Prayer to Saint Blaise

Animals, like people, have heavenly patrons, and it is believed that each species has its own. Contacting them will help his recovery. Among those who are approached with prayer for the health of the animal is Saint Blaise. His biography says that in his earthly life he saved people who were near death and healed animals with prayer.

People turn to him with requests to protect animals from diseases. They pray to him for increasing the number of offspring in the herd, the health of cattle, pigs and wild boars. Now many city residents have dwarf pigs living in their apartments. In the event of their illness, turning to Saint Blaise with prayer would be quite appropriate. You can also turn to him in prayer when other pets are sick.

Oh, long-suffering father, great servant of God, holy martyr Blasie. Hear us sinners who come running to you and pray to you warmly. A storm of many evils, troubles and sorrows will overwhelm us, mental and physical illnesses and all sorts of attacks from the enemy will overwhelm us. We are negligent about our salvation; we are less worthy, because of our sin, to ask the Lord for help. But you, good shepherd, had great boldness from the merciful God, as sometimes you were led to your torment, the tearful widows who came to you, did not reject you, otherwise you freed the beast from the misfortune, and you asked the Lord for healing of another youth. So now, look upon your children at this hour, who have come to you, asking for consolation and help. You have begged the Lord, if any illness or misfortune happens to someone, and that person will remember your name - to help everyone in glorifying His Most Holy Name. Do not reject us who pray to you, but as you promised, fulfill all our requests for good, by the mercy of the All-Good God, to Him be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer for the cat's recovery

Today, cats occupy the lead among domestic animals kept by humans, along with dogs. Since ancient times, these representatives of the animal world have been treated very carefully, believing that they are connected not only with the world of the living, but also the dead. However, they are all creations of God, and require care and attention if a person has taken responsibility for their maintenance. Just like people, they are susceptible to various diseases that need to be treated, alleviating the suffering of the animal. You can read a prayer to Saint Blaise for the recovery of your pet cat.

Blessed and ever-memorable Hieromartyr Blasius, wondrous sufferer and warm representative of ours, after your departure into eternal life, assist those who call on your holy name and promise to be heard in all petitions! Behold, now to you, the saint of God, as to the true intercessor of salvation, we come and humbly pray: come to our aid, bound by the bonds of sins, move to your all-powerful prayers to God and pray for us sinners: we dare to call you, unworthy, to intercede , and we wish to receive liberation from all our sins through you. Oh, Holy Blaise of God! In the contrition and humility of our hearts, we fall before you and pray: shine upon us, darkened by the slander of the enemy, with the light of grace from above, so that walking in it, we will not stumble our feet on a stone. You, as a vessel chosen in honor and filled with the grace of God, we pray: grant us sinners the desired acceptance from your fulfillment, and heal our mental and physical ulcers, and ask the Lord for forgiveness of our sins and for our mental and physical health, salvation that is beneficial, so that we may always glorify Father and Son and Holy Spirit, and your merciful intercession for our souls and bodies, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Conspiracies for pet illness

To meet the wishes of visitors, I am posting a selection of the best conspiracies and rituals on the requested topic:

Appeal to St. George

I'll come closer and bow lower!

Goy you are, Father Yegor the Brave,

accept my request and prayer,

run over my little animal (say the name of the animal, coat color, type: for example, the red cat Marsik with a white tip of the tail)

and unfasten 12 nails from the zealous heart, from the red face,

with black liver, with hot blood,

bone, joint, brain.

Protect my little animal from fire, water and wind (name the animal, color of fur, type: for example, the red cat Marsik with a white tip of the tail).

If your animal gets sick

Read the spell over the water, which you then sprinkle on the animal:

From grief, death from stabbing and swelling,

From any damage.

So that (nickname) drinks and eats to his heart's content

And so that from now on I don’t get sick.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Now and ever and unto ages of ages.

Spell for treating pets

Props: a bowl of water and a church candle.

Light a candle and read prayers over the water (the breath should touch the water) in the following order:

Forgive, God, the owners of this animal for their sins and sins, voluntary and involuntary.

