How to bless water at home so as not to go to church: the priest told all the details

Today, priests in all Russian cities are calling on Orthodox Christians to refrain from visiting churches, even on such major holidays as Easter and Palm Sunday. Personally, I will adhere to this recommendation and will not violate quarantine. I’m also not going to forget about faith in God: I will definitely bless the water at home in the old way, which the local priest told me about, and then sprinkle it on the willow branches (I will also bless the willow branches myself on April 19th of Easter).

What is needed for the ceremony

To carry out the ceremony, you need to take simple drinking water. If you decide to draw it from the tap, be sure to let it sit for a while. The container should be comfortable. The priest said it is best to use a jar or jug. Separately, stock up on a church candle - it should be lit while reading the prayer. It is also advisable to use a silver cross (this can be an Orthodox body amulet).

It is advisable to carry out the ceremony of consecration of water in front of household icons.

Who can perform the ceremony

The priest drew my attention to the fact that only a baptized person who deeply believes in God should perform the ceremony of consecrating water - only in this case will the holy water be endowed with healing powers. The person must wear a cross (ideally if it is made of silver).

If you doubt your own strength, invite a more religious person to do this - let him just be present (he doesn’t have to read the words of the prayer himself or repeat the words of the prayer).

When to bless an apartment

There are rooms that are considered unclean. These are houses in which there was a lot of drinking, fighting, and debauchery. Perhaps they were inhabited by people who did not believe in God, who practiced fortune telling and magic. Such apartments are not only immersed in negative energy, they are often inhabited by demons. Residents will never be happy in such conditions. A house necessarily requires consecration in the following cases:

  • its residents are constantly sick and feel a loss of strength;
  • Difficulties constantly arise in family life;
  • when children grow up in the apartment;
  • if poltergeist phenomena occur.

The room is sanctified even when non-believers live in it. They do this in their absence. Prayer for the consecration of an apartment is a powerful amulet that will be useful to every person.

The Orthodox Church also recommends performing the ritual for new homes. They perform it following the example of the consecration of churches. It is allowed to perform all types of worship in the apartment, except for the Divine Liturgy and the sacrament of the priesthood.

How to cast a spell on water

Holy water becomes holy only after a sacred ritual, which involves reading a special prayer over the container with it.

The first thing you need to do is place a lighted candle on the table in front of the icon, cross yourself while looking at the icon, and then read the “Our Father,” the prayer to the Holy Trinity or the prayer to the Heavenly King (any one you choose, their texts are presented below).

After reading any of these prayers, you need to cross yourself three times, lower the silver cross into the water and begin to say a prayer to bless the water (during the entire time of reading it, the cross should be kept in the water).

After reading the prayer, the water will be considered consecrated - now it can be used for its intended purpose.

Chapter 49. The rite of blessing the campan, the sound of a bell or ringing

The priest, dressed in a phelonion, begins:

Blessed be our God: Face: Amen. Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee. To the Heavenly King: Trisagion according to Our Father. Lord, have mercy, 12. Glory, and now: Come, let us worship: three times. And Psalm 142: Lord, hear my prayer: Glory, and now: Alleluia, three times.

The priest or deacon also says this litany about the sick:

Let us pray to the Lord for peace.

For the servant of God (or the servant of God), name, and for the hedgehog to forgive him (or her) every sin, voluntary and involuntary, and to be merciful to him (or her), let us pray to the Lord.

For soon, like a centurion's youth, Canaanite's daughter and Peter's mother-in-law, with the word of His power He will mercifully heal, and raise him (or you) from his sickness, let us pray to the Lord .

O the hedgehog, as sometimes the weakened one, with the word of His Divine grace, will soon be raised from the bed of illness, and made healthy (or healthy), let us pray to the Lord.

Let us not despise the diligent prayer of our servant (or our servant), but mercifully hear and have mercy on him (or you) and give him (or her) health, let us pray to the Lord.

To visit him (or her) with the visitation of His Holy Spirit, and to heal every ailment and every disease nesting in him (or in her), for the glory of His name, help the Lord Let's pray.

