The life path of a saint and miracles performed
The Bishop of Salamis or Saint Spyridon lived in our world almost 18 centuries ago, but despite this, many facts about his deeds and life have been preserved in the chronicles.
Records indicate the approximate date of his birth as 270 AD. In Cyprus. The future clergyman was born into the family of a shepherd, and from childhood he led a righteous lifestyle: he was kind and hardworking, often gave shelter to travelers, and helped the poor. He helped everyone selflessly, and when he lent money, he did not demand its return on time, counting on people’s conscientiousness.
In his youth, the Bishop of Salamis met a girl to match himself, with whom he later married. A child appeared in a happy marriage, however, the quiet life was short-lived - soon after the birth of the first child, the wife died. This tragedy completely changed the shepherd’s life and his worldview. He distributed all his property to the homeless, forgave all his debts, and then wandered around the world for a long time.
Even during his lifetime, Spyridon was famous for his miraculous powers . He drove away demons, drove away incurable diseases, controlled the elements of nature. Having no education, the Saint from childhood was distinguished by the wisdom of his thoughts, identified the weaknesses and vices of people, and helped to cope with them, turning to the Holy Scriptures.
How to pray correctly?
Before you start praying to Spyridon the Wonderworker, you should consider a number of rules that must be followed:
- The time for prayer is chosen according to availability: early in the morning or late in the evening. The main condition is that the prayer should be read alone, so that no one can distract or interfere with the action. It is recommended to choose the evening time before bedtime.
- Thoughts during prayer must be pure and sincere, and intentions must exclude the thirst for easy money or the desire to deceive other people.

Life of Saint Spyridon
Spyridon of Trimifuntsky is the most responsive saint, sent by God to help solve earthly problems. Prayer addressed to him can work miracles. This fact has been verified by many people more than once.
He was born and lived more than seventeen centuries ago in Cyprus into a poor family. By practicing the craft of a shepherd, Spiridon earned his daily bread. In all icons, his head is covered with a simple shepherd’s cap. Spiridon did not receive an education, but had a flexible mind, was surprisingly perspicacious and friendly to people.
His fate was not cloudless. Spyridon knew hard work, poverty, and bitter losses, so he treated those in need with special sympathy and helped them in earthly and heavenly life. He became a bishop at an advanced age, having survived the death of his wife. The doors of his house in the city of Trimifunt were always open to those asking, whom he always helped with shelter and food. While in the episcopal rank, the saint continued to work humbly.
Miracles created
The miracles of the saint are recognized by the church as a historical fact and are not subject to doubt. There is plenty of contemporary evidence of this.
Thanks to pure and simple faith, every petition of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous found an immediate answer from the Lord. He was granted amazing power: the word of the saint tamed the elements, cast out demons, and healed the sick.
At the First Ecumenical Council, he, holding a brick in his hands, divided it into fire, water and clay. In this way the saint reinforced his words about the trinity of God. The miracles performed by Saint Spyridon are recognized by the church and documented.
To help a needy peasant, the saint turned an ordinary snake into a gold bar. Having purchased grain for sowing, the man received a good harvest, completely paid off his debts and came to the bishop to return the ingot. To his great surprise, after the prayer of Saint Spyridon, the gold bar turned back into an animal, which immediately crawled into a hole.
A noteworthy case was when the saint went with his companions to help an innocently convicted person. His path was blocked by a suddenly overflowing stream, which soon parted at the command of the saint. The judge who learned about this immediately released the innocently convicted man.
Socrates Scholasticus tells about another amazing incident from the life of Spyridon. At night, several robbers snuck into his sheepfold to steal sheep. The villains sat in it until the morning, because they were never able to get out of there. Having given them a sheep for being awake at night, Spyridon forgave the robbers and persuaded them to abandon their lawlessness.
Posthumous service
Saint Spyridon's earthly journey ended in prayer, since he knew the date of his death from God in advance. He was buried in the city of Trimifunt in the Church of the Holy Apostles. The incorrupt relics of the saint were transferred to Constantinople in the 7th century. From 1460 to this day, they rest on the Greek island of Kerkyra (Corfu) in a temple named after Spyridon of Trimifuntsky.
The saint's memorial day is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on December 25, and by the Catholic Church on December 14.
The time spent in the sarcophagus practically did not change the appearance of the saint. His body temperature remains at 36.6°C, and his hair and nails continue to grow. Every year, the temple servants change the saint’s clothes and shoes, which turn out to be worn out. St. Spyridon's shoes are given to Orthodox monasteries and churches around the world.

Icon of the Mother of God “Spreader of the Loaves”
The most powerful prayer - the dream of the Most Holy Theotokos “Full Cup” - heals, protects, helps to get a well-paid job or otherwise improve shaky material well-being:

Prayer as an appeal to God
Prayer is a person’s communication with God in the form of dialogue. The Lord gives a timely response to every appeal, although no one guarantees that the person will like the answer. The best way to turn to God is through prayers compiled by the Church. This makes it easier to tune in to the desired spiritual tone. But you can also pray in your own words. There are prayers of repentance, gratitude or petition, for help, before meals, before starting any business.