Go away the pain, go away the disease, leave the body (name it) and go into oblivion.

Prayer to Saints Florus and Laurus

Among the patrons of livestock in old times were Saints Florus and Laurus. They were considered protectors of horses, which in ancient times were faithful helpers of humans. In gratitude to them, a “horse holiday” was even established. On this day, horses were brought to churches, prayers were read to the saints for the protection and health of animals, and they were sprinkled with holy water. This strengthened the health of horses and healed them from diseases.

Today this tradition is a thing of the past, but it is known that a dog was no less faithful friend to man. The Church is loyal to keeping it in a house where there are icons. However, the animal must have its own place. You can turn to Saints Florus and Laurus, as well as Blasius, with a prayer for the health of your dog. If she is seriously ill, the owner's tearful prayers will help in her healing.

Praiseworthy martyrs, honorable brothers Florus and Laurus, hear all those who flock to your intercession, and just as during your life you healed horses, so now deliver them from all ailments. Listen to the prayer of those who come running to you, so that the most holy name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit will be glorified by everyone, now and always, and forever and ever. Amen.

Animals can be allowed into the temple if necessary

If a prayer for a sick animal is, at the very least, accepted by the majority of people who call themselves Orthodox, then not everyone accepts animals in the church.

Those who vehemently oppose this demonstrate complete ignorance of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

There are Old Testament laws that some animals can be unclean.

This is a purely gastronomic ban. It is connected with the fact that side by side with the Jews lived people of other faiths (worshipers of Baal, Astarte, etc.), who had sacred animals.

Eating such animals for food was something akin to communion, and therefore there was a religious ban on the meat of these animals. The Bible says nothing else.

Jesus Christ completely rejected the restrictions of the Old Testament, and therefore the idea that there are “unclean” animals that defile something with their presence is nonsense.

“What God has purified, you do not consider unclean.”

(Acts 11:9)

“The righteous also cares for the life of his livestock”

(Prov. 12:10)

This is what the Bible really says about animals in human life. Therefore, you should not pay attention to ostentatious hysteria, which has nothing to do with Orthodoxy. There is no such thing as a dog not being allowed into a church. This is superstition. There are no unclean animals, this is also a superstition.

Another question is, what exactly is the animal doing in the temple?

There are instructions that animals can only be allowed inside if necessary (usually illustrated with a freezing horse).

But everyone has the right to determine for themselves when it is necessary. If an animal dies of hunger and freezes in the street, then what is the piety of not letting it in? Lose your life in order to “save” the walls?

We must not forget that Orthodoxy is how a person acts in the world, and not what is in his church.

Bans on animals visiting temples arose due to religious disagreements (sacred animals of some traditions were not allowed into the religious buildings of others). In cultures like Buddhism, where there were no such problems, animals freely visit shrines. Photo: f3.mylove.ru

Helping animals is a good, Christian thing. And if a nursery at a church is able to save 30 lives according to God’s commandment, and a prayer service for animals draws people’s attention to the problems of stray dogs and cats, then these are Christian deeds.

A cat in the temple can be useful - catch mice. Another thing is that a temple is a building with a clear function for people, and animals do not need it unless necessary. But within the framework of prayer for animals, everything fits into what God commanded us.

We ourselves once called these animals domestic, and now our task is to provide them with a home. And who should be the first to open the door and set an example for others, if not the House of God?

Prayer to the Lord for the salvation and health of animals

Our Lord protects not only people, but also “all creatures,” which can be confirmed in the Bible. Therefore, in case of illnesses in domestic animals, you can turn the words of prayer for the health of the animal to God, being firmly convinced that it will be heard.