Oh, mercifully, like the Canaanite, hear the voice of the prayer of us unworthy servants crying out to Him: and like your daughter, have mercy and heal your sick servant (or pain I love my servant) name, let us pray to the Lord.

Intercede, save, have mercy, and preserve Your servant (or Your handmaid) name, and us, God, by Your grace.

Lik: Lord have mercy.

Most Holy, Most Pure:

Exclamation: For due to You is all glory, honor and worship, to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and to the ages of ages.

Lik: Amen.

And the Abiye sing: God is the Lord and He has appeared to us: Voice 4.

Verse: Heal me, Lord, for my bones are crumpled, and my soul is greatly troubled.

Troparion, the same voice:

Speedy in intercession is the One Christ, show speedy visitation from above to your suffering servant (or your suffering servant), deliver ailments and bitter illnesses: raise up in him Sing and praise Thee unceasingly, with the prayers of the Mother of God, the One Lover of Mankind.

Glory: Look mercifully, Lord, with Your merciful eye on our humble prayer, and without despising it, humanely visit the illness of Your servant (or Your handmaid), us now the one who falls to you (or falling), and by the power of Your mercy raise him up (or u) by the prayers of the Mother of God, the One Lover of Mankind.

And now: Warm prayer, and the invincible Wall, the Source of mercy, the world’s Refuge, we diligently cry out to You: Mother of God, Lady, advance, and deliver Your servant (or Your servant) from troubles yu), one who will soon appear.

Therefore Psalm 50: God, have mercy on me:

They sing Abiye, or the priest himself reads this canon, voice 3:

Song 1.

Irmos: Crossing the sea with a rod of old, Israel walked like through the desert, and prepared the paths in the shape of a cross. For this reason let us sing in praise to our wonderful God: for you have been glorified.

Verse: Lord, do not rebuke me with Your wrath, but punish me with Your wrath.

On the day of sorrow that has come upon us, to You, O Savior, we ask Your mercy: ease the illness of Your servant (or Your handmaid), say to us as well as to the centurion: Hello there is your boy.

Verse: Lord, have mercy on me, for I am weak.

We offer prayers and supplications, with sighing and faith, crying to You: Son of God, have mercy on us, and raise us from the bed of the lying (or lying) as if weakened by the word, river: take up about yours, and your sins are forgiven.

Glory: To your image, O Christ, we bow down to your likeness, we kiss you with faith, and to the sick (or sick) we ask for health, imitating the one who is bleeding, even when we cry out to your garments when we touch , there is a cure for the disease.

And now, the Mother of God: Most Pure Lady Theotokos, the Helper known to all, do not despise us who fall to You, but pray for Your Good Son and our God to grant health to the sick (or sick), and glorify You with us.

Song 3.

Irmos: And from those who are not all brought, created by the Word, accomplished by the Spirit, O Almighty Most High, confirm me in Thy love.

Verse: Heal me, O Lord, for my bones are crushed, and my soul is greatly troubled.

From serious illnesses to the earth, those who are devoted to You, Christ, cry out to us: grant health to the body, just as Hezekiah wept to You.

Verse: And You, Lord, how long? Turn, Lord, deliver my soul.

Look at our humility, and do not remember our iniquities, but for the sake of faith, for the sake of the sick (or sick) like a leper, heal with your words, so that Your name, Christ, may glorify.

Glory: You have already sanctified the Church, not allowing it to be reproached: raise up invisibly on the bed of sickness the one who is lying (or lying) who prays to You, so that they may not speak of infidelity, where their God is.

And now: To You, Mother of God, lifting up your hands, we cry out, hear Your servants’ prayer, and save the one lying (or lying) in illness, so that, having risen (or having risen) from illness, he will repay the vows in sorrow the verb of his (or her) mouth.

Therefore the priest, or deacon, says this litany:

God have mercy on us:

We also pray, Healer of soul and body, and with tenderness we fall to You in a contrite heart, and we cry out groaningly: heal the disease, heal the passions of the soul and body of Your servant (or Your servant) ́), name, and forgive him (or her) as the Benevolent One sins, voluntary and involuntary, and quickly recover from the wounds of illness, and hear mercifully, and quickly have mercy.

