sources indicate two archbishops as the authors of the text of the akathist: Peter (Mogila) of Kyiv and Innocent (Borisov) of Kherson. There is a time gap of 2 centuries between the saints. Both saints became famous for strengthening the Orthodox Church and for their outstanding liturgical and preaching activities.

Initially, “Akathist to the Passion of Christ” was borrowed from the Western Ukrainian Uniate collection, translated and partially revised in Kyiv in the 17th century. In the 19th century, Archbishop Innokenty (Borisov) reworked the prayer in more detail and decided to use it in local churches, since the akathist had a strong impact on believers. At services, the akathist indicated in Borisov’s hymnography is read.

The service is dedicated to the suffering of Jesus on the cross, so that believers better feel the atoning sacrifice of the Messiah and prepare spiritually for the bright holiday of Easter.