Lord, our God, mighty and mighty God, who has the power of life and death, who saves people and livestock and quickly sends what they ask to everyone who comes to You with faith and their petitions. performing graciously! To You we, Your unworthy servants, falling humbly, with faith in a contrite heart, we ask and tenderly pray: look mercifully on this cattle, overcome by heavy weakness and disease. lip, and quickly heal with the power of Your blessing, extinguishing the fire burning inside its (cattle) and relieving illness; change the winds that are harmful and destroy him to favorable ones and grant him life and health, for the sake of the prayers of Your faithful people who cry to You: according to the prayers of our Most Pure Lady, Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, by the power of the Honest and Life-giving Cross, by the protection of the heavenly Forces, bodiless, honest and glorious the prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John, the holy glorious and all-praised apostles, the holy victorious martyrs, the holy unmercenary doctors: Cosmas and Damian, Cyrus and John, Panteleimon and all of Your saints, for You are the source of life and its giver, and You save people and livestock , and we give glory to You, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Life of St. Gerasim of Jordan

The homeland of the great faster Gerasim was Lycia, located on the territory of Asia Minor. At birth, the parents of the future saint named him Gregory. Love for the Creator came to the ascetic in early childhood. Dreaming of serving the Lord, Gregory tried to lead a virtuous life.

Despite the fact that Gregory’s family was quite wealthy, the young man, having reached adulthood, decided to leave his parents and retire to a monastery. Gregory chose the Thebadian desert, located in Egypt, as his place of service. Here he took monastic orders under the name Gerasim.

After some time devoted to prayer, Gerasim returned to his homeland. But the monk did not remain in his native land for long. He decided to make a pilgrimage to holy places. Having traveled all over Palestine, the saint chose the Jordanian desert as the place of his ministry. For some time the ascetic led a hermit's life. Later he decided to found a monastery.

But even before the establishment of the monastery, the monk was tempted by heresy. This happened after the Fourth Ecumenical Council, at which Archimandrite Eutyches and Patriarch Dioscorus of Alexandria were condemned. The reason for their condemnation lay in their denial of the human essence of Christ and recognition only of the Divine principle of the Savior. Some clergy supported their point of view, confusing many devotees. Gerasim of Jordan also joined those infected with heresy. But soon, thanks to the Monk Euthymius the Great, the ascetic repented and again turned to piety.

The monastery, founded by the holy ascetic, consisted of 70 monks, from whom he demanded strict compliance with the rules. The rules set by the reverend were quite strict. The brethren were required to:

  • be in solitude all weekdays;
  • do handicrafts;
  • devote all your free time to prayers;
  • refuse to cook food over fire;
  • eat dry bread, plant roots, drink water;
  • wear old, shabby clothes;
  • sleep on rough matting;
  • undergo the rite of communion every weekend.

Only after Sunday service and communion was it allowed to eat boiled food and drink a little wine.

Then the abbot listened to the monks' report on the work done for the week. From the second half of Sunday, the brethren again retired to their cells, weaving baskets.

All these rules applied not only to the monks, but also to the monk himself, who showed the brethren with his life an example of monastic feat. During Great Lent, the saint completely refused food.

But, despite such a harsh charter, the number of brethren regularly increased. Among the monks was the future Saint Kyriakos, who became Gerasim’s favorite disciple. Kiriak joined the monastic brethren as a young man. But his young age did not prevent the monk from fulfilling the monastery charter. He worked all day and spent his nights praying to the Lord, falling asleep only briefly. Seeing such humility, the Monk Gerasim fell in love with the young man very much.

The story of the lion brought the monk worldwide fame. One day, Gerasim, walking through the desert, came across a wounded lion. The saint cured the predator by removing a splinter from his paw. After that, the lion followed the faster everywhere. The elder even entrusted him with work, ordering him to guard the donkey that carried water for the brethren.

But one day the donkey disappeared. Gerasim, deciding that he had become food for the lion, ordered the monks to carry water on the predator. One day, a warrior passing by saw this and gave the monks money to buy a new donkey.

Later the missing item was found. Among the animals of the caravan passing by was a donkey. Seeing him, the lion grabbed the donkey and dragged it to the monastery. This is how the inhabitants learned that the lion was not to blame for the loss of the animal.

Leo lived in the monastery until the saint’s death. After the old man's soul left his mortal body, the lion stopped eating, constantly looking for Gerasim. Then the monks brought him to the abbot’s grave. The beast's grief was so great that his heart could not stand it, and he died on the tomb of the saint.