Exclamation: For You are the Source of healings, and the Giver of good things, Christ our God, and to You we send glory, with Your beginningless Father, and Your Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit , now and forever, and to the ages of ages.

Lik: Amen.

Sedalen, voice 8.

Just as you raised up Peter’s mother-in-law of old, and you saved the weakened carrier on his bed, so now visit your sick servant (or your sick servant), by mercy: You are You are the only one who bears the ailments of our generation, and You are the only one who is patient and merciful and merciful Physician of the souls and bodies of Christ our God, who heals ailments, and restores and gives forgiveness to those who repent of sins, the only Merciful and All-Merciful.

Glory, voice 7: I, a sinner, weep on my bed, grant forgiveness, O Christ God, for my sin, which from my youth I created, and from illness raise me up, that I may glorify Thee the only all-merciful soul and body of the Doctor.

And now: have mercy, O Lady, and lift me up from the sickness, for my strength within me is weak, and I am overcome by all hopelessness: Most Pure Mother of God, heal me. Good luck, You are the Helper of Christians.

Song 4.

Irmos: Thou hast laid down the steadfast love of the Lord for us, for Thou hast given Thy Only Begotten Son to die for us. Moreover, we call upon Thee with thanksgiving: glory to Thy power, Lord.

Verse: Save me for the sake of Thy mercy.

To Thee, Creator, we pray, forgive all the sins of Thy servant (or Thy handmaid), for you do not want the death of a sinner: and revive and heal him sick (or sick), and rise (or having risen) will serve Ty, confessing (or confessing) with Your grace to us.

Verse: For in death there is no one to remember You, but in hell who will confess to You.

Already desperate with a severe illness and approaching death, return, O Christ, to the belly, and give consolation to those who cry, so that everyone glorify Your holy miracles.

Glory: We accept the tears of Manasseh, the repentance of the Ninevites, and the confession of David; soon you saved these: and accept our prayers now, O merciful Lord, and give health to the sick ( or a sick person), for the weak (or for the weak) we pray to You.

And now: Give us Your mercy, Lady, always trusting in You: and ask for health for the sick (or sick), Thy healing hands, with the Forerunner, Mother of God, stretched out to Christ God yushchi.

Song 5.

Irmos: You appeared on earth invisible, and you lived as a man by will, the Incomprehensible One, and to You in the morning, we sing praises to You, O Lover of Mankind.

Verse: I am weary with my sighing.

Jair's daughter, who had already died, was revived by God: and now, O Christ God, bring the sick (or sick) from the gates of death, for Thou art the path of Life for all.

Verse: I will wash my bed every night, I will wet my bed with my tears.

Having revived the widow’s son, O Savior, You turned those tears into joy: and now save Thy smoldering servant (or thy smoldering handmaid) through illness, and even our sorrow and illness the joy will pass away.

Glory: Sometimes a fiery disease, Christ, Peter’s mother-in-law was healed by the touch of Your hand: and now may Your all-powerful right hand raise up Your sick servant (or Your sick servant ́), so that having risen (or risen), like this one, he will serve You.

And now: in Skorbi, it is soured than the sin, and not in the god of boldness, to you, the Most Holy God, the vpee: the prayer of your son to give the painful (or painful) healthy healthy and telephone.

Song 6.

Irmos: The last abyss of sins is in my daily life, and my spirit disappears: but, O Master, Thy lofty arm, like Peter, save me, a steward.

Verse: My eye is troubled with rage.

You have an abyss of mercy, O Christ God, inspire the prayer of Your servants, and like Peter you raised up Tabitha, and even now in illness, raise up the one lying (or lying down), having listened to church prayer books.

Verse: Betshah in all of mine.

I am the physician of our souls and bodies, bearing the ailments of the whole world, Christ, Healing Aeneas by Peter, and resurrecting Eutychus by Paul, and now heal the sick (or sick) one, the holy apostle of prayers ami.

Glory: Turn, O Christ, into joy for those who grieve for the sick today: that having received Your mercy, we may enter into Your house with the promised gifts, glorifying You with the Father and the Spirit in One him the Being of the Indivisible God.

And now: Come, O friends, let us fall before the Mother of God, so that we have the power to heal the sick and the unmercenary, together with the spiritual anointing prayers of Her God-pleasing oil.

Therefore, the abiye priest, or deacon, says the litany:

Packs and packs: Intercede, save, and so on.

Exclamation: For You are the King of peace, the depths of goodness, and the Source of mercy, and the Savior of our souls, and to You we send glory, with Your beginningless Father, and the Most Holy, and the Good, and By Your life-giving Spirit, now and forever, and to the ages of ages.

Lik: Amen.

Abiye sing, or honor, kontakion, voice 2:

On the sick bed of the one lying (or lying), and with the mortal wound wounded (or wounded), as of old you raised up, Savior, Peter’s mother-in-law and like the weakened one on the bed of the wearer, and now, O Merciful One, visit and heal: for You alone art sickness and illness borne of our generation, and all mighty, for he is abundantly merciful.

Also the priest, or deacon, says: Let us come. Priest: Peace to all. Lik: And to your spirit.

Prokeimenon, voice 1: Heal me, Lord, for my bones are crumpled, and my soul is greatly troubled. Verse: Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am weak.

Deacon: Let us pray to the Lord. Lik: Lord have mercy.

The priest proclaims:

For You are Holy, our God, and You rest in the saints, and We ascribe glory to You, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.

Lik: Amen.

And they sing: Let every breath praise the Lord. Verse: Praise God in His saints, praise Him in strengthening His power. And therefore the deacon exclaims:

And we pray that we may be worthy to hear the Holy Gospel of the Lord God.

Lik: Lord have mercy, three times.

Deacon: Wisdom, forgive us, let us hear the Holy Gospel.

Priest: Peace to all.

People: And to your spirit.

And abiye: Reading from John (or Luke, or Matthew) of the Holy Gospel.

Lik: Glory to Thee, Lord, glory to Thee.

Deacon: Let's go.

The priest reads, even if the male sex is sick, this Gospel. Also in the church, on the throne, or in the house, over the head of the sick:

Chapter 4. Conception 13:

At that time, a certain king’s husband, whose son was sick in Capernaum. Hearing that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and prayed to Him that He would come down and heal his son, for he was about to die. Jesus said to him: unless you see signs and wonders, you cannot believe. The king’s husband said to him: Lord, come down, before my child even dies. Jesus said to him: Go, your son is alive. And the man believed in the words that Jesus spoke to him, and he walked. Abiye came in to him, and behold, his servant found him, and told him, saying, “Your son is alive.” He asked them about the hour at which it would be easier for him to be, and decided to him that yesterday at the seventh hour leave his fire. Now, the father, because at this moment Jesus said to him, because your son lives, both he and his whole house have faith. Jesus performed this second sign when he came from Judea to Galilee.

If the wife is sick, in the house she is over her head, and in the church she is on the throne, this Gospel says:

From Luke, chapter 4, conception 16.

During this time, Jesus entered the house of Simon: Simon’s mother-in-law was possessed by great fire, and prayed to Him for her. And standing over her, he forbade the fire and left her: but he rose up and served them. When the sun set, all those who had various ailments, brought them to Him: He laid them on one hand and healed them.

If the girl is sick, this Gospel says:

Matthew, chapter 9. Conception 32.

At that time, a certain prince came to Jesus, bowing to Him, saying, “For my daughter is now going to die: but when you come, lay Your hand on her, and she will live.” And Jesus arose and his disciples walked after him. And behold, the woman has been bleeding for twenty years, coming up from behind, I touched His robe with a cry, saying within myself: if I just touch His robe, I will be saved. Jesus turned and saw her, saying: Be of good cheer, daughter, your faith will save you. And the wife was saved from that hour. And Jesus came to the prince’s house, and when he saw the priests and the people speaking, he said to them: Go away, for the maiden will not die, but sleeps. And I curse at him. When the people were driven out, they came in by the hand: and the maiden arose. And this news went out throughout all that land.

Face: Glory to You, Lord:

And the Abiye sing this:

Glory: Through the prayers of all saints, O Merciful One, cleanse our many sins.

And now: Through the prayers of the Mother of God, mercifully, cleanse our many sins.

Also: Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your compassions, cleanse my iniquity.

And this stichera, voice 6: Do not leave us wanting in our hope, O most merciful God, but accept, as Lord, the prayers of Your servants: for sorrow will overcome us, for Your sick servant to me (or about your sick servant): there is no refuge for money-grubbers anywhere in troubles ours, consolation is not imams, lower than help, unless You, Creator of the world, are the Hope and Salvation of the faithful: therefore we fall to You and humbly pray, raise us up soon from the sickness of ours It is not to You that he who prays diligently (or praying), and deliver him (or ) from any evil situation.

Therefore the priest or deacon says:

God save Your people, and bless Your heritage; visit your world with your mercy and generosity, raise up the horn of Orthodox Christians, and send down your rich mercies upon us, through the prayers of the All-Pure Lady of our Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary ́i; by the power of the Honest and Life-giving Cross; intercession of the Honest Heavenly Forces of the Bodiless; the honest, glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John; saints, glorious and all-praised apostle; like our holy fathers, and the great universal teachers and saints, Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and John Chrysostom; like our holy father Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra, the Wonderworker; Saints Equal to the Apostles Methodius and Cyril, Slovenian teachers; Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir and Grand Duchess Olga; like our holy father, St. Michael, first metropolitan of Kiev; the High Hierarchs of Moscow and All Russia, Peter, Alexia, Jonah, Makaria, Philip, Job, Hermogenes and Tikhon; Metropolitans of Moscow Filaret, Innocent and Makaria; names of saints [diocesan]; holy glorious and victorious martyrs; New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kiev; Veniamin, Metropolitan of Petrograd; Peter, Metropolitan of Krutitsa; Hilarion, Archbishop of Vereisk; holy royal passion-bearers; Venerable Martyrs Grand Duchess Elizabeth and Nun Varvara; our venerable and God-bearing fathers; Reverend Father of the Optina Elders; holy righteous John of Kronstadt and Alexis of Moscow; Holy Blessed Xenia of Petersburg and Matrona of Moscow; the holy and righteous Godfathers Joachim and Anna, and Saint [name, whose name is the temple] and all the saints. We pray to You, most merciful Lord, hear us sinners praying to You, and have mercy on us.

Face: Lord have mercy, 12.

Exclamation: By the mercy and generosity and love of mankind of Your only begotten Son, with Him art Thou blessed, with Thy Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages, Amen.

Song 7.

Irmos: First of all, the youths did not worship the golden image, the Persian veneration, but three sang in the middle of the cave: Blessed are you of the fathers of God.

Verse: Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.

Thy cross, O Lord, life-giving, from which death perished, and the dead was brought to life, raise up the sick (or sick) one now as a Divine sign, like the dead maiden under Helen.

Verse: Because the Lord heard the voice of my crying.

O Lord, the long and fierce illness of the one sitting on pus in the worms, and with a grateful word you healed the one who prayed: and now the one who is sick (or sick) and the one praying to us ( or praying) You, for it is good, heal invisibly through the prayers of Your saints.

Glory: For all the times that we have to die, I have so deigned to You, God: but for a little time, with mercy, for health, we ask the sick (or sick) person to change from the death of that (or that ́) on the stomach, give consolation to the grieving.

And now: Help and help our poverty, Mother of God, Thou dost mark the time and hour when we beseech Thy Son and our God to grant health to the sick (or sick) and forgiveness of all sinners nii.

Song 8.

Irmos: To serve the Living God in Babylon, the youth endured, neglected the Musikian organs, and stood in the middle of the flames, singing a beautiful song, saying: bless, all the works of the Lord , Gentlemen.

Verse: The Lord has heard my prayer.

Thou hast punished, O Master, the illness of Thy servant (or Thy handmaid), and Healed it quickly, O merciful Christ God: and thou hast not yet put death to death, that He may reward Thee with repentance: Himself for you say: I do not want the death of a sinner.

Verse: The Lord accepts my prayer.

Lord, be merciful, may Your glorious miracles reach us today: heal demons, heal ailments and wounds, heal illnesses, perform deeds and sorceries: and deliver us from all wounds.

Glory: Who forbade, O Christ, the sea wind, and turned the fear of the disciples into joy, forbid even now the grave illness that toils Thy servant (or Thy handmaid): let us all rejoice, praising Thee forever.

And now: Deliver, O Mother of God, from the sorrows that have befallen us, troubles and sorrows, and all various ailments, poison and sorcery, and the lessons of various people, and vain deaths, we pray.

Song 9.

Irmos: On Mount Sinai you saw the depth of Moses, the Fire of the Divinity burning in the womb. Daniel saw thee, the uncut mountain, the vegetated rod, Isaiah cried out from the root of David.

Verse: Let all my enemies be ashamed and dismayed.

Source of life, Giver of mercy, Christ, do not turn Your face away from us, but ease the sickness, the burdened sickness, and raise him up, like Abgar’s Thaddeus: may He glorify You ever since hereby and by the Holy Spirit of the One God.

Verse: Let them return and be ashamed very soon.

Believing the Gospel verb, We are looking for Your promise, Christ, ask, Thou art, and it will be given to you: therefore now we beseech Thee: Rise from the bed of health to the fierce ones. with illness: yes, You and us are magnified.

Glory: Tormented by illness, and inside with invisible wounds we cry out to You, Christ, not for our sake, Lord, for we are all full of sins, but with mothers and the forerunners of Your prayers, under Wait for healing for the sick person (or the sick person).

And now: Most Pure Mother of God, with all the saints we call upon Thee, with the Angels and Archangels, with the prophets and patriarchs, with the apostles and saints, with the saints and righteous, praying to Christ our God Give health to the sick: let us magnify You in all respects.

Therefore: It is worthy to eat: the Trisagion according to Our Father: This Troparion, voice 6:

Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us: Glory: Lord, have mercy on us: And now: Open the doors of mercy to us, blessed Mother of God:

Abiye is still the priest or deacon who says this litany:

Have mercy on us, God:

We also pray to You, the All-Merciful Lord, like Hezekiah’s tears, the repentance of Manasseh and the Ninevites, and You accepted David’s confession, and You soon had mercy on them, and we offer you in compunction Accept Your prayers, O All-merciful King, and have mercy on Your sick servant so generously ( or love your sick servant), granting health to him (or her), with tears we pray to You, Source of life and immortality, hear and have mercy soon.

The deacon exclaims: Again and again with tenderness, on bended knee, let us pray to the Lord.

Lik: Lord, have mercy, three times.

The priest, with all those present, on bended knee, with all attention and tenderness, says this prayer:

O mighty and merciful God, build everything for the salvation of our race, look down, we humbly pray to Thee, to our humble prayer, and mercifully visit Thy servant (or Thy handmaid), Yarek, who names (or names) the name of Your Christ, and let him go and forgive him (or her) all sins, voluntary and involuntary, in whom Your grace angered, and irritated Your rage: every ailment of his (or her) body was healed, and every hostile invasion was removed. what will you do from him (or from her): raise him up (or you ) from sickness, and grant him health (or health) in soul and body to your holy Church, glorifying (or glorifying) with good deeds and good words with all the faithful By Thy name of Thy Christ: with whom art thou blessed with the Most Holy and Good, and by Your life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Lik: Amen.

Abiye, having risen, creates a release, river: Wisdom. Lik: Most honest cherub: Priest: Glory to you, Christ God, our hope, glory to you.

Face: Glory, and now: Lord have mercy, three times. Bless.

The priest says this release:

Christ our True God, through the prayers of His Most Pure Mother, the holy glorious prophet, the Forerunner and Baptist John, the glorious and all-praised apostles, saints and gratuitous doctors in Cosmas and Damian and all his saints, he will have mercy and save us and his servant (or his servant) name as Good and Lover of Mankind.

Therefore, whenever they please, they sing or honor:

Listen to the prayers of Your servant, O All-Immaculate One:

And they go back to their own places, thanking God.
